I lived here for 2 years. I LOVED my apartment very spacious and updated. However the new management was my final straw. I moved out in June of this year (2021). After the new manager emailed me in February asking about how I would like to proceed with my eviction and my outstanding balance. I had never ever missed a payment. Luckily I kept all my money order stubs and was able to prove that it was an error on their end. They didnt seem too pleased and were rude to me since then. When I went to give my notice to vacate there was no incentive to keep me as a resident which was sad bc I never had any problems and always paid on time. The previous management was much better. OH and my work order for my outlets took over 2 months and multiple phone calls to be fixed. Save your money and look elsewhere.

If I Could Leave 0 Stars I Would. Our lease ended May 25, we put in our vacate to leave 60 day notice a week late March 25 instead of March 11 but was told our notice would still go in on March 25 and that even though we would be gone by April 30 we would still be financially responsible for our lease till May 25.. and was told of the pro rated amount wasn’t turned in by the 4 at 9am then we would be charged a $75 late fee so we turned our rent in May 3. Flash forward to June 29 2021 the new manager Chyna calls and asks when will we be able to pay our $132 outstanding balance and that she sent our final ledger to us on June 10... we never received it because SHE SENT IT TO THE WRONG EMAIL now we are still being charged a late fee for something we didn’t even know about, & that they waited a whole month and a half to call about DO NOT LEASE WITH THESE PEOPLE even after u move they add in random charges !!

We have lived here for almost five years and only twice has management been good here. We’ve seen at least ten different managers since we have been here. Blake and Corey were the only great managers!We have a new management company and nothing is getting done! Very disappointed! We will not be renewing our lease in August

This apartment is so rude!! My daughter lived here one year and she didn’t sign another lease because of new management at this apartment she was so rude and she went without AIR for 2 months without getting fixed!! But they sure wanted the rent on time but couldn’t fix the AIR!! She liked old management was nice his name was Corey!!

Dont move here!! A/C doesnt work properly and its horrible especially with the summer weather..Ive called them several times about my A/C not working properly and all they do is clean some dust off the A/C unit and say it will never be at my set temp of 68° because these apts are old..Its horrible it being in the 90°s outside and by the afternoon ur apt being in the upper 70°s almost 80°!!

My niece has lived here for 3 years and I visit every year generally the place is quiet the big disappointment this year is the pool has been closed

Nine different management within one year. A 20 year old manager (that did not even address herself so we had no idea that she was even management) kicking out a severely pregnant woman all because she had guests over on Fathers Day cook out! Management claim that we dont live there though that we did so how are you kicking us out!? Even the police agreed that the apartment management is unethical! Do NOT move here!

This Review is for Oak Park Apartments, not Midtown Torsion Spring for Garage. Very disappointed with new manager. Their first welcome gift to all of us was shutting off our heat and telling us to bundle up. Now midsummer they havent even opened the pool. We will be moving out in July.

I’ve lived at Oak Park apartments 4 years now. I’ve read past reviews and I see this place has had its ups and downs for sure like any place . It is an older community. The history behind it if taken the the time. You’d realize how awesome this place really is! It’s not you’re typical apartment complex you’d drive by. Once I took a tour of my future apartment my homeI was instantly sold !Let’s start with the grounds.. you’d never know in here the inner part where all the balconies face are looking towards giant beautiful trees 🌳! The pool which I love ! I haven’t seen a pool and sun deck like what we have anywhere, it’s just a great way to unwind at the end of the day . We’ve got a pretty pond with a fountain as well!With our current management they are working on all these new amenities for us! Corn hole, Grilling stations, dog park to nameA few . Excited to see that come about .The staff, Kory and his team here are awesome ! Maintnence works very hard make sure everyone is taken care of if anything arises.They treat us like family here and that’s what we are here at oak park is a family. We are a tight nit community every one looks out for one another ...Id recommend Oak Park to any one!Julia 😀

We have lived here for 3 years in a row and absolutely love this place. Signing another lease as well. They have taken very good care of us and have been making upgrades all over the place. Friendly staff and quick to fix any issues that we have had or would have. Would reccomend to friends and family.

Lived here for three years, it has been quite good. The price has been great for the size. The staff is usually available when you need them. The cat problem is all but gone. Maintenance has been iffy in the past, but since the most recent management came in, all has been well if you have a maintenance emergency. The only real criticism is of the buildings themselves, the ceiling coil heaters are sometimes not enough, but thats not something management can change without completely tearing the buildings apart. Also the trash dumpsters tend to be full a little too long before its picked up.Overall its pretty good.

I will say I love my apartment. Very spacious and the grounds are nice. But I am moving due to new management. They are rude and they threaten to charge for EVERYTHING. I paid my attorney $1000 to fight for tenant rights. I won and now choose to move.

I stayed at this apartment for over two years. I love everything about it. My apt was really big and The price was pretty low. The stuffs are really nice too.

Wow I’ve never lived in such an unprofessional community. I smell marijuana in my apartment everyday and when I finally called the office, Amber mentioned she would leave notices and let people know again this is supposed to be a non smoking apartment unit. No notice was ever sent out and that was weeks ago. (Pretty common to tell you they’re going to do something and then it never happen) Parking is a joke. I have to walk from around the complex at night when there is no parking and I do not feel safe whatsoever! My car has been broken into and my boyfriends as well (his radio got stolen). There are no locks on the entry to the hallways and the other morning I woke up to a druggie sleeping against my door yelling at me to go back inside. I was terrified, called the office with no answer and then just called the police to come get him, almost missed my flight. They are constantly shutting off our water with less than 24 hour notice. I mean the list goes on and on. The only water temperatures we have are cold and scolding hot so I’ve learned to just deal with short cold showers. Not to mention the pond is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! They don’t treat it and it creates huge swarms of bugs right by my unit. “Sparkling Pond” is LITERALLY a joke because it is just straight up green at this point. “Picnic areas” are a joke as well because I’ve only seen two beat up and mildewy picnic tables. Also any notices we get from the office are in bold font and sound completely threatening. Really unpleasant place to live!

This place is the worst. My air conditioning didnt work the first year I lived there. It took 8 months to get a copy of our lease. We are paying more than most people there because they forgot to check our lease. We signed our move out papers and then they made us pay 900 for the whole month and theyre saying we cant move out until next month. The worker in the office has no clue whats going on. The prices are way too high for what you get. We were told our apartment would have a washer dryer hook and it didnt. We got swindled into paying for renovations and the list goes on and on. Dont live there if you dont have to.

I just moved in and Im not sure how to feel... the apartments are newly renovated and I feel like Im getting a good bang for my buck, but when I moved in there were still a TON of problems that they needed to fix in my apartment (a few theyre still working on) and Im trying to figure out how to do laundry today but the office seems to be closed during a time when they should be open. This isnt okay.

I have renewed again, another year in my drama free, quiet neighborhood, We have the best new management, they are more understanding to our needs, maintenance are the best, works really hard and very trustworthy. I have and will continue to refer anyone to live here. Our pool is quite awesome might I add and we have new amenities being built as I speak, Everyone loves corn hole,chess,a dog park and a beautiful pergola with grills,I have made good friends here, Our community is beautiful cant deny that, I cant wait to sit around our fire pit and roast marshmallows and hot dogs, I cant wait to meet more families and make new friends. Come check us out, You wont be disappointed,another year satisfied

My AC has been broken over a week. It is currently 84 degrees in my apt AT NIGHT. They don’t answer the phone or repeated messages. Do yourself a favor. DO NOT LIVE HERE.

This apartment complex has been absolutely perfect! Quiet neighborhood, spacious and well kept apartment grounds with even a fire pit! The apartments themselves have unique features that make them your own, and the management team lead by Blake have been astounding!Would recomend anyone to live here!

Went in to see my apartment after i was approved and the apartments are nothing like the pictures online. they are not updated at all so i decided to move somewhere else. false advertisement at its best

Ive been here 4yrs its been very quiet and never need matainence work done i like the big square feet and no drama that i have seen in here as well ...the price has been ok for what u get theres still a couple things that was supposed to be done and havent seen it yet and its been a bit but nothing deal breaking... under new management now and notice a bigger increase on the rent now wich not to fond of by double the upcharge so maybe they will see compared to other places its much of a upcharge....but in all honesty for as old as these are they are spacious and its quiet in here and no drama and staff is nice ...

They did roof work..... In winter/spring while its been raining so water went through from the roof into the ceiling and started to leak in to the apartments they had to come out 3 different times the first time they fixed it the second time they fixed it the thrid time they fixed it its fixed for the fourth time now so far its been a week and it hasnt leaked Thats a good thing. But besides the water leaks in the past of living here we had to call IMPD numerous times on 3 cycles of neighbors this place is not peaceful. Oh and almost forgot this is not on the apartment people but the workers who worked on the ceiling damaged the parking spaces in the parking lot with there machines. They dont know who to hire to fix stuff (its not professionals anyways) they prob hire people off of Craigslist. Oh and about the leaking its been leaking in other peoples apartments to not just mine. This place is just a big UGH!!!!!!!!!!

New management sucks. They came and replaced my windows without notice and crawled all over my bed, left all my lights on, and didnt clean up their mess. Parking sucks and nothing ever gets fixed right the first time.

Old apartment complex, you can definitely tell by the way it smeels as you walk in the building, the apartments have great square footage but some the doors wont open or close because the floors probably got wet at some point and didnt got taking care of. The stove is so old that Betty White is younger they had to replace the one that was in the apartment and replace it with the same kind, fortunately this one works

I now see why the price of living here is so cheap. Cats everywhere. Nothings ever fixed properly. There is never a parking spot, but hey they let anyone park here. They have some trailor thing sitting outside of my apartment when there is nothing supposed to be sitting there like that. Its getting all very old.

This place is so bad! Its infested with fleas when I say infested I mean they are coming from the lights and the floors! We dread making dinner or even using the restroom knowing that we will have 30 fleas on us immediately! Im calling the board of health first thing Monday! Also a apartment in 8407 is now infested with bedbugs. So I have to get out for it reaches my apartment which is six doors down! Oh by the way dont walk outside to take your trash out!!!! You will have fleas on you the entire time!

I lived there for six years. Luckily I lived on the front row on Stop 12 Rd in a ground level apt and there were only 4 entrances to other apts.Severe ball bug problems. Spiders werent as bad as ball bugs but were bad. The stocked fishing pond is nothing but a huge mud hole that is only about 3 feet deep at its deepest point. No decent fish. Grounds absolutely covered with goose poop. Dog poop from people that dont clean up after their pets. Water leaks in a/c vent. Never fixed. Electric ceiling heat not good at all. Make sure patio door is closed and locked during dark hours. Never had any trouble with vehicle burglary but that had to do with being in the front I think. Had a friend over once and they were getting ready to tow car because one tire was on white parking line. Couldnt take dog for a walk after dark. I could but didnt feel safe at all. Dont know about the rental garages. I have a storage unit offsite but I heard many a story about garages. Dumpster always overflowing with garbage after new management took over. They eliminated the dumpster that was close to my apt so had to walk twice as far to dump trash and overflowing problem started. Antiquated fixtures and faucets. Huge apt with very little closet space. Mine was a one bedroom. It did have a decent fridge. Electric stove was horrible. Counter tops old and cracked then painted over to hide cracks. They were remodeling kitchens as people moved out. Not sure about bathrooms.Rent is very high and then they pound you with all utilities and apt insurance is mandatory. Trash fees also. DO NOT GET BEHIND ON RENT that is a whole nother NIGHTMARE. They did replace 3 Windows in apt but left the old drafty patio doors as is. They informed new tenants that they couldnt landscape their own patio. Constant turnover with tenants and empty apts. Lovely flat white paint throughout apt. Once again that was changed as people moved out but long-term tenants had nothing coming. Laundry facilities were horrible. Their pool has no shallow end for kids. Long story short. RUN as fast as you can before they get their hooks in you. One word. GHETTO. Totally amazed that I made it as long as I did. Good luck if you move here. I wouldnt recommend it to my in laws. 😉

The apartment complex is amazing in terms of what you receive for what you pay.The rent is more than reasonable for the amount of square footage you recieve.The buildings are old but they have a nice quaint charm to them.The property is very pet friendly. If you have a dog they have six doggy stations stocked with baggies for taking care of thier poop.I have not had any problem with management or maintenance in the 1.5 years of living there (as of this writing). When I have made a maintenance request - which has happened only one time - maintenance responded in less than 24 hours.I am amazed at all the complaints others have posted about this complex. People use some common sense...1. This property has a decent sized lake. That is going to attract migratory waterfowl such as ducks and geese. If you dont want to deal with them then go live somewhere that doesnt have a lake.2. The pest problem of fleas is caused by the feral cat colonies. If those of you living at the apartment would stop leaving food and shelters out for them then they would go away. Once the freal cat are gone the flea issue will diminish.3. The apartment complex is aware of the flea issue. That is why they are proactive in spraying around the building.4. If you dont want your car towed away (lady in the cottage) then dont park in a no parking zone.5. This is an old apartment complex - I am suprised people cannot tell that based on the architecture style.

The new management is cruel to animals. There are to colonies of community cats in this complex. Management throws away the shelters & food/water bowls. All these cats have are part of a TNR program and are protected. Management threatened all tenants with eviction if they feed the cats. Very sad.

I HATE IT HERE! Management is HORRIBLE. They shut off my HOT water without notifying me.. I have had MICE in my apartment .. Yet no one can do a damn thing about it! THESE APRTMENTS ARE HORRIBLE.
