Great shop... Way bigger than it looks, i think he owns the whole lot. Got maintenance done on a few work trucks/vans. One vehicle got a tune-up wiper blades changed all the little odds and ends I think he changed 11 light bulbs and charged me a few dollars each some of them were really hard to get to. The other vehicle hadnt had service in a long time and the brakes were completely shot rotors and everything and the price was extremely reasonable. Literally half of what I paid the last place. I also got my little electric smart car some maintenance hadnt been done since I bought the vehicle 3 years ago, they just checked all the little odds and ends. It was really hard to find a place that did electric cars and I can tell this place is still relatively new compared to gas vehicles however they were very very thorough and efficient. They reset the maintenance alarm on the car, changed wiper blades, changed the battery in my key and gave me a full report on my battery life remaining for a very very fair/low price. Amazed at how little maintenance there is to do on electric cars...3 years and the only thing Ive done is replace a tire after hitting a curb... So this place is probably better experienced than some of the other people that are advertising they do electric car maintenance because theyve already been doing it for awhile,... But very fair pricing, very nice staff, very thorough in their work, and really fast....i could always pick up the car same day or next day. I highly recommend this place theyre definitely professionals for gas or electric.

Schimdtys helps out again!Shane there helped to pick a good tire for the new truck, the stock 20in wheels and tires ride pretty rough, the new Yokohama tire (18in 12.5x33in size) and wheel combination rides so much better and this combination has already proven their value already with two comfortable trips to the SF bay area already. (The Chomer wheels are OEM 20s, the Gray/Black wheels ar 18in and improve so many aspects of the ride quality...

I dont really know what to say, because I dont know where to start! Schmidtys has worked on my cars a number of times -- and EVERY TIME I am impressed and leave feeling good. They always seem to go the extra mile with their service! Like the time they had trouble getting to the bottom of what was wrong with my sons 2002 Camry -- it took them a few extra days to figure it out and get the problem resolved, but they gave my son a loaner car, with no extra charge for the loaner (the actual cost didnt veer from the estimate, other than the cost of the additional part they determined we needed)! Also, things like changing air filters they dont even charge me for labor -- which a shop really shouldnt because that sort of thing is so easy! They even brought the used air filter to me, and let me decide whether I want a new one this time, or wait until next time. From the office staff (shout out to Christy!), to the mechanics (shout out to Dave!), to the owner himself (Shane), I feel I am in good hands. I fully trust these guys with my vehicles, and will keep coming back because they have shown time and again that they do quality work -- and they dont try to nickel-and-dime me for things whenever I come in. Besides the overall value of the multitude of repairs I needed, two additional things stuck out to me: educating the customer and friendly customer service.First, regarding educating the customer, after evaluating my car, Dave called me and explained what needed to be done and why. I dont know too much about cars, and Dave was patient when I asked follow-up questions. My car is getting older, so I asked him for an overall evaluation of the car, since Ive been considering getting a new one. He happily answered with details about my car specifically, his opinion about how much life the car had left, and even some tips about the state of the used car market. I felt more educated about cars after taking my car to Schmidtys.Second, their customer service was exceptional. I had issues with my credit card while I was there, and Christy (Kristy?) was very patient, polite, and understanding, and she was willing to let me try my Apple Pay multiple times. Schmidtys is also great because they very clearly outlined their warranties for me, and they enthusiastically encouraged me to actually use it (some places dont want you to take advantage of it). Finally, something I thought really showed that they went the extra mile, was that the glass on my stereo and dashboard was really foggy, so it was hard to see things like the speedometer. It was the kind of foggy where water and a paper towel did nothing. Without me mentioning it, they scrubbed it clean! I was very happy with that extra touch!

Knowledgeable Staff, super friendly ... makes the visit to the mechanic way better than other experiences in the past.. now, I look to the staff as great consulars and the care the car gets as welcomed. Nice to deal with such great people... then of course there Shane (top dude) who works at another level... and always make sure that the experience is top notch.

These guys rock. I’ve been going to them for the past five years and have had nothing but good experiences. They’ve done everything on my vehicle (old, rusty van) from stubborn fuel filters that were rusted in place, suspension bolts that didn’t want to come off, troubleshooted a number of engine issues and always stand behind their work. Everyone at the front counter is professional and nice. I’ve even had an entire engine swap done by them and they said it came with a three year warranty. Something went wrong within that time period that somehow damaged the new engine and they did another swap no questions asked. You never have to negotiate or wrestle with these guys, it will always be honest work and they bend over backwards to work with you if you have any specific needs. There’s a lot of gray area in automotive repair - for example if an issue is troubleshooted incorrectly and repairs have been done, who is at fault for those repair costs? Realistically - it’s the customer. You have an old vehicle and the mechanic did his best to diagnose the problem. And most other shops will send you packing and charge you again for whatever they try the next day when you return for the same issue. I’ve had a number of difficult to diagnose issues where Schmidtys has ate previous repair cost from the original fix and applied them to the end repair because they want to keep you as a customer. They always stand by the warranty time period on their parts whether it’s suspension, water pump, alternator etc. and it’s never a headache dealing with them. That’s the main thing - they take care of you and make the experience enjoyable.

Took my 2004 Chevy Silverado in to have the brakes done and got a call that it also needed a new center bearing and U-joints for the driveshaft. Since the truck has nearly 150,000 miles on it I agreed to having the work done. While driving the truck home after the work was done all seemed fine. However on the next day I had to drive on the freeway and noticed a vibration that wasnt there before. I called them up the next day and without hesitation they said bring it back in. They not only balanced the driveshaft but re-balanced all the wheels as well at no extra charge. I feel that they went the extra mile to make sure I was completely satisfied.

2 Stars for making my horn work again!Only two because they charged me for work that was unsafe. They did not properly adjust my emergency brake, designed to stop a car in case of brake failure. I asked for them to adjust, which they kinda did but it didn’t help the truck slow down much at all while in motion, which is what it had done for the 11 years Ive owned it until something recently gave way and it didn’t perform anymore. Dan and Scott both agreed that emergency brakes aren’t used for emergency stopping, they are only used for parking. A brief internet search proves that statement untrue which I showed them.Long story short, I took the truck to Gustafson Bros where Jose told me that yes the Ebrake should slow you down considerably if needed while driving. And they will fix it to make sure it works like it used to.

I found this place by sheer luck when I relocated to the OC area 9 years ago. I have never been disappointed. They have always been helpful in determining what issues we needed to prioritize to keep our cars running and which we could put off, which is helpful when budgeting. There are few things more disheartening than getting a huge repair bill and tgey really worked to help me avoid such a shock.For several years, they recommended that I scrap my car and buy myself a new one when the cost to repair it to be safe to drive started running into several thousands of dollars. I kept driving it at my own risk, avoiding anything drastic, but did finally lease a new car last year.Good thing I did, because driving my old car through my complex and hitting a speed bump at 15 mph caused the engine to cut out. I was just moving it out to sell to a junk buyer but shudder to imagine what would have happened if Id hit something on the road or freeway and that happened.Schmidtys will not steer you wrong!

We needed emergency service on a Saturday morning. We were moving our daughter across country, from Athens, GA. and didnt know where to go. We called Scott and they fit us in first thing. We had already called 5 other places. All they offered were sympathies for our situation.Schmidtys was courteous, professional, and helped us out when we really needed a good mechanic. Previous visit for belt replacement and noticed later the skid plate was hanging down. Went back and they put a couple bolts in to hold it back up. I was testing them to see if they were going to try and charge for a part or labor. They were honest and said may have happened when belts were replaced. They didnt lose me now as a customer. YAY! HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY!

We had our Jeep worked on here hes a good mechanic but his labor is a little bit too high I shopped around and theres other places that the labor is a little bit lower than his at least by $60 other than this he is a good mechanic he stands by his work and theyre always busy

Now Im an aerospace engineer and have moved on from working on cars, but I still trust mine to Schmidtys because I know their work ethic, and their motivation to keep customers coming back based on quality of work. Quick oil Change while we Waited......Easy in and out

Brought my car here Sat morning and right out of the gate was impressed by how clean and organized the garage bay was, then I walked into the lobby and was even more surprised, TV with seating, A/C, Free WiFi, kids play area, really really comfortable. The service manager came right up to greet me and in 5 minutes was driving my car in to one of their garage bays. He said if all goes well, 60 minutes and $25 to plug the tire. As I watched from the lobby, I could see the technician, lift the car to remove and repair the tire. What I wasnt expecting was, after he lowered my car, he left the hood to, check the oil, check the radiator fluid and check the washer fluid. Then he closed the hood and wiped down the car where he had placed his hands. Then he raised my windshield wipers and washed my windshield. I couldnt believe what I was seeing. In fact, I was so impressed that I walked over to Danielle, the lobby receptionist to pay her right away. She said sir I cant take your payment until the job is done and an invoice is prepared. I know, I know, I know, this sounds like a commercial, it isnt. BUT WAIT THERES MORE, after I paid the $25 in only 46 minutes of repair time, I walked out with my car right in front and when I turned my car on to drive away, realized they had turned on the ac for me.This place rocks and deserves to get as much business as they can possibly handle .... Thank you!

Even with a basic oil change I have found Schmidty’s to be honest and helpful. They always offer repair options. They are a reliable garage and have done good work on my car at a fair price more than a few times. You get what you pay for. I think the front office staff are super friendly to work with too.

I have struggled for years to find a mechanic that I trust with my vehicle. I bought a lemon car years ago and took it to various shops for work. It wasnt until I was referred to Shane and his garage that I knew I was in good hands.Shane and his crew always took care of my car while working on it, not beating parts out with hammers like other shops did with my car. He was always telling me what can wait to be worked on and what needed to get done right away. They always give you the straight scoop on what needs to be done now, and what you can wait on. Maybe it depends on what mechanic you see here, but I am completely dissatisfied with my service. Everything is over priced, they dont explain the problem thoroughly, and my car actually got worse after they worked on it. I took it to another mechanic only to realize I had spent $900 with no results, but my spark plugs had been cut and then glued back together? The fact they they charge $130 just for a diagnostic test should be warning enough, most places will do it complimentary.TLDR Schmidtys Garage will charge you more than double and not even fix the problem, and they definitely tried using scare tactics on me, telling me if I didnt let them do the work my car would die (it didnt, nor was it close)

I recently relocated to Huntington Beach from Utah and my car needed almost $4000 worth of repairs done. I went into the shop some weeks back for an oil change. I had to wait about 15 minutes just to have an associate help me and then I was quoted damn near 80$ for a synthetic oil change. Plus they were not even busy for the amount of time I had to wait. The service rep did try to offer me with getting me in by tomorrow morning, but I left at that point and went to my local dealship that only charged 50$ for an oil change and even included a free car wash.

$109 for a diagnostic its a little excessive.... when you can go to AutoZone and get it for free.How can you justify plugging in a computer & turning on the vehicle as laborer???

Brought in our 06 Ford Escape Hybrid for a non-working A/C. They started with $89 for diagnostics that would be rolled into any repairs - fair enough. All they found was that the fans werent kicking on, so they wanted another $120 to figure out what might be wrong with the fans. We signed off on that. Then, when were over $200 into it, they hit us with the news that were looking at about $1200 for a new fan assembly. $160 (I think) to evacuate and refill the system with dye to look for leaks, 1.5 hours labor to replace the fans, and over $500(!) for the fan assembly. Straight-up told me that only one company made the fans, and it wasnt available cheaper anywhere else.A lot of people would have fallen prey to the sunk cost fallacy at this point, and Im sure thats what they hope for when they pull this routine - but they overplayed their hand here. I happened to be sitting in front of my computer right then, and I found *multiple* sources for that part # ranging from $91 to $200...including retail stores like Autozone while I was still on the phone with him.I told him, based on this fact, I would not authorize any further work. Whether through ignorance or intent, hed grossly over-quoted the part cost, and he still couldnt give me a solid answer as to what the actual issue might be.So Im out over $200, and I have a maybe diagnosis of a bad fan assembly to show for it. That said, it might also be a relay, a fuse, or something even simpler - so yeah. Im not an idiot, and its only for lack of a workspace that I dont do my own repairs. It seems that because my wife and I are women, and/or because the word, hybrid makes mechanics see dollar signs, they thought they could take us for a ride. No thanks. I dont know how they have such a high rating, but maybe they squeeze their customers so hard because glowing online reviews arent cheap.Edit: The owner, Shane, called me and insisted I was mistaken about the alternatives to OEM fan assemblies - He tried to tell me I was looking at generic, chinese, single-fan parts. This was not the case. Google P/N FO3115159 yourself and see what you find.

Been bringing several cars here for many years - Camry, Acadia, Jeep, Prius, Highlander and now Suburban. Friendly, comfortable, great communication, honesty, etc etc. I just moved from HB to Irvine and Ill continue to come here for car service and repair.

Ive been taking my car here for oil changes and free tire rotations for the past 4 years. The staff is SUPER friendly, the place is clean and they are always very honest with me. Sure, they suggest additional work once they inspect your vehicle but its never really anything outrageous and usually its something that does require work.They have an AWESOME waiting area which is big, clean and has individual water bottles and coffee/tea keurig machine. Theres a small kids playing area, plenty of magazines, a big screen TV and free Wifi that will keep you entertained while you wait.They offer a stamp card for oil changes and for every 5th oil change, you get a free one. I have to get synthetic oil for my car which usually comes out to $60 so getting a free oil change is very helpful.

As I type this I am waiting for the police to show up as the clerk (Don) threatened me that after he took off his uniform he was going to beat the $&?! out of me and much moreIt all started as a typical oil change at 3pm. I dropped my car off, got my wallet out of my glove box, put it in my back pocket and my ride showed up and took me back to work.Once I got to my desk naturally, I took my wallet out and put it in my brief case. I dont like sitting on my wallet. I continue working, and at 4:30, 30 minutes before they close, after no phone call I call them and ask them if my car is ready.They said yes. Why didnt they call me? They close at 5pm. I made them wait for me last time, so concerned I asked my ride to leave right away.When I got there, my ride left. After I walked into the office I realized I forgot my wallet. Instead I decided to give them the card number I had saved in my phone. The Clerk balked. He got very frustrated. I apologized. He went up and down about how irresponsible it was.They started insulting me.After the card went through, I told the clerk this was bad customer service. Thats where the nightmare began.Don, the ugly one, shrieked at me. WHAT DID YOU SAY!? THEN I AM VOIDING THIS TRANSACTION. YOU HAVE 15 MINUTES TO GET YOUR CARD DOWN HERE!OR I AM KEEPING YOUR CAR KEYS!Thats right. After I had already paid, releasing my car, Big Ego Don decided it was time to punish me to feel important by stealing my car.They refused my payment, and decided to make it impossible for me to get my car.They refused to let me take my car after I paid because I made a comment about their customer service.I realized I was dealing with an egomaniac, who was extremely insecure, I shut up. I frantically called my coworker and they could not believe it either. He rushed over.Realizing his mistake from his outburst, Don suppressed his insecurities and relented. You know what? Just leaveI was pissed. First he insulted me, then he stole my car after I paid my due after I made a comment the big man didnt like, and now he was wasting my coworkers time, and toying with me to feel big.I took my keys and blew up on him. I told him how it was the worse experience, I called him on his mental issues and he cursed at me.Then the threats came. How he was going to hurt me and once he took off his uniform hes allowed to beat the $&?! Out of me. More and more threads poured out of his mouth.Realizing I was dealing with a psycho, I called the police.By the time I finished writing this Officer Jackson already came and reviewed the legal implications I should follow through with.California Penal Code 422 PC which is a felony or a misdemeanor depending on the case. I will be pushing for felony of this employee.But they also recommended I spread this story out to warn other customers.DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS! They are unprofessional loose cannons. Imagine being in my shoes. It can happen to you.I will file every claim with every association possible, Better business bureau, Newspapers, review sites, blogsBut I will also be taking criminal charges against this company so this never happens to anyone else. Im still in shock his nightmare happened to me, and will follow up soon.Going here today has been the worst experience with a business in my life. DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE.

This is by far the worst i have ever been treated. I was thrown out and threatened and screamed at my SHANE ....not sure if he is the owner.I had over 1,300 dollars worth of work done less than a week ago. One of my reasons for bringing it in was the check engine light coming on and going off along with a loud noise when i accelerate. Long story short a diagnostic was not done only a visual inspection. Within a day of repair the check engine came on again. I went in to ask if they could do a diagnostic since one was not done, i was told it would be another $90. After speaking to Carissa the manager i was finally waiting for Shane who i assumed was the owner. He did not even speak to me he came barreling in screaming for me to leave cussed and pussed me with hi cheast to leave. I am appalled!

Honest, need I say more, thats all that matters in your mechanic. I trust Shane, he is not looking to make a quick buck off me, he runs his company looking at the lifetime value of customers.
