Attended one of the most beautifully decorated wedding receptions ever. Great venue & always enjoy it here.
Great venu for wedding reception. The atmosphere and staff both wonderful.
I love the iron works bar. Especially I love the patio in the Courtyard
Great wedding venue!
I had an appreciation for the nostalgia and potential. ---- Enter into a shop and restaurant area and then pass through to the ball room as I did to take it all in or reserve the ballroom and use a private entrance.
Was there for a wedding. The staff was nice, and the place was perfect for wedding purposes. It was walking distance from the hotel I stayed in, so that was convenient.
Love this space, its a beautiful building for a reception. Unfortunately some things are left to be desired when it comes to the management and coordination. I also thought it was a bit pricey.
As a wedding photographer, I will always recommend and make the 3 hour drive to the Millwork Ballroom! Its such a neat venue with some really beautiful surrounding areas! Such a cool space!!!
Very neat building and great restoration of a historic factory. It was very clean, the attention to detail was top notch, and it was a great place to have the wedding we attended. Highly recommend for anyone who loves history or having something with an industrial feel.
The specialty beer is always good! I also enjoy the building, its been restored beautifully. If youre into arcade games, there are some classics present as well.
We were there 2 nights ago, and I had a delicious birthday dinner at The Foundry. We had the Red Zinfandel and a Manhattan, very nice. I especially noted and enjoyed the salad and bread presentations, and my Flat Iron steak was tasty. But the best was the Fried Apple Pie - a turnover just the right size and delicious!! Service was prompt and solicitous. We walked through the open area, viewing the small bar and gift selection, ending up at Back Pocket Brewing, sitting at the bar and enjoying a beer. There were several informational postings detailing the historical aspects of the building. My husband, a native Dubuquer, really enjoyed reading and reliving the “Old Days” in the Marketplace!
We had our company Christmas Party here last weekend, would definitely recommend this venue, the team was top notch, very accommodating even with last minute requests! The space speaks for itself, needs no decoration, well done restoration, great location, unique and inviting. If I had to make one recommendation, leave a spoon in the chicken picatta, all the juice went to the bottom of the serving dish and hard to ladle with a fork, very minor I know. Bravo Team Millwork Ballroom Event Center!
We hosted our wedding at the Millwork Ballroom this past Novemeber. The process leading up to the day was very exciting, however very deceiving. When our special day finally arrived we were let down that the food served tasted *nothing* like our delicious, flavorful tasting a few months prior. The pork was dry, tough and in serious need of seasoning/gravy, the roasted carrots were nearly raw and hard to chew, the garlic mushrooms had no flavor and also hardly cooked. The lemon oregano chicken was decent and easily the best item on the plate, which wasnt hard to top. Very unsatisfying, major disappointment. *Not a brag worthy meal.* That being said, there was a lack of efficiency running the event. The night took a dive as it took a long time for our guest to be released to the food line. The head table had eaten salad, been served the main course and finished before any of the guests had even begun going through the line. Which made for a long time for our hungry guests to be sitting at the table after speeches and such. We were disappointed with the coordination and communication as we didnt even get the keys to the honeymoon suite (which was supposed to be a perk of booking with them) till late that night after the reception. Concerned having not heard anymore about it since we booked, we ended up booking elsewhere a few days before our wedding for peace of mind. Seemed like something that should have been organized prior to the end of the reception, or at least have dialogue about it before the end of the night. On the bright side, the event space is beautiful!
Plated dinner, didnt fill us up. Carrots were still raw. Salad Dressings were brought out after everyone was done eating. Bar Tenders did well. Decent venue, Rustic.
Amazing venue for our wedding! Brittani and Courtney were great to work with. The venue was perfect, the food was delicious, and we had a wonderful time!
Great venue for weddings!!
The location is perfect for experiencing the Historic Millwork District. I am looking forward to the new shopping area, as well as, the dining! Truly a one stop shop.
I did a wedding there.... Great atmosphere, outstanding food!
Very nice, open floor space, friendly service. It was a nice place to unwind
Attended a wedding there..easy parking..unique venue....great food!
The Foundry. A new establishment in lower Dubuque. Located in the millwork part of town. We made it on their 3rd night open. Eight of us had a fantastic evening. A must do place to eat.
See edit BelowIf someone you know is having a wedding there..... Send a card.... the food is horrid! Posting this from the Porcelain Throne! MY GOODNESS THIS IS HORRIBLE!!!!! The Menu for this wedding was Spaghetti.... they screwed it up... didnt have enough it was horrible. Multiple tables waited 20 Min for food that came out under cooked!Edit: So I wonder? Why did the event center remove their comments 2 months after this wedding was ruined? The accused the Couple of over inviting when truth be told they Had tables taken down and 1 seat at each table removed because the RSVPs came in light. Then they attempted to Charge them $450 extra because a member of the wedding party popped a confetti Cannon! The restaurant they had there Finally closed! Good riddance! The food was Horrible there too!Dont Book ur wedding there!
We had a venue tour here. The space theyre turning into a café makes for a way better venue space then the one thats under construction to be the venue space. The lady giving us the tour was late, unprepared and very unorganized. She didnt really set the stage for us and the table and chairs being used on our wedding day would be plastic folding tables and chairs 😳. I realize that its an up and coming space but sell me on the space, not the light fixtures. Also, parking is a disaster!! As she walked us to the lot she took my email address and said shed email me more information which she has yet to do, its been a month and a half. I hope they get it together cause it could be really cool but its too much of a risk for me to want to have the best day of my life here.
It’s a beautiful venue - but there’s a lot of behind the scenes issues that need work!!!!!! A LOT!!!
Awesome atmosphere, but a bit chilly in December.
Do not book your wedding here as they will give your date away right from underneath you!!
This place is really cool
The picture online is not the space used for a weddings. The coordinator seemed highly uninterested. $1000 for 100 chairs for 1 hour? Not worth the price.
Awesome place!
Great place
Very disappointed with the selection
