Our rental experience at this location was incredible, and its all because of a single employee. If you have the chance to process your rental with Sam he is amazing, efficient, reliable, and so hard working! Speaks both stellar English & Spanish, and the best part is he is so easy to work with.We had just moved to Miami, booked our rental for two weeks, but needed an extension. He accommodated our extension not only once but twice!! We didnt realize how long it was going to take to find a home, and Sam at Avis was so understanding and helpful.If more employees acted like him, wed all be living in paradise! Unfortunately, people get burned out from rude customers and it shows here in Miami. We feel fortunate that this long rental experience was smooth sailing because of the random location we chose! Cars here rent out extremely fast, and some reservations dont get fulfilled. It happened to us before we went to Avis at Enterprise at the Brickell location. Their employee simply looked at us and said sorry, we dont have a car for you. And that was IT! As if it didnt matter we booked in advance, and he cared 0% about trying to help. Thats when we booked with Avis, crossed our fingers, and were pleasantly surprised at Sams dedication and kindness.
Had a very pleasant experience in picking up and dropping off. Sam is the man. Easy going guy who makes everything so seemless. Will definitely be back the next time I’m in town.

Easy rental, booked a mustang online ended up with a convertible Camaro. They were quick and dropping off was really easy!
*IF YOU RENT FROM HERE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENT!*We had a reservation to pick up a car at noon and return the next day same time. I paid for my reservation, and picked up the car a few minutes early (11:50). I returned my reservation the next day at 12:28 pm. These times are significant because I found out after the fact that Avis has a 29 minute grace period before they charge you for another day?Had I not checked my statement because a friend and I were splitting the cost, I never wouldve noticed.Avis removed the charge just this once- after waiting on hold for 20 minutes- but with all the choices in car rental I wont be renting from Avis again.

Greeted as I entered And knowledged In line . Had no reservation but got a great deal last minute. Was honest with policy no pressure at all I felt very comfortable would definitely recommend. Went to enterprise and felt I was being investigated. Avis had great options to return at other locations with no drop off fees. Rented a car for Thursday march 4 at 8am. Building is clearly out of business, lobby is empty and door is locked up. After 30 minutes of waiting to see if someone showed up, I had to change my reservation to another location, and on top of that they charge 14 MORE DOLLARS because their location they allowed me to rent from is closed? Complete waste of time, do not reserve.UPDATE: They moved our reservation to the Avis at Lowes hotel which IS ALSO CLOSED! WAITED ANOTHER HOUR THERE before I finally got my refund. Now no place near me has any rental cars left. Avis ruined a whole day of my trip!

Never felt as comfortable as I did renting with Avis. Letting me know car was disinfecting and cleaned was very important to me. Car was cleaned smelled good and made me feel comfortable.
Horrible. We rented a car for 3 days and the prices were good but our trip got cut short due to a family member corona virus so we returned the car early to save paying full price for days we didnt need and they charged us for the full 3 days ! We returned it early to save money because we no longer needed it and we ended up paying without keeping the car. HORRIBLE company, enterprise is way better ! NEVER renting from avis again this is ridiculous. Very disappointed.
We rented a car for less than 24 hours to drive from MIA to Key West. Within 1 hour of having the car it broke down. We waited for 4 hours for a new car. This was also a celebration for my 30th birthday. Due to breaking down we had to cancel our plans and reservations for that evening as we would not get there in time. Not only did this happen, they then tried to charge us for gas used from the BROKE DOWN vehicle.
Extremely unsafe to rent from this location during Covid-19. They tried to give us a car with beverage and liquor bottles and sand from previous users. It was extremely unclean and we had to clean it ourself like an own car. Didnt expect this Avis

Easy and convenient. Came in a bit early to pick up the vehicle. They offered to upgrade to a mustang from the economy that I reserved for $12/day, I declined. They decided to upgrade to the mustang anyway, free of charge. Car was clean, ran well and had nice options. No hidden fees, no hassle. Returned the car and was out the door in under 5 minutes. They were really nice and great service!!!!

Didn’t have a reservation but offered me a good deal, had to wait for car to be clean but didn’t mind because they sanitized and left the inside looking real clean. For some Advice get the pre-pay toll package that’s a great deal especially with all the tolls they have a Miami! Will be back soon
Location is under construction they have runners bringing cars. Rates are fair and cars are clean. When returning is easy runner will take car and Avis will email receipt

A good priced rental, pretty friction-less to pick up and drop off and also for me to change specifics of the booking prior to pick up. Good service. The lady in reception was hassled and over busy but efficient and polite. Good car. Easy drop off in Pensacola. The car was tightly parked between others and I had to get help to get it out as I am not used to automatics and the specific car.

The process to get the rental car was horrible. I first tried calling and either got hung up on or the call dropped not too sure, when i called back i had to give them all of my information all over again and it happened again!! So i just downloaded the app and it went easier for me. The pickup building was too tiny to fit everyone in it people had to wait outside and only one person was working, he was agitated and rude. Then when we finally got the car it was a huge van type car and we were only two people! I asked why the car was so big and the driver said “Oh can you not drive?” I was very offended and was aggravated. However the process to drop the car off went so smoothly and they were very friendly! My mother left my jacket in the car and they helped me retrieve my jacket even when the car had already left!

We were on vacation with our children and wanted to rent a car for one day. The lines inside we’re very long so we decided to rent online. It was streamlined, when we went to pick up the car they washed it for us and it was a seamless process.
This location was very busy over the holiday weekend. They sold out multiple times. Luckily we had a reservation made in advance.Sam was very helpful and friendly. Got us the car we wanted and didnt worry about nickle and diming us.I advise to make a reservation in advance online for best results. The location is easy to spot and theres a gas station behind them on 23rd St.

Pick up process was easy, they gave me the car earlier and when returning they understood that Miami traffic sometimes is so bad it didnt the depend on me the late arrival and didnt charge me extra.

Sam was great to work with! He offered us a choice of two vehicles (both of which were ready to go) and off we went. Book in advance and your paperwork and car will be ready when you arrive. Convenient location on Collins at 23rd if youre staying in hotels north of South Beach.

I m really disappointed in this store worker his name is carlos so disrespectfull and rude. And his biggest mistake he took my card without showing me exact price and charged on my card bigger amount than the price on my reservation. Then make me sign the paper, when i saw the price that he showed me, i didnt want to sign and rent the car because it was 3 times bigger than reservation price. i refused the rental agreement but because of this mans mistake, it already charged my card.
Online booking was easy, people were very helpful, overall process was just easy and we got everything we needed at a fair price.

Was on vacation staying locally and I had made an online reservation for a convertible with Avis which my hotel did recommend (2318 Collins Avenue Avis location). Arrived to learn that unfortunately for me they did not have the car available due to the compatibility of their location inventory and the online booking system (I was told). Furthermore, they did not have any other rentals available to even compromise with. The unhelpful employee that was there advised me to contact online who my reservation was through to explain what happened and to cancel my reservation. I did and was told that having to cancel my reservation would impose a cancelling fee even though it was involuntary on my part and incompetent on there’s. After many frustrating and time-consuming phone calls with every time having to explain my situation over and over because someone new was picking up after being put on hold. I just received my credit for the cancelling fee they charged of $150 that was beyond my control in the first place. Remember this happened on August 3rd, and it’s now August 15th.
It was easy to get to the car and well located in Miami Beach, and the staff was very helpful.Unless youre a lover of walking, if your stay is under the 12th Street itll be better to get a ride to get there. Its near the biggest hotels of Miami Beach and a little far from South Beach. I thinks its already in Mid Beach.
The agent at the Miami branch illegally and without my consent upsold me additional liability. He did the same thing with the three previous customers. They were Europeans and did not understand what he was doing. I just returned the car and I just noticed what he did to me as well. I will report this to American Express to dispute charge.
This is the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. The car itself was fine and the price is what you expect. But the staff was unbelievably rude, it’s in a terrible location that’s difficult to get in and out of, and you’re expected to return your own car in the one lane of tightly packed spaces on a one way at a ridiculous intersection. I DID notice they were nicer to the people speaking Spanish so if you speak Spanish, maybe you won’t be treated like garbage. Ugh.
Convenient South Beach location. Pickup and drop-off were easy and fast. Perfect for a one-day, longish excursion... especially when Ubering the rest of the time.
We tried renting from two other companies in that area and one didnt have cars the other had an office full of angry customers. This office was busy but got us out the door in minutes. The lady at the counter was courteous and cheerful. We dropped the car off at the airport - so easy!
Regardless the email confirmation from AVIS saying that my car is reserved for me, there was no car available the day of pick up! Why would the booking system let me rent a car if there is none available?!? The guy at the counter then told me to call the AVIS support and submit a complaint - I fulfilled my part of the contract (paid in full) and now I also have to make calls to get what I paid for? This is VERY POOR customer service! And by the way there were at least 5 other customers that morning with the same issue! One guy from AVIS also said that this happens nearly every day! AVIS get your inventory under control!

I read a lot of bad reviews, but my experience was the opposite. My car broke down on Christmas eve and I needed a car fast. Since I live a block away my girlfriend and I walked over. I wasnt feeling optimistic, it being a holiday weekend. Carlos was like a ray of sunshine saving us and helping us get a car. Weekend saved! I will definitely go back.

2019 review. Still a 5 star place. 3 couples in front of me with cruise vouchers. It took about about 5 minutes each to process. At least they all had credit (Not debit) cards and international drivers licences. The agent answered all the question. He repeated, bring the car back full, the hours of operation, how Florida Sunpass Tolls work. I am a Avis Preferred Member, My rental tool a minute. I was out in less than 20 minutes.2018 review: A professional car rental location. I have rented cars there for 6 years, no problems. It is better to rent here as you avoid the airport fees that add $20 per day. I rent a car to go on excursions to the Everglades, Keys, etc.But while waiting in line, there is always a problem with a customer because they want an exception to the rules. You must have a valid credit card (not debit with no money, prepay, etc) because Florida has pay by licence plate tolls and express lanes; you will rack up charges. Come at the time you chose, the lot is small. Bring the car back when you say you will; they need the car. They have limited hours, no late night drop off.I get the car I reserved and it takes 5 minutes. But I understand the rules.
The staff (no identifier label) treated us like we were there just for annoying. Do not expect a friendly service. Literally forced to go home and look on the website for further information. Expect to be told it’s not their problem: not used to such an attitude renting AVIS worldwide.

This place is a joke. Be careful when returning your vehicle. I turned my car in 2 hours earlier and they tried to charge me an extra full day. Then I tried to call and resolve but no answer...surprise...so I had to spend 30 mins on a call with Avis and prove to them I turned my car in on time. Thank god for uber receipts. 10 years of loyalty and thats how your treated!!

AVOID - terrible customer service...We made our booking well in advance from the UK and wanted to confirm everything over the phone with the local Miami depo before arrival. I called many times but they simply don’t answer the phone or just hang up on you. Feeling concerned when we landed in MIA we called in person and was assured everything was ok with the booking for the following day. Turned up at the agreed pick up time the following day and to our disarray the car wasn’t there! I explained we had a flight to catch down in Key West and the manager Carlo said it would be an hour late and if I didn’t like it then to call customer services. When the car did eventually arrive it was an hour late and not the model we expected. There was plenty of damage on the vehicle which they didn’t seem bothered about. many other customers sat in the waiting room with the same problems. Don’t chance it go with another company
Reserved a car in advance and they did not have it when I arrived. Agent at the location was downright condescending and offered me a worse car (was all they had) but would not process a discount. He said to call customer service who then said they could only refund the reservation for me. Went a couple blocks down the road to Sixt who were perfectly friendly and actually cheaper. Do not rent from this location or Avis in general honestly.
Friendly, efficient (even with several customers), answered all my questions, upgraded my vehicle and it was super-clean! Check-in was fast and friendly too. Will use again!

0 STARS! Worst car rental experience ever!! Waited 3 hours for a vehicle as they did not have the vehicle I had reserved 2 months in advance! I can understand that things happen but I was lied to and thats what makes the experience BAD!! When I arrived I was told the Vehicle will arrive in one hour... I came back in 2 HOURS and still no vehicle!! then was told any minute now it will arrive...LIES!! It took another hour...3 hours total and they hand me the keys...nothing said...the car was parked at the furthest end of their facility and it was filthy dirty...Had to stop and clean the windows to see!! I was offered points for a future rental but no refund! Dont bother calling the 1 800 number...all they can do is offer you points for future rental and waste more of your time on hold!! Look at reviews from over a year ago... nothing has changed or improved... I wish I had looked here before renting! Dont rent here unless you have time to waste and enjoy poor customer service... Never again!
Avoid at all cost. Horrible service, usually they send customers away to the airport location because they simply dont have the car you book. And if you think delivering cars would be easy, it is not! They told the guy in front of me in Q to come back later because the system is down. Ridiculous.
One clerk for 7 clients. Prepare to wait and wait for a car that wont be there despite your booking made weeks in advance. Offered a downgrade on top of numerous instances that any credit card covers. Its so busy the cars are barely cleaned. Very badly located parking exit which make the only employee having to stop the traffic to help clients exit. Which add to the wait...
Horrible customer service !! Unprofessionalism to the max and very rude!!I initially called them to book a rental car. Spent almost 30 minutes on the phone giving them information and even got a confirmation number. Told them I needed the car the same day. Walked 3 blocks to pick up the car, only to be told there by someone else that it would take 24 hours!! Really?? So the person on the line couldnt have told me that?They handled the situation in a very unprofessional manner. Even talking about me in another language which I actually fluently speak in.If you need a rent a car, this is the last place you should look.
Not very helpful staff. The car we booked and paid for online was not available so they offered us another car for the same price. After returning the car they charged my credit card another 132 dollars for the upgrade. Would not recommend!
