We flew in to Las Vegas from Grand Rapids, MI and had the BEST experience with Escape Camper-vans! The customer service ahead of time was very responsive which left me with no questions before arrival. Once we were on the road, we loved the fun design on the van, the spacious bed, and the convenient kitchen/storage space. It was a perfect way to camp and see so many areas of the beautiful southwest! 10/10 recommend using escape for your next adventure!
I had the best time on my road trip using Escape Campervans. I picked up my van in Vegas and drove all through Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. Their customer service and roadside assistance was 10/10. I rented the Maverick and it was way more comfortable to sleep in than I was expecting! The little kitchen in the back worked great, and the van had plenty of storage for food, water, clothes, and gear.I would definitely use Escape Campervans again!
My experience with escape Campervans was amazing! My boyfriend and I rented the Santa Cruz model for a 10 day National park tour between Arizona and Utah. It was perfect for what we needed. My boyfriend felt like the maverick might’ve been nice for a little more space to get dressed and move around in back of van, but for me the Santa Cruz is all you need. We also had really great weather so there was no reason to be in the van except to eat and get change occasionally if you’re not at a campground or place with bathrooms to change in. Everything in the van worked well and was in good condition. Operating everything was very straightforward. We brought quite a bit of stuff and carried a fair amount of groceries with us in van, but with a little organization and planning everything fit nicely! Customer service was frieendly and welcoming. We had no issues so I can’t speak to that. One thing that was a little rough at times with planning was if you need to call for any reason I always got sent to voicemail. I only tried twice though and the call back or email response time was reasonable. Overall I highly recommend!
We loved our trip with Escape Campervans! We picked up our van Tug from the Phoenix location. We drove 1600 miles in 7 days, stopping to hike and camp at some of Arizona and Californias best spots. We dropped off in San Francisco to fly home after 6 nights in the van. We had no issues other than the check engine light coming on. We called roadside assistance, and they responded immediately. They assured me that this was simply due to elevation and to call back if we noticed it running differently. But we had no further issues! It was a fun and easy experience working with escape, and we had a great trip!
The booking process was convenient, and I really appreciated the service when I called to get some suggestions about dispersed camping. Pickup and drop off were both smooth and efficient. I liked the amenities on the Maverick, including the fridge, sink, and camp stove. Just FYI, while the tip card suggests putting ice in the fridge, I don’t recommend this, as there is no way to remove or drain the drawer when the ice melts. The one drawback that prevents 5 stars was that everything was a bit old. The stove was somewhat temperamental; if the gas connection was not screwed in tight enough or positioned just right, the propane wouldn’t flow. Also, the van had no included USB ports, so bring your own converter that plugs into the lighter socket; the stereo lights didn’t work; there was a lot of play in the steering; and the tire pressure light on my rental was on through most of the trip despite all tires being at to slightly above recommended PSI. Even with these factors, though, I would still rent from Escape again, especially for a solo trip or with one other person. If your group is larger than 2 people, you might want a bigger van.
I took my 2 young sons on a 6 day trip in Shades, a Mavericks campervan. From Las Vegas to Sequoia, Morro Bay, up the Pacific Coast Highway to Alcatraz, and then back through Yosemite to Vegas, the trip was amazing and the van was a huge part of it. Shades was reliable during the driving experience (1438 miles), and as a sleeper/kitchen. Our van, like Im sure all others, had a sticker that said the vans limit is 65 miles per hour. Ill just say that I think that is a recommendation and leave it at that. It had plenty of room for the 3 of us, and was great to have instead of an RV for navigating the roads, making quick and easy beach/river stops, accessing San Francisco, and dealing with California fuel prices. Id recommend to anyone.
This was the BEST!!! I felt free and breezy in my hippie camper van ( as I affectionally call it) Also I found the staff at Escape Campervans to be awesome and accommodating. The ergonomics of the vehicle were ideal. (Way better than our friends who had a decked out Mercedes vehicle. I may now call it my happy, hippie camper van.
The whole process was very easy and fun. The van we had had over 328,000 miles on it but you would never have known. The van was very well taken care of they showed us how to use everything before we left. We got lots of compliments on the van throughout our 10 day trip. I would highly recommend doing this! My only two things is that I would request a newer version of the van and that I would bring your own fans, bc we had a very hard time finding a battery powered fan in Las Vegas in July!
Will definitely do this again! Vehicle equipped with everything you need. Car ran well had a lot of power and maneuvered easily. Levi @ Escape in Vegas helped us out with everything and was extremely professional and kind. Can’t wait to do this again!
Had a great time this last week in our Escape Camper Van! We had some plane trouble (Jet Blue gets zero stars!) and almost missed our pick up time but they stayed late to make sure we got our ride. They even hooked us up with an AUX cord because we forgot our CDs at home haha! The girlfriend and I slept comfortably in the van and cooking was a breeze! We picked up the van in Las Vegas and did 2 days in Death Valley and 2 days in Joshua Tree. 10/10 would do again! Thanks guys!!
Las Vegas Location: Great experience during the era of traveling in COVID times. Reasonably priced and great customer service. Our van (Big Sur) was a little dated/worn but that’s to be expected. Everything worked fine, including the AC; a necessity for this area. Would recommend buying separate paper plates, dish soap, etc. Also the bedding set is clean, but we bought a lighter blanket vs the comforter they had in addition to two cheap pillows. Additionally, the fridge is somewhat small but not tiny so consider a cooler to augment your trip depending how much food/beverages you want to keep Cold. Overall very satisfied and will definitely choose them again!
We rented the Mavericks for a 23 day trip. We drove 4500 miles and the van worked great. Bed was surprisingly comfortable and not too difficult to fold up. The fridge worked very well and was roomier than it first looked. We did get into a small fender bender and the issue was quickly solved. Would rent again!
Really cool way to see the country! We rented a Maverick for two people, which is what it seemed most people we met were doing. Just remember these and the Santa Cruz trucks are built for commercial use, which means minimal suspension, and most dispersed camping roads are not managed. The only draw back to the whole trip was being limited to the places we could go due to this. Consider the jeep 4x4 is available and you’re really adventurous/not camping in actual campgrounds. Despite mileage not being included in the price like other camper van rental companies, We’ll likely be renting again.
Great idea, new to the experience. Took it one way from Vegas through Grand Canyon to Phoenix! Food wasn’t the greatest at the GC so taking our own and cooking meals in the back was great. The fridge in the back was a life saver especially driving somewhere and then hiking and instead of a packing a cooler with ice we had ice cold drinks/Gatorade/water. We never got to really use the bed in the back but that was our back up in case the wild fires forced us to re route or leave our designated lodging but thank go it didn’t happen but we knew we had a great back up. The solar panel to power up the fridge was great. Coleman cooker as easy to set up (never done it before) and we had fresh food cooked every morning. The van camper drove great so why only 4/5 stars? We had a slow leak in a tire but it happens with changes with elevations but we reported it and didn’t have to change tires. Overall everyone had fun and lots of room in our passenger van converted to a camper.
We flew into Vegas to go do the popular trip to the Grand Canyon and the Mighty Five. We LOVED our campervan. We had a maverick and the kitchen was perfect with the small fridge and sink. We rented a lot from the company since we flew in. We did need to buy a cooler to keep drinks in and it was perfect. Would definitely recommend Escape campercans and I plan on renting again!
Well organized camper. The bed is comfortable, the fridge worked perfectly, The car was clean, all requested items were available. The car handling was not so good on high speed (55mph+).We liked exterior painting - easy to find on parking lots.
Great way to do a road trip! We are both pretty easy going campers, and this suited our style. If you have never driven something like this, let it be known they are slow on the highways, drift between lanes easily when being passed, and shake a little at a certain speed. Other than this, it was an awesome experience!
Two friends and I rented the Escape Maverick for a week-long girls trip to Utahs Mighty Five National Parks. It was an amazing trip, largely because of how fun and convenient van life was, and how it allowed us to be flexible with where we stayed and see as much nature as possible in a relatively short time. The van was clean and comfortable and truly felt like home for the week. It performed well on winding, hilly roads, as well as windy desert straightaways, we just made sure to take it slow. I would highly recommend Escape Campervans to anyone looking for a fun way to travel and camp without ever having to pitch a tent.
Overall we had a great time. The people are genuinely nice and the equipment is reliable, which is far better than other rental offerings. We felt safe and cared for. That said, it felt a little cheap. The rental staff did not know how to operate much, leaving us to guess on everything but the basics. We paid extra for kitchen kit and bedding kit but they were bare minimum - the fitted sheet was too small for the mattress, there were no bath towels, only one worn out kitchen towel, and thin plastic plates which were dirty. No way to enjoy hot food and drink. They only provided us with dish soap after we asked about it so that probably explains the dirty dishes. I think they are just running a tight profit and I hope they can improve as they grow.If we were interested in this kind of adventure again, we definitely would choose this brand again. However we probably would stop by Walmart and get everything in the kits for less. Maybe melamine plates.
I couldnt say enough good things about our experience with Escape Campervans! We had the road trip of a lifetime through the American Southwest. My advice: utilize the kitchen! It is there for you! We only ate out for one meal, which saved a ton of money. The rest, we cooked ourselves. If it is hot, be prepared for hot nights, and have a backup plan (maybe a campsite with power hookups and a fan from Escape) to get you through the hot nights. Our van, Squares, got lots of looks and intrigue from other travelers on the road. The vans are a great conversation starter! We had such a good time, and we would 100% rent again through Escape Campervans!
I’m not one to leave a review or even rate them but this place deserves it! Excellent customer service, fantastic vehicles, and they really give you peace of mind when it comes to worrying about (god forbid) getting in an accident and/or breaking down. For a small fee you get the no worries insurance which covers pretty much anything that can go wrong which made us feel great about traveling anywhere we wanted to go. 10/10 would recommend to all friends and family, gave us a great experience and any additional packages you can get are totally worth it! Thank you Escape Campervans.
What a great experience with Las Vegas Escape Campervans! Check in/out process was quick and smooth. The van fit all of our needs. Traveled to Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon for a week. Price was great, even when we went over our allotted 100 miles/day. The freedom of traveling in a van is life changing! Would definitely recommend Escape Campervans and can’t wait for my next adventure with them!!
We had a great time with only 2 people in a Big Sur van which is 19 feet and designed for 5 people. We slept comfortably in the pull out bed with plenty of room for our stuff. The kitchen kit and bed kit saved us a lot of room and hassle because we flew in and had all our materials supplied by Escape Campervans. The propane stove worked great, we spent a great deal of time cooking meals in parking lots and campgrounds because it was so easy.
This was the best trip of my life. My friend and I had the best time traveling around in our Santa Cruz campervan. We will be coming back and doing it again for sure!
100% satisfied! Single female traveler here. Rented a Santa Cruz, got tent sites and felt 100% safe with the privacy curtains and alarm system. Staff SUPER helpful & resourceful. Cant wait to do it again!
We had the best trip w/ our Santa Cruz van from Escape! We picked up at the Las Vegas depot, which was super easy and didnt take long (we did the pickup work electronically before we got there, which helped a lot!). The van drove super smoothly, got great gas mileage and felt clean and safe. We did have enough space to fit everything, but we ended up moving our luggage from the bed area to the front seats for sleeping. The only complaint is that the storage drawers and sink were definitely difficult to open and close... make sure you have someone at pickup explain them well before you leave. We will definitely be renting again! :)
To be honest, I would not recommend a campervan for a road trip. The van we received clocked in at 300K miles, and the wear/tear was clearly shown. We had 3 adults, two slept in the van and the third was in a roof sleeper. We rented the van for 8 days to visit the 5 national parks in Utah. The transmission kept slipping into random gears because of its age and the vehicle struggled on the road overall. In the end, it would have been better to have rented a car and camped in a tent, rather than sleep in the camper van. The van itself was in poor condition - when picking it up, we noticed that it was missing a hubcap, a variety of air vents were unusable/broken, and the sink knob was broken off. It was definitely overpriced for the experience. A basic hotel would have not only provided a better experience, but it would have been cheaper and more clean. Additionally, when we picked up the van, we were told that a sleeping kit (sheets, pillows, etc.) was for 2-3 people (per the website), but the kit only came with two pillows and we were charged for a second kit to cover the third person. We addressed this issue with the employees, however they just shrugged and said it is was it is and then charged us for two linen sets. Overall, its a small issue, however if they advertise that a sleeping kit is for 3 people, but in reality its only for 2, then I guess that should reflect what kind of company this is. I would not consider the escape campervans rental for any future vacations. They overcharge for the experience and they under provide for what you pay for. I really looked forward to this working for us, however it just wasnt the trip we hoped to have. For anyone prospectively looking to rent from Escape Campervans, Id highly recommend looking into hotels before committing to renting one of these vans. Unfortunately, I think the idea of this experience is good, however in reality, it just doesnt work and turns out to be too costly.
What a fantastic trip! Escape Campervans come outfitted with practically everything one would need. I really like the solar powered fridge which worked awesome. The layout was fabulous and the sleeping bed/cushions are unexpectedly comfortable. (In fact, it was better than some hotel mattresses). Easy to make reservations, pick-up and drop off the van. Staff really helpful and friendly. I couldnt be happier!!
My friend and I had an amazing trip traveling from Nevada to Utah and back. It was so great to know our belongings and a place tom sleep after a long day of hiking was always available to us. Thanks escape van for making our trip epic!
This is a great camper van rental location very close to the Las Vegas International Airport. We rented the Maverick van for 8 days and had a blast. They have 4 options for rentals and the staff is super friendly. They also provide (for a fee) any of the supplies you might need for a camping trip (kitchen tools, bedding, etc). Highly recommended!
Fantastic experience, vehicle was clean and in good shape. Solar panel was very helpful. The van was set up very well. Easy to use. More spacious than we imagined. Fun paint jobs for all the different types of vans. Easy to drive, drives like a car. Although we thought it came with a rooftop sleeper, we were able to rent the sleeper for added space at an additional charge. The queen mattress was surprisingly comfortable. The staff at the Las Vegas location was efficient and pleasant. We were expedited quickly at check in and at check out. Can’t wait to do it again...
Such a stellar experience with Escape Campervans! First class vans and service. Our van had everything we needed to make for an amazing vacation on the road. Mini fridge, pullout bed, double burner Coleman propane stove and fill kitchen set. We took our van (Millie!) 850 mi and she was a trooper all the way! Highly recommend Escape...we’ll be booking another vacation with them in the future!
Fun and comfortable vans. Good balance of size versus luxury. All the basics you need without the burden of a bigger RV. Very affordable compared to other options. Friendly staff, easy to work with. Weve rented from Escape 3 times, 5000 miles, all good experiences.
We had a great first experience renting from Escape in Las Vegas. Picking up the Big Sur was simple and the employee we worked with gave a quick review of the features. The van was very clean when we got it. There was plenty of seating and storage space for our family of four. The bed was comfortable and was able to accommodate my 66 husband. When dropping off the van the process was also very simple and easy. Would highly recommend Escape campervans in Vegas!
This was one of the best trips we ever took! The Escape Campervan team in Vegas was easy to work with and super pleasant. They made getting on the road really quick especially with having filled out the online check in paperwork beforehand. I was impressed with how clean our van was and with how easy it was to use it to navigate several national Parks. Can’t wait for our next adventure with them because we will be doing this again!!
Had an amazing experience with this company and service. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The van ran great, did not have any problems with it whatsoever. The bed took a little getting used to but overall it was a memorable experience and we will definitely be using Escape Campervans again. Also, in the initial search we compared Escape Campervans to similar companies and no matter which amenities we chose or how many miles we hypothetically drove they came out with a better price every time.
I think you need a way to use air conditioner when parked in full hook up without engine running. We didnt run engine, because couldnt waste energy and environment that way.The Maverick vans are old and loose steering, etc. That said, we made the most of our trip.
We had a maverick van, and it was so spacious for two people with the larger bed. We drove through Utah and slept in 15 degree weather, but we’re kept warm with the winter bedding that they offer as an add on. It was so fun and easy to cook with the pull out kitchen, while bumping beats in the van. The vehicle was in great shape, and is clearly maintained by the mechanic on site. They are so helpful and friendly at the office, informing me about coupons, and even mailing me something that I left in the van! Will definitely rent again!
My husband and I rented a van for 6 days, and drive to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Glen Canyon, and the Grand Canyon. It was awesome! We flew in to Las Vegas, and were able to rent everything we needed- bedding, chairs, kitchen gear. The van included a camper stove, small solar-powered refrigerator and a sink with a water tank. It was great because the van fits in regular parking spots, and is easy to drive.
This company was responsive and flexible which was great as my husband and I were planning a last minute anniversary trip and our plans changed multiple times from the dates we needed the rental to the location of where we were picking it up but Escape Campervans made it happen for us! We spent 5 days in Crush and couldnt have loved it more...we are already planning our next trip. The only hiccup was that the kitchen essentials was not in the van and unfortunately we didnt realize this until we were almost to Yosemite so had to buy some stuff on the road but when we returned the van they were very accommodating and reimbursed us.This short trip was even more than we expected and so grateful for the memories that we made :)
Vehicle was clean and in terrific condition. Rates were very afforable. The staff received me quickly and got me on my way in quick fashion. Returning was just as easy. I would recommend Escape Campervans to anyone looking to go on an adventure. I was impressed with how much space the van had and how much storage it had. The seating area was very comfortable and I enjoyed watching the sun set or sun rise while having meals each day. Converting the van to sleep mode took no time at all and I slept soundly in the desert each night. I was surprised with the fuel economy of the van and the connectivity it had with regards to the entertainment console, allowing me to easily play my favorite road tripping tunes. Im already planning another trip.
This was our third rental at Escape (New Zealand and Washington previous), and this Maverick van was the best one yet, probably because it was newer. My only complaint was parking. We werent offered any viable solutions, so found parking at a Hayward Bart station (there are 2, and the southern one doesnt allow overnight parking, we found out after going there!). As most of their clients fly in and Euber to their location, this is normally not an issue, but they should provide parking or have a close-by arrangement with a hotel or other parking facility. We werent sure our car would be in the Bart lot when we returned, but it was!Other than that, a great experience.
Pick-up and drop-off process was super easy, and everyone is incredibly friendly. The van was amazing, drives really nicely and holds a lot of stuff. The mattress in the back is also very comfortable!
Great campervan! Loved our camo motif. Maverick was big enough for a family of five with three grown children. Highly recommend this form of travel and this company. Was perfect for both cold and hot weather. We picked up in Vegas and returned to Salt Lake City. We had the rooftop tent which was more than comfortable for two grown people. Easy to drive and navigate. Would definitely use them again on future adventures.
Great adventure. My wife and I got a van for our honeymoon and went to all the national parks in Utah. We had the time of our lives. Great service and the van came with everything we needed to make our vacation special. 5/5 would rev commend.
Amazing service. My girlfriend and I rented our van from the Los Angeles location and went up to the eastern Sierras. A charming employee named Chrissy helped us set up our van. Her upbeat and fun energy added to our experience before we even got on the road. 5 stars.
Our escape campervan experience was completely rad. The staff was friendly, the van was efficiently built and there were no hassles whatsoever. They were flexible when I wanted to extend my rental and overall I am very pleased with my experience. I will definitely be renting from them again. Thanks
For the price, this was a great experience. Our van was relatively clean, but we were disappointed that it had over 250,000 miles on it and the driving was a little difficult (steering was off). We had to cut our trip short and we were not reimbursed for the days we didnt have the van. A bit cold at night in the mountains, so definitely pack for the weather! The refrigerator ran all night and made some really distracting sounds that we had to turn off in order to sleep.Otherwise, it definitely did the job! Surprisingly good on gas mileage and very spacious for two people camping.
I have rented from Escape Campervans 4 times and completely love this company. It is the best way to travel and see so many places in a small amount of time. The vans are very comfortable for driving and sleeping and they come with everything you need on the road. I recommend this company to everyone and through social media, various of my friends from Florida have rented from this company as well. I am planning on renting from the Miami depot soon, to explore parts of Florida I have not been to!!
Me and my friend had an amazing time with our Bigfoot camper van and enjoyed exploring Utah with it. The staff in Las Vegas as well as in Denver (where we returned it) was very friendly and helpful. The van was clean and had everything that is needed for a nice camping trip. The most useful thing we booked additionally was the solar shower ;-). The bed in the car is very comfortable and the kitchen good enough to cook whatever you want. All in all, great experience! Thank you Escape Campervans
Escape campervans was the perfect addition to our girls camping weekend to Zion national park. The team at the Las Vegas location was quick and professional! We were able to easily hop from campsite to campsite without the hassle of setting up packing up a tent. Complete with a kitchen to save time and money! Also we loved the beautiful stylish looks 🤩.Highly recommend this group!
My wife and I picked up our van in Las Vegas and dropped off in San Francisco. We hit up Zion, Sequoia, Big Sur and some of Redwoods along the way.We rented the Santa Cruz van which worked out nicely for the 2 of us. We enjoy the freedom the campervan gives us to choose our own adventure without having a structured itinerary. We had a blast, thank you Escape!!!
My experience with escape campervans out of Las Vegas was excellent! Picking up the van was simple and the employee was very friendly and helpful. The van was very clean when we got it. We had the maverick van for 5 days and had no issues the entire trip. One of the phone charging ports didn’t work great but that isn’t a big deal. We got the kitchen kit and bedding kit added and they had everything we needed. The bed was surprisingly very comfortable and the bedding was high quality. When dropping off the van the process was also very simple and easy, the employee was again very friendly. Would highly recommend escape campervans Las Vegas locations!
Really satisfied with Escape Campervans. My fiancée and I rented the Santa Cruz model van for a week as we explored all 5 of Utah’s National Parks. We were a bit nervous the Santa Cruz would be a little small but it’s actually quite spacious once situated and organized. Mechanically the van functioned fine, no issues at all.As far as the renting process, couldn’t have been easier. The staff was very friendly and professional.Thank you Escape Campervans for making this already perfect vacation even better!
I had a great experience with Escape Campervans. Everyone I spoke with was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the van was awesome. I would definitely rent from them again in the future!
One of the best camping and hiking experiences we’ve ever had. We rented for three weeks and explores all over southern Utah. The bed was extremely comfortable and the van drove like a charm. We had the Maverick.
I took my daughters on a fantastic trip around the grand circle: we stopped at Grand Canyon, Page AZ, Kanab UT, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. We loved it!! We will definitely use this company again. Plus, we felt like a part of a community every time we saw another Escape Camper Van. The paint jobs are phenomenal!
Am dying to book another trip! Our van, Emoji (or fondly referred to as Mo) did the trick for our 10 day adventure from the Vegas depot to the Denver depot. Extra-special thank you to the employee in the Vegas depot who ave us an extra comforter based on our planned itinerary. While not exactly made for ripping through the Rockies in terms of speed, our trip was comfy, fairly fuel efficient, and exceptionally convenient because of Escape. For two smaller women (both under 52), the bed was extremely spacious and comfy. The kitchen was fully stocked with the required tools and quite functional - moving your camp stove to a picnic table at your campsite made things even easier. Set-up within the van (flipping between bed and table) was simple. There was more than adequate storage for our packs and extra layers of blankets and coats.Would highly recommend booking from Escape for shorter and longer road trips, as the convenience of being able to adjust your itinerary on a whim and always have somewhere to sleep at night is incomparable. Its also a really cost-effective way to travel, as your accommodations are included and youre incentivized to cook for yourself most nights. Everyone we worked with was great, and meeting fellow Escapers in their easy-to-spot vans throughout the trip added a sense of community.
Fantastic way to travel between camping sites. We were 2 adults and a 3.5 years old, and the bed inside the car was big enough for the 3 of us. There are many storage places, the fridge works great on a solar energy (no freezer). In the first day we had a problem with the AC, and Escape sent us to a garage near our camping site that fixed it in a few hours. I Will defensively recommend this option, it was great.
Great experience overall - check in staff was friendly & helpful. The process was smooth and the van we had was really cool. There were a few nice-to-haves that weren’t included such as a first-aid kit and little broom to sweep the van floor.I would rent from Escape Campervans again!
The people in the office and taking reservations were kind and friendly. The van itself was a let down.Only one of the two benches had seatbelts and that bench didn’t have a center one. This me at only one passenger could utilize the table safely. There were limited drink holders and the tinting on the driver side window was light which gave me a one sided sunburn. It did not have fan/ ac when off over night so it was very hot. We also had car trouble that limited our adventure. The max speed is 65 and the speed limit on most roads were 75 so that was frustrating as well.
My wife and I LOVED our camper van experience - able to make it to 4 national parks with ease and comfort - amazing to be able to take our home with us! Convenient kitchen and comfier bed than any hotel bed I’ve ever slept on! 10/10 would recommend!
My boyfriend and I had an amazing little road trip in our Maverick van from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon’s South Rim and back! We especially loved the silliness of driving the van painted with beavers to the Hoover Dam. No problems whatsoever, lots of space for sleeping, and the employees are all so friendly and helpful. This is my boyfriend’s 2nd time renting from them because he enjoyed their customer service and the campervan experience so much. We both highly recommend them!
I just got back from a winter adventure in one of the Newport campers. I rented a Maverick for my trip to Death Valley last year, but wanted something with a few more amenities including heat. I took the camper up to Bryce Canyon for some cross country skiing. The weather was a bit colder than expected and I had trouble with the heater, but in the end I had a wonderful trip. I called the number for road service and was very impressed with the response. I cant say enough good things about Danielle and how quick she was to get things sorted out. The Newport is more complex than the other vans, so there is more that could go wrong, but the support is great. I have read reviews from other companies where renters had a problem and were left with a bad experience. I understand things dont always go as planned, but my quick inquiry about my problem was met just as quickly with a response from Escape and even though the trip didnt go exactly as imagined, I had a wonderful time and am already thinking about my next rental.
Our experience was smooth and painless. Check-in was smooth and quick since we had watched the virtual tour video beforehand. On the way to our first campspot, we had trouble with the van we got initially so we called the number provided and the rep called the local office and set us up with a new van right away. In half an hour, we got that squared away and on our way. The van was comfortable and we had a good night sleep each night. I will definitely be renting again. Check-out was also super easy. Great staff, great customer service!
We just finished 1346 miles in our Escape Campervans! Before heading on this trip we were either going to love it or never do it again...verdict was definitely do it again!! Family of 4 fit perfectly in the Big Sur. The van drove great, easy to park. Happy Campers!!!
Great time - tired vehicle. We had an amazing 12-day journey to Bryce, Zion, Arches and the Grand Canyon, among other places. But were surprised at how tired the vehicle - Minecraft - was. It had logged 320+k miles when we picked it up in Las Vegas. Within 30 minutes of heading north, after being counseled to check the tire air pressure daily (using a very cheap tire gauge Escape provided - better to buy and bring a good one with you!), a warning light appeared on the dashboard to let us know the tire sensor function didn’t work. I called customer service and was told not to worry about it - this could wait until we turned the van in. I guess that when paying $200 (all in) per day), I expect a better quality rental vehicle. Other issues included:- the sink leaked onto our food below it.- the small frying pan we rented was worse than useless - anything I cooked in it got miserably struck and burnt.- the rubber foot cover on the emergency break popped off a every time I used it.- the pop up tent my teen son slept in was super tired - smelled like urine; didn’t zip up all the way (not great when it rained); hard to reassemble; portions of the outside had come loose and flapped around as we drove.I hate to sound like a complainer, because we had a great time, despite these hiccups, but nothing I read in advance of the trip prepared me for how old the van or equipment would be, and I would have appreciated this info before making the decision to rent with this company.
Rented Filigree from Las Vegas depot for 10 days to visit 5 states and 8 National parks, van life is very cool! The checking in and out processes were very simple, Hollie was super nice!
My partner and I absolutely loved our experience with Escape overall! They have been so accommodating and ahead of the game when it comes to COVID precautions. We originally booked back in March but had to cancel and they made the cancelling and rebooking process so easy and simple for us. We had one of the older model vans so we knew there would be a few ups and downs with it (solar light went out, a lot of miles on the van and some wear and tear) but honestly we just cant wait to rent again and get back out of the road! I would suggest maybe updating the paint jobs on some of the older vans to be more inclusive and having a comprehensive checklist for your staff to follow at check-in so they dont forget to tell us anything.
Mack took great care of us and got us on the road in the cougar van in a timely manner. We drove over 1900 miles during 13 days visiting numerous parks and national monuments in northern AZ and southern UT. The van became a comfortable home during that time. We cooked full breakfasts and dinners in the camper kitchen which was surprisingly efficient and the fridge drawer held more than we expected. The van was easy to drive and enabled us to access more remote areas with no problem. We are already planning our next trip in an Escape Campervan.
We had the most amazing experience with Escape Camper Vans! We drove from Vegas to the big 5 national parks in Utah. Levi was so helpful and welcoming. Will for sure try to rent another camper van again! Best spring break ever!!!!!!!!!
Great experience!! We did Zion, Bryce, Capitol reef, Arches-Canyonlands and Grand Canyon. The van ran great for the 1,600 miles. Thanks so much
Had a great time in the Big Sur for our trip to the Mighty Five! Only recommendation would be to ask for enough plates and cups in the kitchen set. We were shy one set. Otherwise the van was great and we had a fun time!
Our trip was so much fun, and escape camper and made it very easy! Levi was so helpful and nice. would definitely rent again!
Loved everything, except the water tank was not filled all the way, the gas meter was not right, and the tire pressure gauge was on the entire time even though the tires were fine.
We had the Santa Cruz model van and it was perfect for all 5 of Utah’s national parks and spots in between. Not your standard “off road” vehicle but did well with unpaved roads.
I think I would use them again? A better understanding of their Buisness model may help to know what you’re getting into. I don’t know exactly how it is set up, but here is an idea based upon my recent experience. At 33/day and .30/mile your roughly paying the federal mileage rate. Not bad for covering your costs but they still need to turn a profit.Extras. This is where a decent return is likely made. Bring your own stuff if you can to save some travel costs but what they offer isn’t complete junk, you just need to pay for it.Insurance. Get it. At least for the van itself. Although I cannot speak for the other vans, the van we got into had over 250 thousand miles on it. After we pulled out of the lot and onto the interstate at about 55mph it started to shake a little. Not bad, we kept going but two hands on the wheel at all times because she tracks more to the right than a camper van should. And it was noisy. Not complaining too bad about the noise it didn’t really bother us but it was noisy. About day 2 the van started surging a little at certain speeds. By day 3 this had become more noticeable at a wider range of speed and the check engine light came on. Day 4 we returned the van avoiding a roadside breakdown or worse if we had been out in the middle of the desert with no cell signal. My concern with renting again would be the reliability of the vehicle and depend on where I plan to go. If they are buying old work vans with high mileage for cents on the dollar and converting them into camper vans it would be a better return but there is a better chance that you have mechanical issues along the way.Oh and it would be nice if they had a key drop. Make sure you arrange your travels around their 1.5 hour return window. Also would be nice if they didn’t stick out like a sore thumb with the paint jobs. All and all I would consider renting again but would maybe want something with at least some lower miles. Happy travels.
We drive from las Vegas to Scottsdale and back. Engine light came on 1st day, contacted them, thought O2 sensor out. Van drove fine. They instructed is to take van to AutoZone for testing. Escape had us add couple bottles to has and just drive it. Van ran fine the whole time though. We didnt use the van for cooking or camping. The suspension on it was pretty bad and roads were in bad shape too.Would definitely rent again this time to camp.
To start off with, we were late to pick up our van due to some flight delays and they helped us right away! Before we left they made sure we knew how to use all the parts of the van and gave proper time to ask any questions we needed. The staff remained friendly and helpful for the entire experience. The van itself was badass!! It was way better on gas than I thought it would be and it ended up snowing for over half our trip and the van had no issues! Super comfortable and easy to keep organized! The fridge space was small but we rented a Yeti cooler from REI down the road in Henderson and I’m just stoked for anyone else! Thankful for this company’s existence.
The good: Escape Campervans are an amazing way to see the national parks, or camp/ travel on a budget. The vans are spotless when you pick them up, which is saying a lot because they tend to pick up a lot of dirt on a road trip. The “it might be bother some people”: the equipment is not new, but it is clean. Most travelers confuse new and clean, the vans have miles on them. The “needs improvement”: Originally, I was attracted to Escape because they were very forward about total cost, in the last year they have begun the “nickel and dime” pricing structure that most travel companies use these days. The total cost is about the same, but my family budgets, and knowing what you are going to pay is important.Considerations: When you book, make sure to get the table, chairs, 1 tank of propane, bedding and kitchen supplies, If it’s cold get the cold weather kit.
The whole experience was excellent, from the booking process to the drop off. The service was amazing, the vehicles were perfectly equipped and made our trip with kids amazing. We picked up from Las Vegas, headed to Zion, Canyonlands, Archers and Sedona. The rooftop camper was amazing for the kids and the setup in the van was so comfy to sleep in, kept us warm and couldnt hear anything. Totally worth it and will definitely will be doing it again.
