I’ve had tires mounted here and most recently called to inquire about head gasket replacements. Adam was very pleasant to talk to and very informative.
If I could give negative points I would. Unresponsive, no parts in stock cant repair your car in a reliable time. Avoid at all costs
Despite their mask policy many employees are not wearing masks including I believe the one who drove my car out of the garage which feels like a violation of my personal space. This is unsafe, irresponsible, and disrespectful. Theyre not following their own guidelines nor the local ordinance which makes it hard for me to believe that they will follow other best practices with the cars
Had to make an emergency stop en route to Michigan because of a loud noise. They took me in right away and diagnosed my issue. It was nothing to be concerned of. They got me all set and I was on my way home. The best part, they didn’t charge me anything. Great service and courteous staff. Thank you!
Needed help replacing my rear turn signal bulbs and have had trouble finding anyone to help me. Called the Lafayette Rd Pep Boys yesterday and they were so helpful and said they would take care of it if I came on Sunday mid afternoon. I did that and Chevez immediately offered to help and showed me how to access the bulbs in my VW next time. Chevez was incredibly helpful, and made me feel like a valued customer even though he didn’t even charge me for this service. He listened to all my concerns and took care of the issue in just a few minutes, always treating me with respect. He has excellent customer service skills and Pep Boys is fortunate to have him on their team! Thank you, Chevez!!!! I’ll be back the next time I need help with any vehicle issue.
Polite service, tho a little high priced. I got a new tire and battery. It had turned out that they didnt actually have the tire i had purchased in stock so they upgraded to the next best option free of charge instead of ripping me off with a cheaper one.
They said my appointment was not in their computer and i had the appointment confirmation on my phone. This was after i stood there for 5 min or better before they acknowledged me. I do not recommend

I had a great experience. Picked out tires and set appointment online night before, done in a little over an hour. Noticed some rude, microaggressive behavior from service rep toward customers that spoke less than great English - staff could use training in bias. Also lots of no or improper mask wearing, despite there still being a mandate in our county.

Horrible experience!! My husband went in today for a tire repair, yes we had appointment. He waited 10min before someone spoke to him when he came in. Once they realized it was not a great idea to fix the tire and he needed a new one they started on that. This is all for one tire, my husband waited three hours!!! Three hours with appointment to get one tire!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me. We will not be back.
Got in and out quickly for oil change and tire rotation. Had to return to add air to one tire (low air pressure light stayed on). This was fixed quickly and I was on my way. Friendly service!

Pep Boys in Indianapolis off of I65 was some of the best service ever. The lady at the front desk was so kind and efficient and they were help us and get us back on the road in under an hour. Amazing! When you have an auto emergency and still have a long drive a head of you nothing is better than fast and friendly service. Highly recommend this Pep Boys.
Although the service writers are never around, I will continue to come here for the mechanic Chevez. Even though he don’t work the front desk he came and helped me after a great greeting with a gorgeous smile and apologized for the wait he got my car in right away and told me that I just needed a battery and not a alternator which saved me so much money.
Ordered a lawn tractor tire on line and was to arrive at their Lafayette Road store. Received an email onconfirmation that it was to arrive to the store two days later and would receive an email notice it arrived. Five days later, nothing! In addition, I called the store numerous time and could not talk to anybody. Called Big-O-Tire, they ordered it, I dropped the wheel off and in less than 24 hours I had my new tire mounted from when I first called them!
Really liked the guys that work here very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient as I switch it up on them more than once. They were honest and didnt try any add ons. Need work come here
I am trying to schedule the lifetime wheel alignment online where it says ($30 off with coupon) but I do not see coupon anywhere on the site. I even tried to schedule an appointment online in anticipation that the coupon might be available after scheduling the service. But no luck. Called the store but no luck as well.

Just purchased a battery. Battery was priced right well under competition. However the installation price for the battery was as much as the battery itself. So we installed it ourselves in the parking lot.

I get there at 11:15 for 3 new tires. They tell me it would be 1 hour to hour and a half, and that my car is next. I get picked up go to two surrounding stores to shop and out to eat. They call me while out to eat and say I need an oil change as well, I say ok go ahead and add that on. I return at 1:10 and see that my vehicle has not even been moved. My tires were still turned outward as I left them. I ask the attendant what happened to my car not being ready. He says it would be another 2 hours. I asked for my keys back and said this is how you treat your female customers. You tell me I need an oil changed and you havent even checked my vehicle and you take 4 other people ahead of me. I will not be returning
We stopped here to ask a favor, would they put air in a low tire. They checked and filled all our tires for free and were very kind and helpful. I dont know if all locations would do this but if you need anything I would highly recommend this location. If I need anything and I am close I will definitely come here.
Sitting here at 6:45 and was told they close at 7pm when he knew we were on the way and dont live here with two kids. Thanks for the overnight in Indianapolis sir.
Shannon is so very helpful and have great customer service.I went in for a test and oil change, they ended up locking my keys in the car but took the time to get it unlocked and gave me a discount for the inconvenience.
The people in the front desk is not very helpful but every time I go in I ask for Chevez. He is always honest and if I get confused on what he is saying he will take me to my car n show me what the problem is.
They did a great job on my oil change. It was even cheaper.

Purchased a 48 month Champion AGM Battery with a 25% coupon. Saved over $48.00 along with FREE installation. I had a 1 pm appointment which they honored and I was out in an hour. Service Manager Shannon R was great with getting the job done. Very pleased with their price and effort.
The staff was very nice. I brought my car in to have the tire plugged, I was told that they wouldnt be able to repair the tire so I asked about replacing the tire. Due to their tire machine breaking they were unable to replace it even.
I just called to see if they could change my brake pads front and back and he said yes and told me it would be $922 for just labor. Pep boys need to change slogan cause it’s a lie. I know damn well it’s not hard to change brake pads and you want to charge $922 that’s robbery.
Love this place. My first experiences with a Pep Boys store as we do not have them where I usually reside. Unfortunately, I do not have the money to buy all of the items I would love to purchase, however they do have a 25% promotion going on throughout 2020, so the opportunity to obtain more pricy items can be obtained.

I love this place!! They actually want to help people...there is no attitude...or superiority complex like the usual places. They listened to my concerns...they helped me...and it is obvious that they really care about people and are there to help. I was treated with complete respect in my frantic mess...and they fixed it. One guy in the waiting room even said its the only place he will take his car. Give these people a raise. You need to reward people like this to stay in business. They are deserving...honestly. I don’t like giving bad reviews but my experience was unbelievably horrendous! I needed a simple auto repair and after several people gave me several different stories, the asst mgr called and said the store was unorganized in their procedures, and it didn’t give me a good feeling at all when your own employees bad mouth the service and service skill level . BUYER BEWARE!! The Indianapolis Lafayette Road store is horrible; PLEASE save yourself stress & headaches and DO NOT waste your time. You’ll pay big time in the long run! And I have NO interest in your fake response to this review pretending to care. I will NEVER return and will warn as many people as possible to find a place with better mechanical knowledge & customer service!
Incredible variety of parts and tools, relatively good prices one of the longest warranties, just watch for promotions and sign up for email so you will be aware of good deals. You can buy things online, either pay on your computer or at the store. I havent been in their service side so dont have any experience about that. Good employees and managers

I have really had to shop around for a good deal on a full synthetic oil change (Mobil 1). I usually buy the oil and filter online, but this time the sale price was just as good at pep boys. They helped me shop the right oil and filter, and then took me to service. The wait was kind of long (1 hour), but I got out of there with a Mobil 1 oil change for $77. Not bad. Friendly, helpful staff. This is my spot for a premium oil change.

Went in for an oil change and they told me I needed $600 worth of brake work. Went to Midas downtown, paid for an inspection, and had my brakes checked out - absolutely no problems found/no work recommended. I’ve always trusted Pep Boys in the past, but no more.
They were awesome. Excellent customer service. Had everything i was looking for. With veteran discount. This place is 5 stars.
Good morning I arrived early at the pep boys on Lafayette road thats not the issue when the time came to open the person that open the pep boys had no skills of putting air in the tire so I waited for the mechanics to come in but I mechanic came in and I asked him if he could put air in my tire which only took what less than 2 minutes and he told me how it would be two minutes and I didnt get back there until 7:50 or so and I was there since 7:20 so not good service the gentleman who did help me was very nice but for someone to tell you so itll be a couple of minutes and then leave you out there and dont come back and say anything no not good customer service at all
Came home like month after oil change, oil was gone. Car stopped in middle of road. I replaced oil and I hv no leak! They didnt change it, wow.

Like everything else on Lafayette Road, this place is just plain horrible. Avoid at all costs.Appointment scheduled a week in advance at 9:30. Arrived at 9:25am. Stood in line until 9:40am. At 11:05am was told they didn’t know the car was here, even though I saw a tech getting the mileage at 9:41am after I dropped off keys. Poor communication, mismanaged staff, below average location, zero convenience.
Called this place and they answered the phone and didn’t say anything, but I could hear them in the background. Then I called back and they would NOT answer. They don’t deserve business.
The staff are friendly and personable but the place is slow. I needed my two front tires changed. Called ahead to make sure they had time and the right tires for me today. Got here at 4:30. Ive now been here 2 hours and counting with no updates on progress. If they didnt have time for me, they should have told me that on the phone instead of telling me to go ahead and come in.
Bought 4 tires from Amazon. Had them shipped to store. Set up of appointment was simple. Gave them my Information and vehicle specifications. Show up to appointment and the technicians say my 1997 F350 dually flatbed is to heavy to put on their lifts. They also say they dont have a floor jack to lift up the truck to replace the tires........so I have to let them use my bottle jack to replace the tires. To me this is very unacceptable. You sell tires for my vehicle but you dont have the proper equipment to service it? I have never ran into this anywhere else. Hope you all read this and properly equip yourselves.
Made appointment for 10am for a simple oil change. When I got there and they said it would take over an hour because they were short staffed. This happened the last time I came for an oil change. They should have called before my appointment to let me know this. What was the point of even making the appointment? After an hour of waiting and them not even starting I took my keys and walked out. The only manager there was over another department and said that the service center wasn’t here area and there was nothing she could do. This place is such a waste of time.
My truck stopped across the street from Pep Boys and I called and asked if someone could come and see what was wrong with it. They sent 2 guys over to where my car stopped. They checked it and said that it sounded like my starter had went out. They told me if I could get it towed across the street over to them by 7:00 pm they could check it out. So I got it towed over to them by 7:00 pm and the guy said that he didnt know who had told me that because I would have to wait until the next day because no one there was capable of checking my truck out. So he gave me an estimate of how much it would cost if it was indeed my starter. He estimated about 250.00 to 300.00. So I left my truck there. The guy called me the next morning and said that it was not my starter that was the problem but it was my ignition lock and ignition switch that were the problems. He said that it would cost 550.00 dollars and that I could go online and get a coupon for 10% off. So I told him I would call him back. I called another mechanic and asked him how much would it be to fix the problems that Pep Boys said that I had. He called the auto parts store and got the pricing of the parts and added his labor price and it was only 250.00 total. So I called Pep Boys and let them know that I would not be able to get it done there and that I would have my truck towed somewhere else. So they charged me 48.00 for looking at my truck to see what was wrong (they told me it would only be 18.00 before this) and I had my truck towed somewhere else. Now the reason that Im giving this store a bad review is because when I took it to the other mechanic it ended up that my starter was really the problem. The bolts had come out of my starter and that was why it went out. So I ended up only paying for a new starter plus labor which amounted to 225.00. After they put the starter on my ignition started up just fine with no problems. I really think that Pep Boys was trying to get over on me and overcharge me because Im a woman and they probably figured I wouldnt know what to do. I had heard numerous bad reports about this Pep Boys overcharging people for work that they didnt need but I wanted to see for myself. Because of this I will not trust another Pep Boys because I dont know if they do the same kind of things at all of their shops.
Online order. Called me when it was ready. Quick and easy. Very friendly employees as well. Will use them again. Better price on mobil 75-w90 than Amazon by about 1/2!
I live two hours south. I woke up at our hotel with a low PSI. Tried two other places before finding Pep Boys. Chris there was amazing. My car was missing the wheel lock and they never gave up. I was facing finding a rental, hotel and missing work but three hours later I had a new tire because they didn’t give up. I am so grateful for the service I received today. They went beyond their jobs!!!

Couldnt get to my car until next week. Had to go someplace else, didnt feel safe to drive 5 or 6 days with the small spare on car.

They didnt have what i needed at the store but since I called before 10:45am the employee had 15 minutes to order my parts from the PepBoys warehouse and was able to get the parts I needed to me same day, when every where else had a 2 to 3 day waiting period before they could get what I needed. The only downfall is they were 30% more expensive than all the other auto parts stores. Thank you Sue!!! And a shout out to great service at PEPBOYS AUTO PARTS on Lafayette road.
Overall Ive found the staff at this location friendly and helpful although there has been some issues relating to loaning the wrong tool for the job I was doing (they did not carry the correct tool) and one isolated occasion of very poor service from, apparently, the head mechanic.Edit: More recently, however, I encountered the service department on a very bad day when they were completely slammed with service orders and angry customers and Jodi and the other employees earned a fifth star and a loyal customer for this store for the way they maintained their professionalism and continued to make me feel like a human being. Cant thank you guys enough for how well you handled it!
I was told to be at PB at 11:00 and my tires would be rotated (4th time I tried to get this done since Dec, 17). I was finally given my keys at 12:30. I have medical conditions that require my attention. My time is just as important as walk-ins. I can say that I was treated courteously, just not expediently.
Was left on hold for 17+ minutes after asking a simple stock question. Then a third guy got on the phone and asked if he could help me. After explaining what i needed for a third time, he puts me back on hold to go check. You have a computer in front of you and i know that can view inventory levels. Theyre either too stupid to search electronically or are just lazy. Horrible service. 0 stars if possible. I couldve drove myself there (probably walked even) in the time it took them to provide any service.

Just went in for new floor mats. They had a large selection to choose from and a good price range. I have no idea what most of the stuff was for, but it was very shiny. Sorry, not a car repair kind of person.
There is lot of scope to improve. Put a smile while receiving your customers. Learn to say sorry if there was a mistake on your side. I made a appointment over phone only to learn it never went in to their system when I showed up there. Even with my bad experience, I dont want to spoil the store reputation more. Management, please take action and do encourage the staff and make it a better place. All the best!!

Its not a bad auto superstore. The problem here is they dont have enough help for the amount of demand. Clearly the services guy, as nice as he could be, is super overwhelmed and frustrated by the demand.Prices are okay, nothing too crazy great. But the nice thing is there really isnt a lot they cant do, as far as taking in your car and getting things done, fixed, or installed.

I should’ve gone with my first mind and went to jiffy lube. I’m not even sure if they actually changed my oil. They left the old sticker on the window, didn’t reset the oil change reminder, didn’t vacuum, top off any fluids, and didn’t put down anything to ensure that anything that was hanging onto their boots didn’t transfer to the floor of my truck. I won’t even address their poor customer service. First and last for any service related issues
Its bad store, why? Because for oil Change first I had appointment 12 pm when I came to him he said 1:30pm, and second I had coupon for oil change 21,99$ when I show him he said 36,99, they lie, its very bad, dont go there you waste your time
I made an appointment to get an oil change to get the 30 min guaranteed service they offer, including their courtesy vehicle inspection. When I asked about the brakes, they said that it would take another two hours just to do a brake inspection!! That is absurd. I will not be going back. I have had much better service elsewhere. Just thought I would give someone else a shot. Never again.
I scheduled an appointment online and when I showed up they said that they couldnt do it because they didnt have enough people working and I could sit around for about 2 hrs and then they could get me in. But if I left that didnt guarantee my spot in line. Sound to me like you shouldt have online scheduling. and if I make an appointment then you should put me next in line and honor the appointment. I guess I will take my business elsewhere. Very disappointed!

I brought my car in with the problem of the engine stalling out randomly, signed off on an engine check. I get a call a day later saying the water pump and tensioner belt was bad and needed replaced, I then asked how that was causing my car to stall out and they responded with “oh. We didn’t check that” so they went back to checking on that. Call back the next day to find out they suggest the fuel pump needs replaced. Okedoke go ahead and do it. They did the work and I got the car 2 days later, BUT my check engine light is on, how do you do a comprehensive engine diagnostic (which I was billed for) and that light is on with no explanation as to why it’s on. But the car runs so I drive it home. As I’m driving the car is still doing it’s stall thing so I get to checking around, 1.) my fuel lines have not been tightened2.) I run a code check myself and find it’s the mass airflow sensor causing the light and subsequently the stalling. All that needed done was a thorough cleaning of the sensor, $4 fix. So In closing I spent a solid $800 on things that I believe either didn’t get done or didn’t need to be done and could’ve been avoided having been done if the engine diagnostic was done

Great service! Came here three weeks ago in desperate need of repairing my tire that was leaking. The man who was working on repairing my tire found a nail in one of my other tires as well. They took care of me right away and were super nice.

Scheduled an oil change online for yesterday and they told me they couldnt do it because they were too busy and to come back today. Drove up today and before I even get halfway to the counter he said that he wouldnt change my oil today and to come back tomorrow. Ended up going to Jiffy Lube down the street and was done in 15 minutes. The guy working at Pepboys told me walk-ins take preference over appointments, which makes no sense at all. Dont offer appointments if you wont honor them. It would have been nice to have been contacted on either day before making the drive. Probably will not be back and will not recommend to anyone in the future.
Took my 2000 Honda CRV in for a tire rotation and balance and the service writer was floundering but what caught my eye was the Tech named Chris. He did an excellent job and when I saw him doing a procedure to my hubs and wheels of grinding off the debris, I stopped him and asked what he was doing he explained the process to me. What a thoughtful and detailed person. Thank you Chris !

My power steering pump went out on the highway, and it snapped my S-belt. I called AAA and got towed here. They had my truck captive because it couldnt drive to a Firestone (I will only take my vehicles here from now on - even if it means paying to get towed further). Prices here are crazy.Labor billed at $104 / hr.Serpentine belt cost twice what I saw on their website.Pump was 30% overpriced.You pay $23.40 for a labor warranty... Never asked for it and never heard of paying for someone to stand behind their own workmanship.You pay $25.59 for a Shop Fee. I quote from the invoice: represents costs and profits to the motor vehicle repair facility for miscellaneous shop supplies. In other words, they cant manage their own costs enough to give you good value, so they throw on a fee... then they pad to make a profit on it. Hmmm...They lost my business forever. Dont use them.
Worst tire purchase experience ever!! First the staff was very unprofessional and rude. Second the mechanic did not know how to properly balance tires. had to go to another company to fix the balancing on the tires. After pepboys tried 3 different times and couldnt give me my vehicle back without it shaking you like a paint can on the interstate. They then proceeded to tell me my rims are bad. Which they are not.
Will not be going there again. Never can get a oil change due to low staffing. That happened 3 times in a row within a few months.
Ordered part for my vehicle and it was in store exactly as specified. The the team that helped me was awesome and even helped me out beyond my expectations. I have never had a bad experience at this store. Wiper Blade$$ :)
