* Great experience with new windows from sales to install. Installers even worked through a storm to finish.
David from Sears heating and air came out to service our broken air conditioner today. We are currently 10 days with no air, and we have been working with our home warranty to get it resolved. After 3 other service people failed us, we were assigned to Sears, and David actually took the time and did the work necessary to get us headed in the right direction. He spent 4 and a half hours at our home working to identify every possible option, before finally determining that our unit couldnt be fixed and needed to be replaced... and an hour of that time was spent on hold with our warranty company to make it happen. I cannot tell you how much of a relief it was to work with him after all we have been through in the last 2 weeks. With or without my warranty restrictions, i would 100% call them back for service in the future.
The installers were fast, professional, and informative. You could just tell right away that they knew what they were doing. I highly recommend these guys. And, the office people were also easy to deal with too.
Unfortunately, I cant give Sears a zero-star rating. We bought the door in October and the work wasnt even completed (if you want to call it that) until February. The original installer mismeasured and so we werent able to keep our original trim, as we specifically requested; because of this, our new trim, that we never wanted, doesnt match any of the other trim around it. He got matching paint (although I cant figure out why, because the trim covered the drywall) and got it color matched...TO THE DRYWALL. Then he went back and got an off-the-shelf paint that was way too dark. Now theres a darker green paint highlighting the unmatching trim. Ill have to repaint my whole kitchen to get rid of it. Sears has been no help remedying this. Also, he put caulking to cover up some holes. Caulking on the wall. He didnt even smooth it out. (The last contracter Sears sent did fix this, and he was great, but this is a Sears review, not a contractor review.)When we called the day after the installation, we felt ignored. Obviously, 3-4 months to install one door is too long. We would call and ask about our door being fixed and our calls would go unreturned. Our brand new door is scratched, damage was done to the house (which was eventually fixed by a different installer). To be fair, the last installer did a great job fixing what he could, but our new $5000 door is still scratched and off center.
I replaced a plastic tub/shower unit with an acrylic shower. This was a great experience, the salesman and project manager were very professional and courteous, The installer was a real treat. Herbie was a perfectionist, way more than I would consider adequate was not good enough for him. He simply would not settle for anything short of perfection. The job was completed in a timely manner for the price I was quoted.
Sears Home Improvement replaced a Shower unit in our master bathroom and we are EXTREMELY PLEASED with the final results. Beautiful job and installer very confident and knowledgeable about Shower installations. Recommend highly you use Sears Home Improvement for Shower unit installations. Thanks so much we finally found someone who can do the job at a high rate of satisfaction.
The subcontractor, The Comfort Group was great, very professional, excellent job. I would love to have The Comfort Group work on other home improvement projects. I have a problem with the length of time I had to wait for the installation. If it was not for the wait the rating would have been five (5) stars. The Comfort Group almost made the waitingtime worth it, almost.
My house is 18 years old. I had my whole kitchen remodeledNew cabinets, counter top and the floor will be done in 2 weeks.I am very pleased with the workmanship on everything. They went above what they needed to do in order to update all aspects of the kitchenI am very pleased.
Long delay getting started. After I paid 1/3 down, I heard nothing for several weeks. Finally got through to them, they required me to send them a bank statement proving I could pay for bath remodel. My bank advised me to cancel, as it was insulting. If I could not afford to do the remodel, I would not have even looked into it. Finally got vanity instock, the contractor Herbie was fantastic. He went above and beyond in every aspect. Original salesman was only phone number I had for sears, my calls to him went to voicemail and mailbox was full. I found out he was no longer employed by them. Then Sears filed bankrubtcy day before job was to start. Herbie came and got finished in time he stated. Love the result, but I will never deal with Sears again. No wonder they are going out of business, if they treat every customer as they treated me.
Enjoying a nice cool house, quiet unit, very efficient!!!!
My husband and I had a air conditioner and furnace installed, the installers were prompt, courtesy and professional......We are thrilled about the our new temperature in the home when we use the oven in 80-90 degree temperatures
We had a new roof installed last Tuesday. A regular roof and a flat roof over a sun room. All went well until it rained over the weekend. The sun room leaked. Not drops but flowed. We have tried to contact someone at several numbers given but have received no response. One of the reasons we chose Sears was their warrenty and promise of quick response in the event of any issues. We hope we get some kind of response before the next rain and our room is flooded again.
Customer service was crap. My family ordered a refrigerator and it wasnt delivered for a WHOLE MONTH!! The employees are a gang of idiotic baffoons and they provide as much information about their inventory as I can read myself from the package. In fact less. The fact that they get a wage for their jobs is absurd. We were trying to buy a present for my brother, which one of the employees was SURE, they didnt have in stock. After looking online, it was indeed in the store the whole time. After going back to the location, indeed, the product was there but, the ever so bright and intelligent employee there failed to mention or realize that the product was in three different boxes, but we only got one. After this realization, we had to go back yet another time for the same thing to the same sears. It is unprofessional. The experience there was just a nightmare. And did I mention that the employees are idiots? Because they are.Do not petronize this buisness in any way shape or form. Those people deserve to be fired and the store deserves to be shut down.
I had a wonderful experiance with Sears recently.I had a furnace-air conditioner installed. They wereso helpful.I saw an ad onlne.Set up for the consultation and boom it was done.Set up a date for installation and they were there ontime to install. The installers were so kind, and explained everything they did.I think they ran into some issues with my floor.Explained why theHhusband and I have purchasedMy husband and I have purchased many large items from Sears in the past. This was the ementy didnt take out a piece of unit.My home is old and needs some TLC.I think it took longer but 3 hours later they were done.I felt sorry when they had to go into crawl space under my house. The gentleman looked he just stepped out of the shower. He did not complain, neither did the other employees with them.I would recommend Sears Home Improvement for all househld repairs.Myhusband and I have purchased many items from Sears over the years. This has been the first home improvement we have done.Thisis our 1st home.If we do any more repairs we will not hesitate to call on Sears.Thank You Sears for being there when needed. This is from a Sears for life customer.
