I have rented here for 2 years and I enjoy living here. It is locally managed rather than a large corporation. The building is well kept and updated. The parking can be tight but is fine for my crossover. I enjoy the community feel here. There are a lot of people who own their condo and long term renters, so you really get to know your neighbors. It is a diverse group of ages who live here from young professionals to retirees. Maintenance is always fast and convenient. The only problem is when the temperature goes below freezing the windows have condensation.

I moved here from Saint Louis a few weeks ago. The location is perfect for my work and for nights out on the town. The tenants I have met so far are super friendly and the amenities are killer. Steve the assistant manager rocked out the process for me, even still is answering questions when I think of them. He is definitely the go to in the office for me. If you are looking for a place in downtown Nashville, look no further.

I couldnt be more impressed with Steve and the rest of the staff. Incredibly attentive and had a great attitude with any interaction. The local area is amazing as well, there isnt anything you could want or need that isnt right there. Beautiful part of town with fantastic views! Would recommend to ANYONE!

I’m a current resident here and have had nothing but good experiences. The apartments themselves are nice and renovated with great views of downtown. So close to the excitement, but with the privacy you’d want from your home. There’s a strong sense of community here for sure! The leasing office is stellar! Steve is always there whenever you need him or have any questions or concerns or just stopping by to say hey! Maintenance is fast. I had a light bulb go out and it was immediately replaced. My dryer was a little squeaky when I first moved in, and they showed up the next morning with a brand new one! You really get the full experience here. They’ve got your back!

This place is flat out HORRIBLE! The plumbing was terrible, we had bugs in the apt since the trash chute was right next to us. There were no lights AT ALL in the bedroom or living room, It was loud, the parking situation was very unclear and you pretty much have to drive a golf cart to fit in a parking spot. The staff would give different answers each times we asked something important. There were fees we were not told about, and unfortunately I could go on and on...by far the WORST place iv ever lived and was so glad it was only for a short amount of time!!!

I have been working at the Cumberland going on 4 years now and I love the building and the residents, but now that we have this amazing Property Management it has turned into a dream job. Kristen Sparkman, with Carter-Haston is a fantastic property manager. She answers calls, responds to emails, she cares about her residents and employees. She will never ask you to do something she wouldnt do herself. Further more she brought an amazing team with her. Ashley and Easton are amazing team players always ready to assist with a smile on their face, and the maintenance team (David, Kelly, and Jacob) is amazing, they really are on top of things, I am yet to have one single complaint from the residents.

I love the Cumberland. The concierge are so helpful and always have a smile on their faces. The leasing staff are always willing to help me with anything I need. Of all the places I have lived this is the BEST! The location is AWESOME! I drive an SUV and had a hard time parking in the little spots but I mastered it.

I’m so impressed with The Cumberland and the leasing agent, Annie. I took the weekend to look for apartments and Annie is the only person out of all the places I looked at that made me feel like she genuinely cares. She got to know me and my needs, then tailored the tour to show me the best units for what I’m looking for. The location can’t be beat and the apartments are great, but I will lease here simply because of the staff.

The Cumberland was the first place I stayed moving to Nashville and was great while I was there. However, the moving out process is terrible. First, I was told that my move out date was set, then it was changed to a month later, extending my lease another 30 days because the leasing office didnt know their own policies. Second, I have been waiting on my security deposit for over six-months of moving out after I gave my forwarding address when moving out. I have called multiple times and given my address to the leasing office, concierge and assistant managers, yet I still have not received my security deposit. They dont care about their full-time residents once they are leaving, do not stay at the Cumberland!

The Cumberland is a great place to live! Although the parking garage is a little tight for bigger vehicles, this location cant be beat. Being front and center for so much happening in downtown Nashville is awesome. There is a lot of construction happening all around (I can see 5 construction cranes from my bedroom window!) but noise hasnt ever really been an issue. There are currently renovations being done on the building--Im excited about how it is all going to look when it is done. It looks like the remodel and updates in the lobby are gonna be awesome! And the new fitness center is great too. I love that I dont need a separate membership to a gym. The staff is warm and friendly, and although I havent lived there long, I feel a real sense of community about the place. Im proud of where I live and looking forward to meeting more of my neighbors soon!

A concierge staff that mirrors the service of a 5 STAR Hotel similar to the cast in the blockbuster film; “Pretty Woman!”Wow . . . Cumberland on Church is simply Nashville’s BEST all around, and one visit to this amazing property will prove it. So . . . what are you waiting for?!

I lived in in this building for a year (2015-216) and absolutely loved it! The staff is second to none. The leasing agents (especially Lauralee) are amazing, and the front desk concierges will know you by name. Also, the maintenance guys are GREAT- they will handle any problem for you the same day and are so friendly. The major pros of this building include parking that is underneath the building, 24/7 concierge service, package delivery to the front desk and a UPS store in the lobby, main level computers and printers, and a huge social area on the main floor. The only real con I can think of is that some of the residents are on the older side, and this led us to some noise complaints. Overall, there is a good mix of people living in this building.I would highly recommend the Cumberland, and if I hadnt had to move out of state for work, I would still be living in this building!

The location is awesome, the appts are sorta cookie-cutter but the views are what make it special. The parking does suck, but its my first time living in a building with an underground parking garage so that might be standard. Seems that your having to creep around cars while looking for a space because nobody knows how to park far enough up.The staff is really great as well, very helpful and responsive.

Good building with nice concierge and maintenance personell. However the rent is overly high, and the management company seems to be of low integrity, often trying to squeeze more money out of you through fees and sketchy practices.

I have been a resident at The Cumberland Apartments in Downtown Nashville for 7 months. I live in a one bedroom with about 800sqft, washer/dryer inside, and a balcony. Let me tell you why I love living here:1) Location: The Cumberland is right in the middle of Downtown Nashville, so there is never a shortage of things to do, people to meet, and places to explore. You are only a few minutes away from anything exciting that may be going on in the city. There are several eateries literally a couple of foot steps away from the apartment. Also it is located close enough to the action that you can enjoy the ambience of downtown sounds w/o them disturbing your sleep. Just a block away there is a full service grocery store, a drug store, a food arcade, a few different banks, and all types of local businesses. Most of the food places do not normally deliver but because you are a Cumberland resident they will bring the food right to your door without an extra charge. Uber/Lyft/Taxis are always readily available to bring you to and from your desired destination.2) Service: The employees at the Cumberland are hands down the nicest and most courteous group of people I have been around. From the concierge to the security guards to the leasing agents they all will greet you with a smile and help in any way possible. They keep the facility clean and retain a welcoming atmosphere. The repairs and maintenance team respond to requests immediately and provide quality service.3) Amenities: As a resident of the Cumberland you gain access to some great amenities. A) They offer apartments with balconies, multiple bed rooms, and washer/dryers inside. There is a residential laundry matt inside and also residents receive a discount from Nicholsons dry cleaners. B) You have access to a state of the art media room with multiple flat screens, pool tables, and shuffle boards. C) Each resident pays for a parking spot inside the garage which is at the bottom of the building, so there will always be an open space available. Also the garage is secured by key card entry to enter the gate and also the apartment complex. The garage is insulated so it’s mildly effected by the weather but you are safe from rain, hard winds, or extreme hot or cold. D) The new workout facility has all you need to burn those calories. It is private and contains enough machines where it is never too packed. E) There is a UPS packaging store connected to the building for all of your shipping needs.4) Appeal: The Cumberland just recently finished up renovating the complex and it looks awesome. The new style is very innovative and when you walk in the lobby you question Is this the lobby of apartment or a snazzy hotel. The added paintings and architecture have really giving it life and pizzazz.5) Price: Living downtown is an important decision that should be thought out thoroughly because rent is not cheap anywhere you go. I have visited several other apartment complexes downtown and for the price I pay none can compare. The Cumberland is an older model apartment complex so the spaces for occupancy are larger than the New York style apartments that have recently been built around the city.I would definitely vouch that The Cumberland is one of the top spots to live in downtown Nashville, TN. When my lease ends I will not be thinking about ‘moving out’ but ‘moving up’ to a higher level room. Become a member of the Cumberland community and give yourself an experience you will remember for a lifetime.- Satisfied Resident

IF you are only going to read 1 review, read this one. Youll get the complete story. Many reviews here that glow about this building are justified. However, they were all written over 3 months ago. I have lived here for 3 years, so I have some perspective.Mid winter 2014, the Cumberland was bought by new owners. That company promptly chose to replace a management company (RAM) that was well liked by all residents. The company they have put in since is in a word inept. Rather than go through a prolonged diatribe, here are the highlights:Under RAM this building felt very much like a warm community. Since the change the environment has become rather hostile.Riverstone, the new management group, dismissed a maintenance staff of 3 and replaced them with one person. As a result, repairs take a significant amount of time and are poorly executed. Many new residents complain of damage to their units at move in.The new owners have elected to undertake renovations that have been horrifically mismanaged, taking significantly longer than necessary. What was supposed to be a month long painting operation has dragged along for 3 months, with friends and colleagues ribbing me about the fact the exterior of my building looks like a Somali ghetto. Say nothing of my personal frustration about paint smears on windows.Riverstone has lowered community standards such that the building no longer feels like a safe place to live. Where I used to feel comfortable leaving my door unlocked I am now looking over my shoulder in the halls. The Club Room, a place which used to be a cheerful and lively place for impromptu community gatherings, is now largely deserted due to the that fact and the complaints of a small number of residents which Riverstone allows to dictate their policies. If you go to pay your rent in person, the property manager will act like you are wasting their time. If they actually acknowledge your presence they will speak to you as if you are a 12 year old in the principles office.Riverstone management was so unprofessional and hostile to a number of concierges that many, all of whom were well liked by residents, left.Rents have been going through the roof.In summary- the cheerful warm ambiance of this building is gone. That atmosphere used to make the small discomforts (Smartcar sized garage, piss poor ventilation, poor lighting) trivial and even lovable. With that character gone, there is nothing good left to say about this building except for its location, which is phenomenal. So in short, if you are looking to overpay for a poorly managed building in downtown Nashville, feel free to give Riverstone a call.
