I’ve had many Swedish massages, not to mention for half the price, and was not satisfied with this service. The masseuse was super sweet but the massage was just her rubbing my skin back and forth for 50 min. Felt as if it was almost burning from all the friction. I actually had to ask her to please apply more pressure multiple times and not once did she do so. I have a horrible back with knots and she never even felt them due to the lack of pressure. I would never come back for a massage especially for the price you’re charging. I’ve gotten groupons for Swedish massages for half the price of your prices and was x100 better. Wish i could write a better review bc the customer service and cleanliness was amazing.

Well... I came here by seeing this place in a top spa in NJ in multiple blogs and sites. It was a deep tissue massage.The place is underground and small mens room and womens room.The massage room is a nice, good space. The check-in process is quick.I had a good experience but the only problem was because of not cleaning properly or sanitize the place I and my wife got a throat infection.Massage and oil was a good and nice quiet place.In total price a little bit more than what you get.I have been in other places in New York City and cheaper or the same but get a better offer.Still recommended for a one-time experience or if you want something close.

My haircut turned out horrible. It’s way too short and not what the picture showed. I asked for no more than an inch off to reduce my split ends, but he ended up cutting off more than 4 inches. I also wanted to dye my hair blonde and I barely got highlights. My hair was done by a level 5 male, and I expected better. I was there for 3 hours. One of my concerns is that I have curly hair and it was cut as if I had straight.

This is a clean salon and offer almost all beauty treatments. I loved the hair styling, thank you.

She interpreted what I showed her, what I verbalized, and she even talked me through the type of cut she would recommend for someone like me, who is always a bit truant in getting my hair cut. I have always had great haircuts at this facility and I am the type of person who isn’t picky on who I see but when I call and say “I do not care who I see” it falls on deaf ears as they continue to try and book me with someone I’ve seen before. I also said if it couldn’t be on a weekend an evening would work. The response was sorry we have nothing on Sunday without further looking to see if anyone had evening availability. You would think they would try to book appointments for their stylists-especially since They were closed due to Covid and their stylists were out of work. It’s sad that stylists lose out on income due to the people who answer the phone.

I HIGHLY recommend Karla for a hydro facial!!!!!! The hydo facial alone was one of the best experiences in a spa I have ever had. You get immediate results and it was beyond relaxing! Karla was so amazing and took her time and explained everything. She was so professional and I can’t recommend her enough! Trust me when I tell you, you are missing out if you haven’t already had this. The hype of the hydro facial definitely lived up to the expectations! And Karla was just amazing and created the most amazing experience!

I’ve been going to Bangz for years now and today I tried out a new colorist/stylist Zach. I am beyond pleased with his services! He got my hair to a beautiful color that I thought was impossible!! He is so friendly and down to earth and I’m so happy I Had the honor of being his client. If you’re looking for a change in color or a new style for your hair I recommend Zach, he is your guy!!

Ive gone to various price levels here and I felt like I never really got a good mens haircut from here. Its a pleasant place, they are all nice and its easy to get to, but the prices are expensive to me. Ive gotten good haircuts before at other places, and its usually very hit or miss, but my opinion is they just give generic cuts and Ive never really gotten a good haircut. Maybe they are not the best at complex, thick or unruly hair etc.This place might good if you have no problem straight womens hair which are a lot of the customers there an their hair looks great. Thats my opinion but it may vary on your hair complexity.

Liz is the best masseuse Ive encountered and thats saying a lot. Ive had massages in more places (and countries) than I can count, but I visit Bangz every few months just to see Liz. She has an uncanny ability to seek out knots and tension and work them out. Its not just a massage, its therapy! I always leave feeling great after a massage session with her. She is the BEST! If youre getting a facial, ask for Debra. She is phenomenal. My skin always looks amazing once shes done. Debra and Liz are the best of the best - you will not be disappointed. They are worth every penny.

Back, before I started losing my hair, I used to get my hair cut with Kim at Bangz old location in Montclair... when they moved to their new location, and it was a heck of a lot easier for me to just buzz my own head down with a 00000 blade, I would refer girlfriends (over the years) to Kim, and more recently, my own wife. Kim is an absolutely amazing hair stylist, who takes it very seriously, to an artform, but without the pretentious, snobby, pompous or arrogant attitude. Kim is a lovely, down-to-earth, artistic, creative, passionate, professional (as in, she has helped design and/or formulate new shampoos), and she is worth every penny! If Winona Ryder, Drew Barrymore, Nicole Kidman, or on the opposite side of the spectrum, Brandley Cooper, Tom Cruise and/or Keanu Reeves got their hair(s) cut with Kim, I am confident, they would all be very impressed! A+++++ all the way, and enthusiastically recommended to all walks of life.

Have been coming to Bangz for many years and have always been extremely pleased. Michelle M is my hair stylist and she gives a beautiful haircut and custom color. She also happens to be incredibly personable and I always enjoy our conversations. The facility is beautiful and very clean. The reception staff and greeter are always very nice on the phone and in person. I have also used the spa a handful of times when I was pregnant and Jane gives a wonderful prenatal massage. I highly recommend this salon and spa!!!

Every person there is so kind and helpful, its always a joy to get my hair cut. You know you have a great stylist when they talk about your wants prior to washing, where they can get a feel for its volume, natural part, thickness, and curl in its natural state - every stylist at Bangz does this. The hair washing station is comfy, the people are awesome, and it feels so good to get a mini scalp massage. Every person who spots you along the way will offer to get you a coffee/drink/snack (and their coffee is GOOD!). Ive seen multiple stylists, theyre all good. However, after meeting Andy hes the only person who will ever touch my hair again. He is AMAZING. In my first cut with him I went from long hair to a pixie cut - something not easily fixed if you have a bad stylist, so you REALLY want to trust the person doing it! It was better than I had imagined. Since then, weve played with my cut quite a bit, and every single time I leave there completely delighted. On top of his incredible skills, he is so much fun to talk to and has a beautiful soul. Trust me, youll love Bangz, and if you choose Andy youll be delighted with the outcome (and the conversation!) and will spend the time between cuts looking forward to your next time in his chair!

I hate to say this, but they ruined my cousins wedding day .I made an appointment weeks prior for my cousins hair for her wedding day, the day of the wedding she arrives to be told that it’s on a completely different day with a completely different stylist .I love my stylist but this schedule mess up as happened to me before . My cousin left crying out of the salon. So embarrassing since today was suppose to be a smooth day for her .Where I’ve gone to salon only to be told my appointment is the next day with someone else .I called to see if there’s anything they could do as it was confirmed with the stylist via messaging and over the phone when I initially made the appointment. The manager over the phone Seemed unsympathetic and dismissed my phone call and told me that she could give me an email to resolve my problems when I asked to speak to another person whose in charge she stated that she was a manager and I said OK no problem. Sad to say this but I was a loyal client not anymore. Completely unprofessional

This is such a great salon... I have never had a bad experience here. My stylist is Morgan and she is amazing. She always has ideas of how to change my style up, but is always happy to just freshen it up if I chicken out at the last second (Ive only done that once per twice! Her ideas are amazing!) And Im a bit of a tomboy but I like to dress up and look good every once in a while. She knows how to cut my hair so that when I dry it, it actually looks good and not like a mass of debris! And when you first walk in to the salon, the staff is so warm and receptive. Same with the crew that washes your hair. Just a great experience from top to bottom, but centering around my star Morgan!!!

She was the only one that troy devoted the needed time to make sure there was no miscommunication. She doesnt text or gossip or disappear. When youre in her care, shes completely hands-on and aware of you. Loved her!Downside: The place is busy, and Marcella is hard to book. Ive stopped going because i now work full-time and was finding I had to book months in advance to get her on a weekend. That said, its for good reason. Im sad to have moved to another salon.I go somewhere else now, and I look like a predatory bird with my new haircut.:(

Large nice salon. Good service. Love my stylist, Fallon. She is new to this salon so on the cheapest level but experienced before Bangz so shes a great deal. Reception desk tends to have attitude (thats why 4 stars.) And it feels a little like a barn because the space is so large and not intimate.

I have been going here for over 10 years and love my guy Cory. He does a fantastic job with color! I could have my sister in law do my color at her salon for free but I dont. I just wont leave Cory. He has my color formula so perfect I get so many compliments on my hair and I am always saying you gotta go to him.

This amazing, renovated church is a delicious use for an upscale salon. I googled “best salons in nj” and this place came up, I called, and they had an opening within 2 hours... Natalie was my stylist and she is AMAZING. My cut is gorgeous. I brought a picture and she was able to recreate the look exactly! I couldn’t be more happy or impressed. Also, the shampoo was an experience. I forgot the woman’s name, maybe Yolanda? She massaged the temples, she brushed out my very long and tangled hair without me feeling a thing.My cut from Natalie was $70, but not for long. She is new, and they don’t know what a gem they have. Natalie’s prices are definitely going to go up once they realize how talented she is.

Andy is amazing. I always loved long hair and for the past 10 years I have kept long hair cuts- hated the idea of going short. Andy convinced me to get a lob a couple months back and it was the BEST hair decision Ive ever made. Love it, its sleek/fun/professional, just fantastic.He also cut my moms hair a few months after she had double brain surgery and had to shave 1/ 2 her head. Went here for a haircut! I booked my appointment by phone but I didnt give details on my hair type so when I arrived the stylist assigned to me did not have much experience with my hair (4c kinky coily) so I was reassigned to a much more experienced stylist for the same price and walked out with a fabulous haircut! The staff here is stupendous! Even the shampooers were amazing and gentle. The manager was very professional and charismatic! Also the salon was very clean.

I just went here for the first time for a wash/haircut/blowout and it is my new favorite salon! Ask for Erika, she was so sweet and does an amazing job with both the cut and blowout. She also understands curly hair very well and was quick but not rushed. You may spend $20 more than you would at a regular salon but its worth it, especially if youre like me and get a haircut only once or twice a year.

He is super easy going, very friendly, and whats most important, he consistently gives me the best haircut! I always feel great after I leave Bangz. A great all around salon thatll do just about anything you want done to your hair. The location itself is gorgeous and very clean. They do a high volume (good for them!) so it may feel a bit impersonal compared to other, smaller local hair cutting joints, but its without a doubt one of the best choices in the area.

I had a perm today and OMG I loved it. Phyllis did an amazing job. My experience from begging to end was amazing. I dont like going to beauty salons but this time I enjoyed it so much. The aesthetics and location are truly amazing, the entire crew is super friendly.Christie anna did my French manicure and sadly she wasn’t good at that particular style. After four days I had to go back in for a re do, which was free of charge that was nice but within days they started chipping away. The white lines weren’t straight, they chipped off the next day for both the times I went.She originally does hair and told me she usually doesn’t do nails, just as a fill in for their nail tech. She was very sweet to talk to each time and we mainly talked about my hair but her hands were very shaky the whole time and I feel it would be better for her to stick to her main talent which she’s very good and knowledgeable in.

Tried bangz for the Deva cut for curly hair. Corey cut my hair and did a fantastic job. I have very curly hair that gets frizzy and thin on the ends. He really took his time and explained everything. He knows ALOT about curly hair and you can tell he is passionate about his job. I left knowing a lot more about how to style and care of my hair properly. They also sell lots of great products. The Deva cut is a bit pricey but I only cut my hair 2-3 times per year so I felt it was reasonable. Make an appointment in advance.

Between myself and Robin all was perfect. She was sweet, friendly and professional. Perfect haircut. Only problem is the music. It is so load, that neither of us can hear each other. Between the noise of the equipment and the music on top, it made it uncomfortable. You should really consider dropping the music at least 25%. After all, Bangz is a hair salon and not a disco.

So happy Sue LaRiccia is back! Such a GREAT colorist! Shes been giving me great looking hair over 15 years! Sue ONLY does color, so she can focus on what she does BEST! Now if we can just get back to her old, roomier corner of the salon ... ;)

Although the place is good they seem to overcharge you constantly. Be careful, if the stylist youre looking for is unavailable, they book you with someone else and charge you twice or three times the price, claiming theyre a better stylist. Coming into this salon as both a massage therapist who is familiar with salon/spa settings, as well as the roommate of a previous employee, I was really excited for my service!Boy, was I let down.After verbally wrestling with the front desk staff to get checked in (the entire reception staff seemed to fit the title of young and dumb, and I say this as someone as someone in their 20s), no one made any attempts towards offering a beverage or to check my coat (despite signage requesting as much). Okay I guess, I think. Maybe theres just a lackluster front of house staff, goodness knows Ive seen it plenty. Doesnt mean I wont get a quality cut!Well, then I meet my stylist. He was within the 1st proper tier (meaning he was out of academy styling, and onto the higher cost tiers of stylist), and I was bringing him a technical, but fairly easy haircut to reproduce. I described wanting a long bob, where the back was to the nape of my neck, and the front length was my current length, minus the dead ends (about 3-4 past my shoulders). Nothing too fancy, really. I brought references and everything. Hes very stoic, asks very little, and only takes two quick glances at my photos before starting in the front. I knew I was screwed after the first cut. He pulls the hair to length, shows and asks me if he has the right length, I agree to where hes indicating. He then LETS GO of the hair, remeasures, and lops my hair off, straight across, 2 inches higher than the original agreed upon length. I was speechless. When he blow-dried it, there was no angling at all, no change in length from front to back, just a boring, chin-length mom haircut. I was mortified. I havent felt as ugly and defeated as I did leaving Bangz since I was a kid and had a run in with some bubblegum. Ive had to fashion some weft clip extensions to feel truly comfortable going out and about. To top it off, despite knowing they have commission incentives, no one spoke to me about products, offered to get my coat returned to me (after having to ask if I needed to check it in the first place), AND the receptionist didnt ask if Id like to leave a gratuity for my stylist, which despite the bad service, is something that should AL WA US be asked in the service industry. Id give them 0 stars if I could.

I have been a client of Bangz Salon and Anna (my hair stylist) since I moved to the area about 2 1/2 years ago, and Anna does an outstanding job every single time. I am very picky about my hair, but Anna is patient with me and really listens to what I am asking for. Each time I see her, even though Im a long time client, she still consults with me prior to starting the process. I usually get full or partial highlights, a cut and blowdry, and every time I leave the salon, I feel amazingly beautiful. I love Bangz and I would highly recommend this salon for its professionalism, cleanliness and overall order, and I would absolutely recommend Anna for hair services.

My girlfriend schedule an appt here, outcome was great. I had to tag along...but I can say the structure and interior was impressive. The services they offer are extensive ongoing mens styling and spa/massage treatments, and fortunately for me it is walking distance from a number of restaurants and coffee shops.

Ive sent countless people to her and they say the same thing. this particular salon has a great vibe, too. everyone is so pleasant and polite. highly recommend! (ps: Im a hair dressers worst nightmare, Im so picky)

I paid $70 for a bang trim and layers, stylist was in a hurry and did a pretty terrible job, missed a big spot on my bangs that was sticking out. I cut my own hair now, it looks fantastic and its free, stop wasting your money.

Ab-so-lute-ly won-der-ful. I have nothing bad to say other than I wish they had robes that ran bigger than XXL for their larger clients in the spa. I came here with my sister and we really enjoyed our time but trying to find robes that fit us was such a time kill. The service is spectacular though. A++

Terrible, I went there to get a haircut and the lady didnt know how to cut men hair, even though they said they did. My hair was completely ruined.

I was never impressed worth the work shown on the website or social media, so I would never choose to go here, but after getting a $200 gift card I said why not try it (for free lol).. Scheduled my first appointment the Sunday after Thanksgiving for a straight cut haircut with no layers or anything, and when I got home with better lighting I noticed my hair was all jagged at the ends and the blow out was flat! Instantly decided to never get my hair done there again, so I scheduled my next appointment for 2 weeks later for a premium gel manicure as pedicure. I kid you not, 3 DAYS later and 2 of my gels are Almost completely peeled off. Even though it was free I still wasted over a whopping $100 for this mani pedi. For being so upscale, the UV lights had to be plugged into the wall and used one hand at a time.. Cheap if you ask me. I also spent almost 2 hours in discomfort because it was freezing in the spa. Also note: in the 2 hours I was there, I was the ONLY client with ONE employee in the spa... What a joke for a high end, popular business. Staff is unfriendly and snooty. I actually sent them a message on their website yesterday..no response. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, ID GIVE THIS ZERO STARS IF I COULD!

I went to this place to get a layered haircut. But the person who did my hair just did a trim and did not try to add any layers. When I refused blow drying of my hair, she was rude and said in a demeaning tone, “blow drying doesn’t damage hair but flat iron does. Do you even know what a flat iron is?” On top of that she charged me twice than my normal salon. I had a horrible experience and would never go again to this place.

This is an ok salon. I got a haircut and asked for long layers. They came out choppy, too short, and looks asymmetric in some places.I’ve had better haircuts at the same price point, which is probably why I had too high of expectations.

I get my hair color with Sue, I am very picky with my hair and she’s great. I been coming here for the past year and I love it.

Ive been going to Bangz for about 6 years now. Ive had both great service there and terrible service. One time, I brought in a picture of a bob cut. A bob is the simplest thing for an experienced stylist to do. I asked for it to be longer in the front and stacked up higher in the back. He did the exact opposite. He gave me something like a mullet. I was horrified. I paid, walked outside and cried.Then, I turned right back around and said that I wanted another stylist to fix it right then and there. They gave me to someone else who then did the BEST job ever fixing the other guys mess. I stuck with that guy for a few years until he, unfortunately moved away. I didnt really want to go to Bangz anymore, so I tried to find other stylists that I liked at other places, but they were all mediocre, so.....One day, I walked into Bangz on a Sunday and asked if there were any appointments for that day. The receptionist said no, that they were closed the next day on Monday, and offered to make an appointment for me on Tuesday. So, I came back two days later on Tuesday only to be told that my appointment wasnt until the FOLLOWING Tuesday - a week later. Really? What kind of stupid are they hiring at Bangz?Ive gotten massages there, too, and Ill never get one again. When getting a full body Swedish massage, I asked the masseuse to use a little more pressure and she actually refused. She said that Id booked a type of massage that only used a light touch. Wouldnt you just do what the customer asked?My current stylist is awesome. I took a chance and asked for someone with the same kind of hair as me. Shannon is great. Thus, Im on an upswing with Bangz now and am liking it. Im going today, but who knows what will happen?

A big tks to Sue, my colorist, amazing person and a terrific professional. She knows I have allergies and she is always very careful with my scalp. She wouldnt do anything to damage my hair even if I wanted lol. Morgan cuts my hair and I couldnt be happier as well. Love both. Thank you.

I had such a terrible experience at this place. My hair dressser was late ( which is fine with me) but she was so unkind and made rude comments to me. I felt a little humiliated with the way she spoke to me and I froze and didn’t say anything. She did a terrible job on my hair and didn’t want to fix it. Another person fixed her work. I just can’t stand this place. For what is worth the rest of the staff was pretty awesome to me.
