At no time, should you ever consider this horrible staffed place. The only honest person was the maintenance man. The entire office staff were horrible. Never had anything done on time. Constant over charges, andwhen you move out. Get ready. Because they will inflate everything and try and screw you. Stay away from this place. They falsely accused us of being evicted. Reported us as evicted even when we have email proof from the manager LYING about it. Insanely dishonest people working here.

I have lived in Candlestick Lane apartments for a year now. I have never had any problems at all. I have a studio, it was clean and has faux hardwood floors, no carpet in my unit, it is an older unit but all appliances work fine. It has a nice walk in closet that I really like. Any issues I have had have been addressed in a timely manner. I walk my dogs late at night on the grounds and its quiet. I have honestly never had any problems or issues. Its been a great place for me and my two furbabies. Planning another year if my rent doesnt go up. Thank you!

Only been at this complex sense November but they are awesome people, quick service from the maintenance team as well as the really do give you that personal one-on-one feel which I always have liked more than just being known as this apartment number, like theyve actually spoken me by name which is neat. Also the complex is super clean super well laid out just overall a great place to live if youre looking. Also its very affordable.

I have lived in the Candlestick Apartments for 5 years April 2021. I would like to say that I really love it here. The covered parking is well lit and there are flood lights that come on just as the sun is setting for the evening. Its a nice quiet neighborhood. The management office team are very nice and easy to talk with. Theres a swimming pool that usually opens the Memorial weekend that is always kept clean and tables with umbrellas. It is also surrounded by lounging chairs that is spaced 6 feet for safety. The gym is well kept and has enough equipment for a full body workout. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I have lived here a little over 3 years and overall I have had a positive experience. I have found that this complex is much more affordable than anything else in the valley. Every time my lease has ended, I have shopped around and decided to stay because their rate increases are low, and I couldnt find a better deal without just renting a room. They are prompt to take care of maintenance needs, and their staff is pleasant. They are pet friendly and have low security deposits. However, they do have a mandatory cleaning fee when you move out. My neighbors have been kind and considerate for the most part, and I have never had any pest or security issues. I also love the beautiful, large trees here.🌳All of that being said I do think there are a few drawbacks, but many of these just come with living in an apartment complex. The late fees, the fee for breaking your lease, and the fee for moving to a larger or smaller apartment when your lease is up are all completely outrageous. In my opinion, the owners are taking advantage of the people who live here in that way. Thats just all apartment complexes though, unfortunately.I also really dont like that they are extremely lax about their employees wearing masks. If that one thing changed I would probably give them 5 stars in comparison to everywhere else I have lived. It really has mostly been a great experience. I will update if anything changes between now and when I move in about a month. I am leaving to buy my own home, not because of the complex.

I haven’t loved my place that I got. But I’ve never been in an apartment complex where the staff has really tried to help you. They’ve understood my financial situations and Amber was able to help me for a month that I was struggling. I’d give a 5 star to staff, I’ve been truly grateful for them during some of my tantrums 🙃 the first of the month always gave me a lot of anxiety cause In Herriman I was paying for a one bedroom for the same price for here but then had to take in consideration of the commute for my job and gas. I was just trying to save money and that didn’t end up happening. Anyways they were very professional and kind. Thanks amber, Anthony and Marian! I’m in a studio and once you accept it you can make the best of it and make it cute. I’ve had nice neighbors. I wish their gym was bigger but it’s has the basics!

Would not recommend. Not a very safe place to live. My neighbor was murdered while living there, often smelled of drugs, the walls were paper thin and could hear our neighbors constantly. Do you do background checks on employees who have access to our apartments? For example the Maintenance personnel? and there is really no way to enforce the covered parking rules,, I went with my son to see his place. These are the pictures I took. To fair, the front staff are really nice, I admit that the coffee free sodas and snacks, or complimentary refreshments are a nice touch. The trees are very aged so the grounds are fabulous. Affordable rent. Just get corporate to sink a bit of money into structural integrity and some fire safety, then youve got safe, affordable housing on a beautiful property, in a family environment.

I have been living in these residences for almost a year and I must say that together with my family we feel at home, the attention from the staff is excellent, the maintenance staff are attentive to any arrangement, it is very well located (quite central to go Downtown, mall and shops) and as a plus every Tuesday they offer us the option of a food truck (which is a relief for when you do not want to make dinner) ... really if you are looking for it to be your first apartment option, super recommended.

Ive enjoyed living here. Its quiet, calm and clean. The management is responsive and handle maintenance requests promptly. The only thing that I dont like is the way the utilities are split. Almost all the bad reviews come either from Karens who didnt respectfully talked assertively about an issue or wont assume personal responsibility for the issue. Very peaceful. I lived in the studio apartment with my husband for two years between 2016-2018. I cant say enough wonderful things about this place. While there were certainly some outdated appliances (which they were in the process of updating when we left), we found the location, layout, and overall environment to be nothing short of cozy and safe. Not to mention, I was so surprised to find a studio apartment that had so much storage AND a washer/dryer hookup. Its been two years since we moved away and I still talk about how much I miss our studio quite often. Highly recommend.

We do really like this place. The neighbors are friendly, as well as the staff. We are not picky or impatient, so maintenance works fast enough for our needs. The gym is simple, but nice, and also clean. The equipment works well. The pool area is absolutely gorgeous, and were excited to experience a summer here. It is on the expensive side, but they informed us of all the charges we would have before we ever signed on the lease. Its also a pretty good area, with a lot of fun places around. Its also right across the street from the Trax station with easy access.

If you are looking for apartments, stay very far away from this place. It looks okay on the outside until you live here. The facilities are aged but manageable, however the appliances in the apartments look like theyre from the freaking 70s. The only thing thats new is our washer/dryer. Dont bother trying to get replacement appliances if your stuff breaks down though, they just send maintenance in to tear open some stuff, tell you that they found nothing wrong, and then make you feel like its your fault that the APLLIANCE STILL WONT WORK. Our stove has one decent burner and weve been handwashing dishes for about a year now because our dishwasher doesnt actually clean dishes. Its like it just runs the water through and it leaves a greasy film behind. We finally just gave up trying to fight with these people about it. BTW, keep in mind this is what $1200+ dollars a month gets you.The absolute worst part about this place: MANAGEMENT. Management is useless. They dont care about their tenants at all unless money is involved. Our worst experiences have come from dealing with Maria in the front office. Shes rude on her best day.If you ignore all of this and fall for their garbage and move in anyways you better hope you dont get stuck on a bottom floor. Due a disability in our household we had to have a bottom floor apartment, but for some reason that means that we no longer have any rights to the quiet that everyone else is allowed to have. If you complain about noise (and im not talking about normal walking or vacuuming noise or something....Im talking kids running back and forth like track stars, dropping what sounds like freaking cinderblocks on the floor, screaming, shouting, and stomping through all hours of the night) you will get the same no-spine, non-commital, bullcrap answer: its just lower apartment living, we cant tell them to stop unless its after a certain time. But if you retaliate back and knock on the ceiling to try to shut people up at 10-11 pm? You get reprimanded and threatened by management. Calling the after hours/police about noise is useless too so basically you get dumped on if you are bottom floor. Seriously do not waste your time or money on this place. They do not care about you. You are nothing but a walking wallet. Anything else besides monetary concerns mean nothing to them and they have made that abundantly clear in so many ways to us.

When we got our keys, the carpet had the largest black stain that took over the entire dining room. This was noted to them as well as pictures took of it and given to them. When we move out because we dealt with 2 break ins because transients and drug addicts love the place they want to charge us 900 dollars to replace their carpets that they left with us in the first place. Did I mention they closed their office for a long time and had private contractors clean up their Asbestos problem? If I could I would literally give this business zero stars. I’m not one to write reviews ever. I usually don’t care too much to do so. But this company has been such a huge scam. When I first saw it I really loved it and was super excited to move in. I got approved for a studio apartment and was sent a “welcome home” number sheet, that I never signed. (Keep in mind I didn’t sign anything for these people) they took $299 without my signature. About a week later I got a call from David saying that the studio I applied for, the recent tenants chose to stay. Long story short, I didn’t like how unprofessional the staff was. When I asked to get a refund back they said it was unrefundable Which is true, but I didn’t sign! So I’m out $299 dollars. WHEN I CALLED TO TALK TO A MANAGER, Amber,, she honestly could care less about the situation. I was polite, until things escalated and Amber said I was playing victim. Not to mention David kept hitting on me the entire time. So really read the reviews! And listen to your gut feeling when coming to this place :)

Worst apartments Ive been a tenant for. The management is a nightmare to work with and is unprofessional, and very disorganized. I can never get my problems with my neighbors resolve. I was never late paying my rent, but when I went by the office to pay my rent I was told that they werent going to accept my rent payment practically forcing me out of my residence and find another place to live. Sad that they rather have dope dealers and people who use drugs right next to the kids playground then to have a small family trying to get on there feet. The walls are paper thin to the point were you can hear your neighbors either beat there dogs or vacuuming there apartment at 2 oclock in the morning, every morning. There is constant police cruisers driving with bright spotlights shinning through peoples windows, and people playing loud music while they drive through the complex. The office does not care about your privacy, even after they had ask me about my privacy. They still walked into your apartment without notice. Weve also have had a problem with our appliances either breaking on us, having rats and bedbugs our apartment and I have had no help from the office. If we need maintenance help, we would have to find the maintenance themselves. Needless to say dont waste your time and money with these people, all they want is your money until you constitutionally call them out on there BS. Im glad to be out of there environment and I will never return and never recommend this place to anyone.

Pros: Very quiet at night, well lit parking area, no bugs in apartment.Cons: Be prepared to pay an arm & a leg each month for water, sewage, etc. There are also a lot of fees when moving out. Paying for a covered parking spot is part of rent, but when someone did park in our spot, the office and towing company did not do anything to fix it. Some of the office staff are very nice, but we found that often they did not communicate well with one other. We could talk with one, and get a different answer from another. The maintenance staff are very nice, but our AC system did not work and often it would be above 80 degrees in our apartment. Because we had pets in our apartment, we needed the AC to function properly, but it took months, multiple maintenance staff, and countless maintenance requests in order to get it fixed.

First, I want to encourage all Candlestick Lane residents who are having extreme rodent issues, to call the Salt Lake County Health Department. I lived at Candlestick Lane for a short time, but the rodent issue was never properly addressed. There was a huge hole underneath the sink, and rodents were living in my stove. I called the health department, took advantage of a free legal consultation, and filed a report with the Rental Protection Agency. Now I live in a well maintained, rodent free complex, in a much better neighborhood. In addition to all those positive aspects, I am paying less for rent/utilities.The problem is that residents are not contacting the proper authorities. Call the news, health department, legal services, etc. Another good idea....read your lease carefully. Read over the health code. This complex is in violation of the state health code. And do not let them tell you that paying $2,000.00 is the only way you can break your lease. You deserve a better quality of life, and renters have rights.

This was my first real apartment I moved into. We moved in quickly, literally over the weekend we were in an apartment. I really only ever communicated with Tony in the office and Cory the maintenance dude. Both very nice. They were very understanding about rent (well Tony. The other lady isn’t too nice, but I only dealt with her once). It was a nice little apartment, wish there were lights. Overall I really didn’t hate living here, and am actually a little sad to leave. Now, i would be lying if I said there wasn’t some things that really sucked living here. if you need something fixed in this place they will not show up for forever. I asked to have a light fixed while we were out of town (considering there are no lights in the living room or master bedroom I was concerned about not having another light) and when we returned it was not fixed. When I called Tony he said that the maintenance people told him they’d already been there to fix it, but he’s put in another work order. Two days passed and nobody showed to fix it. I finally stopped Cory around the complex and asked when he was coming in to fix it, and he said nobody ever even told him it needed fixing. I don’t know who was telling the truth, regardless the communication between staff isn’t very good. Our water heater went out on a Sunday and the “emergency” maintenance line didn’t work. So just make sure you’re really getting them to put in your work orders when you call the first time.Oh, and another thing. I think it’s a little unfair to charge as much when the amenities couldn’t even be used. They started remodeling shortly after we moved in and said it’d be finished by November 2018. It’s still not done and we’ve moved out.

Candlestick is a nightmare. We couldnt move in our on agreed upon move in date due to the fact that they hadnt even started painting the apartment. We were in limbo for more than a week as we couldnt live with the paint fumes. We also tried several times to get a pool key, and it took several visits due to the office being so disorganized. When we received our key, they just wrote down the key number on a random pad of paper. We also had to call maintenance because the heating wasnt working (spent a week shivering in 60 degrees), and there was a leak in the closet where our heater was. Later, the garbage disposal stopped working, the sink filled to the brim with water. We knew that maintenance wouldnt get here in any timely enough manner to solve the problem before flooding. Most important to note, Candlestick apartment makes great efforts to gouge tenants in any way possible. Weve been paying fees for the upkeep of this place, while not being able to use the clubhouse, hopping over large puddles, and struggling to work with their towing company. You should not plan to receive any of your security deposit back. We passed the walk-through with flying colors, only to have charges added later. They told us we would need to replace the entire countertop due to scratches on the top, and we informed them we had pictures indicating they were there before we moved in (obviously they hadnt been replaced by the last tenant, though Im sure they were charged for it.) So the tactics changed. They informed us we would have to pay to replace all of the carpets due to pet odor. Again, we informed them we never had any pets. They were just trying to make us pay for their carpet replacement.Whether its tacked on fees, snide attitudes, or the stress of living in such a disorganized place, I HIGHLY recommend you live some place else. I really do.EDIT** After posting the review, I spoke to management about the move problems. They originally wouldnt accept our notice of vacating because they said their records had us there for another month. Because I keep all of my paperwork, I showed them that we signed a 12 months lease and had records of all of our move-in details. They continued to try and make us stay for an additional month. If you plan to live here, take pictures of everything, keep all of your records, and be prepared to $100 more each month to additional charges.

Another issue I had was I received from the office of candlestick lane for the Easter Egg hunt was for residents only and Maria brought her daughter who has Maria’s granddaughter and the way the Easter hunt was separated by ages her Granddaughter got first picks of everything under the age of 1 years old so her daughter could have saved an Easter basked for another residents daughter but because she is an assistant manager she can make up her own rules which there was another girl who was left out I even asked for one and she said sorry NO more which was disappointing in the events I seen. Today June 7,2019 I received a paper from candlestick management that said they were having a root beer float event from 4-6 pm, I’m keeping these as records, and to come join them for a pool party well me and my kids came for this event we seen Amber with the ice cream giving them out to residents only and I was talking to her she mentioned to me and my kids that they purchased blow up floats and toys for the kids to HAVE my son repeated on my phone recording we have all each have one she said yes, I mentioned to amber my son brought 2 of the toys that were popped and I deflated them and she said that’s fine keep them so I put them in my bag and then Maria come out after talking to Amber and when MARIA approached me asking how many do you have I said the two that were popped that amber is aware of and 3 for the kids I have I mentioned to Maria there was a mother who left with 5 of her kids they all had one and Maria said well it’s only 1 per family this paper says no where 1 per family if they knew this was going to be an issue they should have specified on the piece of paper but I see it as the apartments are suppose to be welcoming purchase more and consider ALL residents who live and pay rent here Maria argued with me i had to pull my kids out of the pool I left the two broken ones with Maria she needed them more when no one wanted them after Maria said I am taking all of the. Which I didn’t i took 3 and I even offered to fix the one with patches I had at my apt and bring them back and Maria kept arguing with me from this point on I want out if these apartments the parking is ridiculous they have a parking stall 2 buildings away from mine and will not offer me another one which I Mentioned to Amber about I have a recording of her saying this as well, that I can’t have it someone else on the third level deserves it more than me. This is not how I expected to be treated in any form we, me and my kids, feel so unwelcome and don’t plan on going to the office to resolve something a Manager makes her own rules on. Poor customer service for sure I don’t recommend it ever to anyone.

Horrible customer service. they lied to us about availability on an apartment. My wife called multiple times and confirmed with Maria we wanted a 2 bedroom apartment. They charged our cards and ran our credit. Maria called back and told my wife we were approved and we could move in to the studio apartment . We never asked for that and she tried to tell me my wife didnt understand and that it was a miscommunication but truth is, they just wanted to trap us into renting a more expensive apartment. When I called, Amber answered the phone and had no clue on what was going on. She even asked why Maria would even show us an apartment that had already been rented or even offered us one if nothing was available for another month.Again horrible customer service. I went in today for a refund on my application fee and I was told they hadnt given refunds before and to wait a couple of weeks for it. If I dont get anything in two weeks I will contact the BBB. Dont get trapped into anything. Be careful with these people.Update almost 2 months later and still no refund on the application fee

Worst experience renting in my life and definitely by far the worst experience renting from an apartment out of the four five Ive lived in. Slowest response time for customer service from the front desk and management Ive ever seen, crappie maintenance and yard keep cuz they blow the garbage under your cars and into your property if you live on the lower level like we did dont sweep up behind themselves, also a $50 surcharge just to pay rent online absolutely ridiculous Ive never seen such a rate in my entire life, paper thin walls you can hear everything going on from three levels above you and behind you so theres no peace and quiet, air conditioning never works, and even damaged that they did during Reconstruction to install washer and dryer hookups they charge us and leave us the bill at the end. I will never refer anyone to live here it is not a good place or environment to live in and was a waste of the money that they charge you a monthly rent. Anyone that has a right mind will never run from this place and well move on and keep scrolling cuz there are plenty of other apartments out there they will take care of you above and beyond what these people do. Spread the word far and wide to avoid Candlestick like its the plague and the people working there having other lives in the responsibility should be ashamed for how they treat their people that rent from there.

I absolutely love it here! Amber and the other girls in the office are so great to work with. If I call for a work order it gets done quickly. I have called in the middle of the night for my heater and he was there within 20 minutes. I feel like I can call the office and they take care of my problems. Amber helped me out and waived late fees for me. It was my first time being late and I just changed jobs. It was hard. Amber worked with me. When I call and get Jessica, she does what she can to take care of my complaint. Thank you for all you girls do for me! I love it here. The apartments arent brand new but I cant afford brand new. This works for me. I have referred people to move here because they also give me $300 off my rent as a finder’s fee. That helps me a lot too. I really like the neighborhood; how its not on the main road. Mike and his maintenance staff usually fix any problems the same day I report it. Never had any neighbor problems. Parking is well lit when I come home late, and I never feel threatened. I have been treated with honesty and respect.

So, I lived here about a year ago. I didnt really do any looking into the place before I moved in...when I did start looking into it I really began freaking out. Its really not as bad a people make it out to be.Yes, the manager is a bit creepy, but the ladies that work in he office are nice and the guys who do the maintenance on the apartments are nice as well. If I ever had an issue with the apartment they were fairly quick to fix it, usually within the day or the next day at the latest. I had no issues with mold, no leaking appliances. When I first moved in there were police there fairly often, but it seems that near the end of my lease people were either way more sneaky with their miss doings or there werent as many people living there who were committing crimes.I lived on the bottom floor, garden level if you will, and never had issues with people trying to break in, which would be fairly easy to do in a garden level apartment. My car was also safe the year that I lived there. Nobody damaged it or attempted to steal it. There is always uncovered parking available which is nice. When I decided to leave to find a new apartment I was late giving my months notice since I wasnt sure of the exact date that my lease ended. I told one of the ladies in the office and she told me not to worry about it and that it would be okay. They could have easily charged me for this little thing and kept me there an extra month, but they didnt. The apartments are a bit outdated and could use a face lift. Also, the cabinets arent that attractive either. But the overall set up of the apartment isnt that bad and there is a decent amount of room. The most amount of hassle I had was from this middle aged lady who lived in the apartments across the road from us...she would always walk by and ask about our cat.Anyway, long story short its not as bad as it seems. If youre in a pinch and youre considering this place its not going to be the end of the world.

This was my first time moving out. I was told by Tony that we were getting a renovation apartment brand new appliances, new carpet, fresh paint all that Jazz. We move in and our fridge had a horrible smell. Stains on our carpet (dark stains and white paint). Our blinds had been bent before moving in. Our porch/balcony had spray paint all over it. My roommates bathroom door was broken as if someone has kicked it in (took them 2 months to come fix after being told it would be fixed that same week we moved in). Our bathroom had mold all over it, took them just as long to fix it. The mold came back and I had to tell them twice before they came and “took care of it.” Our stove was and is broken cooks all our food un-evenly the bathroom had writing in it there was dead bug in all of our lights and mouse droppings everywhere. We have the worst mouse problem ever. When we moved in there were decaying mice in one of our kitchen cabinets and they told us they couldn’t remove them permanently, a few days later there were still mice so we talked to the office again and they simply said there was nothing they could do except set traps and hope it works. Well, the traps don’t work, we have to set our mouse traps daily (we have 5 of them) because we catch them every day. This was the worst experience of moving out.

I am writing this review about my lease and move-in experience. It was excellent. Since I was moving my son from the Dallas area to the Salt Lake area, I needed a solid and secure online processing experience. I was able to see available units including availability dates, once selected, I was able to apply via a secure online application. I was called shortly thereafter by friendly staff to validate my needs. The approval came back very quickly and I was sent a welcome sheet and online lease document by email. I completed that and everything else was just a short list of typical items (Insurance, proof of income, a bill with an address, etc.).It was a grueling tiresome drive from Dallas. The staff were VERY understanding of our fatigue and zipped us right through the formalities once we arrived.Thank you 🙏

This apartment complex has terrible management. Maria is very dismissive of your needs and shes constantly forgetting to tell you things or putting the wrong notice on your apartment thats supposed to be for somebody else. Most of the neighbors are incredibly loud, more than expected in an apartment complex. All of the appliance places are outdated and we found out that our washing machine was recalled in the 90s for catching on fire. They say they do background checks but Ive spoken to several tenants I have major convictions against them including burglary and domestic abuse. When we moved out we were told that the final move out bill would be mail to us. About two months later, I get a phone call from them asking where our first payment is and was told that it was emailed to me 2 weeks ago. I never received anything from the apartment office until that phone call. The miscommunications around the office are appauling. you are told one thing by one office manager and then told another thing by a different office manager and you were then penalized because you were going off of what you were told initially. Please heed my warning and take your business elsewhere unless you absolutely cannot help it. There are better apartments to live in for the same price with better amenities.

Moving into these apartments they don’t give you a proper tour of the apartments they just say this is the displace the apartments your going to move I to all have carpet, no fire place and the bathrooms do not look as displayed nor do they clean the carpets especially leaning cat urine and don’t change the carpet also their management is the worse Maria was more concerned about showing me baby pictures of her grand daughter and was always on her phone and always says I don’t know talk to Amber, I don’t know why she has a position she doesn’t know anything when you ask her about anything she always seems so confused about any concerns or questions she has but is okay eating her food and talking about her family and boyfriend. Amber absolutely doesn’t make sense when it comes to parking stalls I guess your not assigned to the stall that would match your apartment number so your put in a stall that is 2 buildings away from yours and it makes loading groceries difficult in any circumstances if your an elderly person, pregnant or have children or any medical concerns it only makes sense apparent to the company that amber says it’s their policy and she only works for them but also has changed stories why they change stalls apparently if you live on the 3rd floor you can rsvp parking stall right by your apartment which makes no sense if someone is able to to walk 3Flights of stairs why would they get their parking stall close to them rattan than someone who is on the second or first level? Help me make sense of all of this because I’ve never been treated with disrespect also they don’t pick up theirs phone when you call with concerns someone you have to call the er line to have them only get a hold of them because as a resident you don’t matter in my eyes and they don’t care if your upstairs neighbors harass you or pound they do nothing about it they just said ok I’ll just try and talk to them.

The way they treat people is very unprofessional and rude. I have been living here for a long time and it wasnt always like this but trust me when I say youre better off finding somewhere else to live. Its not just the management either, the apartments are poorly cared for to the point where they are prone to being infested with mice and bed bugs. My family has had to deal with this and when we addressed this problem to the management office, they were absolutely no help and pretty much didnt care. And to top it off, the maintenance crew can be highly unreliable, taking forever to come by to fix a simple problem. We are finally planning on moving. Candlestick Lane Apartments are by far the worst apartments I’ve ever rented from. I mean this in the most serious way. The office staff are SO rude, especially Maria. Maria needs to be fired or at least trained on how to have basic respect/decency for residents. I was paying $1000 for a 640 sqare foot outdated apartment. Not even including utilities which are closer to $300. The water bill is split between the whole complex (average water bill was $98). These apartments were built in the 80’s and are SO outdated. All appliances don’t work and if they do it’s only a matter of time before they start to go out and not work at all. I lived here for over a year and I’ve never been treated so poorly by the other residents and staff. This place is disgusting and charges WAY too much for the apartments and location. Cops are always being called and DEA have raided the apartment building I was living in TWICE. Not to mention when we moved out they forced us to stay there an additional 60 days or pay $2000 up front. It was torture living in a box that small and ugly. They are starting to renovate the apartments, FINALLY. I’m surprised they have the money to do so. I received a move out bill of $600. I made a payment and MARIA had the AUDACITY to charge me an additional $600 to tear up the carpet all though they are replacing every apartment with tile? Please, don’t waste your time and even look at this place. You will regret it, I promise.-VERY infuriated 1+ yr resident.

Okay, so I knew the place was rundown, but I thought I could stick it out for a year, while I save up to buy a condo. I had NO idea the place was overrun with rodents and bed bugs. I am so sad that I live here! I am trying my hardest to find a way to get out of this lease. This is by far, the worst place Ive ever lived, and that includes tiny dorm rooms, and rundown off campus apartments. For the first month and a half of my lease, I was traveling a lot, so I had no idea how bad things were. However, the first full week of being in the apartment on a daily basis revealed some rather interesting findings. Each time you or your neighbors take a shower, the water tank makes weird noises for about 20 minutes after youre done, and the water in the bathroom has a faint chemical smell. The refrigerator motor is pretty darn loud, and if I dont close both bedroom doors, it wakes me up at night. Since the apartment is full of old appliances that creak and crackle at will, you may be able to understand why I thought the noises coming from my stove were simply more old appliance sounds.I noticed that my stove would usually make a lot of noise after I prepared a meal, and I thought it was the metal cooling. The noise has been occurring since I moved in, so when I saw a mouse climb out of the back burner of my stove, I almost fainted. The stealthy creature pounced out of stove and ran into the sink. Of course, I immediately reported this issue. There was no shock or surprise on the managers face, so that lets me know that a mouse in a stove is not a big deal around here. What further reinforced this theory was the fact that the maintenance guy (who couldnt even turn off the music he was playing on his phone so I could talk with him), came in and put one glue trap by the water heater, and another by the refrigerator. The mice are coming out of the stove, I said. He looked at me and said, yeah, before leaving the apartment. Needless to say, mice continued to come out of the back burner of the stove.I reported the problem again, stressing that the mice are coming out of the stove. The exterminator came by and dropped rat poison behind the stove. Once again, I was like Hey, so they are coming out of the stove. He asked for some peanut butter, spread it on a glue trap, and sat it next to the burner. I cringed at this for two reasons: a. I tried that with the trap by the refrigerator, and mouse was able to unhinge himself, leaving behind his tail. b. A live mouse pulling itself apart on a glue trap, squealing and writhing, is disgusting and cruel, and it presents a bit of a moral dilemma-do I kill the rodent, or let it rip its body apart? Personally, I would rather just keep the mice out of the apartment, opposed to murdering the darn thing, or having it eat poison and die somewhere else, where a natural predator may eat the corpse, and in turn, consume the poison and foul up the ecosystem...I asked the exterminator if we should check for holes that needed to be patched, and he told me, I told them what needed to be patched months ago.Yes, I looked over the apartment when I first moved in and completed the checklist. However, the only way I would have seen a nest of mice inside of the stove, is if I had dismantled the darn thing. Since no one was living in the apartment at the time, the stove would have likely been a nice nest, but there werent any food sources, so the mice likely would have nested in the stove, and went elsewhere for food. I have not seen any mice for a few days (after buying my own pest control apparatus), but lets be real. There is rodent waste inside of the stove. Rodents carry diseases. Should I have to tell these people that its time to find and patch the holes in the apartment, and replace the stove?I will never, ever have any company while I live here, and I will try my best to find other places to stay while I am stuck in this lease. Please, please heed these words. I dont want anyone else to live under these conditions.

UPDATE: We moved out of these apartments almost over a month ago and got told we would receive our final bill in the mail. Well we did and it was over $900 for cleaning fees, carpet replacement, blinds replacement, and appliance parts replacement; the bill also stated that we didnt pay our last utility bill through them, which is a complete lie because I paid it along with the last months rent. Now we are here trying to figure out how to pay this bill when none of it was even our doing/fault. Everything they stated in the final bill was already damaged/missing on our move-in date and was stated in the move-in date paperwork. Yet, they still are trying to go after us for these damages. DONT trust these slimy, pathetic, disrespectful, money-stealing apartments or the staff with your service or money. They will lie straight to your face and then say that you were the one who misunderstood when they clearly are the ones who dont have any good communication skills whatsoever. WORST apartments and staff ever.If I could give this horrendous, money stealing, pathetic excuse of an apartment complex and all the staff 0 stars, I would in a heartbeat. This was my first time moving out and I regret choosing these apartments. My roommates and I were told by Tony that when we moved in our apartment would be a fully renovated one and all the appliances would be up to date and working perfectly. Tony lied. When we moved in, our apartment was a complete nightmare to walk into. There were black stains and white paint covering the carpet throughout the whole unit, there were bugs and their nests trapped in the lights, the master bedroom had a gaping hole in the wall that they couldnt explain, the master bathroom had mold covering the shower ceiling, the 2nd bedroom was infested with all different kinds of spiders, the 2nd bathroom has graffiti all over the side of the counter sink and the door was kicked in, our A/C has never worked it either freezes or doesnt even turn on, all the ceilings and walls throughout the whole unit have holes and hooks and squares, our kitchen is infested with mice we cant even use half the cupboards because they reek of mouse urine. We recently got a cat because the mouse problem is so bad and management/maintenance have refused to do anything about it, we got charged $400 because we didnt tell them about our cat as soon as possible which she catches mice daily by the way, our stove doesnt cook food evenly because the connectors in it arent hooked up completely and properly, all of the sinks make this horrible sound when turned on, our patio/balcony was covered in spray paint, there are always Police/DEA, you can hear everything from your next door neighbor or the people above/below you to everything thats going on outside. They had contractors come in to power wash the balconies and front entries, well today they power washed our front entry and when we got home there was water dripping in from our bedroom window leaving water damage on the wall and damaging/staining our bed pillows. We have never opened our bedroom window and have even made sure its completely shut and it is, so how did water get in? These apartments are cheap, overpriced, and ghetto. The management and staff are completely rude and unprofessional. This complex is the most unsafe, unsanitary, and unprofessional one Ive ever seen/walked through/lived in. They always say they will come and take care of any maintenance issues we have but its almost been a year and nothing has gotten fixed or resolved. They have repeatedly come into our unit without our permission and who knows what they did/went through. I regret moving here while I was pregnant and bringing my daughter home to this environment after she was born. Dont move in or even look here, especially if you have children, its a complete waste of time and money. We are so happy to be moving out in a few weeks and being in a healthier, safer, and overall nicer environment.

Then Amber came along and her crew. At first, Amber seems very stuck up, non caring, rude, but you learn to just get over it and move on. No more complaints there. But the other girls in the office have the worst attitudes. Im sure you can tell by looking at the other reviews but they have no concern for peoples livley hood, they show no professionalism, very confrontational, no integrity. Yet I sign another lease because I am 23 years old, I have no family, and with bad credit, they never ask me to go through the whole move in process. So I settle. IT WILL NOT happen again unless these apartments were to be taken down and rebuilt again and they get all new staff. Do yourself a favor and do your research. I have been here a couple of years, I have not had any problems with any of the staff here. I have worked with Jessika on several occasions. I have had questions about the lease and the policies and she has been very direct about what they have needed from me so I can continue to live here. I had a huge issue with my renters insurance and Jessika contacted my agent and made sure that they had the paperwork they needed. I couldnt get anywhere with my renters insurance agent. Jessika called him directly and got everything done. what could have been a very frustrating experience was made easier because of her. I have worked with her exclusively and have not had a bad experience, she is professional and knows the policies of candlestick lane very well.

My husband and I lived here for a year and if we could have gotten out sooner we would have. The place as a whole is very dingy, the apartments, the grounds, the front office, the laundry room, the pool area, everything is poorly maintained. There is dog poop everywhere and there are muddy sinkholes that are causing the walkways to cave in.On the date of our move in we had an issue with the front office because they changed management companies within the month of us paying our deposit and moving in. They gave us the wrong key and then when we tried to move out, they tried charging us for the wrong key they gave us. The carpets and walls were wet when we moved in, because the carpets were wet the carpet became dirty. The appliances are TERRIBLE. The fridge and freezer froze over so many times, there were inches of ice covering the top of both the freezer and fridge. The microwave had only a dial and no turn table. The stove had three small burners and one medium size. The dishwasher never fully cleaned the dishes and was constantly pooling with water even after it was cleaned. Our disposal bottomed out of the sink and when we called maintenance he said he wouldnt be able to make it out until the next day and that he would give us a call. He never showed up and we ended up having to fix it ourselves. When they would have their annual maintenance check up, our filter was never changed. We didnt love neighbors either, for the first few months there were kids climbing allover our car and their parents did nothing about it. We had rocks and toys thrown at/towards the car and when we told the front office they couldnt care less. Not to mention the cops are there at least once a week. Please, please, please do not move here. The cheap rent is no where near worth it. Our entire experience here was a terrible one.

UPDATE: Dispite their attempt to change how people see them by replying with a prewritten note stating that they actually care and want to make things right I’m sure everyone that sees this or any other person that wrote a one star review can see that they don’t care whatsoever. We just got charged the last of our move out fees which were about $1000 for living there for a year and not having new carpet or anything. We told them what day we would be able to pay it and when my girlfriend went in today to pay off the final balance they were trying to refuse to give her a receipt. They are shady, rude, disrespectful people. I ended up paying way more to live here than at royal ridge which on paper was more expensive. Everybody there needs to be fired and replaced. EVERYBODY. All I can say is they are absolutely dispicable and I hope I never have to deal with anybody like them again for the rest of my life which shouldn’t be hard considering I don’t hang around criminals.(How is it that there are innocent people in jail and these crooks are all good? Because they have highly paid corporate lawyers. And you going to court with them is like a joke. )Well besides my friend who rents at Candlestick Lane getting a notice on his door saying that he needed to give a 60 day notice of move out date 30 days before his move out date (now getting charged an extra month of rent. . .) We are currently about to be charged $400 a $200 fee and a $200 deposit because we got a cat to take care of the insane mouse problem here. All maintenance does is place sticky traps. There are several rotting mouse carcasses in our cupboard. This place is disgusting and not as well priced as it seems. If you have a baby like we do I would not recommend moving here unless you are going to clean the whole apartment when you get here ( dryer hose, bathroom fans, inside the lights on the ceiling because ours was filled with dead bugs, cupboards that are filled with mouse droppings and the wood soaked with mouse urine. You may also want to be aware that nobody here’s AC works. Our AC hasn’t worked since we moved in but worked slightly for about a month after they came and fixed it, the AC also freezes regularly so you have to turn it completely off, let it thaw, and then reheat your house which runs your electric bill up quite a bit. I don’t believe when there is an existing health problem like this and we have a baby in the house we should be charged anything since their “solution” results in dead mice everywhere. On the cupboards, on the carpet, really anywhere they can get to which is just about everywhere. I guess we will just pay that $400 so they don’t ruin our credit. Our cat will continue to take care of the problem that they “took care of” traps are like putting a bandaid on a broken leg in this place. Don’t rent here if you have any other option. Everybody I know that used to live here told me not to move here and I regret not taking their advice.

I called on a weekend to ask if any 1 BR rooms were available, got a machine and my call was never returned. Finally reached someone later that week who said they didnt have any 1BRs for demo available at the time but I could look at a 2 BR.I came after work to look at a 2 BR and their office was busy. They asked when I could move in and didnt have any 1BRs available for that time but did about a week after I could move. I still wanted to look at a 2 BR unit in case I could extend my stay where I was currently was but they just brushed me off, albeit politely.

We lived here for about a year and a half, and for most of that time, we were content, but by no means did we ever enjoy living there. It wasnt until we had a slew of frustrating and disgusting incidents that we decided to leave as soon as we could. In the photos, youll see what happened to our sink on more than one occasion, as well as the mold we found on our bookcase upon packing up to move out. Not pictured is how immensely dirty and smoke-scented the unit was when we moved in, the mouse we had for a few days, or the fact that we could hear just about each and every conversation/footstep from the units above and around us.

Please save yourself the trouble and Do Not move in here! I started my lease in January, If I wasnt stuck in this lease, Id have been gone after a month. With utilities I pay almost 1000 for a STUIDIO. EDIT:Since posting this review Im getting violations and fines almost every day for things that havent changed all year. I now truly believe the staff is harassing me. Probably based on this review.

They are terrible! Dont return phones calls and charge extra when you move out. I paid $350 when I moved in. $300 for deposit and$50 for application fee. When I moved out 2 of us scrubbed the apt for 3+ hours. It looked better when I left then when I moved in. They called and said I owed $477 for cleaning. When I asked for what she read me a list and costs and it only adds up to $295. She claims they sent me a bill but I never got it so their taking me straight to collections. Calling Gephardt.
