Our family has had a great experience with home encounter. We just resigned our lease for a 2nd year with them. Heather and Donna make a great team and handle tenants with kindness and sincerity. Would definitely recommend their services going forward.

***WARNING**** Use this company AT YOUR OWN RISK**** If you are an out of town property owner, and if happens like it did to me, will at first make you sgn a 12 month commitment. Then disappear for a month after which youve most likely talked to another company to manage get bids for scope of work to said rental they come in with a work order for 10X the amount and when you say youre coming to access the situation then they change the locks on the doors and try to get the work done without your authorization and try to force you to pay for work that you had fly out and higher another company to do. Not only that its done with sub par and the cheapest quality materials they can find. USE THEM IF YOU LIKE LIENS AND LAWSUITS, because apparently thats where Im heading with these people.

As previously mentioned by another commenter, Heather is the best part of this company. When my property manager is impossible to get in contact with, I email her and always get a response.We actually just got an eviction notice because this company does not communicate with each other. I have never been late on rent but have gotten warnings 11 times by email.Try to avoid them.

To be mentioned before the rant below: Heather is the only positive part of this company.I could not be happier to have made our final payment to this absolutely horrendous company. The owners of our home made the very wise decision to drop this company when they realized that it was impossible to get in touch with anyone. Not only did we file multiple online requests that were never attended to, we made more than a handful of call to the company, left many messages, and never received calls back. Thankfully our homeowners were able to proactively help with many of the issues we encountered (albeit they were out of the country), since Home Encounter is completely unavailable to its clients and renters. Every change they have made has been an inconvenience, and rarely communicated ahead of time (the time they switched websites and didnt notify us ahead of time, so payments were late; the time they changed their payment systems, had us re-enter our bank info, added a convenience fee, and then changed it back to the old system and added a higher convenience fee; the time they changed the maintenance requests to online only-- which would be fine, except that they would then close out our requests without even calling to addess the issue and it was impossible to contact them by phone; shall I continue?).Finally, Im sorry, but no legitimate rental company charges a convenience fee for direct debits from a checking account anymore. This company nickles and dimes, and sometimes even debits the owners account without reason or permission, forcing the owners to have to call to have the money refunded. But that is only a small grievance compared to the laundry list of complaints that we have with Home Encounter. Good riddance!

What can I say about Heather Balls other than she is a top notch agent. If I could give her an infinity amount of stars, I would. I had a few hiccups with maintenance issues, but eventually they were all taken care of. Thank you Home Encounters.

I did not start with them by choice they took over the property managing company that I picked from my moms a state we are out of state and it’s hard to manage properties from California this company was he perfect representative for my mom’s property and they were able to coordinate a sale from out of state very well I think them very much

The house I was renting, my lease was up yesterday, changed hands for the second time in the 1 year lease I had, the other leasing agency was no better. Since it changed hands to this company, I have not heard form them at all. I put my termination of lease in back in December with the agency at the time, Park Avenue Properties, you would think that if the property is changing hands that the new property management agency would contact you, to make sure you know of their process for moving out of one of their properties, nope not at all. But believe me when it is time for your rent to be due you will be contacted. So I received an email this morning, from Tabitha Powers, saying since I never turned the keys in that I would continue to get charged rent, well since no one bothered to contact me concerning this process I was going by the process that the other agency sent me, which was to leave the keys in a kitchen drawer. I also wanted to be present for the final inspection, was told it is scheduled for today, one day after the lease is up. So I requested that the agent that is doing the inspection call me when he is on his way to that property so I could meet him there, no response back. I also called Jonathan Fox about this matter, no response back. Not very good business practice.

Well, here we are again! I need a repair and Im in the same situation as before. Due to character limits I was not able to post my email thread with my property manager Yolanda Hayes who has been unhelpful and very inept regardless of how menial the task. Your company should really be embarrassed. My garage door was reported broken on 1/5/18. Today is 3/21/18. Im sure I could have exhumed a dead body by now. It is a knock down drag out fight every single time (twice) Ive needed a repair. This is exhausting, but Im not stopping. Beware and DO NOT move into a property that falls under Yolandas umbrella better yet just pick another company all togetherBelow is my original review. I should not have had to go to such this extent to get this taken care if, nonetheless, it was taken care of. The completely replaced the pipes I was having the issue with. Thank You!I live in a home that was recently purchased by this company. It is a tri-story home with a level that falls below the sewer line. I reported an issue with raw sewage in my toilet 1/25/17 ( fecal matter) . Today I get a call from a plumbing company to schedule service. Obviously, I want same day service as I have been waiting for two days. There is a history of this particular toilet imploding on the doors, carpet, drywall etc. on two other occasions. This is hazardous waste that can cause serious illness. I am also trying to be proactive as I have experienced this before and I know how expensive it has been to replace all of the components in the bathroom previously. I requested an appointment at 4pm today. It was 11am at the time of the call. A Representative of the plumbing company tells me that Home Encounter wont want to pay after hours fees, the appointment will need to be earlier today or tomorrow I explain the history and let her know I will contact the company directly. I attempted to call and leave a message with no response. I had to email my Agent Yolanda to get a response. I explain the situation to her, she then has someone to call me that clearly could not make a decision. I AGAIN explain the same situation to him and let him know that the signs of the toilet imploding are taking place. He responds telling me to take precautions so the toilet wont overflow. He requested that I wait until Saturday so they can save a few dollars. I AGAIN reiterate that if the sewage overflows as it has in the past, it would be costs of much more than an after hours plumber.It is obvious to me that this company has no officials with the capacity to know that raw sewage can cause severe illness and close to 72 is not a sufficient response time to raw sewage. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, Health Department, Centers for Disease Control, and any other Agency that comes to mind. I have already read the Florida Statutes and I know my rights.AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

My experiece with this company is the worst. i been asking for work orders to be done since august but nothing has been done. They tell you to put an work order in online and they will someone to fix. none of my work orders has been fix. since Dee davis has ben here, she did everything in her power to get everything done. she answer all my concerns and got m work orders done in timely mater. She always calls to to make sure everything is done correctly. She always goes out of her way to help everyone out. she is a great person. Ms Davis god bless you and thank you for everything you done for my family.
