Dont waste your time renting from here. This was the worst experience I have had at any rental site. I rented from National because during this time on their website they advertise a complete clean pledge. Its a joke because my rental was never cleaned at all and their negligence put me and my family at risk of contracting covid-19. It started when I got a call from one of the sites reps telling me that they double booked the only convertible they had on location and the first person there would get it. So I rushed from the airport to arrive to a dirty broken $500 rental. I had to clean and sanitize the car myself.As you can see in the pictures the seats were stained, I found someones wedding ring, finger prints hair, looked like a scene from CSI. Not only was the car not clean it was also damaged heavily, dents scratches the convertible top was broken and the seats didnt work. To Top it off when I returned it and showed everything to the staff they tried to offer me 25 bucks to go away! Then i was told i would get a call back and its been a week and still nothing, but they did charge me though!

Stood in line for over an hour then canceled our rental and took an Uber back to Avis at the airport. Residents living in the apartment building across the street came over to warn us that the owner of this National location is notorious for having long lines and poor customer service.

We arrived early for our car reservation but there was an extremely long line outside. We waited for about 2 hours to finally get helped and ultimately did not get the vehicle we reserved. It would have been nice to get some reassurance from staff for the wait, but numerous staff members were very short and not willing to explain what was going on. This took a big chunk out of our day for our vacation.We are also executive members and there were no benefits available to us at this branch. If you are needing to get going fast I would not recommend this location.

Absolutely terrible. When you arrive you have to stand on the sidewalk for 30min before they let you in. Then they have very little cars actually available.. and act like it is a joke that you want a premium car. Employee had a serious attitude and was rude. Place is also dirty.

The key fob on my airport rental had a dead battery. Coming here was so much easier and they were so helpful. Easy breezy and nicer than the guy at the airport qhen I pointed out the problem and he was unconcerned.

Dont give these people a penny of your money. Waited an hour in line only to be told they did not have the car we booked, even though the system allowed the booking. We agreed to take a different class of car instead so the guy goes to the back for 30 minutes while the line grows outside. Comes back then refuses to honor the price quoted online for that class of car. Other people in line were also complaining about the various ways they are being screwed over or the extremely long wait. If you want to be treated fairly, respectfully and ethically dont come here.

I had gotten my rental car confirmation by email and based upon the car availability I booked my non-refundable hotel on Key West. Just received a call from National that my car is not available for tomorrow due to the fact that they are overbooked. And this as an Emerald Club Member. Never happened to me with other National offices. Totally unacceptable!

Don’t rent here. We never got a car after waiting for 2 hours. The location was overbooked, customers with upcoming reservations were given zero notice ahead of time. The agents are extremely rude (avoid Marvin in particular). We ended up renting from a different provider.

I had reserved a car with an upgrade from the most base model (i.e. VW Jetta or similar), I was given a base model Nissan Sentra. This was a bit disappointing since we had about 7 hours on the road. I didnt realize that the car was base until we got in it and we were in a hurry so we just went on our way.

We used this rental company back in February for a trip down to the Keys. Halfway through our trip, the 2019 van we rented overheated and stopped running. After waiting on hold for 2 hours at a rundown gas station, they told us they would tow down another van from Miami and swap the vans out. We decided to wait another 2 hours to get a working vehicle. After waiting an hour, we received a text saying the vehicle was no longer coming. We wasted nearly a full day trying to get down to Key West with no luck from National. We wound up having to take a Lyft the remainder of the drive. National said they would reimburse us for our $250 Lyft ride, but it is July and we still havent seen the money. We have spent hours, via phone and email, trying to get this resolved. National has told us that the reimbursement has to come direct from the branch, but the branch has no direct phone number apparently. They clearly do not care about their customers or about making things right. We would never chose this location again.

Horrible experience. Had to wait 3hours in line to pick up my car. When I returned it a day earlier than my initial reservation, they told me to drop the key in the drop box. There was only one person in the branch. It’s now been 24 hours and they still haven’t processed my return. I hope they don’t charge for an extra day. I tried calling National and they can’t help. They don’t even have a correct phone number for this branch, so there is no way for me to reach the branch. I googled and found a phone number. Left messages and called a dozen times, nobody is picking up the phone even though they are there. Still no resolution and nobody at National is helping. I am no longer renting from National after being a loyal customer for 20 years and being Executive for the last 5 years. Switching to Avis.

I use National as my only car rental company, mostly due to Emerald Aisle. Its nice a convenient - paying for midsize sedan and getting a bigger or more fun car to drive.This location doesnt have an Aisle option, but people working here were so nice that they have sent me an email asking if I have any preferences. I didnt reply in a timely manner (missed the email) so they went ahead and assigned me a 2018 Dodge Charger with low mileage for the same price! There were no lines at all, so the whole check in process took under 60 seconds.Location hours are 9 to 5 and theres no option to drop the car after hours, however Ive been offered a workaround - leave the car at the parking during the night, and bring the keys with no additional charge. Once again - people working here did their best to find a solution that works for everyone.When I was returning a car I figured out that Id like to have it for one more day. I didnt want to take it to hotel due to high parking fee, so I decided to bring it back to rental and pick it up again next morning. Not only they allowed me to leave the car in the garage, but also they didnt require me to make a new reservation. Ive updated the existing one and it allowed my reservation to qualify for one-two-free promo.Overall, it was a great experience, every person Ive met there are super nice and friendly and the best customer service was provided here! Definitely recommend this location to any National customer staying in mid-beach.

Waiting for over an hour and a half now for a reservation made a month ago. Due to high reservations, wait will be up to two hours? Ridiculous. Whats the point of making a reservation?Emerald statues didnt change or help anything. Unless you were screaming like this other lady who got her car in five minutes. It clearly pays to be uncivilized.The store has few seats and so most customers had to sit outside in the heat.Keep being told we will have the next car and others keep getting called ahead of us.Horrible experience.

I’ve returned a car on Monday February 24th and accidentally forgot my IPad mini 3 on the floor of the front seat. I called the next morning and gave every detail, I am still waiting. The claim number is 34892021. We called a million times now, still no answers. I can tell exactly who was there when I left the car. So, I will start searching till I find him.

Dont waste your time going to this branch. No one can help you not even the manager. Rather go directly to MIA and rent there or better yet use sixt who actually have staff that try to help you!We had booked a minivan around 2 months ago. Having seen the bad reviews I phoned national to confirm inventory in the morning at this location and was told yes they would have one for me.We ubered there from the port to collect and on arrival were told no stock and nothing even close to that size.Better yet, all their minivans had been recalled! Not one available at any location in Miami yes I was told yes?!!!Not a flying F#uck was given at either Branch and no one was interested in trying to remedy the situation for the family it cover our additional transportation costs.Wont ever use National again if this is how customers are handled.

On 12/27/2018, I rented a car at this location. Because of the holiday, there was no cars available; which resulted in a 2-3 hour wait. The wait time was not the problem with my experience as I understand there are some things that are outside of the business’s control.The issue I had was with an employee named Joe. After waiting a couple hours, I re-entered the National office to check the status of my rental. He (Joe) saw that I was waiting in line again and proceed to scream at another employee named Ricardo “Why is he (referring to me) waiting in line!!! He is an Emarald member who has been waiting a long time! This is ridiculous and doesn’t make sense! Hurry up and figure it out!”I was extremely uncomfortable with the way that he addressed his co worker publicly. Even after waiting for two hours, I was not upset because the wait was understandable. Joe’s behavior was unnecessary and highly disrespectful. Ricardo helped me a few days prior on a previous rental; where he displayed exceptional professionalism, a courteous attitude, and kindness.I informed another manager named Elizabeth about the issue and she quickly rectified my bad experience by adjusting the cost of my rental. As with Ricardo, Elizabeth was also very professional and made my experience more enjoyable and reminded me how a person in management should behave.Joe’s behavior was inexcusable and he should not work in a place of business if he cannot control his temper in front of customers.

I would give Zero star if I could for this location, since it is the worst. I made a reservation online for Dec. 27th a few weeks in advanced. Everything was fine until 4:56 pm on Dec. 26th, I received a phone call from them telling me they dont have any cars available and my reservation wouldnt be honored. It was so late in the day and they left me no time to make other arrangements, and dont mention that it is the holiday season and there is no way for me to find another rental car for next day. Because of their incompetence, my holiday schedule at Miami was impacted significantly. I had to cancel my other activities and reservations on Dec. 27th which I already paid for and nonrefundable.The person who called me was rude and extremely unprofessional. When I asked him what should I do, he just said: I am just here to give you a heads up. He was lack of empathy and didnt even apologize for canceling my reservation.Before I made my reservation, I did notice the bad google reviews for this place. I guess I should have trusted the poor reviews other than taken my chance. In my opinion, out of town tourists should definitely avoid this branch, if you want to have a smooth experience in Miami.By the way, most of the five-star review for this place were left by local guide, so go figure...

I booked a “mustang convertible or similar” a week in advance at the Miami Beach location. I was scheduled to pick the car up at 9am and just to be safe I called the number listed online the day of pick up to confirm my vehicle would be ready at this time. The representative I spoke to assured me that everything was good to go and my vehicle would be ready upon arrival. I walk in the door to see 15-20 customers waiting and looking frustrated so I knew right away this was going to be a bad experience. After waiting about 20 minutes the representative insisted on taking my credit card information after I heard him tell the customer in front of me they had no vehicles available. I asked to speak to the manager and the assistant GM came out and told me they had no convertibles and no vehicles at all. I told her that I called to confirm and was told my vehicle would be here. She responded by saying the number online is based out of different state and they have no idea what’s going on with this store. Other customers and myself began to laugh in disbelief. I then said why wouldn’t you call me and tell me you have no vehicles knowing I booked the car a week in advance. She responded “I didn’t have time”. She told me to go out and grab brunch and she would call me if any cars showed up but there are already several other customers ahead of you waiting for cars to show up. No discounts and no compensation was offered other then allowing me to cancel my reservation. I was with my girlfriend and had three suitcases so walking around Miami with my luggage for hours wasn’t really an option.After waiting another 2.5 hours in a tiny room packed with angry customers I was finally offered a Dodge Journey that happened to pull up. Needless to say it was a horrible experience. I called there online number again and was only offered to the opportunity to file a complaint and maybe get a call back on Monday. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Be aware this office is in the parking garage on the left as you are heading north on Collins ave across from the holiday inn.No issues and good new car with low mileage. Helpful staff and quick drop-off for Emerald aisle customers.

Miami Beach is the worst place to pickup a car. When you arrive you will be greeted with a sign that says you may experience a 2-4 hour wait to get your a car... even though you arrive on time and have a reservation. It took me two hours to get my car. The staff tries really hard but the overbooked reservation system sets them up for failure. The lobby is a complete zoo packed with tourist without any idea when they will get a car. Shame on you National!!!!

I wish that rating lower was a possibility. Everyone on the morning shift today except the guy who took my rental keys into the garage were extremepy rude. Being from Hawaii I am use to a standard of friendly service. At this National location They are very non chalant rude and dont care about anything that is going on with your rental agreement. The exact words of one employee was I have nothing to do with that, you need to call them. Them meaning the customer service in Tampa. I call them and wait 15 mins on the phone onpy to walk in amd another male employee tell me they should just bill my card andill be refunded later. Why couldnt this be explained BEFORE wasting my time? Please go to another place if you can. Its not worth the hassle or frustration.

Worst experience at a car rental. Reserved a van in November, went to pick up and the manager was ...we dont have it..we can give you a pick up truck!!! After an hour and a half I had to hunt down a small suv myself and convince the manager to rent me that for a while AND call me as soon as a van is returned.

In my case it was very comfortable since I was staying at the Fointanblue Apartments and 100 meters away I was able to return the rental car at the airport to visit Florida, the delivery process was quick and with very good service
