I’ve been going to the Lacquer room for a few years now. I typically call a few hours before I’d like to come in, and most times can get an appointment that quickly. What I love most about this salon though, is that you don’t need to worry about requesting a specific nail tech, because all of them have done incredible on my nails. The stations are set up connecting and in a circle which I also love, I usually end up chatting with the person next to me and it makes the salon experience more social (and you can see the nails being done next to you as an idea for next time!)

I had a lovely experience! My technician was so funny, and he did a fantastic job on my nails.

This place is always amazing! Everyone is upbeat and enthusiastic. Im there every other week and love it! Tony is the best!

I went here because we just moved 30 minutes from my home salon & I did not have time to drive back before I needed my nails done.Pros: not bad on wait time with an appointment even though I changed what type of service I wanted, they still got me in fairly quick. Also, my nails look decent and prices aren’t awful. I paid $38 for a full + gel polish.Cons: I felt super unwelcome. No one said hello when I walked in until a couple minutes where one of the male technicians asked me to go wash my hands and asked what service I was here for.After getting seated, my nail tech said hello and then did not speak to me until the end when i was paying. Even when I needed to switch my hands or move them closer to her she would just yank my hand or tap on the UV light. The entire time she was doing my nails she was chatting with the technician next to her but again, spoke only a maximum of 10 words total to me. I am normally a person that doesn’t like a whole lot of forced small talk when i am getting services but It felt very rude to just move me around and tap on things with no explanation.There were other technicians who spoke to their regulars and seemed kind, but I just felt like I was not wanted in there.Apparently only a couple of them are able to do acrylics as well? Which I felt was very odd.Additionally, she did not clean her drill bits in between the client before me and my nails. Which I feel is very unsanitary but I’m not certain what their rules are in their field.In summary, I won’t be returning. If you want okay nails at a decent price but feel like you’re being looked down at the whole time, then you should be fine with the technician I had. The a couple remaining technicians seemed kind, but I guess it’s just who you get.

They always do a good job. Call to make an appt. Walk-ins good luck with the pandemic and restrictions due to social distancing do your self a favor and call. I always regret when I am impatient and go somewhere else because I didnt plan accordingly. I always end up back there for them to fix other places mistakes. They are always willing to go above and beyond. They are clean, pleasant and just awesome. Do be prepared for dip to spend 40 to 45 without a design. French is 50. I didnt get my feet done this time but you will walk out feeling amazing after a pedi. Do not waste your time with other places.

I use to really enjoy this salon. Today was the 3rd most recent appointment that was awful. I had an appointment for dip on my nails and a change of color for my toes. They had me soak off my nails and then wait 30 minutes past my appointment time. The lady then started mine AND went back and forth painting mine and another person’s without washing her hands..She rushed my nails, skipped steps and they completely forgot about my toes. My fingers are sticking together and are “peeling” due to the acetone removal. It looks awful. I was so frustrated by the end of the ordeal, and still need to get them redone. Waste of $50.

Been coming here for years, I exclusively see Amy but everyone is fantastic. The salon is always clean and everyone is always friendly and the communication is wonderful. I highly recommend making an appointment as they stay pretty busy. I make the 40 minute drive because its the best salon around.

I had a dip with tips done recently and I’m very happy with the results. The staff was friendly and Joey did a great job on my nails.

I had an amazing experience here getting a full set of nails here! Ive never had such a beautiful and accurate nail design. The place was clean and the environment was friendly! I will say that you will be paying extra for the amazing quality.

Way to much of a hassle to get in and your nails done. Over crowded to much traffic that they cant handle. You can not walkin and get your nails done. Scheduling on advace is a must. The decor and appearance wasnt what I expected. Not very upscale/ relaxing.

We just moved to the area and I am so happy I chose this salon. Very friendly staff and this is the first time I have ever left a salon and not had to fix my nails when I got home. I got a full set and they are perfect and exactly what I asked for! I have found my go to!

Great place to get your nails done! I never do May nails so I went in and they helped me through everything. I showed them what I wanted for my wedding and they made it happen!!! They were all very nice, and my nails were beautiful! Thank you all for making my nails wedding ready!

Pedicure review - I called and asked if they could put an acrylic nail on my toe because it is missing and they said they could. Went to my appointment today and waited 10 minutes, then they had me sit at a chair and I told them I wanted to make sure they could do my big toe because otherwise I wasn’t going to do a pedicure, she said they were running behind but they could and stick my feet in the water for 10 minutes. I stuck my feet in the water and then the nail technician looked at my toe and said she couldn’t do the acrylic nail because my toenail was missing. Wasted 30 minutes today for nothing and disappointed.

I decided to try this place after I read some reviews on here. I went with silver gel and asked for a cat head for a decorative bit on my big toe. The guy who painted it did amazing. They are a bit pricey, but the quality of the work is worth the price. My nails and design stayed on for a couple of months before I took it off. No chipping, and everything stayed pretty. Only went for a pedicure, but I imagine their manicures are just as good.

I got my nails done and cluster eyelashes. I had an appointment but still had to wait over 20 minutes before they could do my eyelashes. This was my first experience so I was unsure if the service I got was normal seeing as clusters are much cheaper than individual eyelash extensions but I don’t believe the application was correct. There’s way too much glue. I removed them within 5 days because they looked so wonky. They were so hard to remove even after a ton of olive oil was applied. My acrylic full set was average but overpriced. Within a week two of my nails have broken. I felt like they rushed with me because they overbooked and had other customers with appointments waiting as well. Definitely won’t be back.

Literally cannot say enough good things about this place!!! My nail tech Tammy is incredible and so personable and nice. She made sure the color and shape was what I wanted every step of the way and even sampled colors out for me to make sure of the color choice. My nails lasted 4 weeks including a week spent at a cattle ranch riding horses and hiking all over the place. Amazing!

Ive had nails on and off for more than a decade. These are the loveliest nails Ive ever had. Lee did my set, black dip powder. He was so precise and thoughtfully shaped each one. I love it and I love Lee and I will definitely be back!

Third and last visit. Unfriendly, cold environment. Techs do not listen and end product is sloppy. My dip nails look rough and pitted and, for lack of a better term, lumpy. Would not recommend.

The environment is perfect for someone to come in and relax! The nail techs all sit in a U and the customers sit around the circle which is very cool and different. It would be perfect for a couple of friends to go together. Cute decor, lots and lots of options of colors. I asked for short coffin with matte and an accent nail. I’m happy with them but feel they could be more pointed and they are still pretty long. I will be definitely coming back bc the atmosphere was great... might show a pic next time to be sure I get exactly what I want.

Edit: Today was much better. I really like the gentleman up front, believe hes related to owner, he carries himself and treats customers well. He also does a great job running the place, keeping things smooth, and was courteous. My nail was fixed promptly today. I will be back.--------------------------------------------Im really upset. I came in yesterday evening, and my nail has already completely broke off my ring finger.I paid $70 plus, and theyre gorgeous. Other than this, the experience was pleasant. Im obviously not a hard laborer however, and there is no excuse for this.Im hoping when I show tomorrow, they will rectify this.

Got a jelly pedi for my friend and I the pedi was terrible I have ingrown nails my feet hurt and are in worse shape now then it was to begin with when she put my feet in the wax it only covered my heels I said something and she said it’s ok extra massage only cut 6 of 10 nails I drove 45 minutes due to reviews and wish I saved my time I would never come back !

I love this place. Yes, their prices are a little higher than most other places, but my nails look amazing every time. Ladies, it is worth an extra 10 bucks knowing you will look good when you leave. I know how hard it can be to find a good nail salon. I drive 45 minutes to go here. Worth it.

My daughter and i have been getting our nails done here every few weeks since tgey opened. My 7 yr old son asked to get a pedicure for his birthday (he often comes to sit with us), and what a relief it was that they were so happy to have him come! I have clients fly in town to visit from NY and LA, and they love coming here. Such a fantastic place!

Tracey is kind sweet gentle. And wonderful to me. She fixed my nails after another salon (and I hadnt had my nails done in two years) over dipped them and made them extremely heavy.

Pedicures: the nail technician cut my big toe nails much too short and I have been in pain since leaving. My daughters technician did not make the same mistake, so I guess it’s just the luck of the draw on who you get. The pedicure itself was average at best. We purchased the middle of the road service (I believe the scent was tangerine if that helps) and there was little in the way of callus removal and no massaging. It was not worth the money.Manicures: my mom got a basic manicure for 17.00 with just clear polish. When she walked out her nails felt rough rather than smooth. My daughter paid for gel polish. Be prepared to pay 5.00 to have them remove your old polish! Ridiculous. Her nails did look good when leaving, but she ended up paying more for gel than I did for dipping powder.Even though I said I wanted a manicure, you have to stipulate separately if you want your cuticles maintained.They had a lot of colors to choose from and the wait was not long even without an appointment, but I do not recommend them due to low value for the high prices and the pain I am experiencing after the pedicure.

This place was a disappointment..I was excited to try out because of the online pictures of nail design ..I called a day prior to make an appointment and specifically stated to the lady who answered it was for nail design! ...and when I get there they have no one available for designs and everyone was booked until after Xmas! I asked what I should have stated and the answer .. we don’t know ?!... drove 30 minutes for no reason but at least got my eyebrows waxed and they look great! I won’t return .. if your trying to get new clients for nail design and you advertise it online then put directions of who to request when making an appointment since you apparently have only 2 people doing them ..Did not feel welcomed and problem was solved with sorry !

My husband and I are out of town and were passing through, we stopped by for two pedicures. Not only did we get immediate service but we got excellent service. The staff were all so friendly and informative of the area. If I ever pass through again Ill definitely stop back by.

I have been going to Roxanne for a little over a year now and she does a excellent job. I have been disappointed with my nails once and she made sure she correct them before I left the salon. Even in her absence I had good service with her mom Tracy. I would recommend that a new customer make an appointment walking in ok could be waiting awhile do to there high demand. I have never experienced any bad vibes with her staff everybody is so friendly and they make you feel comfortable.

I have been going to Roxanne for over 3 years now (before she opened Lacquer Room) and she has always been so fantastic. She cares a lot about her work and making sure all of her clients have great experiences. Everyone on her staff is wonderful. Even when Roxanne was out for a few months, I could go to anyone there and still receive great service. I hands down recommend this salon to anyone who asks me.

The attention to detail was unbelievable. I even changed my mind on some things and she never seemed annoyed. It almost felt like she cared more about how they looked than I did! I loved it! Very clean too

I came in with a difficult design and they made sure it was done right, Phillip asked around to make sure he had the right person doing the design! My nails turned out great! Just how I wanted!! They more colors to choose from than any salon Ive been to! And they really are up on the latest trends! I highly recommend visiting! Make sure to make an appointment. This nail salon is above and beyond the usual salons. They stay up to date on the trends in manicures, pedicures, and facial waxing.There isnt the smell of polish remover, the place is clean, bright, and wonderfully decorated. The music is at the right level. The polish selection is amazing. The nail techs know the latest styles. I just dont have enough words to say how much I enjoy this place.

I went here earlier today, and my nails have already chipped. I got an acrylic gel fill and asked for my nails to be shorter, when the lady was clipping them, one nail completely cracked and she just went on with the manicure. And while laying in bed today that whole piece that cracked, fell off. Also, every nail is a different length, she never even checked to see if they were the same.

Went for the first time today wonderful customer service not to mention my nails look phenomenal! Phillip performed my pedicure very well done and gentle! Roxanne did the design on my nails. All I did was bring in a picture and they came out perfect! Thank you all of you I will definitely be returning!

Well they do a good job on your nails and I like the cleanliness and decor but theyre also NOT friendly at all. Ive tried this salon 3-4x now. I definitely think theres gotta be a better salon out there where they make you feel welcome instead of feeling like we have 100 other clients, you dont matter. Also the prices are a bit higher than other salons I have gone to. Will not go back.

Cant speak highly enough about the owner or the nail technicians here. They all go above and beyond to make sure your experience is at the highest standard. The different techniques and array of colors they offer is worth the drive I make. I drive 20 minutes just because this salon is one of the best if not thee best in the Kansas City area.

Wonderful service and very clean..

This place feels like a high school. They are super nice to some customers (the regulars) and super rude to anyone else. It is very cramped and if you go with a friend (which I think a lot of people do) they do not consider that at all. Most of the time I will be done 45 minutes before my friend or vice versa. Its by no means a bad place, in fact its pretty much the same as any other place I have been to, but I heard RAVES about it and I still do. Do not believe it, its all hype because its fairly new. Do not expect anything out of the ordinary.

I have been ther a handful of times and they have always done great work. This last time, however, I was getting dip and not really paying attention. When she was done, i looked at my nails and honestly I wasnt really impressed. There was several nails that had lumps or sanding marks on them. What bothered me the most was there was dried blood on one of my fingers where she had nipped me while cutting my cuticles BEFORE the dip. I will not be going back.

I have been here a few times because everyone I have talked to said they do amazing work but every time Ive gone my service has be average. Today I went in for a pedicure & dip powder with extensions, throughout the pedicure the lady was very rough to the point I had to say something, and she was like that throughout my manicure as well. I didnt get the same shape on every nail & some are longer than others (I am currently fixing this myself). All in all, I think you pay WAY more for what you get.

I’ve only been here one time and they did a good job so I decided to go back to get my dip redone. I arrived at 6:10pm and they turned me away. While I can appreciate that all of the workers are tired and would like to go home to enjoy their Friday night, I, as a paying customer, arrived with sufficient time to get my nails done, but was still turned away. I was very disappointed and will definitely be reconsidering other nail salon options in the future.

I had tips with dip and one tip fell off 6 days after I get them and two more two days later. I called that day, since after the first one happened on a holiday this was the first time I could call them and they were going to charge me to get the new tips. There is one more that is probably not going to make it much longer. I have never had this issue with tips before (I usually go elsewhere). I feel this was from improper placement/not enough glue or something. I am not paying them more money, I’ll just go back to gel nails from now on. Wish I hadn’t gone there to begin with.

My daughter had me come to this nail salon with her cause she lives in Liberty and I live 45 minutes away! So I usually just stop wherever for a fill and I have to say Laquer Room has the best service and friendliest staff! Highly recommend!

I came here on a Saturday to get a pedicure and fill and the lady told me it would be a 30 min wait so I agreed because I really needed my nails done. I end up waiting an hour and a half with out anyone asking me did I need anything or what place I was in line. I watched numerous walk ins that came In After me get called before me for the same exact service. I love the work you guys do but this was just terrible customer service. I probably wont ever visit again. Im very upset.

First time i went there i loved it. Second time was terrible. She had to keep redoing a few nails. She was more worried about what she was going to do after work. And did not pay attention to what she was doing.

I hate to write this review since I love to see small business owners succeed, however my experience was aweful.First of all, I had a 2:00pm appointment set up and did not get seated until 3:15. After the man finished my nails (which look fair at best) I did not even get hand cream and a warm towel. If I am paying for a service, I expect to get the FULL service. Not only that, but when I got home I had to use a nail file to remove rough spots left on my nails. I will not be returning.

Live my regular nail person there, and the pedicure chairs in the back are awesome.

I have been going to the Lacquer Room for several months now. From the beginning the nail tech girl I had was late. Not just 5 - 10 minutes but 20 minutes and I had an appointment. This happened everytime I had an appointment. You would have thought the manager would have said something to her about this. I liked the location and the product they used BUT just seemed like a lot of tension there between the techs. I had an appointment this morning and was 5 minutes early and waited an additional 15 minutes and then I asked where my nail tech was. A tech said oh she quit. I said was anyone going to tell me. I thought I would have got a call saying she quit and say I have another nail tech here to take care of you or at least tell me that when I walked in the door. Nooooo that wasnt the case they took walk-ins before a person who had an appointment. They asked me to wait a half hour before they could get someone in to do my nails. I find there was no manager or if there was one she didnt do a very good job taking care of business. I guess they have so much business they dont need anyone else. Customer service sucked.

Got my nails done a week ago and had a terrible experience and the designs are already peeling off.To get dip nail and a design took 2 hours and the woman kept messing them up. She put the wrong size tip on one which squeezed my nail in and told me not to worry about it when I asked her to fix it. Then she messed up the design and someone else had to fix it. The nail techs then told me my design was too complicated and I’m just “extra.” Though I showed them the design when I arrived and they said it would be no problem.I just called back to get them fixed, set an appointment and when I asked to confirm the fix was free of charge I was hung up on. I’ve tried to call back 5 times and it just rings. They use a cell phone company for their phone service and have caller ID.Unacceptable, especially for how much I paid.

Got in super quick for my mani and pedi. Super nice staff and good prices. 2nd time there and definitely will be back! Great place to get pampered. :)

When I visit from Vegas this is my go to salon! They do an amazing job on my nails. My gel polish lasts so long, the quality of work has always been great. The only thing is that I probably won’t get a pedicure ever again. It’s very short. My water was cold, they didn’t wash off the exfoliating scrub from their hands before they massaged my legs so it was very painful. Then they cut too far back with the cuticle nippers and so my toe kept bleeding and was in pain the rest of the day but my toenails were greatly polished! That’s just always been my luck when it comes to my toes 😅 Besides that I’m definitely coming back next time I’m in town

I have been coming to the laquer room for a little over a year. I was so tired of all the other salons in the northland and their work not lasting even a week. Then I found this place. Everyone is so friendly, although I always make an apt with Roxanne. I bring my daughter with me to have some girl time and they are all so friendly to her. They always offer her a drink and sometimes Roxanne sneaks in some chocolate for her while she waits for me to get done. I absolutely love this place and am so happy I found it. My nails are always amazing and I get so many compliments.

First time visiting, everyone was down to earth and friendly. We made friends.

Had a 10 AM appointment for the 3rd time and my technician was 20 minutes late for the 3rd time. Apologized, but then proceeded to tell me to come later in the day to accommodate her tardiness, incredibly rude and horrible pr suggestion! Then my service was rushed due to her tardiness. My hands were covered in acetome remover from soaking so long. No cuticle treatment and only one top coat. I canceled the pedicure because of time issues, but it was subpar as well last time. I asked for a different technician next visit, but have decided there are many other salons, so i wont be returning. No compensation or offers to rectify. Definitely find another salon! Very disappointing!

So I made appointments back in October for myself and my niece because my niece has been begging me for MONTHS to take her somewhere that can perform “Pinterest worthy” designs. I read up on the location and found a wonderful article about the owner, Mrs. Roxanne Nguyen. Extremely impressed I called and explained to whomever answered the phone that it is super crucial and important that shaping is f perfect. I am a licensed massage therapist so EVERYONE always sees and looks at my hands. I’ve always kept my nails done since Jr high, I’m 31 now. Anyway, I requested that Roxanne do my nails because I am suiuuuuuper picky when I comes to my nails. They informed me that she no longer takes new clients and that she is often out of town so they’d note my appointment but there’s no guarantee that I’d actually get her. Well December 22nd arrived and my niece and I made it to our appointment. We were immediately greeted, I let the guy know my appointment time and he then greeted me by name. So.... Lucky me, Roxanne was in the location and I got HER! I always get the Greek key (Versace)cut into my hair Bc of the symbolism (not just the brand) so this Christmas I wanted white with the Greek key print. I wanted simple, elegant and unique. Roxanne took her time on my nails as well as took the time to patiently assist my young niece and her nail techs with what she desired for her nails. Everyone was so welcoming and polite. Roxanne is creative and HIGHLY skilled. I showed her a few Versace nail designs I could find online to give her an idea. They were all crooked and none of them perfect but it was at least a visual of the design. She ROCKED the design and the soft almond shaping. Her line work is so perfect it looks like a nail decal was laid rather than her using a brush. I will probably never get her again but I am SO happy that I did. She’s super cool and super gifted at the art of nails. I am happy for any young woman with her own business. I have been to a ton of places around the KC area and none match up to the hospitality and pure gift of Roxanne. I’m no celebrity but she sure made me feel like one. If I could give 10 stars, I definitely would.

This place will take care of you. I recommend the spa pedicure! Get the tropical spa pedi treatment package that comes with mimosas! Wooo! The staff can really take care of a mans foot! I always love the motorized massage chair for the pedicure too. It really works out the kinks in my back. If you want a place to get relaxed then this is a great way to do it. My wife and I had a pedi at the same time. Her nail polish lasted for months. Please Hit the like button.

Our 45 minute wait turned into 2 1/2 hours. Then to have them sit down acting like my daughter and I were an inconvenience to them. Had to ask for a second coat, ended up with color on multiple fingers and she said to my daughter that it would just come off. Will not be coming back for our every 2 week nail days.
