Great service when needed -- come in a timely manner -- in winter removing snow is spot on. Grass and grounds maintained -- very attractive. The new walking path is a real plus. Also having the bins available for secure delivery is great. - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings

This apartments maintenance is on time every time. outside is maintained clean and sidewalk is good for walking. However the inside of the apartment, soundproofing is very bad. Even walking, shutting the doors kinda vibrates the unit.If you have small kids, its best to choose ground level apt otherwise u can expect people downstairs to come and knock the door to complain. Before u book an apartment, its best to look upper and lower vacant units to choose which suits u well.Cheers!

I helped my daughter find an apartment on short notice when she moved to Indy from out of state. Neither of us were familiar with this city. Lakes of Windsor has been nothing but stellar. The apartment is spacious, beautifully updated and well-maintained. The full time maintenance staff is super responsive, not just to fix things but also to install a light fixture, drapery rods and such. The neighbors are wonderful; a friendly mix of families and professionals. The buildings, grounds, parking lots and landscaping ar all impeccable. So is the pool amd clubhouse. Snow removal is quick. Garbage is hidden from view. She feels safe day and night. She can walk to Meijer and many restaurants, and major stores are nearby. We found absolutely nothing that was a better value and many apartments that are smaller for $300/month more. Highly recommended.

This review is difficult to write as the review will appear to be a knock against the staff of Lakes of Windsor. Unfortunately, I would be remiss if I didnt bring up these concerns, and this is the best place to do so.Over the course of my years at Lakes of Windsor, the office staff have been friendly (although the wording of the mass communications regarding items like two different types of simultaneous road work could use improvement), the location is convenient to walk to the Meijer via dedicated path away from Southport Road, and the few times Ive submitted maintenance requests theyve been responded to quickly. The apartments are serviceable for apartments built around 2000 (decent but showing their age). The recent addition of an Amazon Hub has made package retrieval easy.Unfortunately, I have to knock two stars off due to the residents. There is a culture among residents of slowly walking in the street (despite perfectly good sidewalks on most roads) and glaring at you when you just want to get home. Kids will frequently play in the streets unsupervised, despite an incident of a child being struck by a vehicle several years ago. My wife used to feel comfortable running around the complex (instead of in the gym as many gym frequenters do not seem to shower), until a group of three men saw her run by and began to follow her. During one incident, we had to wait in our car to leave as another vehicle stopped behind ours and an angry gentlemen stepped out, firmly clutching a baseball bat, despite no baseball fields nearby. And, yes, as reported in other reviews, if you accidentally leave your car unlocked one night, a resident will make sure no high-value items will still be there in the morning. If these do not sound like legitimate concerns to you, or are of a low priority for you, and you expect all of this as the new par-for-the-course for the south side of Indianapolis, then Lakes of Windsor offers 2 and 3 bedrooms at a relatively lower price (their 1 bedrooms could be cheaper for what you get). I only wish we had instead lived here fifteen to ten years ago.

It used to be a good safe place to stay but not anymore. There are several incidents of car break-in, bike-stealing in past few summers and administration is absolutely reluctant to make any changes to ensure residents safety. Rather residents are expected to take action and make their home and surroundings safe as administration has decided to be a mere spectator. Good luck to you LOW!!!

To anyone reading these reviews, be advised that at least two of them giving FIVE STARS were written by Betsy Corn, who is the manager, and Jeffrey Thomas who is a leasing agent here. This is conflict of interest and of course, very biased. If you live here and dont want to spend $45 a month for a carport, then no worries. You can use any carport you want, even if it is being leased by another resident. This happens all through the year, and no matter how many times it is brought to the attention of manger and staff, NOTHING is done about it. You can give the information about the car, the person (even the building and unit number they live in) and the license plate information to the staff and they will tell you they dont know who that person is, or anything about them. Nothing is ever done, management just lets it go.Cars are vandalized nightly. Lawns are carpeted with dog feces. The dog poop cans were only emptied three times all summer. Litter thrown out on Tuesday will still be laying around the next Tuesday. Very old apartments, blinds and appliances 25 years old. Also notice there are responses to some of these reviews, but the one where the resident was threatened with collection action got no response from the administration.

Ive lived here for a year, and wow, Im writing this review to give a positive insight that differs greatly from the recent reviews.First of all, the maintenance and staff are extremely responsive. I can personally speak to this as within a month of moving in, I had a washer that broke not once, but twice, and was replaced THE DAY OF and has been working just fine since then. I also had a dishwasher glitch that was fixed the day of, and again, the dishwasher has been working ever since.Ive seen complaints about parking which is genuinely head scratching because I never have issues, and typically dont even have a car parked on either side of me. As far as staff, the leasing agent I worked with was super helpful, easy to reach, and gave me a heads up that I could get an upgraded apartment and let me know when rates were going to increase so I could get an application in before that happened.I looked at EIGHT different apartments, from Greenwood up to Broadripple and Castleton, before choosing this complex, and in the Indianapolis area, this place is a genuine steal. Many other places up north shrink your floor space and charge you way more. There were no hidden fees when I applied here and I love that water and trash are included so I dont even have to think about it.The small complaints about people not using the sidewalks is definitely accurate, but I have no idea how thats the complexs fault.

These apartments look nice but have a handful of problems. For one they are pretty over-priced and not very affordable for the average person. Also my apartment had mice, leaks, and several Wi-Fi outtages. The staff rarely empties the dog waste trash cans so they pile up and smell pretty bad. Parking can be pretty inconvenient as there are not enough spaces for the amount of cars there.

New from California and we could have not chosen a better place to live. The grounds are kept well, the place is clean, the facilities are wonderful and the most important piece, the Staff of Lakes of Windsor is top notch. Everyone, including maintenance, groundskeepers, Leasing office are not only professional, but super supportive, welcoming, polite and actually PLEASANT. Here the entire staff treats you with respect and warmth. Dont get me wrong, these folks are here for business, if there is a problem they are on it until is done correctly and completely. I come to Lakes of Windsor Apartments and it truly is coming home. Thank you and Team for all you do.This is a COMMUNITY!

I used to live here with my ex bf for about 2 years. My name was on the lease but I’d notice my name was always left out on any communications from the Lakes of Windsor office. Emails, letters, rent invoice and calls from the office were always addressed to my ex and he was the one contacted. No big deal right? I didn’t think so because he paid rent and I paid utilities based on what we agreed. So, I was baffled when the office decided to send me a move out bill once we broke up after his infidelity. When I called they completely ignored me and threatened to send me to collections.

Been here almost two weeks. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. Tori went above and beyond to make sure my every need was met. As I moved from another state, she made sure to make me feel comfortable in my new apartment. The grounds are beautiful and the neighborhood is real convenient. Love the experience so far. Recommend to anybody.Ok... Its been over a year now. Great place to live. Staff is on point and the entire facility is well kept. Only a couple of minutes from shops, downtown, and whatever you need. Couldnt have chosen a better place to live. Looking for a comfortable place to reside in Indianapolis? Lakes of Windsor is that place!!!

Have been living here for nearly 4 months now. Initially we had some problems with our neighbors due to the amount of noise. I was worried it was just the way the units were built, and theres nothing that could be done. Thankfully, those upstairs neighbors moved out a month after we got there, and our new neighbor is rarely heard. In our unit, we have a shared dining area wall with our same-floor neighbor, and this can cause some noise issues, but again, I think this is more to do with the resident than with the units themselves. They seem to be college kids, or young professionals that like to play loud music from time-to-time. It doesnt happen often enough, but can be concerning. The landscaping is incredible, and my girlfriend is a fan of the pool and gym. We definitely take advantage of the convenient walkway that leads to the Meijers store next to the apartment complex thats open 24/7. Weve only had a couple maintenance issues that were resolved within hours (sometimes minutes) of us placing a call. The front office staff have all been incredibly helpful and very welcoming. If not for the issues with the noise, I would award 5 stars. Apartment living is apartment living, and sometimes you cant help who your neighbors are.

Didnt live here but have friends here and they always say good things about this apartment. For the plus side it is new and very clean community. Apartments have all the available options and they take care of the maintenance requests promptly. Great lake views and well maintained play area for kids. Next to Meijer.

They dont give clubhouse for rent to current residents, even though they have a clubhouse. Rents are high and facilities are worst. Zero star Rating. Management need to understand the needs of residents and change their policies. Showpiece resources, you cant use it. Only to attract new tenants.

Apartments are large with lots of character! Private Entrances, no shared hallways! Octagon Windows, vaulted ceilings, private patios, Loads of STORAGE! The landscaping is a dream! You feel like you have pulled into a resort! Some of the apartments have been remodeled with wood like floors and granite countertops and some are fully carpeted! You can choose what you like best. Nice location- close to downtown, good school district, next door to Meijer and Target!

Overall very nice, although it is quite expensive. My upgraded apartment (wood floors and new appliances) is beautiful and was kept very clean. The maintenance staff is very responsive, as well as the office staff. I was impressed that they gave out welcome baskets on our move in day! The pool is nice, but sometimes dirty from all the leaves surrounding it. My biggest problem is bugs! I can’t even go on my porch without getting bit by a thousand mosquitos and the spiders here are really bad. I’ve lived here for 3 months and have already found at least 10 spiders, even on my bed :( I keep up with cleaning, but they always find a way in. It can be a hassle trying to find parking as well.

The interior of our unit was very modern and updated. Washer and Dryer included in the unit. Even though we were living above and next to a few neighbors, we hardly ever heard them because of the good insulation. A few times with windows open, the business park behind the neighborhood could get pretty loud including some bikers that liked to go back there. Also the lighting on those buildings was very bright and shined into our unit causing us to get black out blinds. Perfectly fine after that. Plenty of space and the vaulted ceilings made it feel even larger. The exterior of the unit was well kept with plenty of lighting. We lived close to some trees and shrubs so it felt close to nature. The rest of the neighborhood is pretty sterile but will look nicer when the trees mature more. I dislike the way they organized the sidewalks and would prefer to have more of a circuit. The way sidewalks are set up forces people to walk in the middle of the street at all hours of the day including myself, which makes it hard for drivers and dangerous to pedestrians. The pool is excellent and hardly ever crowded although a hot tub would be a good addition. I am not sure why they took down the trees in the BBQ/hangout area but we stopped going there after that as it didn’t feel as nice. The workout center should have a mat for people to do sit up’s and other exercises and could definitely be bigger and have more weights. Our unit was a 5 min walk to the newly renovated Meijer which is a huge perk. Also in the same plaza was Panera, Jimmy John’s, and a few other restaurants which was great. Also, driving 2 minutes to several stores like Target and Aldi and many more shops. It was nice being close to downtown (15-20 min drive) but also close to Greenwood (10-15 min drive). If you want to walk everywhere though, then I would recommend finding somewhere in Broadripple instead. Most places you have to drive. If you like local shops, this is also not the place for you since most of the area is national chains and brands. The area felt very safe and we felt comfortable leaving our door unlocked when out for a couple hours, granted we had a camera just in case. Finally, the maintenance was very fast and fixed any problem I had within the day while I was at work typically. The staff knew us by name and would have packages ready for us seeing us walk up to the office which was awesome. The price was a little pricey but only increased 5 or 10 per year which is reasonable considering the market. Overall a great place to stay and bittersweet to move on to our new house.
