I took my niece who was very happy with her set of active length nails. I only wanted 2 repairs but wanted the clear tips which they didnt have nor did they have the gel colors I needed. I was ok with that. But they try to push the pedicure of you.

I have been meaning to post this, but I will not be returning to this shop. The people seemed nice, but they really didnt cute my toe nails as you can see in the picture. I wasnt sure what the nail dresser was attempting to do (French Nails?) but this was not a place for me or maybe I am wrong but my nails dont look like they should have cost $25... Maybe $10

I am visiting KC and went to Modern Nails and Spa on 63rd St. I should have followed my first mind, as the person I was dealing with was not friendly, but I need my nails done. Im not sure if it was a man or woman, but he/she was not friendly but since I needed my nails done badly, I figured I would just get them done. I even asked if they were mad and was told they dont talk while working. I did not feel welcomed, but since I am visiting I wanted my nails to look nice. All was going O.K. until I notice one nail was slightly crooked. This was in the beginning, no polish just gluing on the nails. Well they was not happy and redid it. When filing, one nail was not quite rounded. It would have taken one swipe of the file but they got upset and immediately cut all the nails off. I asked, What are you doing? They said, I cannot help you. I was shocked. Anyway, once they were cut off I was sent on my way with the remaining pieces glued on my nails. Meaning the pieces would have to be removed before I can get them done. I was forced to go to a beauty supply store to get glue remover to get them off and guess what, my nails are still not done. I was almost in tears to have been treated this way. I am a very nice person, but I was almost pulled out of my element as I have never been treated so poorly!!! Although my nails looked bad, they looked worse when I left as there are pieces glued on!!!! Please dont go there and if you do, please stay away from the man that looks like a woman or the woman that looks like a man. I am not trying to joke as this is not funny. I now have to find a nail shop. I am extremely unhappy and embarrassed. I am owed an apology!!!

Very poorly done full set. The nails don’t want to come off. I’ve been filing my nails down daily bc the regular removal acetone hardly did anything & it resembles thick superglue. ‘Y nails are brittle & when they where freshly done I had lumpy acrylic. I’ll never go back.

Always get a great pedicure. Lisa is the best and takes her time so you can throughly enjoy a relaxing time.

Went there in 2-7-2021 Superbowl,sunday, 3 nails are already gone way to thin not enough acrylic, no hard work of heavy anything I answer phones from home. Waste if $55 dollars and a tip for short thin ugly coffin nails

I got a fill and gel polish and the next day the gel polish started chipping. I went back to show them and the owner charged me $1.00 to fix the nail and the very next day two more nails started chipping. I will never go here again.

The place did an absolutely horrible job on my feet. That manly looking one was very rude to my husband. It was the very first time in his life getting a pedicure and she was yelling at him because he wasn’t understanding what she needed him to do. I definitely had to check her about that, and she got it together afterwards. Good customer service brings returning customers. We were the only customers in there and now that I’ve read some of the reviews I understand why. I should’ve checked the reviews first before spending my money. My husband even gave these unskilled people a tip which they did not DESERVE, before I could say anything. And the rude one threw up her hand and said thanks like she didn’t care. You pay your money you work for, to these people for a service, they should be respectful and satisfy there customers NOT just certain ones. I WILL NOT give this shop another dime of my money, and I will dissuade all friends to not seek their services.

This place is horrible service and poor quality, not clean at all, no covid protection at all, poor quality customer service, they dont greet you, they dont ask you how they can help, they stare down at you and tell you rudely if you made an appoitment and then sent you out the door not wanting your service, i would defienelty not reccomend this place to anyone, I went there today for my first time thinking it was going to be a good experience and it was the opposite and embarrassing .

Closes 1-2 hours early everyday. I came in the first time at about 5:40 they were suppose to close at 7 they had one person and said they close at 6 not 7 but online it says 7 so I tried to come in again the second time few days later I called as I was on my way to see if they closed at 7 she said yes but there really busy I was already pulling up and there’s only 1 person in and there getting toes done so as I’m walking up to the door the lady locks the door fast as if she doesn’t see me and walks to the back. So I knock and they try to lie saying there closed and I just called they said they closed at 7 she says there busy and they have no customers WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Unreliable and closes when ever..

I’ve been coming to this nail shop off and on 2 years. Previous to my visit yesterday, a girl and the manager had an argument while the manager was doing my nails that kept me there an extra 40+ minutes. Yesterday after providing me service, the nail tech up charged me the normal price I paid the last time because I had 2 nails missing. (And I usually break 2 nails before my next fill) You cannot just charge whatever you feel per customer and was offered a discount on my next visit. No thank you, will not ever visit again nor recommend. I don’t appreciate random prices and ghetto arguments while I’m being serviced.

The service was friendly and the cost was reasonable. But the nails were not worth the trip. I tried a dip that didnt last a full week and was easily 3 mil thick. I tried an acrylic next with a gel color. These are also too thick. See the pictures. They also tore up my cuticles putting them on. I wont be back for a 3rd visit.

Great place and when u go ask for Catherine. She is patient and meticulous to details. A perfectionist! And she speaks English enough for me to understand her. 💅🏾💁🏽‍♀️

I got a pedicure here and it was wonderful! They made sure my feet looked better than any other salon by taking he time to really clean up hang nails and such. My French tips looked amazing and the lady was so sweet. I will be a regular customer.

I use to go there all the time. Lately it seems like theyre too busy to get the job done right and on the first try. I was pushed off to a lady who had no idea what zebra print designs were. They took my money before the job was done and it was done incorrectly. I had to waste my time coming back Im and showing them a picture of what I wanted. 3 days later my nails came off. Honestly, what did I pay them $30 for? I Heart YOU get what you pay for but this isnt what I paid for. They seem to have remorse but refuse to refund my money.

My nails look great. The lady that does my eyebrows is amazing. My concern is about the cleanliness of the salon. When I first went in, my gel nails had to be soaked off. In comes the bowl of acetone. Nothing irregular there. Afterwards, I watched my nail technician take the bottle of acetone, squeeze the air out and suck the acetone back into the bottle he squirted it out of initially. My initial thought was how many other people have had this same acetone on their fingers. It was one of the most disconcerting things Ive seen in a nail shop. Made me question other things. I get it that youre trying to be resourceful, save money. But, to me, its a little gross.

According to Yelp, they close at 7:00. As I write this review, it is 6:00. We left at 5:30. This is my first time coming here. I didnt realize they closed so early and I still didnt know they were about to close until they turned a couple away maybe 15-20 minutes into the visit and then locked the door. People were still trying to come in. There were other people there. I was asked what service I wanted. I asked for three pedicures and three finger nail painting for three little girls. They said ok. They started on the first child and had the other two wait. Cool. When they got to the second child. They said they would just paint her toes and hands instead of doing the whole pedicure. Then she said nails paint only for the second and third child. I was doing it for a birthday. So Im glad that the birthday girl went first and recieved what I asked for. If they didnt have time to do all three children like I asked and they said they would, I would rather for them to turn us away. I could have took them somewhere else or came back tomorrow. They didnt even have the two children who only got their nails polished wash their hands. Two sad children who didnt get the whole experience.

I called an made an appointment. I got there 5 minutes before my appointment and they all was looking at me like there was no appointment. I talked with Katherine, I simply wanted a fill and fix one nail. This place is the most horrible place I have every gotten my nails done. Totally unprofessional to the max. The he/she Woman or man fix my nail and never bother to see that the nail she put on was longer than all my other nails. When ask to file down more she got an attitude. She began to work on another client and I said are you done with me. She said nothing. Later see said oh let me put oil on your nails. I will never ever go to this place again with those same people working there. This place needs to be shut down or get professional people in there that knows how to care for there paying customers. I usually get the works all in one visit and spend up to 80 dollars. Not at this place, you have lost a loyal customer along with all her friends and family.

The manager is rude. Me and my daughter always come here for years now but today is our last day. Do to the fact I ask him one favor for me daughter can u cut them shorter. He went off on me in front in my daughter cussing I said Im not being disrespectful to you so dont be to me especially in front of my children.i deal with customers as well always keep it professionals manager/ owner whomever u are.

I AM VERY VERY PICKY WITH MY NAILS AND TOES AFTER 20+ YRS OF HAVING THEM DONE AND THE 1 AND ONLY TIME I FRICKEN GO TO STAR NAILS RAYTOWN MISSOURI THEY MESSED UP MY LEFT BIG TOENAIL SO BAD ITS TAKEN ALMOST A YEAR TO GET RID OF THE FUNGUS AND NAIL TO GROW BACK!😡😡😡😡 SOOOOOOO SOOOOOO EMBARRASSED TO WEAR SANDLES.... BUT MS LINDA HAS DONE A GREAT JOB OF GETTING MY FEET TO ONE AGAIN LOOK AMAZIN (STILL IN PROGRESS BUT HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS)

First time at this location. I received a full set. About a week has passed and 3 nails have already popped off. I will not be returning.

Poor service. Low quality results. I always felt that it was disrespectful of the techs to speak to one another in Vietnamese. It was frequently obvious that they were talking about their customers in a negative way. Tension filled salon. Many of the problems have become more pronounced since new management arrived. I will never waste my time or money at this business again!

So on this particular day I walked in there was two nail techs and the lady that does the pedicure. (She is awesome ). All was sitting down I walked in told them I needed a fill sat in the chair and no one even got up i sat for 5 minutes at least. I got up and walked out. Not one try to even stop me . HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. . !!!!!

I have been going for almost two years. If you want a basic color application, full set, gel nails or a pedicure they are fine and I would recommend. However, i notice my nails start lifting after just one week. Just left with ombré nails... yeah... honestly the worst nails I have ever seen.

Saturday afternoon, really going to the Dollar tree store for Halloween candy, after getting hair done. Needed my eyebrows arched, so I stopped in the nail salon to see if they did this. One of the nail techs, were very helpful & courteous. One first time getting my brows waxed---ooch!!! . But she did an excellent job. I havent had much luck lately with nail salons in the Raytown area, but I think this salon Ill go back to for nail service & brow service. Thank you Modern Nails & Spa.

They suck... They open at 9am but only one worker is there, she only does toes and speaks no English... I suggested they put up a sign stating nobody to do nails til 10 but this man/woman it watever spazzed at me, like she was the one who had to wait freaking 45... Screw them... Take your money elsewhere!!!

So I usually go to this nail salon all the time but I bet I never step foot in this mf again the manly looking nail tech denied us services after asking how can she help us . My sister told her what she was getting and that’s when the lady stated that we had to make an appointment now remind you I go here all the time never had to make an appointment before also there is no signs or nothing stating that you have to make an appointment when I asked is this something new that they are doing the manly looking lady got an attitude with me and said this is how she like to run her business so I decided to leave and just go somewhere else as we are walking out the lady comes to the door and yell out “next time don’t bring any kids to a nail salon” because I had my daughter, nieces and nephew which my nieces and sister were going to get there nails done and the kids were getting theirs polished . I feel that they discriminated against us because we had children with us the kids came in and set down was being very well behaved and not only that it was a lil girl already in there with another lady it upsets me that this is the type of bs we have to deal with this is Modern Nails & Spa on 63rd near blue ridge in kcmo

I got my nails done on Thurday and its only Saturday, they have a sign saying if youre not satisfied with your nails to call within 3 days. I called and they wont even fix their mistake and the guy is rude. My toes were done great but my full set was jacked up my nails are slanted and all different lengths. These people are not professional at all.

I came here to get a full set mind you me and my best friend was 2nd and 3rd on a list of 12.. they handled EVERYONE before us because they were getting pedicures & full sets so they skipped us because they were paying more money. AFTER 3 HOURS we finally got in chairs.. it’s was almost close so THEY RUSHED & did horrible jobs, my bestfriends left pinky was longer the her right !! It WAS VERY NOTICEABLE!!!! And her middle finger was lopsided. My right index finger was longer the my left index finger 3 days later 1 of her nails popped off and 5 days later 2 of mine popped off. I called the manager & he refuses to fix it and he’s BEYOND RUDE & decided to over talk me then hang up in my face!!!! I AM PISSED 😤 I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY & UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! DO NOT WAIST YOUR GOOD MONEY HERE!

This place is horrible, never again will I come back! They have no customer service skills what so ever and they talk about their customers through their broken english. Time to start hitting these places where it hurts the most, and thats in their pocket!! I asked the lady how long the wait would be and she started mocking me to another nail tech and laughing. I didnt even get mad I just walked out and spent my money at another place that was even closer to my house😊. On top of that I was offered wine and the owner definitely knew how to engage with his customers and the other nail techs were very nice and funny. Smiled and made you feel like you want to come back.This place here I will never return to again, and needs to be closed down until they take a class on Customer Service and how to be perfessional!

My experience was horrible i usually go to somewhere else but i figured id go here to save time. I was not awear that they had new management, i arrived and was greeted kindly and seated quickly. But it instantly turned bad i was seated at a pedicure chair $25 and left for 20 mins in luke warm/cold water. I was then asked if i wanted a foot mask at additional $15 okay i agree. Told the manager and tech exactly what i wanted once services started the tech couldnt do a white tip smh. We then went back and forth about what i wanted the assistant manager said thats a extra $15 okay thats fine but say that at the beginning dont change prices in the middle of services. Needless to say they refused to finish left the skin mask on my legs and feet, and i was told to pay and leave. I told 2 different people what i wanted if you cant do that then say that. Horrible service no recommendations
