Horrible place to live. Apartment units were filthy when we moved in and badly damaged. The building is destroyed everywhere. Lights broken, wholes in walls. There’s always puke and broken glass everywhere. They don’t clean on weekends when it always needs to be cleaned. The elevator permits have been expired for months and one elevator is always broken. Now they have been taking away peoples parking despite it being on the lease they signed. They never will respond to email and don’t answer the phone in the middle of a week day. But cue their generic bs response below acting like they care.

Do not live at The Bridges. The worst management I have ever experienced. Move-in was a disaster. I stood in line for an hour to get my key while my family lugged my stuff for 2 blocks because there was nowhere to park. The apartment I received like it had been through a round of airsoft. There were dents in the fridge door, the floor is scratched and there are holes in doors. The refrigerator doesnt even close properly. You have to lean on it to get it to close and then the freezer pops open. We asked at move in if the doors would be replaced and were told no - that it was normal wear and tear. The locks on the bedroom doors dont work properly. We put in a fix it request. Maintenance looked at them and marked the request complete without doing anything. Management rarely responds to emails unless they get confused and think youre contacting them about renting an apartment. Then they promptly get back to you. The conditions in the public areas of the building are horrendous as well. They rarely upkeep the public bathrooms. For first 2 weeks, they had locked the trash room doors. The dumpster was full. Trash was littered everywhere as residents had no where to put it. You had to walk through trash to get to the elevator. Again, you have other options - use them and dont move to the Bridges

It has been almost a week and my email was never answered. I answer emails every day FOR A LIVING from hundreds of people. If you can’t answer basic questions about the rent I have already paid into, perhaps next year I’ll take my business elsewhere. How come Japan Post can deliver packages by SEA DURING A PANDEMIC faster than you can answer an electronic message by INTERNET? Whoever handles this needs to be fired immediately

DO NOT LIVE HERE. it is the worst management I have ever seen. Live at any other place on campus all around the same price. They show complete negligence when it comes to safety and security. Locked apartments have been broken into and they blame it on the residents. not to mention bikes are stolen from the bike cage on a regular basis. This apartment complex needs to be under investigation. Here are some photos of what it looks like on Saturday morning which dose not get cleaned up until Monday.

I haven’t even moved in yet and have already had multiple terrible experiences. One of my roommates was mistakenly taken off the lease for no reason. This issue took days to get taken care of. One of the bedrooms was missing a bed on the day we were supposed to move in. They also didn’t have my roommates key for her on move in day. They also take days to respond to emails and don’t answer the phone. I seriously regret signing a lease here.

This is my first year living at The Bridges and my roommates and I just resigned because we love it! It’s in a great location near campus and by the city, about 10 min to main campus and 20 min walking to stone arch. Maintenance was slow to respond at beginning of the year but has gotten better and all our problems are fixed currently. Wasn’t very clean when we moved in and there was a decent amount of damage. Fair price for sharing bedrooms in dinky town. The amenities seem very nice but unfortunately there’s not much access with covid restrictions. Hopefully next year we will get to enjoy those! Overall has been a great experience living at the Bridges!

This is my second year living at the Bridges. I love my apartment itself as it’s laid out nicely and has an amazing view of Minneapolis. The fixtures are cheap but that’s normal for the “luxury” apartments in Dinky. Management does a poor job but what do you expect when the workers have little training and are students themselves. I don’t get my packages until 2-3 days after they arrive due to poor organization and also continuously have issues of people parking in my spot without being towed. Great place to live if you like bad management and have no standards, otherwise avoid.

The bridges is a great apartment in so many ways, but there is some downsides that are not the best. The list of amazing things that come with the apartment is the location. Being a U of M student, it is a great distance from classes, from favorite food choices, and right down the street from the famous dinkytown target. Another great factor is the gym is two floors and has about everything you need. Some downsides are the apartment was not cleaned when we moved in. There are so many dents, scratches, and stains, which my roommates and I did not want to pay for. There also was an amenity fee that was not clarified when I toured, which is added to rent. This a little frustrating due to covid, almost all amenities, besides the gym, is closed. Overall, its a great place to live. In my opinion, it is very pricey for what you get, but it is an experience.

The only reason Im not giving one star is due to the physical appearance of the apartments. The Bridges is a very pretty place, but thats where the positive attributes end. The management refuses to hire enough workers to have a functioning building. The trash rooms become overrun with garbage, the outdoors areas get mowed and serviced only right before move in as to look good for new residents, and there are so few people in the office that you can rarely even get ahold of anyone for assistance. Not only that, but there is only one janitorial employee. I feel horrible for this woman. She is expected to clean 11 floors by herself. Not only that, but its 11 floors in a college apartment, so she is left with vomit, trash, food, and occasionally even feces to clean by herself. The Bridges is all show and no substance.

I lived here for a year, and Im so glad Im moving out. They are so slow to fix anything in your apartment or the floor. 9 out of 10 times they never pick up the phone when you need to call them. In addition, theyre incompetent. My roommate had flooding while I was out of town because the person one floor up fell asleep while the shower was running. My roommate called the maintenance number, and they said theyll file a work order for it. My roommate waited about a half hour while water kept spilling into the room before they called back. Turns out the maintenance person didnt think it was an emergency and they sent a person the second time they called. Theyre so slow to make a plan on anything regarding COVID openings as well. In May, they said they were going to make a plan to reopen, and they said the same thing in June. I just fully expect to never use the amenities again. The fun part about that is Im still paying the full amount despite not being able to use any of the stuff. We also have to move out halfway through the month of August but we are all still getting charged for the full month. And I *know* the management doesnt clean the rooms during that time because when we first moved in, my room was not cleaned and the additional desk and mattress request I filed for a month in advance wasnt there. I also heard multiple people having issues with their rooms being disgusting when they first moved in. I do not recommend coming here.

Honestly, its really a great place to live. The staff size is small right now and theyre doing the best they can. The people on here complaining about it are probably used to being spoon-fed and theyve never had to deal with the real world before. Some of what people call disgusting is literally a paint scratch on the wall. I know because thats what my roommate complained about before I explained to her how things work. The staff has NEVER refused or been unwilling to fix something that we needed to be fixed. Those people saying that are just disgruntled children mad at it happening in the first place. The rooms are really nice. Its a great place to live if youre a serious student. The people that party all the time wont do well here if they expect to get away with it. The only downside to this place (if you can really call it that) is probably the temporarily small-sized staff. Otherwise, its perfect.

As a previous employee and resident, Ive watched this building burn to the ground. A majority of the people running things are 20-23 years old and are extremely underpaid for the amount of work they were doing and information being handled. So if something doesnt add up, its probably because an undertrained 20 year old was in charge of it.I recently got towed here along with around 8 other people within less than an hour of being parked. Its move out month. People are moving out and the garage is packed (and terribly designed). They failed to enforce parking all year, then suddenly decide to enforce it and tow residents attempting to move out without any warning. At least send out an email letting people know even though it hasnt been enforced all year, towing will be enforced starting on the busiest month of the year (move out month). The girl in charge of towing seemed giddy about it and was laughing with the towing company when they arrived. When I worked here, Id at least make an attempt to find the owner and give them a warning first. Id certainly at least feel sympathy for them and offer to set up a meeting with management to discuss it. I figured they would at least give me the time of day to speak with them since I worked with them for 7 months, but have yet to hear back from anyone. Its been over a week. If they dont even care about a current resident/past employee, how can you expect them to care about their residents? They strive themselves on their company culture, but this building doesnt seem to follow those same values. Its disappointing to say the least.I could go on with stories, but this is just one example of the management group here. Im sorry for those who have to continue dealing with this.

Living at the The Bridges was perhaps the worst housing decision I ever could have made. Also, just a bit of a disclaimer for the students and others who have written review claiming that everybody on here giving the place a negative review has been spoon-feed or otherwise doesnt understand how the real world works, I encourage you to really consider the realities of your own situation. The Bridges is a business who has sold their promise of a luxury student housing option, boasting of spectacular amenities in order to justify charging you $1,200+ per room. They have an obligation to do simple things as a landlord and a business, so when incompetency in these areas is noticed repeatedly they are failing to maintain their obligation. It is our right to use this platform to report honestly regarding our experiences, and it is not unreasonable when the bar has been set so high for expectations to be high too. It is also disgraceful that it appears that some of these reviews seem to have been foraged by ghost writers. There were multiple days wherein vomit in the common areas was left for more than 10 hours without being cleaned. The students who lived here often trashed the other common areas, and were loud and created a negative living environment. The staff were also often not present, desk hours were irregular, and the email account given to tenants went unchecked for the entire 12 months that I lived there. Even something as simple as picking up a package meant waiting multiple days and working around the front desks schedule. The leasing staff do an excellent job of selling this place to prospective tenants, but after that do not expect much of anything from the staff. The bike parking was never once cleaned at any point when I lived there, I know because I noticed an apple core in my first week and watched in slowly decay over the next 12 months, along with my expectations and sanity. Not to mention the door to the bike room was broken for 9 months and was never fixed. Please, Im writing this to warn other students, save yourself $600 dollars per month to sleep in a bunk bed and do not live here! Now months after I moved out I have been getting emails about how the apartment was damaged. This whole situation has been utterly absurd and I cant imagine what alternate universe the other reviewers seem to occupy whereby they would consider this a 5/5 establishment.

Parents and Students Beware! We have two daughters living together at the Bridges. We chose the Bridges for the location and supposed locked and monitored front entrance and underground parking. We were willing to pay a higher rent as safety is our utmost concern.Over the past two years I have personally witnessed continued out of control partying, a young man being beaten in the hallway outside the girls apartment, CRAZY loud music at all hours of the night seven days a week, vandalism to lights, ceilings, walls, elevators, carpeting, etc. that take forever to be repaired and the constant smell of marijuana in the halls.I felt it necessary to call the police the night the young man was being beaten since I could find no one at the lobby desk as usual. The police did come and I witnessed literally 80 kids being escorted out of the building by the police from ONE apartment. I understand this is a college apartment and parties and noise are to be expected….but this is another level! In addition to the noise, partying, and vandalism we have become increasingly frustrated with staff. I completely agree with previous negative reviews. Staff is not at the desk at the times they are supposed to be. Calls and emails go unanswered for weeks. Each time you call or email or stop at the desk you get a different employee (young students) that don’t know what’s going on or don’t care. They “take a message” but you never hear back. Not sure where all of these messages go!?!To top it off, this year the leasing office messed up the girls lease renewal and gave their room to someone else. After 4 months of calls, emails, and personal visits nothing has been rectified. We are being told the girls need to move into a different apartment at the Bridges, pay higher rent, AND pay a relocation fee of $700 to do so. Money doesnt grow on trees so obviously we are very upset about this. The last response from the Bridges “Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything else”! wow.......We will be filing a complaint with the University and whoever else we can and DO NOT recommend the Bridges.

The staff at Bridges and Knoll is experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly! I am looking forward to touring both to see what it will be like to live there.
