I’d give a couple of bonus stars if I could, these guys are great. Our washing machine stopped working, so I called on a Tuesday morning to have someone come out. Initially the appointment was scheduled for Thursday, but a little while later they called to say they could get someone out in thirty minutes to have a lookI’ll skip the technical details, but this was a really tricky problem - intermittently the machine would not drain. They came out twice to try to figure it out; then I got a call from Steve (company owner) saying he would like to stop by on his way home from work to try one more time. Using wiring schematics (hidden in a secret location inside the washer), he was able to isolate the problem and repair it on the spot – no parts required, other than a length of wire to bypass the bad connection.Although they came out three times (on the same day I called), we were charged a very reasonable amount for a single service call. Fast service, reasonable cost, and an owner that just won’t give up till he finds the problem. Keep the number for Steve Slayton Appliance Repair handy, these are the guys you want to call!

I had an unexpected issue with my refrigerator that caused us panic. I called the first number I could find to get a repair person out to look at the refrigerator. The repairman from a different company gave me a number of issues and their corresponding remedies and their corresponding hefty price tag. He discovered that in fact my refrigerator was working just fine and did not need any of the unnecessary repairs that the first repairman suggested. We have used this company for several years. Our most recent experience was with our front loading washing machine. I called over the weekend and left a message. I was called back early monday with a date and time a Tech would come out. David came out and was kind, courteous, helpful and explained everything to my wife. He did not have the part needed, but was honest on the repair time (based on the availability of the part). He came back later that afternoon and repaired the washer, true to his word. My dryer stopped working one day. I attempted to replace a circuit board part (relay part you can only get from China), but the dryer still did not work. Steve looked at and tested the board I attempted to repair and noticed that it wasnt receiving the full power. He replaced the board, but also noticed that the drum wasnt moving properly and replaced a bracket too. I was in the process of paying him and asked him about a small leak in the back line of my refrigerator. He said I had the right part, but it was faulty. He quickly replaced that as well and fixed the leak. I have already referred him to a friend of mine that doesnt live far from me. Steve Slaton is the real deal. I highly recommend him. I broke the hinge on my dishwasher trying to pull it out to replace the drain hose which was leaking. Called Steve Slaton Appliance repair on Thursday, they were able to come out the following Monday.Monday the employee spent about 15 minutes trying to fix the hinge, which couldnt be done. The part was ordered and on Wednesday came back and had it fixed, along with the hose that caused the problem, in about 30 minutes. The hinge was expensive, but the labor charge was fair. All in all, spent about 30% of what a new dishwasher would have cost.Ill be using them in the future if anything else in my house breaks.

Steve is very knowledgeable and helpful. We had some water standing in our dishwasher (half an inch). Since it is 13 years old, Steve recommended getting it replaced instead of repaired...very upright as they do not install new ones. Also, he suggested checking the air gap - a quick two minute action. It was indeed blocked, and cleaning it up has our dishwasher going again. Thank you Steve!

Our Roper dryer has been drying more and more poorly. The dryer just seemed to never get hot. I phoned Steve late on a Friday afternoon and he phoned me back after 6:00 PM. I explained the model and symptoms and he explained that there was likely a block in the duct somewhere and the automatic safety was probably preventing the dryer from getting too hot. While on the phone, I checked the outside vent and there was no dryer air being vented. I then pulled the dryer away from the wall and removed the connection to the dryer at the wall while the dryer was running. Large masses of lint, wife hair, dog hair and wooden matches (where did the matches come from?) spewed from the dryer hose upon straightening.Upon inspection, I discovered a dent/kink in the flexible connection between the dryer and wall. Problem solved.Steve could have charged me to come take a look and repair it, but he didn’t. He correctly diagnosed the problem over the phone for free. Well done, Sir.

I called in for a dishwasher and they had someone over same day. Good in case of an emergency like hand washing mountains of dishes! Reasonably priced, he came back 2 days later to install the parts. Everything is running good so far. I would recommend and use them again if I need to.

Hi! I 1st want to explain that I havent actually had the need to use this company, but I will go out on a limb and say that I have a suspicion that they provide quality service. And heres why. Today, I noticed that my gas cooktop was burning orange flames on all 4 burners. Now, Ive had this happen before, but only 1 burner - not all of them. Concerned that it may be an urgent matter, I contacted Slaton Appliance. Becky answered the phone and was very helpful in scheduling my appointment. She answered all of my questions, and was even helpful when I called back to ask a question about my washing machine. (Thats another story.) Later in the day, I received a call from the owner Steve Slaton. He was scheduled to personally come and service my cooktop, but after seeing my service call, he decided to phone me instead. Rather than coming to my house and charging me a service call, he did something that Im pretty sure Ive never experienced.... he told me over the phone what he thought the problem was. He said he was certain that was it and didnt want to come and take my money. Wow!!!! He said within 24 hours of correcting what he thought was causing it, my cooktop should be working fine. I corrected what he suggested and within hours, my cooktop was burning blue flames again. I was floored by my unusual experience with this company and the owner Steve. So, I never actually got to the part of the quality, but I have no doubt that if he cares about his work as much as he is ethical, his quality of work will be top-notch!!!!!I am certain there arent many companies who care more about the customer than they do about the dollar. I called him last night leaving a message telling him that my dryer wasnt working he called me back the very next morning, Saturday morning, to speak with me. He asked me a few questions over the phone and he knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. Even though he doesnt work past 1 on Saturday he squeezed me in. He came over fixed it at a good price and did an excellent job! I would recommend him to anybody at any time!

Steve arrived at my home on time. He did a thorough assessment of why my dryer might not be heating. He identified the faulty heating element and had it replaced in under 15 minutes. I called him on my washer, and after I took a look at it, Steve recommended to replace it, without ever having come out. He could have come and made a repair, only to have it fail again shortly. Steve Slaton is an honest, experienced and trustworthy appliance repairman. This is very uncommon today. He returned my call within 30 minutes and attempted to talk me through a fix for my non-draining dishwasher. When I could not figure it out, Steve came to my home in Katy, TX within 30 minutes and found the debris that was blocking the drain pump and repaired it in about 20 minutes. His fee was outrageously low and was 4 times less than the Sears Home Services annual repair agreement that they tried to sell me. Call Steve Slaton to save time and money.

Steve took my call after 5pm, his tech David out the next day to diagnose and fix the heater on our clothes dryer. Impressed by David, efficient young man, courteous, knows his trade. They use original OEM parts and had the part on the truck. Markup was fair . Labor pricing was fair to good . Only down side was parts and labor warranty only 90 days which I thought could be better . Ill use them again.

Great guy. Great service. I called Steve’s office at 5:30 PM on a Thursday because the ice maker on my LG refrigerator/freezer had not worked for several days. He called me back 30 minutes later and set an appt. for 2:00 PM the next afternoon. Steve rang my doorbell at 2:10 PM Friday and was able to diagnose the problem within 20 minutes. No parts were needed. It was a simple fix. I was only charged his callout fee. This is a man of high integrity and a company you can trust for your appliance repairs.

Called Steve in the morning on 10/25/2018, he said his service tech Raul would be at our house between 1-2 in the afternoon to fix our microwave. Raul was here at 1:05, opened up the microwave and found that one of the three switchs was bad. Raul changed out all three switchs, because if one is bad, the other two are not far behind. Raul was very nice, neat and clean with his work. I get at least three bids when getting anything replaced or repaired. Well, you know who won....Steve Slaton. He will be my first and only call from now on.

Raul came out and was done in no time and was vey friendly with a big smile on his face. We noticed our clothes dryer was not working as well as it used to work. I contacted Steve via his website at about 8 pm, expecting that I would need to call the next morning. He responded before I went to bed with his best guess at the issue, a price based on his assessment and suggested time for the repair. As it turns out I had given some incomplete info up front, and Steve then got right back to me again (within 30 minutes) and advised it is probably my vent and that is not something he can fix. He did put me in touch with a place that can do vents though.In the end I did not contract Slaton Appliance. However I am so impressed with the service and promptness of the replies that I can guarantee if I have any appliance needs in the future I will call Steve Slaton.

I called Steve and described the problem we were having with our refrigerator (GE Profile Arctica not cooling) and he was very knowledgeable and familiar with the problem and gave me a good idea what could be wrong and what it would cost to fix it. I wanted to know, so that we could compare the repair cost vs. buying a new one.I called others, but they were all pushing for a service trip first without giving me a clue what could be wrong, because, by then, we would be committed to have them fix it no matter what it is.But Steve was very upfront and showed up right on time and did an excellent job and saved us money. After seeing great reviews on the website Yelp, I decided to have Steve come over and fix my GE refrigerator because the water was not coming out of the dispenser. Not only did he fix it for me but showed me how to fix it again if a similiar problem occured. I then told him of a problem my Maytag washer was having (making a loud noise when spinning the laundry) and he fixed it too! You can trust Steve and he is affordable. I contacted Steve Slaton for a washer repair that I was dreading. I had an idea of what the issue was but not confident.
