I am new to the area and was really worried about someone taking care of a major issue with my vehicle. From the moment that I called them on the phone till the moment they handed back my keys I got nothing but five star service. From the mechanic breaking down everything that they were going to do to the car to the receptionist who had to deal with my idol chit chat while trying to work. Been goin there for years thought they were a A plus company untill my wife took here suv there now interior lights come on, check brake system light comes on dash and back window wiper makes noise all when the car start up and all she wanted was a starter put in oh yea didnt start a day and a half after she got it back when i called to talk to somebody dude acted like what they did didnt cause none of that and tryed to blame it on something else and wanted me to bring it back up there real bad business

I had an alternator failure in April 2018 during an emergency visit in Leesburg. Above Automotive was the nearest shop to where the failure occurred. The lot was full of cars and they were obviously very busy. Graciously, they squeezed me in, immediately ordered the part, charged a fair price, and had me back on the road within 3 hours .I had forgotten about the repair and experience at Above Automotive until just yesterday when the alternator failed again while traveling out of state. I was about to go buy another alternator when I remembered that I had this job done a couple years ago. I searched for the shop that I remembered doing the job, Above Automotive, and gave them a call.Walter answered and again was very gracious to check his records and find the event. He called me back within a few minutes and verified that the part had a lifetime warranty under his shop name. Long story short, I was able to got to a parts store out of state and make a warranty exchange because Walter was willing take the time to help a previous customer that he may never see again as i dont live near Leesburg.This is the kind of shop I would want to have service my vehicle if I did live nearby. I had a problem with my crown Victorian police interceptor anti-theft alarm system car would not start. I called Walter up from above automotive the owner and he had diagnosed it over the phone. Guys are freaking genius. All fixed back on the road again.

I have brought 3 different vehicles to Walter and he fixed them all. The interesting thing is the vehicles were all completely different. A 72 Monte Carlo, a 98 Mustang Cobra and a 2011 Ford F150. His prices are fair and they get the work done fast and right.

I have a 2011 BMW, and not only do they have extensive knowledge on my vehicle, I know they continue to save me a significant amount of money. I cant say enough about the honesty of these guys. Ive been here a few times before with a prior car, but its been a few years. Today I went as my car was making a vibration noise after Action Gator installed a new alternator. Action Gator said it was my tensioner, replaced it at $200, and the noise remained. They were ready to replace the alternator again (a 3rd time). I took it to Above Auto a few days ago, and they couldnt hear the noise initially so returned the car without a charge. I took it back today as it was more prominent, and within 5 minutes, the son of the owner laid under the car in the parking lot, noticed the ac compressor bolt was loose, and tightened it at no charge. I was driving away with a noise free car after 5 minutes. I cannot express my relief and gratitude after what has been an on-going nightmare for a week now with 2 prior mechanics. I cant recommend them enough. Theyve been doing this forever and know their shi*!

This isnt the place to take your foreign or domestic vehicle. I trusted my car to this place and spend 2,000 dollars on a car that I cant drive. My 09 BMW that I have had for eight years and had basic maintenance on is now undriveable. I told the master technician that I needed new gaskets he assured me that he could do the job the second time for no charge. But more less the same result long story short takes your car to the dealership. If youre gonna spend that kind of money the service must match the cost of the repairs. Honesty is the best policy is you cant do the job please advise the customer dont take the advantage of someone very disappointed with results. 😤🤬

Ive had my vehicles serviced here for the last three years and have received nothing but courteous and skilled service. From basic oil changes to major servicing, they have done good work. I would recommend them highly.

Ive been taking my truck to them for the last couple of years and I always get good service. They do a good job no complaints here.

DO NOT USE THIS SHOP! I checked the Poor-Fair box on the review only because Horrendous was not an option.I had my transmission replaced ($4000). It took about a week longer than quoted. When I went to pick up my car, it looked as if a greased pig had been turned loose on the inside of my car. My beige leather seats and steering wheel were black (it costs $150 to get the interior professionally cleaned). I was told I had a one year warranty on the transmission. Six months later it started leaking. I took it to the shop. They put it on the rack for a few minutes, stuck a wrench on some bolts, lowered it and told me it should be fine. Noticed next day that it was leaking worse than before. Called the shop. The owner informed me that a leak was not covered by the warranty and hed work me up a price to do the repair. Needless to say, Ive severed my relationship with the shop and going to work very hard to ensure no one else has to endure their incompetence.

MR.Clint Jones lets begin by being as accurate as possible before giving a bad post on this auto repair shop who went beyond the call of duty to work on your car, and spent an hour listening to you complain about other shops in the area that i do have respect for.Sir you brought your car in here to resolve an oil leak at the valve cover that a previous shop tried twice to repair and was unsuccessful. I explained to you in detail on how it was possible it wasnt torqued correctly and that the plastic valve cover should be replaced. Here at Above Automotive took strives to save the old cover and did so. saving you over $800.00 dollars . As regards taking it to the Dealership, that never happen here. Yes you did bring your car back to me the next day for a small vacuum leak that we repaired at no cost to you and wasnt in any way related to your original issue. I even took the time and educated you on your car that you had 8 years with a check engine light on for at least 4 of them.You could have come to me and i would have gone out of my way again for you if there was an issue with your car. Your vehicle came here with multiple issue, we just focused on what you wanted repaired at the time. We didnt create your car issues. We stand behind our work in detail. God Bless sir to you and yours.

Horrible job I would not recommend them to anyone. My step dad took my trailblazer up there to have the a/c fixed. It only lasted 2 days took it back up there today for them to look at and they refused to fix there mess up. Had to take it to another shop and them fix it. Other shop said they put way to much Freon in the system which caused it to mess up. Never again will I bring anything to them and I will let everyone know how shady they are!!!

We were looking to possibly purchase a used car in Leesburg. We took the car to Above Automotive and received an honest and thorough inspection for a reasonable price Thanks for your your assistance.

Although I have never been to Walters shop, I promised myself I would write a review about how amazing this man is.A few weeks ago I found myself trapped in the middle of an intersection in Oklawaha with a dead car. Alone and unable to fix my car, I began to panic. A gentleman helped me move my car out from the intersection and onto the side of the road and I felt a lot safer at this point. Then I swear to you that God sent me an angel by the name of Walter Henshaw. What are the odds that the one man who stopped to help me would be an auto repair man? Walter was the friendliest person out there and he just so happened to be passing by. Keep in mind I had been sitting out here for about 30 minutes and nobody else had stopped to help. Walter then took a look under my hood, listened to the car attempt to crank, and instantly knew the problem: I had a bad alternator which was causing my battery to drain and kill my battery. A battery my personal mechanic said was the problem and had just replaced a few days before saying the car was now fixed. Walter then sat there on the side of the road with me for over 10 minutes trying to charge my car up as much as he could with his truck just so I could make it home (about 25 minutes away). After finally getting my car to start, Walter even followed me about half way until he had to go a different direction just in case I needed his help again. My car ended up making it all the way back to my house and getting me home safely. If I lived in Leesburg, you bet 100% I would take my car to this man without hesitation. He knew exactly what he was doing and did everything he could to help a random stranger, and I could not be any more thankful for this gentleman. I hope he sees this review one day and knows how thankful I am for being able to meet him and how thankful I am that he was there to help me.

I work at a restaurant in saint petersburg. When i got off my car wouldnt start. When he came out of the restaurant he instantly gave me his help. Not only did he help me start my car, but he walked me through everything he was doing and explained what happened and how to fix it. I am more than grateful and appreciate what he did to help me. I wouldnt off got it started without his help. You can clearly tell he honestly cares about people and wants to help. 5 stars!

The quality is bad took my vehicle there for an oil change just an oil change they literally took out my brand new battery i bought a week before and switch it for a bad battery. Also the customer service is not good along with their service. My advice DONT GO TO THESE PEOPLE.
