We have a Craftsman riding mower and use Sears repair services for our Spring tune-up. The servicemen come to our home and arrive on time. They seem to know what theyre doing—the lawn mower is about ten years old and continues to work fine. We needed new blades this year and a spark plug and some filters. Im pleased. I don’t know a thing in the world about mechanical devices, but if they keep on keeping on, I’m happy.

I scheduled a service appointment on my dryer as it had stopped heating. The first repair appointment technicians were timely. It did take them a bit to repair but they thought they found the problem. Showed me it running prior to leaving and getting warm. A few hours after they left I re-entered the laundry room to find a dryer that was Extremely HOT to touch on the exterior. Upon further investigation the cycle knob was continuing to rotate without the dryer even being turned on. The dryer wouldn’t run in all cycles and neither of these were issues prior to repair appointment. A follow up appointment was immediately scheduled for two days later and then the technician didn’t show up at all...I called to follow up as the 8a-5pm Window closed. I had a now very unsafe dryer, fire hazard to leave plugged in... I was told I would be given a partial refund. We are now three weeks from original visit and after numerous calls back —still no refund and poor communication. Totally getting the run around when I call, etc. now having to dispute charge through my bank to hopefully get resolution.

Repair of Craftsman rider lawn mower. If the service person, Mr. Yeti, had driven the lawnmower around the yard, he would have experienced that the rider mower was not fixed. In the past 15 years, we have used Sears to maintain and repair our rider mower and every single service person drove the rider mower to make sure it was working. When Mr. Yeti left, I got on the rider mower to mow the lawn and it didnt last 5 minutes before it stopped working. Sears does not provide a valid phone number to call if repair didnt work. The menu driven software does not provide an opportunity to talk to a human being and it does not provide an option for getting someone back to finish the repair. Now, I was forced to schedule another visit and they are charging me another $139 diagnostic fee. I have no one to talk to about this because Sears does not offer that option. If I am forced to pay another diagnostic fee, I will never use Sears again for anything.

We called Sears repair and got an appointment for 12-15-20. A contractor for Sears, Joe’s Appliance, came out. The tech found the problem and said a part needed to be ordered. Had to wait weeks for a part. Another tech, from Joe’s Appliance, came out on 1-25-21 to replace the part. He was disheveled and needed a bath! Someone drove him out, in an old van, and waited on him. He replaced the part. We asked him to let us start the washer to verify all was well but he would not wait. He said if we had any problems to call their number ( Joe’s Appliance) back. We started the washer and it did not leak (original problem) but started making a horrible noise. We turned it off and immediately called the number for Joe’s Appliance and had to leave a message. They have never called us back and we not heard from Sears. We had a year on the extended warranty left, but never got resolution. We ended up buying a new washer, not from Sears! I have been a Sears customer all of my adult life. No more.

We have been waiting over 6 weeks for a repair. We have had 3 scheduled appointments that have been canceled by this company not by us. The 3rd scheduled appointment they sent us a message stating they came, but no one was home. My mother stayed at the house all day and we also have security cameras. No one came to our house, that was a complete lie. We have been on the phone over 20 times with this company trying to figure out why the hell we have gone this long without a working washing machine. We arent able to speak to anyone in the U.S. and everyone gives us the same line about fixing it. Yet it has never been fixed. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Our protection agreement is complete useless. With the money spent on the lanudrymat and having to take off work for scheduled appointments that never happen we could have already paid for a new washer. Customer service is an absolute joke.UpdateAs you can see it is now 3 weeks later and I still dont have a new washer. We have now had to buy our own new washer and I just got a call that they are going to replace my washer and the delivery date is November 29th. 😆 🤣 😂 what a joke. They wont give me a dryer because I already have a new washer and they wont just give me a check. Stay away from this nightmare. I have never in my life had such a nightmare with a company. No wonder sears went out of business in louisville.

Have had sears maintenance agreement for over 25 years- great service, although getting to phone center is sometimes a challenge. Also same person came for our maintenance a week ago on other products and he could have done freezer at same time preventing me from having to wait till he came a second day. Could have given a better window of arrival on day of service.

Sears wouldnt let me tell them what I wanted done on my Craftsman lawn tractor when i spoke to the phone person setting the appointment. She said their tech would arrive at my home and hed diagnose and have the necessary parts on hand. I wanted both the drive and blade belts replaced. I purchased blades and intended to have him replace them.I had not cleared the grass from the top of my mower deck for an entire season not knowing there were ventilation holes that assist with mulching. The tech dumped that grass in my lawn and left it there for me to rake up before I could mow the lawn.He had the proper drive belt but not the blade belt. However, he had a belt that would work on the blade but I would have to pay an extra $15 or he could come back in two weeks which would destroy another whole day since I was required to have someone available 8A-5P and they arrived at 2:45P. So I paid the extra. All in all he accomplished what I wanted done but the price was a little steep $375.One more item, once it was repaired he fired up the tractor, dropped the deck a notch lower than I mow my lawn and tore off two swaths down the middle length of our back lawn. So until the grass grows back I have a two swath wide scalped landing strip in the middle of our back lawn.

Came on time, advised ice maker unit would have to be replaced; parts ordered, came back out and installed quickly. Works perfectly. Also suggested we let them do a thorough cleaning of coils etc in back of fridge. Nominal fee. It was a good use. Its too heavy for me to move out to do it myself. So in 4 years had not been cleaned. Will save money and wear on the fridge. We have HVAC serviced annual preseason, well do fridge now each year too.

My wife and I needed to have a leaky Kenmore dishwasher repaired. We originally called a plumber to have it fixed. The plumber moved the dishwasher out of the cabinet, disconnected the water & electrical lines, and told us to contact Sears as the leak was due to a part in the dishwasher and not the water line. We then contacted Sears and they sent two technicians out to diagnosis it. The dishwasher was already pulled out of the cabinet and the water and electrical lines were not connected when they arrived (the water had been turned off for several weeks). The technicians told us that they’d have to order the part, which arrived a few days later. The technicians came back out to replace the part but told me they were not allowed to re-attach the electric line to the dishwasher. When I asked them why, they said it was because they didnt pull the dishwasher out and disconnect it. When the technicians originally came out, the dishwasher was not connected to either electrical or water and they never said they couldnt re-attach anything when they diagnosed the faulty part. On that first visit, we paid $154.38 for the technicians to look at the dishwasher and for the part, and on the second visit, we paid the remaining $96 that was due. I have paid Sears $250.38 and still do not have a working dishwasher.

I did not and have not had a good experience. My husband and I bought the kenmore elite front loading washer and dryer in 2008. They are already giving trouble- we replaced the pressure switch about 6 months ago. And again this past week it started giving f-35 error again. I am so upset that we spent so much money on the washer and dryer thinking they would be a great investment. The day after the technician came I started a load of clothes and again the f-35 code came up- so I could not use it again. I have been without a washer and dryer for about 3 weeks. Is this typical of sears appliances now? My dryer says f-70 and I give sears an F for failure to produce a better washer and dryer for consumers. Now I have to wait another week or so for another technician who may or may not fix my washer and dryer and if he does it probably wont last

The gentleman who can to repair our washer was very kind and professional, taking care to explain the problem and possible solutions. The diagnosis was quick and correct, and I wish I had noticed the problem before requesting service. The proposed fix required a second visit after parts were ordered and a second technician to the tune of $430. Similar models of my washer cost around $500-$600, so I opted to consider my options before committing to the repair cost. He suggested a temporary fix which he did, and the washer ran fine while we was here. The next load the fix complete fell apart and the problem returned. Knowing the issue, since the technician had diagnosed it, I fixed the problem with some superglue and a fast-curing catalyst, and havent had problems since. It sucks to have had to pay for the visit, but Im glad at least to know the problem and how to address it. My complaint stems mainly from the absurd cost of a full repair, which included the price of parts that were double what I found them online for.

Repair personnel were professional and friendly. It did not take them long to determine the problem and the part that needed to be replaced. It was a $ 350 part. The dishwasher is only 1 year old. You used to be able to buy Sears Kenmore appliances and be confident that they would last a reasonable length of time. According to everyone at Sears that I have talked to, you should buy appliance repair insurance. My response is that I will no longer buy Sears Kenmore appliances.I bought a Sears Kenmore stove and it also has had to be repaired. I have talked to other people and they say that Sears appliances no longer last.

The service tech was very competent and had the part for our ice maker on his truck, he diagnosed and repaired the problem in about 30 minutes! The service center who takes the calls is just the opposite--on my first call I was told their system was down and to call back in an hour, on my next call tech support tried to diganose the problem (logical fisrt step) but ended by telling be to go buy a new water filter which I did and that did not have anything to so with the problem (no ice). I scheduled my own appointment on line, but the system erroneously marked that I did not have a warrantee and indicated I would have a $119 diagnostic fee. I called to straighten this out and the call rep cancelled the appointment and then could not schedule another one saying the system had no appointments for two weeks, but said she would enter and emergency response request and someone would call me in next 24 hours. Didnt happen. I scheduled my own appointment for the next day on line again, again the system didnt recognize I checked I HAVE a warranty, but I straighten this out with the texh when he arrived.

I initially called back in December for a maintenance appointment for our treadmill. It was finally finished January 27th. They had to postpone the December appointment until January 5th. I had asked for a late afternoon appointment due to work and at 10am on January 5th I received a call saying they would be there in 30 minutes. I was at work and could not leave. Luckily, my oldest child was home and could let the repairman in. With this initial visit, it was determined that the treadmill needed a part that had to be ordered. The repairman ordered the part while at my home and had the part shipped directly to my house. On Friday, January 27th, my appointment was scheduled for 1-5pm. Late that morning, I received a phone call from this repairman saying he would be at my home by 1:10pm and would be finished in time for me to pickup my youngest child from school. I am not sure if this repairman was the same repairman from January 5th, but this gentlemen was very nice and knowledgeable. He fixed the treadmill correctly and was finished in good time. Luckily the treadmill was still functioning this whole time and we did not go without it for the 8 weeks it took from the initial phone call to being fixed. We actually use our treadmill every day and not having it for that length of time would have been a huge inconvenience for us.

However, our fridge required a part which, although was a common part, had to be ordered. The part came within a few days, however, the soonest appointment available was 2 weeks from the initial visit. When the tech arrived, the part sent was incorrect and we were told part would be overnighted. I called the service center when the part did not arrive, which was the biggest waste of time. The person answering could not give me any local info, could not confirm the local disptach would even return my call. While she was polite, she was unable to help in any way and then seemed puzzled I would be frustrated. We receieved the part 3 days later and thankfully our tech was on top of the case and watching the UPS tracking. He was able to come same day & install part thankfully since we had company arriving that weekend and had been without a functioning fridge for over 6 weeks. The tech was the only good part about our service. Everything else was extrememly poor. Sears would do well to remember this is a 100% service related business. Additionally, the part fits 50 different dryers.Third party repair, diagnosed the problem almost immediately, did not have the common igniter available. I made a call to the 3rd party who assured the part should be in after the weekend as the part was shown to be in Illinois AND Ohio. The part did not come in and was advised the part was still in Georgia! What I know is:A common repair part should never be outIf out, part should be overnighted (I paid over $800 for the 8yrs of warranty)Part came in and promptly repaired.
