I love the service department at this dealership. They do a video inspection of your car and send it to you in a text so you can see everything they are checking. The next text is an itemization of recommended work to be done with the price quote. You can accept or decline. The service department is very clean and professional. I look forward to purchasing my next vehicle from this dealership.

I bought a used car here in 2016. I also recommended to my boyfriend to sell his car here in 2021 and he did. I used to get my Mazda car serviced here for many years and the only reason I dont get it serviced anymore is because I dont need/have a car. I usually go in with my mind already made up on what I want to do and I like that they never try to convince me to get something more than I want. I have dealt with 2 other car dealerships in Houston but this one is my favorite and I will probably be a lifelong customer. I recommend them to all my friends that are new to Houston.
Took my car in for service and really enjoyed it. Fresh hot coffee was available. There was even cold bottled water available. All of this was complimentary. The staff followed all covid guidelines. Edit: Bryan took care of all the issues and went above and beyond to check everything and make sure the car drives good.Sales and Finance department are really good and works out with you to make the deal. Unfortunately the service department is worst. Wish I would not have bought the service and protection plan with them. Took my car for scheduled oil change and tire rotation, came out with vibration problem in steering wheel and driver side mirror. They even didn’t acknowledge it and said everything is good. I doubt their technicians and licenses. As a driver I feel it every time when I go 70+.
My wife and I purchased a CPO Mazda from Russell and Smith this weekend. The entire process was smooth and easy and the people we worked with were very friendly. After they closed we found an issue with the vehicle, unfortunately. We came in Monday morning and they resolved the issue above and beyond my expectations. To be clear, they resolved the issue in a way that they didnt need to do but chose to take care of their customers in such a way that earned them customers for life.I would highly recommend Russell and Smith for your next car purchase.

I’m very disappointed in this dealership. My husband and I actually signed papers with the “intent” to purchase and had financing in place to close the deal. Monday morning received a call that the car was sold, because the dealership did not want to do a deep cleaning on a 2021 CX-30 because of the smoke smell and because we didn’t want to use their financing. I hope it wasn’t anything else🙄. Instead of explaining their intent to NOT deep clean the car, the Sales Manager and Andrew decided to sale the car to another individual and NOT apologize or provide other sale options to us. I guess our money was not good enough for this dealership because we decided to finance with our credit union. Take away, do NOT sign any paperwork at this dealership as they do NOT honor their agreement. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE at its best!! And yes we do know our credit worth and they wanted to offer us an interest rate other than the Mazda special offer. When we left the dealership we knew this would happen based on how they treated us. To add when we made an inquiry on the car they advise NO cars were available, but then called us back with this offer so we drove 25 mins to test drive and purchase the car. Not a good experience all around.
Very sketchy activity here. Came in car shopping but ended up leaving to explore other options ( keep in mind I left about 20 mins after arriving because they didn’t have the car I wanted in stock) . A few weeks later a hard inquiry on my credit report popped up even though I NEVER signed anything for them to pull it. All we did is talk about the car and what the starting MSRPs were. I called the dealership and asked why did they do this without my consent and the salesman admitted to doing it and said “well you came here a few years ago and we just wanted to see if you would get pre-approved… it’s just a soft inquiry. We did just re-pulled your information.” Basically admitting to doing some fraudulent things. LIKE WHAT?! I would never consider coming back here again.
Would not trust any other dealership with both of my Mazdas. My go to dealership both for service appointments and accessories installations. Somehow their labor costs seem way cheaper than other Mazda dealerships in town!! Customer service is top notch also!!

I drove a Mazda3 for 15 years and loved it! I was ready to buy a CX30 and went to this dealership, where the salesman was so apathetic and didnt seem to want to sell anything. He said inventory is low and check back from time to time. No effort at all! I walked out feeling like he either didnt think I was going to buy a car or he didnt care to make a sale. I didnt believe his story about there not being any inventory. I wrote the GM Steve Rodriguez about my experience and he never even responded. So then I went to Toyota and wow! Not only did they treat me with professionalism but they went out of their way to find a vehicle for me. Tsk tsk, Mazda! SMH
Dropping off a tow in for a customer. Had all customers info ready for service advisor who was finishing up with another customer. He took keys and info and I was on my way with no delays.
Chris told me he will match my price if I send him the offer I got from the other location. I sent him a picture of the paper with total drive out cost(including TT&L and fees) listed on the offer sheet, but he kept asking me for more info and saying he cant match it. I have provided him the exact year, model, color, trim and preferred package, but he just wants to know where I got the price from. If you cant keep the promise, please just dont say such thing in the beginning.

Stephen in the service department is amazing!! Anytime I have issues with my car or need service he is always there to help. I have not had the best of luck with my car (little bit of a lemon) but I know I can count on Stephen in the service department to make it right. They recently did some remodeling and the show room and service area are comfortable while waiting for your car.
They still give exceptional service. Nathan remains professional and the whole place gives a welcoming ambience.
I was conned by the service worker there named Nathan. Be careful cause he will say you need a bunch of stuff done to your car and not to worry about it because its covered by warranty. And when the work is done, demand payment or they will keep your car. I Had to split a $400 payment 3 ways. I went for my maintenance that IS covered and ended up having to spend 400 at the drop of a dime. I give 2 stars cause the other service guy stephen has always given me exceptional service. But nathan scammed me.

Typically, going into a dealership as a solo female is a NO-NO... you need back-up, reinforcements, and a few drinks to have the courage...However, here that is not the case!!! This was the most painless car buying experience ever. Doug Johnson took such good care of me and so did the Finance Manager (ended up getting me a better interest rate than the credit union). I came in having already worked my numbers so, I knew my budget, knew what I wanted, and knew what I was comfortable spending. Doug was professional and respectful of me and my budget (didnt try to sell me a car I didnt want or couldnt afford). I always have good experience with Russell & Smith Mazda since I bought my Mazda 6 here in 2014 and Mazda CX-9 in 2017. This time I especially want to thank the service director Brian Trevino and my advisor Alfredo Vega who really care about my concerns and made the effort to solve the issues.I had my regular maintenance last Monday and after the service I heard a noise coming from the front when the car reaches about 60 miles per hour. So I called Alfredo and he offered a free check-up right away. I brought in my car the day after and discussed the noise I heard with Brian (Alfredo was out). Brian got the technician and listened to the tape (I recorded the noise) carefully. An hour later Brian told me that my car was fine. He thoroughly explained to me that the noise I heard was due to the tire rotation in which rear tires were moved to the front to ensure that the tires wear evenly. The technician switched back the tires and tested on the road to make sure the noise is gone. Brian was extremely polite and professional. I am thankful to have such a great team provided outstanding service to my car!
Stephen is very helpful and looks out for the customer. The staff is friendly and they are great with time. 9/10 the time they say you will be done is the time you will be done. So there is no extra waiting time.

Amazing experience buying a car here! I was looking to buy Mazda and looked up some quotes here online. Carlos Izquierdo promptly emailed me some solid offers. Once I went to the dealer he was extremely professional and genuine. At no point did I feel like he was trying to get me in an unreasonable offer or that he was trying to push me into making a bad deal. He was very patient with me even when I kept flip-flopping about the car I wanted. In the end Im extremely happy with my new Mazda. Went in to check out a used car listed a little bit above KBB price. Found a valve cover gasket leak. General manager insisted nothing was wrong. I made a reasonable offer considering the non disclosed oil leak. He still continued to dance around the subject and tried to sell me on it for their asking price. When dealing with them, bring your own mechanic.
Very helpful and attentive staff! My advisor Alfredo provided a comprehensive inspection report from the technician, Kura, that serviced my vehicle today, letting me know the order of importance of which areas should be serviced first. The inspection is complimentary and it provided me exactly what I needed to know. This along with the recall I got taken care of took about 2 hours, which I feel was a fair amount of time to get everything taken care of. They even gave my car a free car wash at the end. Excellent service overall. My wife and I decided on its time to buy a SUV, after researching for couple of months on all the brands and going to multiple dealerships weve narrowed our list down to 2018 Mazda CX-5. On August 28th, 2018, we decided to take the leap and Gilton Huggett was our primary contact and hes been outstanding every step of the way. Extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. This was the smoothest car buying experience weve ever had. After 9 years of pure bliss with my 2010 Mazda 3, it came time to upgrade. Two nights ago I looked online for what I had in mind and Russell & Smith Mazda came up. Other than looking at the vehicle on my phone, my husband and I decided to go take a peek at 8PM the next night. We were greeted by a gentleman named Doug, wearing a smile and lead us to our associate, Joel. Though Joel is young, he is filled with tons of knowledge of vehicles of different types. I was instantly intrigued with Joels genuine nature and willingness not push or make my husband and I feel pressured. He led us to my desired vehicle and gave us the chance to take her for a spin. I test drove another vehicle but I knew the cute, little red one I had my eye on the night before was, the one. Great service and great deals purchased a used 2015 Toyota in perfect condition mechanically and body. Nate gave my wife and I great service, I recommend speaking with him he was very helpful since we walked in. They have a good bank compared to other dealerships only problem I had was with a manager he kept trying to push us on purchasing a warranty which I didnt get. Overall great service from the other employees.

I specifically hate the back and forth discussions and the harassing phone calls and emails.I was interested in a Mazda CX5 Touring and was paired with Nate and he showed me the two cars colors I was interested in and spoke with Steve, the sales manager. They were both extremely nice and friendly. I really appreciated that Mr. Steve did not condescendingly speak to me. He respected the fact that I had done my homework and come in ready to do business. I wasnt a hopeless single female that didnt have her father or husband to help her out. They gave me a good rate and I ultimately bought from them because they were completely transparent from beginning to end. I feel that is super important to cut the BS and save us all some time!! If you want to get great service, smiling faces, and a really good deal on your car, GO TO RUSSELL AND SMITH MAZDA!!SIDE NOTE: I especially want to give a thank you to Nate Rodriguez because he was so helpful. After trading in my vehicle, he found my secret stash of credit cards and a spare license and immediately locked them up for me to be mailed to me with my license plates.
Disappointed with what they offered me for my Mazda. Two years ago, I tried to exchange by a new car. Last month I went there just to sell my Mazda and they offered me something so low compared to other dealers. And the car was in great condition. They are so receptive when you want to buy a car or go for a maintenance review.

We purchased a Used car from Russel & Smith Mazda and within a year the transmission stopped working. Now we have a car that doesnt run, they wont fix it, and we cant afford another car. I think they knew there was something wrong with the car and sold it anyways. Buyer Beware.
This is what modern car buying should be like. They assume their customers are knowledgeable about prices, other buying options and trade in values. Instead of wasting time on playing old-school games they put there energy into understanding my need, finding the right car for me and delivering it as promised. My faith is renewed that I have options. I would buy from them again or refer my grandmother without hesitation.
Everything about my experience here was great. I began by corresponding with Ravi via email. He was helpful, informative, and direct, which I really appreciated. I did not have the same experience with the other dealerships I was in email contact with. When I came into the dealership in person, Ravi was always quick to greet me and was patient while working with me. I always felt that I was being treated honestly and with respect. I am an extremely analytical person and this was a big purchase for me, so I am thankful that I was able to work with someone like Ravi. On top of all this, Russell & Smith had easily the best prices of all of the places that I looked.As far as my car goes, I love it!! I purchased a Mazda3 and if this is the class of vehicle you are looking at, I think it will be hard for you to find a competing car that comes close to matching this one.I have a few friends who will be looking into getting new cars soon and I have already stressed to them that they stop by Russell & Smith when they are ready. Im skeptical of dealerships, but I was new to the area and had an issue with my car. I took my 08 Mazda MX5 to Russell & Smith Mazda for what I suspected was a wheel bearing or a differential issue...these can be tough to diagnose because you usually go based on the sound. The tech not only correctly diagnosed the faulty bearing the first time, but I am also very satisfied with the work and the price.The hospitality is, however, the finest point about Russell & Smith Mazda. My service advisor - Stephen - texted me updates, hooked me up with a courtesy car, and was very polite and generally well-informed about cars. I would strongly recommend Russell & Smith Mazdas service department.
I purchased a Mazda 6 from Russell and Smith Mazda in November and cannot say enough good things about my sales person, Alex Saldivar. Alex asked all the right questions about what I wanted in a car which helped me decide which car to purchase. Any questions I asked about the Mazda 6, he knew the answer. What a breath of fresh air! I took my 13 year old Mazda 6 in for an oil change early Saturday morning. We had no intention to look at much less buy a new car that weekend; however, Otto caught our attention as we were leaving and asked if we might be interested in test driving the new Mazda 6. We agreed. Otto was thorough, patient, kind, down to earth, and fair - he quickly gained my husbands respect and attention...which isnt an easy task! I had done my research and knew the specific cars I was interested in and the price point I wanted t keep. They treated me very well. Good service for a dealership. Quick and to the point, and while theyll go through the whole list of things that they could do to spruce your car up, they wont try forcing it on you, and theyll tell it to you straight whether they think itll be more or less advised. They are all grate persons. When I was there for buying first Mazda they helped me too much. I was really feeling good. They are very positive and understandable persons.They understood me and all the team were worked hard and at last I could buy a very good car Mazda CZ9 that system is very improved . This technology in this car are only used in Benz and Porche. This is caused I sell my own car toyota and by their help I could finance the second Mazda .If you want buy a car at firs go there. Havent been through the purchasing process here (yet), but Ive been so impressed with the service department!My Mazda had a warranty issue that took quite a few trips to resolve. Each time I took my car in, I was given a complimentary loaner (since it was warranty related). Additionally, they worked very well with Mazda to get the replacement parts to have it handled.They never sold me on additional services (unlike another nearby dealership) and were completely transparent through the process. Im happy to do business here!
Loved the service provided by them. They have an excellent waiting area with a lot of snacks and coffee. They also have free wifi which I used during my stay of 2 hours. I would definitely recommend them because they know what they are doing and wouldnt try to sell anything that you dont need. 5 stars for the customer service and being honesty.
I asked a question about an SUV model they were selling and received a lot info on features like mechanical reliability, gas mileage, available colors and pricing that was in my range. Very helpful in my determination on what I wanted in a vehicle.
I recently purchased the CX5 and I have to say it’s a beautiful vehicle. The process took no time and Salina was outstanding. I was driving it off the lot the next day. I received a great finance rate as well. I definitely will continue to work with her and buy my future cars from here.

While I was waiting for my Mazda to be serviced, I had a chance to speak with Doug Johnson, one of Russell & Smith Mazda’s sales consultants. We are both owners of the redesigned CX-5, and we discussed how happy we are with the new model and the features it offers. He went out of his way to help me troubleshoot a few ways to fix some light (but noticeable) scratches on the hood of my SUV, and he was right in suggesting that I get it done professionally. He is very honest, intelligent, knowledgeable, and professional.While I’m not in the market for a new car right now, if I were I would work with one person only, and that person is Doug Johnson. I recommend him highly to anyone shopping for a new car. It’s tough to find someone you trust who is also helpful, candid, and kind. He didn’t ask me to write a review, and I wouldn’t have taken the time to do so if I didn’t believe so strongly that he is a rare individual who deserves to be acknowledged. This review is long overdue. I bought my car around three weeks ago, and have to say that I love it! I have never had a car buying experience like this, they had a used car that I had been wanting for a long time. I knew that I would take a hit on the trade in, but the sales person, manager and managers manager, all came through for me. Elder, my salesperson was very nice and very knowledgeable. His sales manager and dealership manager managed to help me with my trade in and not take so much of a hit. Also the finance officer and her manager were excellent in working with me and giving me what I wanted and worked with me to lower my payments. Thanks to everyone involved, I was able to get my car a reasonable price. I want to say that genuinely wanted my business because the all made an effort to keep me in the building and gave me a good deal. I enjoyed working with them and even though I had plans that day and felt like I had to leave quickly, they worked with me, and it did not take too long. I am grateful that they helped me and I appreciate it. Alex is the internet sales person who got all of this started for me, so I thank him and Elder and for helping me get this car. Everyone else involved was great as well, but without that first contact, none of this would have been possible.Thanks guys!
Elder Hernandez really took the time to help with finding the right used car. Was really helpful and patient and help keep me sane through the two day process of trading out my old car. Love the 2006 Honda civic coupe that I traded in for. Every one at Russell and Smith was very accommodating and really did treat me like family and didnt not have the pressure and games that other big dealerships tend to have. Made it feel like I was actually being help and not being pressured into a sale.
Worked with Nate Rodriguez yesterday and had a great experience. He showed up early to be there when we arrived and was incredibly patient with us as we went back and forth between models and crunched numbers to meet a tight budget. He knew the vehicles well and did a great job of presenting options without being pushy or growing impatient. Would definitely work with him again!

Jordan helped me purchase my new CX-5 last week and I had a great experience! After inquiring about the car online, Jordan emailed me to see exactly what I was looking for. I ended up setting an appointment for a test drive where she was prepared to answer any questions I had and did a great job highlighting the features of the vehicle. I wasnt ready to purchase that day but Jordan did a great job staying in touch with me without being a pushy car salesman. I ended up purchasing the car a few days later for a great price. I would definitely recommend Russell & Smith Mazda and Jordan!

I recently purchased a new Mazda at Russell and Smith Mazda. I worked with Otto Schnelbach and he was excellent. He was very helpful and easy to work with and answered all my questions thoroughly. He is easy going so there is no pressure on you to buy. He gives you time to think about it and make a decision. He is a great guy and we test drove the car 2 or 3 times. He was patient and kind. I have felt pressured by other sales people at other dealerships, (not Mazda) and didnt experience that with Otto. He does great follow up with you. I highly recommend Russell and Smith Mazda and Otto.
The person you want to talk to about the possibility of buying a car from here is Otto Schnellbacher. It is quite telling how many reviews here have his name mentioned in such positive light. Youll know why when you talk to him. He will guide you through your purchase (or non-purchase) sensibly, calmly, and giving you ample time to carefully consider your thoughts. He understands that you are making a significant investment and that you shouldnt be pressured, you need time and guidance to think things over and that you need to be happy with the purchase and the experience of it.But dont get me wrong, this is a dealership. So when you have to deal with the financial part of it, make sure you do your research thoroughly. A good idea is to find out what the general asking price is on similar cars. Look at year, miles and corresponding cost, and also how long similar cars have been on the market (used cars). That helps with your negotiations.I also have to mention Stephen Rodriguez here for the outstanding work he does there. If you need any work done on your vehicle here, talk to Stephen. Youll find out pretty soon hes a person you can trust with your car and to give you honest advice and recommendations. Talk to him about reliability of the cars youre thinking of buying too. Between Stephen and Otto, your sales and service should be a pleasant experience and I would be mystified if you do not find it so.
Test drove a used Mazda 6. We wanted the car if the sales person could look into a few areas that looked like residual cleaning in the paint, otherwise it was scratches. I felt like I had to convince him I wanted to purchase the car. All his responses seemed like it was a standard sales pitch response. They didn’t ask any questions (ie. who did it drive, did you feel comfortable...), any conversation seemed distant. When I asked questions, I can tell they didn’t know anything about the product - it seemed like they didn’t know anything. All answers seemed like a canned response. I tried to give this dealership some business, but after driving 30 mi to buy a car, I decided they didn’t want me to purchase a vehicle - It was not a great car buying experience. Luckily I went to another location who wanted to sell me a car and it wasn’t a Mazda dealership.
One of the best experiences I’ve had at a car dealership. My sales associate, Salina, was knowledgeable, inviting, and just a joy to work with. (Translation: she was the exact opposite of what your stereotypical car salesperson would be.) I’m beyond satisfied with my purchase (Mazda CX-5 Touring) and will definitely be returning in the future. 5 star customer service!!!

Otto was Certainly one of the best car salesman we have ever had. He was very patient and we definitely felt that the decision to by the car was ours. He wasnt pushy and we never felt rushed or pressured. We actually left the dealership to see another car and came back simply because Otto had treated us so well. He was absolutely the reason we came back. Everyone at the dealership was great but for us Otto is the face of Russell & Smith Mazda.
Review is for service department only. First of all, its a dealership, so yes, its a little bit expensive. However, for items that need to be done at a dealer, they seem very reasonable. Actually charged me less than quoted to have keys and remote cut and programmed and took less time than planned. Courteous staff and very comfortable waiting room. It is a small department, so I highly recommend making an appointment.
I bought a new 2015 Mazda 3 last yesterday at Russell & Smith Mazda. It was a fantastic, easy experience thanks to my salesperson Jaquelyn Moody. She is amazingly helpful, incredibly knowledgeable about the vehicle, and has a great personality. Amanda and Stephen make a great finance team. I had to wait a little bit, but they found me the best possible interest rate. I test drove several other cars at other dealerships before purchasing my Mazda 3. My Mazda 3 wasnt my final test drive, but the car and the team at Russell & Smith were just so much better that I just had to come back. Excellent service and products that I highly recommend to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle.
If you want to get a car, I HIGHLY recommend you get it from Russell and Smith Mazda. I got my first car there and I could never regret it! Upon coming in, I was attended by Luis (I encourage you to ask for him when you get your Mazda). He helped me through the process of choosing my Mazda, buying my Mazda, and still continues to help me with car appointments. The employees are truly honest people and very informative about their cars. Also, Mazdas are great vehicles.
