Moved from Arizona and had a hard time finding a barber I liked. I have tried all the nearby barbers you see on google maps... Mancave(worst experience of them all btw), Archies in Layton and Clinton, My Barber etc... I am not sure how this was the last one on my list to try. Hands down this is the best place, best vibe, best fade, and ironically the best price.

These guys are hair artists and did a great job on my sons hair.

This place is always open for great service.. I have called Dawn and she has set appointments that where later in the evening just to help cut my hair and my sons.. my son wont let anybody else touch his hair besides J&P.. He is 17 and hair freak. They put him at ease and get him relaxing within minutes of arriving.. Its not just a barber, they listen and always have positive friendly advise.. They are fast but yet the quility its outstanding.. Nothing better than a barber who takes time to listen to me the customer and cuts accurately. Also if your not sure what type ohaircut you need. They are so professional they willver what they suggest the best look most definitely go back as well as recommend anybody else

J & P Barber Shop is my local. Its a independent family owned father and daughter operation. Paul and Dawn are both quality barbers. Since I moved here from out of state 4+ years ago each has cut my hair and/or trimmed my winter beard. Always happy with the results, never any complaints. I come in and just go with whichever chair opens up. Great work, nice people at a very reasonable price.

This is a father and daughter barber shop both very experienced. Father is very quick and gives a good haircut. I have the daughter, Dawn, cut my hair and she takes more time, is very personable, and does a great job. Highly recommend. Be aware they dont take appointments so may have to wait.

Been going here since I was a little guy when it was Pauls dad Joe. Now its Paul and his daughter They both give an excellent mans haircut and I know they give kids and woman cuts as well. Just no personal experience with the later two.

Wasnt a hard style - just a #2 all over - but the lady did it well, and the price was more than fair. I like this store because its operated by the owners; they dont rent out the chairs. Clean and friendly, with quaint decoration. Will use this store again.

I had a great experience at this barber shop. I just moved from Salt Lake to Layton and needed a new place to get my hair cut. The Barber Shop is very welcoming. Dawn did a great job cutting my hair, gave me the perfect fade and finished the cut with a straight razor on my neck to give me that true barber shop experience. If you havent already been, give these guys a shot! They earned my business for years to come.

Don and Paul are some of the most real people you will ever meet. They also give one heck of a haircut. They will phenomenal work and they stand by what the do. Don and he father are only truly legitimate barbers. I love the two of them this shops and Im a permanent customer sold for life!

Awesome place down to earth barbers! I give it a 110% it was a lil wait nothing to extreme. Trimmed my split ends and finally cut off my sons shaggy hair made him look like a respectable boy again i will definately go there from here on out.

The lady that was cutting my hair sliced into my neck both on the front and back while she was cleaning up my neck line. Then she wanted to clean up the cuts on my neck with some alcohol oil solution and it started to stunk a lot. The pain never really went away until about 3 days later until the cuts healed. I had a hard time bending my neck in any direction because of the cuts on my neck. I wont be going back to this barber anytime soon.

Always get a good haircut. Their price is very reasonable and the service is very quick - rarely do I have to wait.

I have fond memories of the barbershop that my grandfather used to take me to when i was a kid. That place was a small shop in the middle of Layton where todays Winco now resides.When i walked into J&Ps I quickly recognized one of the owners as he was an older version of the young man that used to also cut hair at the barbershop of my youth. Come to find out it is the same family that has been barbering in Layton all these years...only now Paul cuts hair with his daughter in a different location.The cuts are still great and while the atmosphere is somewhat different, it is still a barbershop that has its roots in a tradition that has existed in Layton for at least a couple of generations now. I got a fade and a hot lather neck cleanup for a VERY resonable amout of coin and a good conversation to pass the time...just what a traditional barbershop has always been about.

Been coming here off and on for 30+ years. Now my only place to go to. Never a bad cut!

If you want a very average hair cut this is just what you get when you go to J & P Barber Shop. It is a father and daughter shop. I tried the father first and was in and out of the chair before I could caugjt my breath! He is ok barber but really doesnt cut it the way you want it. So I tried the daughter and she cared at first and did take some extra time and effort to cut my hair as I wanted! As time went by she started to take less time and concern. So my hair cut suffered greatly and I mentomed it to her, but she didnt seem to care!!As time went by I would go to the shop during their regular schedule business hours and they were closed! Within a years time I would find myself in front of their shop and they were closed! This would happen alot and I have always been a very loyal customer to them! Very aggravating wanting a hair cut and needing one and they close early. I tried to explain that to her over a text and she told me I was being rude!
