Lived here the past year, upon moving in they cleaned the carpet the morning I moved In so the carpet was still wet in the bedroom and closet. Living here is pretty peaceful and chill, not aware of any crime, no huge bugs problems besides spiders sometimes, & no flooding in my apt & Im the bottom floor. 1 time my packages were stolen. The water is included in the rent based on square footage. For maintenance usually youre waiting minimum 1 week but typically youre waiting for weeks. One time I called emergency maintenance, he said he was on the way and literally never came so I had to wait until Monday to call the office & he came less than 20 minutes. I never got communication of a 60 day notice of when my lease ends & an offer to renew. Ended up having to contact them 2-3 times the month before it was the end of my lease to figure out when it ends AND how much it would be to extend my lease an additional month for my next move. Theyre inconsistent on answering the phones. The reason I wont renew or get a bigger apartment is because of maintenance. They take WAY too long, it is absolutely unacceptable. We have new management & I put in a maintenance request with the temporary new manager & its been over a month & the office doesnt ever answer the phone when I call. So ridiculous, I cant wait to get the hell outta here.
These apartments are trash! Everything I requested to be repaired has not been done. But someone marks it complete! I waited two months for some to repair the refrigerator and no one came! I called, pleaded and begged for help, still no response! I called for the manager to give me a call. Tony in the office said she was at another property. I emailed and text Manny in the office. No response, yet when he wanted me to renew my lease, he texted and emailed. I’m still waiting for the manager to call me! after all this my daughter went out and purchased me a refrigerator. I came home today and just like many others here the air is not working. I wonder how long it will take them to fix it. Renters Right said I only have to give them 14 days to fix the air. After then I can call someone to fix it using my rent to pay for services.
New property manager is just awful, apartment is not worth what comes with it, maintenance never seem to get around to fixing things. Appliances are outdated. There’s a horrible wasp/bee infestation that has yet to be addressed. Lots of crime, theft and danger. Save your time, money and sanity.
Hi all,My AC has been out since March 10th, the maintenance has barely done anything not that they could since its AC. Been patiently waiting took about two weeks before they sent a HVAC Tech out to confirm what I already knew. Who knows how long it will take to get the AC fixed. And I am pretty sure they are going to raise the rent when my lease is up.Would I recommend living here yes if it is your only option like it was for me at the time. Can not say too much about having a bad experience besides paying an arm and a leg for an apartment complex but its Nashville that s expected, and my AC being out. These apartments are nothing to write home about, as are most apartments in Nashville, but its livableEdit: AC is fixed took two months but it’s fixed, now my hot water heater is broken who knows how long that will take someone in maintenance was supposed to come look but nobody ever showed up. Expected.Edit 2: My Water heater is now fixed, they came out quickly and fixed that which is a plus. New property manager Ms. Stegall has been helpful I recommend contacting her with pictures about any issues then letting maintenance know so that the part can be approved for order if you need something major fixed.Update: Disgusting neighbors dog is pooping below me on the balcony and they leave it there baking in the sun.Hope this review helps
Do Not Move Here! A family member of mine recently moved in.After moving in she discovered that the property was in horrendous condition. It had a pest issue, her bathroom sink didn’t work, smelled when it rained, floors had severe water damage. Staff is very uncooperative. Nightmare experience...
Got approved for an apartment here. Never heard anything back. Tried multiple times to get ahold of anyone from the office by calling AND emailing. Yes, I was calling during business hours. Waste of time and waste of my money for the application.
I wish I could give less than 1 star. I have had maintenance requests for the same issues for months. Each time i speak with someone they always say the order is in an will be addressed. Well its 2 months later and my heat still is not working and my cabinet door is still in my kitchen floor.
Most of these negative reviews were written about the previous management and have already been addressed. The current management team is actually invested in the property and have actively been finding ways to improve it since they took over. Ive been here for two years, and it is night and day.
After accepting an offer in Nashville, I was in a rush to move and stumbled on this place, and I have to say that I enjoy living here for the most part. I have one of the updated apartments that have the hardwood floors and the stainless steel appliances which is nice. The office staff are really helpful, and most of the time, my maintenance requests are resolved in a week. They also pride themselves on keeping the complex clean which I appreciate. Every morning, I see the maintenance crew outside picking up trash around the complex. Some things that I hate is that my apartment has a spider problem, but fortunately, if you ask the staff to spray, pest control is usually out there in 48 hours. The treatment usually lasts for a few months before I have to call again. The rent is also not bad, and it also includes water. However, dont bother calling the office. They never pick up. You will have to go into the office to get issues resolved. The ladies in the office are nice, but Im not sure what they are doing, since every time I go in there, they are just sitting there.I decided to not to renew my least after 2 years of staying here, because I just want a place with better amenities, a bigger bathroom, and a washer/dryer hook up thats not outside in the storage closet (which really annoys me!). However, I definitely would recommend this place to others.
I have lived at this apartment complex for the past two years and I am so glad to finally be getting out of here. I was in a rush to find a place when I first moved to Tennessee and I was overjoyed I found a two bedroom for a little over $1,100 but this place is not worth the amount they are charging for outdated appliances, backwards and poorly maintained cabinets, old hookups, and uneven flooring.I was here when the complex was managed by Canterchase and they were the absolute worst people to deal with so now that they’ve switched to Newport Apartments, management has gotten slightly better.Maintenance still takes a while to solve any problem or not at all; the last couple of months the air went out, the freezer stopped working, and the hard wired smoke detector would not stop chirping after relentless efforts to make it stop and getting in contact with maintenance, nothing was done. Also, the faucets were changed so the water runs extremely slow in the kitchen and bathrooms, and it’s not a powerful stream in the showers.Bugs are somewhat of a problem: the decks sliding door is not secure enough so bugs can easily get through like wasps, stink bugs, and spiders. It doesn’t help the washer and dryer hookups are outside in the storage closet, either. They are going to start charging for pest control when they haven’t come out to spray once since I’ve lived here, even after asking. After my lease was up, they were going up on water and charging for trash pick up. Although the employees in the office are better but Newport Apartments are greedy and charging more for getting the same poor services as before.Overall, if you can avoid renting from here, please find something else. I rated them a one star because management was friendly once they changed from Canterchase but that was the only perk.
I lived here from March-November of 2018 and HATED every moment. I lived in a bottom unit. A week after I moved in it rained. The following morning I went into my closet, which was the main selling piece of the the 720 sq ft unit, and the carpet was soaking wet. I called maintenance, they pulled the carpet up and replaced the padding. They also but a huge fan and a dehumidifier in, which ran up my electric bill but I understood. It happened again.... and again and again.... so I finally called the office and spoke with Dred. He has someone come in and go through the crawl space to find what was wrong. He claimed it was the sub pump, they replaced it.... my closet flooded again. The mold and mildew it caused from the constant moisture completely ruined my dresser and a lot of my clothes. I had to purchase clothing racks and have all my clothes in the living room the entire time I lived there. That wasn’t the only issue... when the guy went through the crawl space he apparently let a massive rat in. Who made a home under my kitchen sink. I had to make a freaking obstacle course around my kitchen and bathroom to keep the rat in until pest control cane and got it. They put poison, the rat was sneezing and DIED IN THE WALL. They never removed it. I moved out shortly after, I assume the smell of mold and the decaying rat had to be taken care of before that apartment could be rented out. This place would be good if you live on the second or third floor, or maybe it was just my building and the problem in the foundation, which by the way Dred admitted it couldn’t be fixed permanently and offered to move me to another unit.... but pay the price difference since it was larger because that didn’t have any of my layout available. I refused to stay any longer, the mold made me and my 2 year old son sick the whole time we lived here.... such a shame because I loved the layout...
Dred is the only good thing about these apartments.
I have lived here for several years, and I have seen many management teams come and go. I must say Dred and his team are absolutely THE BEST! If anything is every wrong, i have gotten it fixed right away. If there are issues with other neighbors, it is addressed immediately. They are always pleasant and friendly and they actually care about their tenants. I have recommended this place to several friends and i will continue to recommend it as long as Dred and his team are management this property! The previous management teams were trash and did not care abt the property or their tenants and I’m finally glad to see how This management team walks the grounds daily and pick up trash and anything else that people may leave around. It’s a great place to stay and i have no complaints after living here for 10 years.
I absolutely LOVE canterchase. This place feels like home, and Im so sad to be leaving. A year and a half went by too quick! The maintenance staff is more than willing to help any little thing, the management team I look at like family, and I have no complaints! This is a GREAT family oriented complex. And dogs are welcome :) please dont pay attention to the negative comments because they do not reflect reality! Thank you canterchase!
I love it is vety quiet good people
Horrible place to live. Maintenance does nothing to help out, when they do decide to tend to work orders they fix things half assed and needs repair quickly, roaches are everywhere, management is a joke and very unprofessional, Angi the manager just goes into any unit she wants when shes mad or feels something needs to be addressed. Cars get broken into on a regular. DO NOT MOVE THERE!!!
Literally the worse kept apartments I have ever seen... Management is awful and unorganized. The amount you pay to live here is to high for this dumpster fire of so called apartment homes.
Very nice apartments 👌
Horrible scam artists
