Black mold everywhere, roaches of all different sizes, beetles of all different sizes, ants, warped floors from dampness under the building, huge bees building nests inside the window frames, flea infested grounds, rotted wood in entrances, the office rarely answers calls or emails if they do they feed you a line of BS. There are Unsafe signs posted from the city of Jacksonville on more than half of the units.
When I lived there it was hard to get maintenance out for anything. They swapped out the hvac system but didnt come back to patch it up. Its drafty and theres no insulation. The socket in my kitchen went out and they didnt come fix it. The faucet in my shower kept breaking. To make matters worse all the apartments are condemned now and marked unsafe/unfit to live in.
Living here was a last resort and a night mare. When i first moved in management wasnt that awful but the upkeep wasn’t the best I lived here for 3 years and watched things just get worse over time. Houses spontaneously catching fire, cops racing through all hours of the day. Drug deals across the street, and domestic violence simply became the normal for where i lived . However after Florence my house definitely had moisture damage to which the property managers neglected. Mold in the vents was painted over with spray paint, the walls were bubbling over and my house was infested with fleas and roaches. I’ve stopped by a year after leaving Amd to no surprise it’s exactly how I’ve left it. I wouldn’t wish living here on my worst enemy. It’s more of a trap neighborhood
Not Dog friendly they say they dont allow aggressive breeds... Im aware this is normal for aprtments but most aggressive breeds arent aggressive unless they are not trained. Moving from North East and desperately looking for somewhere that allows German Shepherds.
These apartments are great if you’re trying to save money or want to live about 5 minutes from Wilson Gate but that’s about it. When we first moved in, the apartment had rotted floors and nails sticking up out of it. The dumpsters are about 20 feet away from our back door, so not only does it smell awful all the time but the roach infestations are awful no matter how much you clean or spray. Most of the empty units were recently slapped with a notice from the City of Jacksonville that says, “Unsafe. Entry may result in death. Comments: Violation of Minimum Housing and Building Codes with hazardous conditions.” I think that speaks for itself.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Town Center staff for their professionalism and pleasant interactions. I was a resident for approximately five years and have seen the positive changes that have implemented by the new management company.Residents are treated with respect and have been provided with and atmosphere of greater safety. In addition, the community engagement activities are instrumental in providing a greater sense of community and family.I have recently, relocated to Georgia and I would like to say thank for providing a home away from home to a person who had no family within a 200 miles radius. Keep up the good work and keep moving forward !!!Thank you again
I wish I could give 0 stars, this was our first apartment experience and it has been AWEFUL because of these people! would not house with these apartments. I put a 250$ saving fee down, just told be told 3 days before my move in date that I no longer had an apartment, I was promised a full refund, here we are two months later, still nothing, though I’ve been speaking to someone, I called their higher up managing office, just to be told they were never sent a request for my refund and that the person I’ve been speaking to, Ivoree, doesn’t even work there anymore! When I called to the office, no one answered. It’s been a NIGHTMARE and no end in sight!
I have a bill on my credit in collections for an apartment I never even lived in, but my ex did. Never married either, but because I’m somehow tied to his name they opened a joint collections account. They assured me after some hassle it’d be taken off. 2 years later this 2600 dollar bill is still on there. I’ve disputed this false account and will take this into legal hands if need be.
Extremely unprofessional. The website states they have plenty of open availability, which is a LIE. I scheduled to view an apartment, was given email confirmation about the viewing, and yet management had no idea what I was talking about. The apartments are CHEAP in both a positive and negative way. Do not allow yourself to be mislead by their website, and always make sure to triple call and check in multiple times about your concerns, or they won’t get taken care of...
I stayed here a few years back, and seeing all of the negative reviews prompted me to leave a post of my own. I had no issues with the staff at all, very nice and respectful from the beginning to the end of my lease and move out. The other tenants were also very nice in the dealings I had with a few of them. The fact that its conveniently located in the center of town is an added bonus as well. To top it off you cant really ask for more affordable pricing! There are blemishes as with any place you decide to stay, but with this location I believe the pros outweigh the cons!
Me and my husband tried to rent a place shortly after we got married. Were looking forward to having a place of our own finally and they would noy rent to us because my husbands previous address (which was his parents before he went to boot camp 4 years ago) said that there was an eviction notice for the address. His name wasnt on the lease and his parents moved from that address shortly after he went to boot camp. But because of this they would not rent to us. To me that makes no sense for you not to rent to someone who can prove they make the income they asked for and he has no rental history because he lives in the barracks. They didnt even call us to tell us his application was denied they emailed us.
Please do NOT move in here!! My 8 month old and I recently moved here with my husband and the apartments are horrible. They are infested with roaches! I’ve called many times and they never answer or give me a call back. They pretended to care and said they were going to exterminate but never did. The doors are sideways so there are ways for bugs to get in. My son and I had to move back to California with my parents because the roaches were climbing on our bed and it’s not sanitary!
Crime and roaches. I have lived here not even 2 months and the place is infested with roaches and i have been broken into twice and i came to the office worried about the health and safety of my children and they brushed me off and promised to spray for the bugs but never did no matter how many times i pleaded with them to help. Paid for it myself to try and fix it but it was so over run it hasn’t done anything. I’m fearful for our health and safety if we stay here but they don’t take police reports and the health department seriously.
I have lived here for 2 years with no issues. My renovated apartment is in great shape, and if I need something it is handled in a timely manner. The whole staff is very helpful, and is always willing to help! I have enjoyed my time here, and appreciate everything they do.
In all honesty they show you the best apartment at that time, once you sign your name your stuck, roaches is horrible, maintenance doesnt do well and management is well under rated! I moved here from another state and although my credit wasnt perfect they gave me a chance. Everything was ok the first year even though I had a maintenance request first 3 days. They change property management which seems like every 6 months. Bugs is horrible, toilet stops up a lot, loose flooring, outside of apartments is completely falling apart, termites eating through door wood. Really sad that the best thing they do constantly is keep the grounds looking nice. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT RENT FROM THESE APARTMENTS!!! If I could post pictures I would, oh and if your allergic to mold PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont expose you or your family to such sickness, its throughout the whole apartment!!!!
I would never recommend anyone to rent from Town Center Apartments or Tarantino Properties. The property manager will charge you for things you didn’t do when moving out then never answer phone calls or emails. The apartments are infested with cockroaches. My stove blew a fuse and for a month and a half I went without a stove or properly working electric. Eventually the property manager had maintenance cut the power to the apartment because the breaker was getting too hot but didn’t offer us anywhere to stay causing my dog and my pregnant self to live in the cold with no heat running water or electric but I continued to pay my rent. At that point I broke my lease early. Now the property manager is trying to make me pay property damages for things that were broken or non existent upon move in or were damaged by a water main break that maintenance never repaired. Also, upon move in I was never given a move in sheet to document damages upon move in and the property manager stated tenants have to ask for one or they just put a blank one in your file. The assistant manager assured me that there wasn’t anything in my file. I was billed after 30 days of moving out and when I ask for actual damage receipts they cannot come up with them. I had to pay for electric lost groceries and hotel stays because of the property manager cutting the electric and not fixing it and I wasn’t offered any sort of reimbursement. The property manager stated that renters insurance covers this but because it’s not a natural disaster and was caused by the choice of the property manager they are liable. The apartment was moldy no matter how many times I cleaned it. I was also told upon move in that I could plant a flower garden if I wanted to and trim the bushes down if maintenance wasn’t maintaining them and when I did so they are now charging me for destroying the tree. When I first moved in the stove didn’t work at all and it took them 10 days to fix it. When I moved in I was told I was signing a paper that would cover up to 750$ in damages when I moved out at no cost to me and now I am getting charged the 750$ because it was a surety bond that was not explained properly by the staff. The assistant manager assured me that if she was in charge none of this would be happening but the property manager doesn’t care about humanity or any tenants that live there. This is an awful establishment and needs to be shut down.
I enjoy my time here and have had good experiences. I think it’s a pretty solid place for what it’s worth. I’ve had no issues with the staff so far, Chelsea is wonderful.
I am so tired of this place. They have a I dont give a s*** attitude about everything. Nothing is their fault, theyre short staffed, well get to it when we get to it. Thats all I ever hear. No one does anything because the process of getting reimbursed for anything is horrible and no one wants to spend that much more money and time than they already have to fight this place. Hopefully people will learn to never use this place. Once this lease is up, you can bet were gone. Air conditioning was out for a month, roaches everywhere, water turned off with no notice, things left undone.... The list continues. All I can say is stay away!!!!!
I would like to introduce myself, I am the new property manager at Towncenter. I just took over the property at the end of July. I do realize that the property has some issues. I am here to try to take care of some of those issues you are facing currently. It will take a minute before you really start seeing a difference. Please feel free to reach out to the office and ask for me. I will do my best to change your opinion about this property.Sincerely,Robin Blackburn (Site Manager)
Professional staff, exceptionally knowledge and helpful. Newly renovated apartments, landscaping provided. Shopping within walking distance. Easy to notice from traffic.
These are some of the worst apartments Ive seen. Called multiple times about my bathroom floor. Feels like any day now Im going to fall through the floor. I could easily pull up the cheap linoleum flooring. Ghetto neighbors steal anything that you have on your back porch, charcoal, lighter fluid, chairs, everything. Rent is too high for these old buildings. The main office loses your paper work, so they will say that you didnt pay your rent. Anytime you have maintenance issues it takes them weeks for them to reply, thats if they reply at all. There are several drug dealers in the area, there have been several shootings as well. All around a bad area. They constantly have new management coming in, so be prepared to deal with people that dont know what they are doing. They never answer the phones, so if you have a maintenance issue, or questions youll have to physically go to the office. All your rent money doesnt go to repairs, it goes to the employees getting a brand new office. Even with a new office the employees dont understand whats going on and dont care about your well being. My apartment was labeled unsafe when the contractor came in, but 6 months later and they havent done anything and will not lower the rent. They will screw you over, so make sure you read every single detail in the lease. All around terrible living, terrible employees. Avoid this place at all costs. This was the worst apartment I could imagine.
There office is terrible with communication and when i went by there where ppl inside yet no one came in and when I peaked inside they hid
I have lived here twice in two different apartments. You get what you pay for. Thats what you should expect. When you make a repair request you have to be patient and some times you have to call and remind them, but then they get it done. With no fees either. Like I said they are good apartments for what you pay for. EVERY single place you live will have problems. I honestly think this place isnt all that bad and I have lived in a lot of places considering the constant moving because I am in the Marine Corps. Ill give it a good review, because theyve always been good to me. Expect what you pay for and if you really have a problem then make more money and move into different apartments.
We love living here. We are hoping to stay much longer! Definitely see a difference since the new manger came along! :)
The staff is far from friendly or professional! They are very rude, disrespectful, stuck-up, lazy, unorganized, unprofessional, they dont fix nothing! If u keep it real with the staff about fixing stuff they wanna throw u out! The apartment complex is infested with stray cats, and roaches! All the staff are fake....they laugh in ya face and talk crap behind ya back! The new apartment manager is very snobby, rude, she has an attitude problem, she is disrespectful, etc! The maintenance are all racist! The apartments are falling apart! These apartments are not worth what they charge ppl!
Not the best of apartments, they need major work. The foundation under the homes need to be rebuilt. The appliances are ok. Town Center is in the middle of everything, stores, malls, shopping center, restaurant and entertainment. These re the most desirable things about Town Center. Dont let me get started about the mold. If you have lung issues run away. The office hardly has anyone to pick up the phones. They band aide all issues, maintenance is a joke. They need to be torn down and rebuilt. The owner has money but not spending it properly.
I loved Town Center. I visited about a month ago and seen a three bedroom. No-one really greeted me accept for the person that helped me Tiffani. She was so helpful and made me feel like I was the most important person in the world. I will definitely be moving to town center when I move to NC in January.
This is by far the worst place I have ever lived in my life, and let me tell you I have lived in some bad places. The staff here is all brand new and no one know what they are doing. Just a few examples.....just this last month they lost my rent check. Another few things, this apartment was newly renovated when my wife and I moved in, after living here for 3 months everything started falling apart...literally. There is s whole in my ceiling that water pours through when it rains, the seals on the doors do not deal properly so outside air and insects are constantly coming through (huge cockroach problem) my ceiling is literally falling off in chunks. The air vents are falling out of the ceiling, the crawl space under the unit is flooded with sewer water and you can imagine the things people flush (specifically feminine hygiene products). But the big thing is that none of these would be that big of a problem except for the fact that for the past 4 months these problems have just been getting worse and the staff has not done a single thing about it, we have called them over 70 times and we always get the same response...oh Im so sorry thats happening Ill write up a ticket and get it to the maintenance guys right away. Only for me to call the maintenance lady on her personal line and she tells me she has not had a single ticket come across her desk for my unit. Needless to say, this place is not somewhere you want to live. Not to mention that my neighbor smokes certain illegal substances in her unit and when she does it comes through the vents into my unit and makes my whole apartment smell terrible. I wrote this report to fully inform future patrons to know just A FEW of the problems that I have experienced in the half of a year I have lived here. I hope this helps in crossing this place off your lists.
I’d like to hope that reviews would lead a company to improve or build off of their criticisms however this clearly doesn’t mean anything to town center apartments. I’ve never worked with a more unprofessional company in my life. Friendly until you’ve signed a contract. There is one person who’s helped me out and everything else is like pulling teeth to get anything done. You get what you pay for, in this case you pay to get nothing in return. The good news is there are affordable apartments that are well kept in Carolina Forrest. I’ll never make the mistake of not listening to previous reviews again. Do not rent from this company.
Really dont know where to start!! Do I start with awful management or maybe with the biting bugs and giant cockroaches. Or I could speak on the mold and the sinking floors. Comfortable living my ass! I wouldnt suggest this place to my worst enemy and the bad part of it is I have to stay until my lease is up. Oh I forgot...My pipes burst 2 mos. ago spilling over 22,000 gallons of water under the apartment. It took them almost a week and a half to fix it and I was responsible for paying the bill even though it wasnt my fault. You have been WARNED!!
Do not move here!! Ive only lived here for almost 6 months and there were so many things wrong with my apartment. There was a leak in my toilet and there was a urine smell in my bathroom. The maintenance man looked at for 5 seconds and said that I need to clean my house better. It took him three weeks to come down just to say that. I keep my house spotless. Also they are charging so much money for apartments that are falling apart. It takes weeks for maintenance to come look at your apartment if there is a problem. Make sure you keep all of your receipts because they will claim that they lost them and that you are behind on rent. I only moved here because it is closed to my job but do not move here.
Continually changing management companies and employees. Thats the first sign there is trouble . Second sign is the horrible conditions of the apartments, Simply old and failing. Their sewer system didnt even meet federal regulations so a part of the apartments were/are uninhabitable. Area definitely a draw for criminal element. New river is the last stop for many people who simply cannot qualify to live anywhere better because of drug, and /or credit issues. I truly dont believe ppl would stay there if they didnt have to. The area reeks of desperation and desolation. Jacksonville police have an increased presence in area due to the criminal element but lots of policing work to be done til that place is any where near safe. Newspaper high lighted recent robbery and assault in broad day light in the area. Management company will faithfully stall you on any repair work you request and when the work is completed, the work will be the quality of an amateur or completed as cheaply as possible with the same issue(s ) reoccurring in short amount of time. maintenance men come and go as well because theyre poorly paid and not given resources to repair items correctly and tenants get upset with them instead of management . Simply put. Stay out and away !!!!
I live here for three yrs and had troubled with getting maintaines out but what got to me was the move out charges 120.00 for carpet cleaning for carpet thats going to be replaced anyway. I cleaned it myself also and still no deposit back.
This place is fxxx ridiculous, I have to move out. I wish I can give zero star. The house conditions u can find from all other reviews. I rent short term before the place I bought is ready, I have nowhere to go literally otherwise I won’t choose here. But that place closed date delayed so I have to stay here. For three months I dropped the check and they all said I’m good, until three months later they asked me to pay $100 more and late penalty for 3 months, and they said they mailed the notice and they don’t know why I didn’t receive it. Also I didn’t receive any emails. They never respond the email, and the phone is always busy as well. My rental manager left this place. Another girl name is Kayla Morgan lied directly that she didn’t receive my email, and she doesn’t know why because she is not a IT tech, but she insists she is an accountant that need to collect my balance, because that is her job. And she said it’s my responsibility that if no one responds the email, I need to call the office or come to office directly. I guess they really don’t care about the review or anything, they treat u well when u sign the paperwork or pay any fee, but that’s it. They don’t care customers since all the customers here are temporary and young. If you want to live here, wish u luck!
I went and toured these apartments last week and was amazed by everything. The people in the office didnt even speak to me when I came in, and I had to approach one of them to get the rates. When I went and saw one of the apartments it was worse than I thought. I came in this past January and didnt feel this way at all, I brought my wife because I actually enjoyed it last time. I could tell the girl who showed us the apartment was uncomfortable. The was not a refrigerator in the apartment and I was told the smell was because of the refrigerator (that wasnt there), the hard wood floors looked like they had been clear coated and not cleaned, and it was just dirty. I wish I had not wasted my time. Not to mention that there was a big sign by the door that said rent is now late that is not very welcoming at all... There were dead bugs in the apartment and I couldnt even open up one window in the apartment because they were painted closed. For $500.00 a month it isnt even worth it.
These homes obviously need a lot of TLC. But it’s affordable, the cheapest place I could find in Jacksonville. I was in a hurry to move because of issues at home, and they were very helpful with getting me into a place quickly. It was a good temporary solution, I would never live there long term but it worked great for what I needed! The staff has always been kind and understanding towards me. They always made every effort to make sure I was helped with whatever I needed. It’s not my ideal home to live in, but being a single person making minimum wage, I can’t complain. You can’t expect Taj Mahal quality for $550 a month.
My apartment since moving in (5 months ago) is still infested with cockroaches, I’ve been paying monthly for a washer and dryer that has still yet to be installed and now my air conditioning is broken and they only have 1 person fixing the 13 work orders ahead of me which is causing my apartment to be 90 degrees with my animals inside all day long while I’m at work. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT RENT FROM HERE
Keep getting charged for renting their washer/dryer unit when I have my own. Instead of giving me a refund for all the times I’ve been charged they go and charge me again. Trying to get this issue resolved is impossible. Trying to get in contact with anyone who can help me is useless. And every time I have renewed my lease my rent goes up an extra 15$ a month for the same stupid apartment I’ve been in. Mold grows everywhere in the house. People shoot at each other across the street from my apartment at a public play place where kids are. I can always smell people smoking marijuana at nighttime there also. Glad I am moving to Pennsylvania this month.
If I could give it no stars I would... the place is falling apart there are paint chips everywhere including in the bathtub, they dont have storm doors and you can feel the air just seeping in and the customer service sucks .. if it wasnt for the fact that we had already put money into we would have gone with another choice .
Horrible loving conditions my flooring isn’t attached to the wall in the kitchen and they raised my rent to renew my lease. Plus there’s a water bug infestation and cat infestation around the whole property
After calling and visiting numerous apartment complexes in Jacksonville and dealing with multiple rude and unprofessional staff, I was pleasantly surprised by the staff at town center apartments. All of the staff were professional and courteous. Shevy walked me through the application process and answered all of my questions and made the application process very easy. Thank you Shevy for helping my sister get her first apartment!
We live here from 2015 to 2017 and the first year was fine until Tarantino bought it. Then nothing got fixed. We went all summer with no a/c so they gave us a window unit and it tripled our electric bill and they refused to pay the difference and also kept saying we were on a list for a new a/c we didn’t get a new a/c for 7 MONTHS!!!!! And then we were told they didn’t have to enter the apartment to replace it and they ended up replacing it and going inside without telling us, left a hole in the ceiling and it had exposed wires. That’s when I informed them of the black stuff growing that was exposed by the hole in the ceiling, they said it was nothing, a couple months later the black stuff is all over the bathroom, turns out it was black mold, their fix was to spray chemicals and wipe it while myself and newborn were still in the apartment, it came right back. The apartment also has a roach problem. Our tub also started to fall in which they thought by caucking the crack it would fix the problem it didn’t! It took us to move out for them to finally replace the tub! Be very careful before moving here! It might be cheap but you are putting your health at risk! They don’t care about the safety and health of their tenants!
Do not rent from Town Center Apartments. You are better off literally anywhere else. They are constantly changing management companies, and the staff you meet when you move in likely will not be the same staff you are confronted with when you move out. After spending a year and a half in these apartments, not once was an exterminator in the apartment, despite their community calendar claiming multiple visits each month. When moving in they will request that you sign the move in/move out inspection paperwork under the move out section. They didnt even let me see the apartment that I was moving into until after I had signed all of their paperwork, nor was I even involved in their move in inspection. The fridge that was in the apartment when we moved in had to be replaced because it was so old that they couldnt find parts to replace what was missing. The fridge that they replaced it leaked water and some nasty brownish fluid on the floor for roughly eight months before they finally replaced it, despite being notified of this issue at least four different times. In December one of the knobs on my kitchen sink literally split in half, and it took them three months to come and replace it. I couldnt use hot water or do dishes for three months! While several maintenance requests were put in to notify the office staff of the peeling paint and caulk in the bathtub. After three requests over a six month period, I went into the office to speak with the staff directly. I was informed that they would send someone out to look at it, and it would take three days of not using my shower or bath for the repairs to take place. Three days with a three year old little girl not being able to bathe. In any event, I moved out and this issue still had not been repaired. Mind you, the peeling started in the tub after the first two months. On top of all of this, for an eight month period during my lease, there was some sort of pipe problem under the apartments that left a fowl odor throughout the entire apartment. Every time the toilet was flushed not only did I have to smell the stench of fecies, but my poor neighbor and her children did as well. Maintenance was informed not only by myself, but also by my neighbor of this problem on multiple occasions, and yet it still took them months to do anything about it. The paint chipped and peeled away from the walls, which is always reassuring when you know youve signed a lead based paint document when you signed your lease. One of my front windows was broken when I moved in. I found out a year later that I could apply light pressure to the window in my kitchen and it would pop right out. When we received heavy rain I would have to put multiple towels around the bottom of my back door due to the fact that the water would flood my kitchen. The cabinets under the sink smelled like rotten eggs after a month of living there despite being completely empty. I also discovered after my neighbors moved in that the walls are incredibly thin, so whenever my neighbor would yell at her kids or her kids would stomp around, my daughter could hear them while trying to sleep. If I left her bedroom door open, I would be able to hear the yelling or stomping from in my living room. If you end up with two neighbors with children. I spent several months of my stay in town center apartments leaving my house at 6 am and returning at 8 or 9 pm to avoid listening to all the stomping and shouting and general noise coming from my neighbors on either side, because there wasnt a place in my apartment that I could escape the noise. Then when I did finally move out, they told me that they would do my move out inspection within two weeks after I left! They didnt let me schedule to be a part of it. Then less than a month later I received a collection notice for absolutely bogus charges with no notice from them of the charges, despite the fact that when I turned in my keys they said I did not owe them anything. When confronted each person I spoke with gave a different reason for the charges. Avoid these con artists.
The apartment itself isnt horrible other than the fact that you can tell its old and that my paint is falling off everywhere in the house almong with half of my plugs not working and my lights constantly flickering. The problem is the women in the office who literally do not care about you at all other than getting money from you. You can put in 15 complaints about crappy neighbors or even a simple maintenance issue and nothing will ever get done or fixed, ever.... Do not move here. Do not let the cheap price fool you like it fooled me I was only supposed to be here a few months while we waited to get out of the marine corps but plans changed and now were stuck unless we break our lease even though we have neighbors writing threatening things on our apartment.
STOP BEFORE YOU MAKE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE. I wont repeat all the reasons why, just read all the reviews, all the 1 star reviews tell the story. I would rather live in a tent than live here.
Some apartments are very clean. The conditions of the apartments depends on who lives in them.
Youll get what you pay for. So be prepared to do your own roach defense(took roach motels then the glue feed, and then finally we resorted to not only spraying our own place with home defense but also our neighbors), appliances that are painted over rather than maintenanced,(our AC unit broke immediately), and just general malfunctioning (our tub faucet just snapped off). This is all within two months of moving in.Otherwise... if youre used to living with roaches and things not working properly, this is the place for you.
Professional staff! Great overall experience.
Do NOT live in these apartments. If I could give them negative stars you better believe I would. When me and my husband moved in it seemed like a decent place to live (for the pricing). After about two months in to our contract things went terribly south. Bugs, walls falling apart, leaking roof, front and back doors would not open (even for my husband who is rather strong), broken ac for MONTHS, and much more. No matter how many times I spoke with management absolutely nothing was done, none of my complaints were recorded and I was insulted multiple times by the manager herself. As soon as we were able to move out we were gone and had everything paid and were just done. Now several months after we have left and no contact of any kind on their part we are being charged thousands for who knows what and I have not been able to find any way to even contact these people. Do yourself a huge favor and save yourself some stress, dont live here.
Worst experience! These people are great until you move in and need something done! They put you in a run around trying to blame others for why work orders are not done. I turned in money for a washer and dryer that I was told would be delivered within a day, a week later Im still waiting and everytime I call Im told it will be the next day for sure and given some type of excuse. Dont waste your time with these apartments
DO. NOT. MOVE. HERE. Just dont. We have been without central AC for 5 months and they have not done a thing. We have had to buy our own window units. The ceiling has been fell in for about a month now and all theyve done is swept some insulation off the floor! We have little roaches everywhere and there is a fly infestation outside. This place is disgusting. And now were trying to move and they literally want us to pay a thousand dollars.
Roach infested, mold infested, holes in the cracks in the floor, unwilling to fix problems. When I moved out, they sent me to a debt collector for $300 for PAINT! Really??? They didnt even tell me about the paint fee before hurting my credit by sending my name to a debt collector. DO NOT LIVE HERE!
After 4 years being an ideal tenet - clean, quiet, excellent payment history, always professional & rarely complaining - my *exceedingly few* requests (reduced to repeated pleas) for their attention to chronic decay, damage, and outright hazardous conditions have been ignored (no attempt to make good on their promises), put off for an unreasonable time (the original stove was going to burn the place down; it took over a year of repeated requests before it was finally replaced), or such a desperately HORRIBLE fix is carried out that Ive nearly wept...and every year my rent is increased! I HAVE plenty of photos to post here of these conditions, and definitely will if my one last effort to be taken seriously is disregarded. My current lease expires 7/31/2018. Its up to Town Center whether or not I renew for a 5th year. My living conditions, through no fault of mine, have become close to intolerable.Update:3/29/2019:Early June 2018 (2 months remaining on my 4th lease), I went again to the management armed with yet more photo evidence of my (ignored) apartment decay and an assertion that I would not be renewing my lease under current circumstances. It took 2 weeks, but based solely on the photos (no one actually came and looked at the apartment), Town Center offered me a Maintenance Transfer -- admitting the apartment was irreparable while inhabited.Ill also add that I was informed by someone in the office that pulled up my tenant history on the computer that numerous maintenance requests Id made had resulted in not only no attention, but had been deliberately discarded...round filed.Tarantino (current owners of Town Center, and based out of Houston, Texas) made my transfer ridiculously difficult, but my current apartment is more satisfactory overall. However, within 60 days of moving in, the place just started falling apart --- exactly like my previous apartment, only faster. They still ignore maintenance requests and it takes an act of God to contact the office. When maintenance IS informed and come to help, they are pretty fantastic. Just undermanned and in no way responsible for derelictions of duty. They are simply uninformed. And they are obviously not given the tools, funding, and go ahead to do repairs that will endure.
I have lived here for 6 yrs and they have never had a problem with me paying my rent so you would think i would be a valued resident right? Im 64 yrs old, disabled with health problems and i called them about my air being broken which i thought was an emergency but they told me that they have 72 hrs to respond and that there are some people that has been waiting two weeks to get their air fixed . Oh yea they said it has to be above 85 outside to be an emergency. Eventhough its that inside they dont care so Ive been barely sleeping because its too hot. I cant cook because it makes the apt.too hot. I cant afford to just move anywhere or i would have been long gone.Im on the waiting list for an affordable apt. These people only concern is collecting money. They got the insurance frm the storm and still have not fixed a damn thing. My roof and many others have still not been fixed. This place has become a nightmare for me. Its so hard to get anything done but the rent continue to increase every year. They also have a problem keeping maintenance people to do the work.
This place is terrible and honestly isn’t even worth 550$ a month for a two bedroom apartment. It should be 250$ a month atleast. These apartments need to be torn down and should be investigated by the city. If you get a washer and dryer they will charge you an additional 35 dollars and when you get the washer and dryer they smell like moldy cheese and have dead roaches inside them. The maintenance are under staff. Work orders are never done. I went two months with a broken AC with a three year old daughter and had to fix the AC myself. There is water flooded underneath all of the houses and mesquites along with roaches infest your home. You have to “request” to be put on a list for your home to get sprayed however that does nothing these people lack communication in their office as professionals, so even if you did request to get your home sprayed it’s not passed to the pest control so they don’t come to your home. The place has fleas in the yards that will jump on your children because of all the stray cats that are a nuisance in the area. This place is over ran by cats, and neighbors that will steal anything you own including a flower pot that’s not worth 50 cents from the family dollar. The staff is a joke, they know how poor the conditions are that people are living in and do nothing about it but get out the contract to take your money on fixing an apartment that should be tore down by the city. The property manager is rude. The assistant manager cares but she isn’t really working with much control to help you. I think this place should undergo an investigation. The cabinets are infested with tiny roaches that only come out when you turn off the lights. The parking lots are tore up and felt with trash. There are molesters within the area and plenty of children I’ve seen in attended or supervised by their parents. The police never leave this area and dominos won’t even deliver food after dark because of the crime rate. This place may seem cheap and worth saving money but it’s not worth putting your self in danger and living in poor, unsanitary conditions. Whatever you do..... DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
I moved into my new apartment a year ago after living in my old apartment for seven years and it was rendered inhabitable according to the building inspectors. Now that whole unit on North Drive is vacant and has not been rented since I left because of the two feet of water underneath the crawl space, the cracked ceilings, bugs, (I could actually hear chewing sounds from inside the walls) and crooked floors. My son suffered from asthma while we were there and I had to call the police on numerous occasions due to riff raff, drug dealers, pervs, pedophiles, neighbors fighting violently and throwing furniture around, etc. Unbelievable living conditions considering my children were going to such a wonderful elementary school right across the street. There was even an incident where our cat got mauled by two pit bulls while sitting on our porch because the dog owners didnt care to put them on a leash. I do think this was intentional because I know about dog fighting and how they like to get dogs hyper before the kill. Anyway, that was reported later on channel twelve news. The reason I give my NEW apartment 2 stars is because I am having similar problems like another person mentioned that their paint/caulking is peeling off, etc. Who paints a bathtub? Well, the paint is peeling off there. The caulking keeps coming off around the tub. The window is too big (I dont have one of those tiny windows) in my bathroom. There is always mold on the window sill and I have to keep bleaching that. There is mold behind the toilet tank because of condensation and its too tight around the wall for me to stick my hand back there and wash. My bathroom floor slants and my bathtub creaks when I step on it. I am not a heavy set woman neither. I keep getting these clicking, brown beetles at night, flying around my living room and have come through two small holes in my floor. The kitchen sink cabinet always smells like mold underneath. The kitchen sink is rusted and pieces of rust fall on my pots and pans but they wont replace it. Theres always a bad smell under my crawl space. Theres a busted, giant gumball tree branch in my front yard that I have complained about for a month and finally removed it. Next door to me is vacant and the back door is boarded up and behind that the back door is open ajar. So bugs can crawl in there and the moisture can seep in when it rains. One of my neighbors has a washing machine on his back porch thats broken and been sitting there for three months. The place is run down and it looks like a slum. It is a health hazard as well as a broken window project that seriously needs taken care of. Changing property managers isnt cutting it and my rent money should not be going to just lawn service I dont live outside and that looks much better then the inside of some of these places.
Chelsey and kaylee are the best there they are the nicest and help you out the most. Chelsey was willing to do whatever was needed when I called for help.
They suck. The ladies there will be nice to your face and lie to you. I have been lied to by them so many times. I tried to get a job with them Im very happy. Didnt because quite honestly I dont want to work for a place that manipulates lies and is honestly falling apart. I have lived in their apartments when I got my apartment it was trashed. They knew ahead of time I needed an apartment. It was trashed when I got it. When we left it I left it in a decent amount of shape. I WAS BILLED 331$$ for them to change a carpet that was BARELY lived on. Mind you I lived therefor 3 months maybe 4 tops.I was charged for giving them the keys IN THE MIDDLE OF MY 30 day move out time frame.I was charged for fresh paint when we never smoked in the house.I called about it and was told that to forget the fees they wont be billed and everything was fine..Two months later I AM BILLED FROM A COLLECTION AGENCY. ARE FREAKING KIDDING ME TOWN CENTER.My friends roof was falling apart when I lived there. The only positive side was that my dog wasnt judged for his breed. THATS IT. And you know why he wasnt judged? Because The people who own TOWN CENTER are broke af and need an income to stay afloat. These homes suck, they take to long to cut the grass, if your air conditioners out your basically screwed. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.
Fricking discusting. Id say worth 200 a month. Im telling yall dont rent here or you will regret it. Also the price they charge is the same a a nice little 2 or 3 bedroom home you can find for 600 a month. After the first year rwnt goes up even when everything is falling apart. Cant get rid of bugs. Its just horrible...dont screw yourselvea
Apartment falling apart. Holes in the wall that let you see into the connecting apartments. Trash leftover from prior owners. Squatters next door. Water heater burst. A/C unit broke, break in attempts, and to top it all off the amount of insects. Horrible.
DO NOT MOVE HERE! I REPEAT, DO NOT MOVE HERE. If you love yourself you’d do yourself the favor. These apartments are INFESTED with roaches/waterbugs. In the heat they will crawl out from EVERY WHERE & infest your home. If the people who own the apartments put more time in FIXING THE INFESTATION instead of asking for money & checking their beat down washers these apartments would be a solid 3 stars. The Terminix guy that comes and sprays the house does not spray the house thoroughly, if anything it just makes the bugs come out MORE. This is definitely a health hazard because all the fumes you’re inhaling having to take matter into your own hand! Plus, not knowing what these bugs track on your house hold appliances. It’s disgusting! Weve spend so much money staying at hotels which is sad because we pay our rent on time to at least have our issue taken care of.... What they NEED to do is have a TERMINATOR come and INSPECT UNDER THE HOUSES to terminate the SOURCE of the infestation.... What they need to do is REMODEL, literally we got left with old ass cabinets and a RUSTY fridge I’m guessing from the last tenant....... these ppl GET over 500 in rent from EACH TENANT SO I KNOW THEY HAVE THE FUNDS TO MAKE THESE PLACES LIVEABLE. It’s tragic honestly.... If anything happens to my family I will be sueing this place for every penny because honestly it’s THEIR job to take care of the property!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been here a short while. I have been told i have one of the nicest apt in town center being they are under construction. Only waitingon my washer and dryer that was suppose to in unit before i got there. Tiffany is the only person i call she is very helpful4-17-17 worst place ever.. They charged me 100+ over fair market value.. They never repaired anything. Half of the complex is condemned.. STAY AWAY FIR YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY. NOT SAFE FOR KIDS.. LOT OF VIOLENCE AND THEFTS..
Terrible. We have a leak in our roof above the kitchen and bathroom, and the only thing that was done about it was a tarp thrown on the roof. We were told the problem would be fixed within a week and its been 3 months and nothings been done. Parts of the batbroom ceiling are statting to fall and there is black mold ALL OVER THE CEILING. My husband and I have a 2 year old and Im 20 weeks pregnant, so this is definitely not okay. Oh, and our ant problem that I cannot get rid of that has been here since we moved in. That was complained about as well and all the lady told me was to put salt on the counter and that it would keep them away. Um, no thanks, cause thats gross. And theyre in more than just the kitchen Ive woken up and had ants crawling on me in my bed. No amount of cleaning or bug killer works. They WONT go away and the management WONT do a damn thing about ANYTHING. This place sucks and I wouldnt even recommend it to a homeless person. Id rather live outside than live here. I rate it ZERO stars. I only put a 1 start cause I couldnt post it without doing so.
I have been in this complex since Nov. 2015 I have seen tons of bugs of all kinds. Was told an exterminator comes through on Tuesdays. I have yet to see one with several calls to the office. I took the matter into my own hands to take care of all the creepy bugs myself. The heating/cooling system was very old and costly to run all winter. conveniently it stopped working right at the beginning of summer. Guess what numerous phone calls to the office with 90+ degree days every day still nothing. Sorry, thank you for your patience. Well my patience have run out and I would move out however I am not paying you for two months rent just to move out early. Also all PETS MUST BE LEASHED. My pet is leashed and stays in our own yard. She is never out there alone. However other inconsiderate people let their dogs howl and wimper all day and/or let them run around with no leash or owner anywhere in sight. The complex is now under new owners, however the management and maintenance team remain. I understand it is not there fault a lot of places need work, However they handle all request lousy. Nothing seems to get done except a bunch of false promises, and misleading their ontime paying tenants!
Would not recommend you stay here. Me and my husband are just waiting to move somewhere else.
We were promised our washer and dryer would be here within the first month of us living here. Its been over three months and still no washer and dryer that was promised to us and no one will tell us when theyll be here or where they currently are. They also refused to compensate us for not yet receiving them and having to go to the coin laundry every week since weve moved here. The women my husband spoke to in the office were very rude to him and when he asked to speak to someone hire up they gave him a lot of attitude and told him he would get a call from someone. We have yet to receive a phone call and that was a month ago. Not happy.
Stayed here for 1 year because of our lease.. Would have moved otherwise. Looks halfway decent from the outside.. Inside the floors are wood, but they just look super old, theyre peeling and just look horrible.. The worse was probably the bathroom & kitchen. Bath had pink mold, and some other weird dark mold that would no go away. Bleach, mold spray.. nothing worked.. keeping the area dry with the air conditioning did not help either.. Lots of bugs, if your neighbor had roaches, you did too... We even had maintenance come in & fix our kitchen sink & closet door that would not slide shut.. they didnt even fix that.. Counter tops are a cheap plastic with fake granite print, kitchen floor was a white platic, imitation tile... which looked dirty all the time no matter how much you cleaned it.. & there was little counter top space for basic household appliances..Living Room/Dining: Both in one room.... -_- Enough said.. Oh and there is one green wall? idk who came up with this color... just ridiculous to paint one wall lime green in the living room.... -_-BedRooms: Walls are super thin.. We had the most annoying neighbors, who were loud & annoying. They constantly had people over and stayed out front by their door and their porch light was on late at night, shining into our bedroom window. Curtains provided barley blocked out any light..Back yard area: No fence, just open area where all neighbors can see you if you go outside..Only think I liked about this place was the price.. You get what you paid for..Wouldnt recommend these apartments to anyone who likes privacy or a quite home..
The paint on my bathroom walls fell off revealing mold and green paint which is lead based paint. A huge hole developed in the floor of the bathroom. It was bigger than a soccer ball. It took two months to get those things fixed. I had to call a zoning or code officer to come to my house before Town Center even sent someone to look at it. Many different strangers came in and out of my house while I was and was not home. There were many times when they came in just to look and never came back. There was no communication between the workers and myself and between the apartment complex and the workers. The paint on my ceiling in one part started to crack and show orange spots. All they did was come in and patched it. They still have not painted over it yet. I called three weeks in a row a few weeks ago to have an exterminator come out to fix our water bug/roach problem and it never happened. I stayed up all day to answer the door when the exterminator came and they never did. Now my front window in my living room has fallen through so that cold air can come into my house and hot air that I pay for can go out. I am a very unhappy person and this is not right.
I dont live here, but Ive tried multiple times to get information and set up appointments. The office is not very organized, two times Ive visited with set appointments to be told Im not on the schedule. There a first come first serve place, but Ive never gotten through to actually see a layout of a unit. Sad because Im really interested, but its a hassel.
Those Roaches will run you out of there. Its like Joes Apartment.
Absolutely horrible place. There is roaches everywhere, they don’t fix anything ! After the hurricane my mother in laws roof caved in months later nothing’s fixed. They’re evicting everyone that has hurricane damage. It’s really sad and pathetic.
Horrible customer service, my a.c. has been leaking freon and instead of fixing the problem they just keep filling it back up and letting it leak out which is an environmental issue not to mention that when it does start running low my a.c. system try to run harder causing my electric bill to go through the roof. This is my second year leasing with them and it will definitely be the last. Especially when they state that they cant do anything about it. Complete non-sense.
I have lived in a fair share amount of apaprtment homes until I found my house. This by far is the worst place I have ever rented from and will NEVER recommend to anyone I care about to rent from. Where do I start?? 1st there is a mold problem in the bathroom and kitchen. I called on several occasions and spoke with several staff from the office and they all say they put in maintenance request but nothing has been done. Today is July17th 2016. I moved in Feb 26th 2016 and the mold issue arose about a month after I moved in. I Thank god I only signed up for a short term lease of 6 months. 2nd when I moved in I was told that I came at a good time because washer and dryers were being bought and installed in all the apartment home. I did not receive my set until april 2016. Again I had to put in numereous calls to inquire on the status of the washer and dryer. 3rd on april 26th 2016 while the lawn was being mowed by the landscapers a rock may have cascaded and hit my side window which caused it to break. Again it is July17th 2016 and the window is still not fixed. I have went into the office more than 3/4 times to inquire when the window would get fixed. I have called and spoke with the property manager Sue and yet and still NOTHING has been one to fix the window. The only good thing in this apartment home is the leasing agent Megan. She was always polite when I spoke with her even with all the crappy circumstances of this place. I called also to speak with Sue to inquire because of all these issues that have been going on with the place and living environment to see if we would be able to get out of the lease a month early and she had the nerve to take it as the 60 day lease term and I am now resonsible to pay 2 weeks past my original lease ending date of Aug 26h 2016. On the bright side the rent is ridiculously cheap (in comparison to places I have rented from before).THIS PLACE IS THE WORST DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!!!
Worst place you could possibly live in this town. Its in the middle of the ghetto. Really no joke had people try and break in my apartment multiple times, have had the police knock on my door telling me to stay inside because of a active shooter. The management staff is a joke and lazy. We wanted to switch from a one bedroom to a two bedroom after six months like our lease stated we could. One manager told us we couldnt, it wasnt allowed. It wasnt until I got the GM and my lease out dId her attitude change. I was unknowingly over paying for rent for 8 months and no one said anything to me. When we finally moved out they owed us $800 in back rent and deposits. We did a walk threw they said everything was fine. I then got a check for $120 and a letter with a bunch of BS charges. When I called to talk to someone about it the missplaced our move out inspection paper. So many things went wro g while living there. Things breaking and not being properly fixed. They are scammers. Dont rent from here!
You get what you pay for. I used to complain about paying 850$ at another newly built apartment complex but now i wish i could spend the little extra money and go back. But if you must live here, these are my tips:Maintenance takes a very long time to get done depending on the severity of what needs to be fixed. So you have to call and remind them A LOT.Water bugs and roaches are a issue, I advise getting a cat for the problem or just common house hold bug killers.Do not stay here long. Water damage is severe here and mold is very bad! This is not long term living conditions. It can become a health issue very fast.
The apartments are ok for a young couple like us this is basically all we need. The office staff is hit or miss depending on who you talk to so I give them a 1 star. However the maintaince coordinator Trishe, who I believe was sent from heaven, is absolutely AMAZING. For so long our maintaince requests went ignored until a new leasing company took over and I got in touch with Trishe. Id been asking for over 2 years for them to come fix my caving in floor and Trishe had it done the day after I got in contact with her. The maintaince team is wonderful as well they were quick, they did a wonderful job they even installed splash guards in my tub. Doyle the head guy noticed our toilet seat was kind of busted and he brought us new one of those too. I called about my refrigerator going out last week they brought a brand new one the next day. There are many issues with this apartment complex but where they excell is their maintaince crew. I give them 5 stars for totally exceeding my expectations and making my life a lot better!
I absolutely hate this f***ing place the front office does not give a s**t about the renters and all the money that is paid to cover for Damages isnt even for that. Maintenance take forever to get to your place to do repairs, and when they do they do it half ass. ALMOST ALL OF THE APARTMENTS ARE INVESTED WITH WATERBUGS AND ROACHES. ITS SO BAD THAT YOU NEED TO STOCK UP ON RAID LIKE YOU ARE GOING TO WAR. There is one maintenance worker by the name of Dave who deserves a vacation (a really long one, paid too) because he is the only one who actually cares and will do everything he can to fix things. I have been stuck here for a year and a half because I dont make a lot of money and its what my fiancee and I are stuck with. They will also give you the dumbest reasons to evict you, and if you dont make a lot of money, it forces you to pay for s**t that your rent should already cover. These places need to stop being bought by other companies and just be f***ing torn down, because they are not worth JACK S**T. I am currently paying $420 for a place that is a MOTHER F***ING HEALTH HAZARD!!!! Also its really sketchy to me that you cannot pay in cash what-so-ever. The neighborhood is actually not bad, so long as you have your street smarts about you and you know where to avoid. Other than that, Town Center Apartments can go into the 7th Realm of Hell and the staff (minus one of course) can all be impaled by Satans F***ING pitchfork. F**K THIS PLACE.ALMOST ALL OF THE APARTMENTS ARE INVESTED WITH WATERBUGS AND ROACHES. ITS SO BAD THAT YOU NEED TO STOCK UP ON RAID LIKE YOU ARE GOING TO WAR.
If I could turn back I would NEVER get a place out here they want they rent but don’t want to fix nothingBathroom been backed up still nobody seems to care but they want they rent IF YOU CAN FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GO GO MAKE THIS PLACE YOUR LAST LAST CHOSE
Our floors our rotten, the bathroom toilet could fall through at any moment. There is black mold in the shower area and the floor boards under the tiles in the kitchen(the pulled up part of it to try to prove i was wrong it was rotten. They refuse to let us out of our lease or move us. The floor boards crumbled in their hands when they pulled them up. Still they refuse to move us. I would NEVER rent from here again. We have been complaining about the rotten floor for over a 11 months and nothing has been fixed.
Called twice 1st time no answer 2nd time someone answered and and they would have to call Me back in a few minutes.. I have not received a call back and they are now closed
Love it here been here over a year
I found this place online when I was moving from Cali, seemed like a great place and upon moving in it seemed awesome! One week in my ac unit broke took them 4 days to fix it (not an emergency) but when my apartment was hitting 92 degrees it was a bit ridiculous. 2 weeks in I had a person standing in my back yard staring into my apartment only to discover that the units next to mine are completely destroyed on the inside with no doors so really any one can get in, I called the cops and they recommended to get the heck out of this place. The week after that my water heater blew in my kitchen, took them 3 days to fix that. And theres constant noises from the abandoned buildings attached to mine that Im constantly calling the cops to check it out, and they want $1657 to buy out of my lease they are horrible and they dont care about safety and if you hammer anything in the walls cover the holes because you can see right through the holes into the next unitOh and bugs crawl in through your drainsAvoid this place at all cost! Its not worth saving a couple hundred just pay more for a better living environment! The door isnt sealed correctly in my kitchen so bugs and cold air constantly come in and my heater sounds like its going to explode. Its a horrible place so not move here
Only because I cant give it a 0!! We lived here awhile ago but want tobwarn everyone of what an awful place this is! Its disgusting.
Do not rent from this complex. I moved out almost 4 months ago and after countless calls to the office, and to management I have not recieved my 300 plus dollar deposit.
These worthless employees try to reclaim possession of a unit of a deceased person before the court even allows an estate administrator to be appointed. Dont expect them to follow any other laws either. And courtesies? Forget it.
Been without A.C for 5 days now and they r not doing anything about it because the company who they had put it in has to fix it smhThe worst place I have ever lived in i cannot wait move.
Horrible services
