Let me start saying that Im not a resident at this property. I scheduled a physical tour of the facilities online and it was confirmed right away. Alejandro was extremely attentive and kind showing the property around. Alejandro went far and beyond telling me about all the neighborhood good spots and even confessing on thinking moving back to this property as his residence. The property is well maintained and clean. I think it’s a bit out of budget for me, but I would definitely consider this property as my place to live in the future. Get the opportunity to visit and see it by yourself.
I recently had Kenyah give me a tour at Camden Travis street. I found her very thorough and professional throughout the process. She was able to answer all my questions about different options and amenities within the building. She also had good knowledge of the surrounding area and the types of things that would be close by with the location. Great spot at Camden Travis street!
Camden travis street gave me a wonderful move in experience! The leasing agents made sure to answer all the questions i had, and always addressed every issue immediately. Cant wait to see what more Camden travis street has to offer me!
Camden Travis street is a great place to live. the staff are very helpful and makes sure that all the residents are taken care of. I have received great customer service here at this apartment complex. I came to visit my grandmother and Monica was so helpful. She was very sweet and welcoming. Her service was very outstanding and answered all of my questions. I will definitely recommend Camden Travis Street to everyone.
I am a resident who just moved in about 2 months ago. The car that I have been using while my car is in the shop has been towed TWICE now after I was MISINFORMED not once but TWICE that I did not need a parking pass to park the current car I am using in the parking garage while my car is currently in the shop. Kenyah Brown who is one of the managers of the complex is incredibly RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. She informed me that the public some how has access to park in the DOUBLE GATED parking garage that residents have to use an apps to open the gate. That a tow truck company the apartment complex has NO control of just tows cars in the parking garage and that the complex has no control over this. But I as a resident am PAYING to live in a secure building with SECURE parking that apparently anyone can get into and park (even WITH it being DOUBLE GATED). All of this was after I called the office and was told I did not need a parking pass AFTER the first time I was towed. I will say a lady named Rainy was very kind and helped me the best she could before I had to speak to the manager. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ever living or even consider leasing with Camden on Travis. There is NO communication and they do not take accountability for THEIR miscommunications.
If you are looking for a great professional staff and an awesome location the Camden Travis Street is it. We called for a tour of their one bedrooms with flex space and was scheduled that same day. We should up a little early and Junus, one of the lease agents, immediately took us in and gave us a great tour of the building and apartment. I highly recommend Junus because he listened, was understanding of our moving situation/dates and followed up with us with correct quotes and information frequently. He is by far one of the best property managers I have come by in a long time. The place was very clean, good energy with great customer service and the location and price points are very competitive.
I toured the Camden Travis property this weekend and had a great experience. Alejandro was really helpful and answered all of my questions and concerns. The property is great and has plenty of restaurants and nightlife around. Definitely ask for Alejandro when you go for a tour!
The management will try to take every penny from you whenever possible. They will charge you higher than the market price while renewing and claim that you should be thankful for them for not increasing your rent during the pandemic! They will be nice and friendly when you are moving in but couldnt care less when you are actually living there.
I have lived at Camden Travis Street for over a year and have absolutely no complaints! The leasing office staff is very responsive to requests. Alejandro has always taken well care of anything I have needed and is always so friendly and professional! Keep up the amazing work Camden Travis Street!!
I Have been searching for an apartment since august of 2020, having a hard time deciding but Alejandro has been very attentive and patient with me, I think I might have just made my decision. He wasnt annoying about it but very informative and always checking on me in a professional manner. Dont have reviews on the apartment services themselves but if youre looking for someone that can help. Go to Alejandro !
I have a good experience working with Alejandro for leasing. Friendly, understanding and empathetic are traits I value from a leasing agent and I felt Alejandro is doing a good job. I am currently a resident of Camden midtown. Thanks
Went to tour apartments and Camden Travis with Junus, and he was amazing! So friendly, and helpful with learning about the Houston area. He has an infectious personality that immediately makes you want to move to Travis. You are always in good hands when working him and the rest of the staff.
Alejandro was very informative and sweet. He knew what he was talking about and got me all squared away being that this is the first time i’ve ever lived on my own.
I had the best experience with Camden properties. Junus was the leasing agent who helped me and he was absolutely wonderful. He was patient in answering all of my questions and kind in responding to the information I needed to prepare for my move-in. I would highly recommend this property to others looking to relocate to the Houston area. Thank you Camden!
Monica Johnson helped me throughout my whole process of finding an apartment. As soon as I called, we scheduled a viewing same day. My first viewing was self guided, but Monica game me a personal map with where to go and how to get there. She answered every single question I had, and called to check in on me. Although in the end I decided to select another property, Monica is truly an asset to Camden. If I ever decide to move again, she will be the one I call. Monica if you are reading this, thank you.
At Camden Travis they are a great team who work very hard. Monica and the team are very helpful. Ive been here for over 2 years and not had any issues. The maintenance guys are very professional and dedicated to helping tenants. My only negative is I feel the security of the building itself is less than average. There is a many fixes that need to be made that are inexpensive which would help ease the minds of all the tentants.
The apartments are relatively nice but in a very noisy area with a late night drag racing issue. In addition management gives inconsistent answers regarding community problems, like persistent internet issues and amenities (which are so limited to begin with) that haven’t worked for months. See the attached photos of the community message board for reference. In considering price point, quality of management, and amenities I definitely think there are better options in the neighborhood.
Even though my apartment was beautiful, the management doesnt waste an opportunity to charge more from you than even the market price while renewing. They take advantage of your inconvenience at every given step and try to get as much as possible out of you. All in all, quite disappointing! Something that you do not expect from a brand such as Camden.
First off, I would like to disclose that I am a Camden employee. I’ve lived at Camden Travis Street going on THREE years now, and I am thoroughly enjoying my time here. Given my tenure, I would like to offer some insight on what to expect while living at Camden Travis Street.OFFICE TEAM & APARTMENT COMPLEX: The office and maintenance teams have been very professional. The community is dog friendly and has recently updated their dog run (which my dog loves!), and has many pet waste stations throughout the community. Shout out to Monica and Alejandro for making my rescue pup feel (and me) feel so welcomed. Whenever I submit a maintenance request, I will get a response within 24 hours. The pool & grill area is great for lounging in the spring or summer, you can always find a sunny spot to lay. Most recently, the community had upgraded their gates/locks system – now I can unlock any door from my phone. This has proved to be very useful when letting in food deliveries through apartment gates, letting in guests, dog walkers, etc., and makes opening the parking garage gate easier for a swift entrance/exit.NEIGHBORHOOD: During my residency, the Midtown neighborhood has only gotten better. Travis Street is centrally located and you’ll be able to walk to anything you would ever need within 10 minutes or less. The apartment complex is adjacent to Midtown Park – which has a beautiful greenspace, a fenced in dog park, and is perfect for picnicking or working out. You can easily access downtown as the light rail is less than a 5 minute walk away. If you are looking for grocery stores: we have Randall’s and a recently opened Whole Foods. If you like fine dining: Artisans and Brennan’s is just a few blocks away. Need a few things to decorate your home? High Fashion Home is down the street (their 4th floor has amazing sales!) Pharmacies? We have CVS or Walgreens within a few blocks. Need a full service gym? 24 hour fitness is 3 blocks away, Black Swan Yoga is 2 blocks away, and F45 Training (just opened) is 1 block away. If you are looking for casual dining and nightlife: oh boy, this is your Mecca. The next few bars/restaurants are some of my favorites, but also represent a fraction of what is around here (there’s a lot!): Wooster’s Garden, Holman Drafthouse, Beer Market, Pub Fiction, Jinya, Gen Korean BBQ, Breakfast Klub (the best chicken and waffles), Wanna Bao, Les Givrals (for the amazing banh mi and Vietnamese coffee less than 150 ft away), Pho Saigon, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine, BonChon Fried Chicken, hands down the BEST Spec’s in Houston, and so many more….as mentioned previously, all within < 10 minutes walking. If you are looking for an urban lifestyle and values being close to things, this is it.
I was a resident at Camden Travis from 9/2017 to 1/2021. The following review summarizes my 3.5 year experience as a resident. The good: property is well maintained. The maintenance team is always responsive, courteous, and helpful. Location is wonderful with so many walkable options from food and drinks (2 grocery stores, multiple bars and restaurants) to other services (salons, banks, post offices, etc). The pool is one of the largest apt pools Ive seen, and is always beautiful and pristine. The bad: over 3 years, there were 3+ management changes. With each change, the quality went down. The team that I leased with (Tara and Jason) was amazing and went above and beyond to make their residents happy. The current team does the minimum (except for Junus, whos proactive and highly competent). Someone tried to get into my apartment at midnight once, and I immediately called Camden emergency line to report the issue and gave a description of the person ( I saw through the peephole). The leasing agent refused to provide any info or offer assistance until I filed a police report. The police, upon seeing that there was no sign of forced entry, did not create a report. It wasnt until I sent my move-out notice that someone from the leasing office got back and told me based on the description I provided, it was a drunk neighbor mistaking my apt for his own.The ugly: With great location comes a big issue with noise. The karaoke bar on Milam is home to a drag racing club. Proximity to bars and clubs means there will be people yelling outside your door and triggering car alarms to locate their vehicle at all hours. Apartment walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors easily. There were multiple times when I heard a phone vibrate only to realize it wasnt mine (goes to show how well you can hear through the walls). Whenever my upstairs neighbor closed the balcony door, my wall would shake. I wore earplugs religiously to sleep, and still got woken up on a weekly basis.Due to Covid, apt prices went down in the area. Yet, Camden raised their rents on renewal offers. The team did give me a better rate upon negotiation, but it was still higher than what they subsequently listed my unit on their website. This is largely a corporate pricing issue, and is discouraging to long-term residents.Given my experience, I dont plan to return to Camden Travis, or any other Camden properties in the future.Response to management: Monica, we did discuss my review. I never said that other companies were managing the property. You did change property managers 3+ times (Jason, Randall, Cheryl, and now Kendall) and had multiple employees turnovers. Its not constructive as part of the resolution to pick apart my review and attempt to invalidate it.
RUN! I would recommend that you pick a different property in Midtown. There were multiple car break-ins during the 9 months that we lived at this property. Additionally, this property is located next to a nightclub, so your walls will likely vibrate every Thursday- Sunday night until 2 am. We also experienced many issues with the office staff at Camden Travis Street. They are very nice when you tour the property, but could care less after you move in.
The personnel is absolutely amazing! they make sure you are helped and with such great attitude. The apartments are beautiful inside and out, very modern and comfortable. A large pool and a specious gym is available to all residents which I absolutely love. It is an extremely secure environment and the location could not be any better. The apartment complex is surrounded by many restaurants and recreational facilities for convenience.
I came here to visit my boyfriend the staff here were extremely helpful including Monica. The pool was sparkling and well manicured. definitely would recommend them to anyone looking for a luxurious place that still makes you feel at home!!!!!
Excellent location, very walkable! The apartments are really nice and were so clean upon move in, the cleanest apartment Ive ever moved into. Cleanliness seems to be a big priority with this complex which is really appreciated! The staff is incredibly kind and seem to be very on top of everything! Monica is especially amazing and went way above and beyond to make my move in as smooth as possible, shes an angel!! Maintenance is also on top of it, Jesus is very communicative and kind! Only great things for Camden Travis Street so far!!!
I toured this week at this community and I loved it. It was beautiful and staff was super friendly, and very helpful.
I visited Camden Apartments yesterday. Juan was really helpful and joyful. He walked over all the steps with me and answered all my questions.
Truly is a beautiful property. Very strongly considering transferring my lease here from another Camden property (another awesome property just need to be closer in town). Dropped by for a quick tour after work one day and quite impressed with the staff, everything was so clean and maintained, awesome amenities. Kudos Camden Travis :-)
Best place ever, with amazing customer service! Highly recommend to anyone looking in the Houston area.
JUNUS SIMON was a pleasure to work with when considering moving to this property. My wife and I chose to go with another Camden instead, but JUNUS’ superb customer service had Travis Street as a major runner up. I highly recommend anyone considering moving here to give JUNUS a call. He will give you the type of assistance you need!
My friend did not want to go through moving out of the property due to the pandemic. Camden Travis Street asked for more money than what was on their website/market rate. Truly shows how inconsiderate the management is, especially at times like these. Also, common area sanitizing stations are never refilled whenever I have visited.
Junus was extremely helpful during this time of social distancing. Great video tour and answered all of my questions! This place looks amazing, thank you!
Really a rare treat to come across a staff this talented. I was taken back with how flavorful the vibe and essence of the properties are.
Camden Travis St. was very accommodating with scheduling an appointment time to check out their facility. Then easily rearranged when I was able to come sooner, as I was traveling from out of state. The office staff was very friendly and helped me find the best lease agreement for my move in time and situation. They even gave fun dinner suggestions while I was in town apartment hunting. I truly enjoyed the facility and its office staff and am very excited to soon be resident at Camden Travis St.
I just moved in a couple of weeks ago and I love it so far!!!! All of the staff is super friendly and they work hard to meet your needs and requests. Monica is amazing and really made sure my move-in was as smooth as possible. From what I see so far, they keep the grounds clean and maintained, and it is a safe place to live. I’m excited to call Camden Travis Street my new home!
Property always kept great shape. New manager is super helpful and nice
I visited this property and it was BEAUTIFUL. The team there was Amazing and very nice. I recommend this community to anyone who is looking for a new home! :)
I have been a resident at Camden Travis Street for over 2 years and can honestly say, it has been one of the best places I have ever lived. The maintenance staff and management have gone above and beyond for me on numerous occasions and truly care about all of us here. Amenities are great, pool and neighbors are amazing, and I couldnt have asked for a better location in midtown. I have recently been relocated and it is truly unfortunate that I have to move. I can only hope that my next apartment takes half as good of care of its residents as Adam and his team at Camden Travis Street. I highly recommend this midtown complex.
Nothing but great things to say about this place. The staff really made the experience of choosing an apartment so easy. Nubia was extremely knowledgeable about all of the unites and the entire complex itself. Having her give the tour made me very comfortable about living here. Also, Monica and Cherie were incredibly nice and welcoming throughout the entire process. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a new apartment complex!
Lived here about a month now. I am pretty satisfied with the apartment. The complex is very clean and well maintained.I definitely feel at home.Nubia the leasing rep. who assisted in putting me in my apartment is the sweetest person.
Every 2 weeks several cars are being broken into and they refuse to do anything about it. There is no security whatsoever. They are taking away many amenities, and doing everything to save money. Plenty of new places in midtown that would be a better value.
Best Apartment Complex in Midtown!I have lived her for over 3 years now. I recommend anyone wanting to move to midtown to check out Camden Travis. The staff is always very professional, Monica the assistant Manager will help with any problem that may arise. Rex from Camden is also super helpful. Best part of living here is the great customer service. William Vigil Camdens repair man is super knowledge and always able to solve any problem you may have. Im definitely gonna resign my lease for the 4th time. William Vigil needs a raise. He and the fellow staff make residences feel welcome. 5 STARS, trust me youll want to live here. Just check out the amazing pool
I have loved here 5 years. I am in the process of transferring to a different unit due to a change in family circumstances with COVID. Kenyah and Junus have both gone above and beyond to make this happen as stress free as possible. We recently had fire inspections, which are tricky with so many working from home. These guys had a plan that was minimally disruptive and fast, which was a relief to all of us.The location cant be beat. The grounds are lovely. The only thing on my wish list is a LARGER REFRIGERATOR ... side by side or French door. Im tired of whacking my head and having to sit on a stool to put away groceries. 😊
The amount of car break-ins is astounding. We are told that there is security 24/7 but i have never seen anyone patrolling the site. Camden gives the same response every time a car is broken into. Also they removed the computers from the tech lab stating that since everyone has laptops they can just bring them in.Camden is cutting corners to save money at the expense of the renters. I would never choose another Camden to live in.
I toured this property recently and was extremely impressed! The staff was extremely attentive, welcoming and friendly! I loved the propertys landscaping and how well maintained it was. I was surprised by how close it is to the metro rail, definitely a bonus!! The location is great and I love how close it is to midtowns hotspots!
I have been living at Camden Travis Street about 4 months now and I love it here. The property is beautiful and kept up nicely. If you are looking for a place in Midtown, consider moving here and ask for Treyvian in the front office. He was extremely kind and professional during my apartment search and has continuously been helpful even after moving in. Staff here are very kind general. Amenities here are great, there is plenty parking and the building is very secure for safety.
Great location and very dog friendly! Within walking distance of several restaurants and bars.
BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY! I just visited my son here and the staff is AMAZING. Community is very well mainted!!! Definitely looking forward to returning!!
I have been living here since February and am very happy with my experience here! The staff is all so friendly and very accommodating. They always remember your name and make you feel welcomed. The residents in the community are all very kind, and it is a quiet apartment complex that feels like home even being in the heart of midtown near all the nightlife. The maintenance team is awesome and very courteous. They are very quick to fix things. I did have the A/C go out and it was treated as an emergency and someone was right over to fix it. The dog run is also essential for me. My dog needs to be exercised quite a bit, and the dog run makes it so easy and convenient to play fetch or run him. Its also a great way to meet other residents with pups :)
Moved to Camden Travis about 2 months ago and have loved the experience so far. Office staff is very friendly and they deal with any issues promptly. The pool is amazing and the gym is nice. The apartments have modern appliances and have nice wood floors. Rent is a little high but that is expected for Midtown. Overall, extremely satisfied so far and would recommend to anyone looking for a cool place to live in Midtown.
I moved in to Camden Travis Street about a year ago and I absolutely love it. The community is very pristine and beautiful. You can tell their team truly cares about the upkeep and their residents. Rex, Monica and Nubia are all so nice and eager to help you with whatever it may be. The location is super convenient being within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and parks. Astros, Texans and Rockets games are just a short walk and train ride away. Definitely worth checking this community out if you are looking to move to the Midtown area.
Amazing location and a super friendly staff!! I feel very valued when I have interactions with the staff!
I have had no issues since I moved to Camden Travis Street. If anything the only issue I keep hearing has to do with the internet, but since I am away most of the day by the time I come back its already working. However, I the reason why I decided to make this review is in regards to the maintenance work in particular I want to mention John Rodriguez. I put in the work order around 1:45 and by 2:15 John was already working on it. John was extremely polite and professional and a fast worker. He went in to switch out a bulb that had gone out in the fans that you have to partially disassemble to replace. He was done within 5 minutes. We also brought it to his attention that one of our kitchen lights had fallen. Within five minutes John was back with with two new light fixtures. He replaced the one that had fallen and went ahead and replaced one that he noticed looked older with the newer one. I dont want to say that I was interrupting him work but I did talk to him while he worked and as I previously mentioned he was very polite, professional, and had great conversation. He had nothing but great things to say about Camden Travis Street and the residents that live here. I am not one to make reviews, but I was so satisfied with his work ethic that I decided to write this review because I feel people like John do not receive the recognition for the work that they put in. I know I didnt talk about Camden as much as some would like but I hope a look at how people like John Rodriguez who work for Camden can give some a view that is usually not brought up in reviews.
Moving out is a pain, the company tries to find ways to deduct deposit. Not sure if this is a pandemic cash shortage thing or happens usually too.
Great service! Excellent staff and clean facilities. Rex was an amazing advisor helping us to have a smooth move in and be aware of our adaptation in to the new place. =)
Visiting a friend and not looking to move but I was so impressed with this property that it is now on my list. I had no idea it was so centrally located and it is just the right size for someone who hates overwhelmingly large properties. I ran into one of the office staff while I was with my friend and when I mentioned that the humidity was giving me headaches they went downstairs and came back with tea bags for me. Who does that? I have fallen in love with this complex and the staff. When I get ready to move I know where Im going.
Management is so nice and understanding! I really appreciate it. This is my first time living in Houston and this location is just perfect.
Staff is absolutely amazing and accommodating.
Staff is very friendly, and active. Great location, easy access to Midtown Park. It’s dog friendly having access to a dog run inside the apartment complex. Great place!
Pros:*it is in a convenient location! Walk to the gym, yoga, hair, restaurants, dog park, bars, etc.*Nice pool*Friendly staff*Resident events*Yoga by the pool Sat at 10:00 a.m.*Nice gym*Stainless steel appliances*Dog runCons*Rent goes up a lot each year typically and you dont get anything out of it (and I was told that I had to move out and move back in to get the market rate which was less than my renewal which didnt make any sense to me)*Noise from streets can be bad and people litter lame flyers often on the streets*Camden Plaza and other units has fitness classes nightly not just on Saturday (would be nice to have more options)*Cant make payments via credit card (including renting the club room)*not very secure
Great place to live, and a staff that goes out of their way to meet your expectations.I have lived here for two years, and lived with Camden apartments for four years total, and they are easily the best I have used. The management is always quick to work with you to resolve any issues, and the property in general is incredible.Great location, modern spacious units, very pet friendly, great pool, and an excellent staff of reps and maintenance crew. Definitely recommend.
NOT SAFE. EXPENSIVE. Break ins, stolen cars - happening very often. They are increasing rent every year but doing no improvement. Old management was good but new one simply does not cares.
I am a new resident and I have rented from a few luxury apts in the Houston area but this team is rockstar status. My move in was truly a celebrity experience! They boast of great customer service and they do not disappoint. My apt is pristine, location is so convenient, amenities are gorgeous, and being across from the metrorail is so cool and convenient.
Visited for an apartment tour. Nubia was awesome! She spoke Spanish for my mom who was with me and was very friendly.
I moved into Camden Travis about 3 months ago and so far everything has been great. Every issue I’ve encountered has been dealt with promptly and professionally. The staff is very friendly and seems to know everyone by name. The apartment itself is very nice and so is the pool area. Only downside in my opinion is the cable provider Camden uses (Phonoscope) - I wish they’d switch to AT&T. All in all, it’s a great place to live if you enjoy being in midtown because everything is within walking distance (restaurants, bars, gym, grocery store).
The events for residents are the best! Lots of food, drinks and fun! Great location, easy to get to Texas Medical Center on the light rail! Fun events and great staff.
Very clean and staff is very helpful and attentive. Nubia always goes the extra mile to help residents and their guests!
I went to check out these apartments and met with Troy. When I first called Troy answered and was a bit standoffish and cold. Therefore, from the phone call I felt a bit apprehensive but, he said he had availability in my price range so I decided to go anyway. When I got there he gave me two floor plans he thought would fit my needs. The first apartment he showed was over my budget and he never showed me the 2nd one, although it was available to show. As we toured he stayed quite and volunteered absolutely ZERO information about the community. He didnt even show me the pool or all the amenities the website speaks of. This is unfortunate, luckily there are other Camdens in the area.I decided not to lease here because of the lack of professionalism. If this behavior is indicative of the leasing office attitude then I can only imagine the issues the tenants may have with the staff.
All I can say about these apartments is ABSOLUTE GREATNESS from head management down to janitors number 1 in my eyes
Alejandro was Awesome he made my experience amazing very professional!!!!!!!!!
Love everything about this place. They have the best customer service! Its in a great location!!
Great Place to live if working in midtown/downtown. Easy access to train and bus stations. The valet trash is nice. I havent had any experiences with theft in the parking garage, but other reviewers say otherwise. Overall the place is nice, but a little over priced. Maintenance is quick response and theyer nice guys as well. Pool is nice on weekdays, but can be a little over crowded on the weekends. All my neighbors have been great and surprised with how insulated the place is. Never really have problems with overhearing the neighbors.
Well maintained, friendly staff, great location! I would love to see more art in the hallways.
Perfect Midtown Location, Great Staff, and great value. Walking distance from the metrorail and great bars and restaurants! I would definitely recommend this property
Great place to live. The whole staff is always there to help. Ive been here for 2 more than 2 years and never had any issue. If youre looking for the perfect place in midtown, stop looking.
Cannot say enough nice things about my experience at Camden Travis Street! Throughout my time at the apartment, I never had any problems, but when my apartment flooded due to a freak accident (some burst pipes not caused by weather) the staff was so helpful and wonderful the entire time. They had the opportunity to really screw me over, but they went above and beyond to help me. They communicated with me daily regarding the state of repairs. When it became clear the apartment wouldnt be livable during reconstruction, they offered to let me out of my lease (and pay for movers, return my deposit and give me back my last months rent) or allow me to move to any of their other properties in the mean time. They even got my rug that was soaked during the flooding dry-cleaned. Seriously - you wont be disappointed with the level of customer service at this location. The staff rocks (and thats half the battle with any apartment building).
After getting settled into Camden Travis Street location, all I have so far is positives. Trey has been such a big help in the move in process as well as allowing me to get furniture delivery early. The apartment was clean upon move in and everything has seemed to be functioning. No complaints at all so far! Thanks a lot!Edit: Now that I’ve lived here for 8 months my opinion has changed. Every week or so there is are break ins to cars in the “secure” parking garage. We are told there is 24 hour security and I’ve never seen a guard around the garage. We have never seen any updates on what is actually being done to provide a safer parking garage. Can’t believe I am paying so much for a lack of very simple things.
This is the first time Im writing any review for any apartment complex I have lived so far. Best living experience here out of all the places I have lived. All leasing office personnel here are pretty good in handing your requests and concerns. I would like to acknowledge, Jason, Georgia, Jon, Tera for their excellent service. Any concern and request has been handled within 24 hours, some specific concerns were -- Someone puked and cleaned but it was still there near staircase area - Was taken care of within 1 day- Resident cafes one computer was not working - Was taken care of within 1 day- Apartment complain about AC, sink, fan - Taken care of in 1 dayOther things I like are - gate locks are always working, resident cafe is never out of printer paper, and coffee machines supply is mostly there.Keep up the good work! Thanks,Vish (Current Resident)
The apartment units are nice, but completely overpriced. On top of the already steep rate, they raised our rent by 17% at renewal. The crime level has not improved since the reviews written several years ago. At least once per month we would receive an email about an incident in the building and that we need to watch our surroundings for any suspicious activity. I saw cars on cinder blocks with their tires stolen 4 times, my boyfriends bike rack was ripped off his car in the middle of the day on a weekend, apartments were broken into... but Camden insists that the problem lies with the area and not their complete disregard for security. Interesting, because security was never an issue during our three years at Post. We told them no less than 4 times that replacing the light bulbs on the buildings parapet walls would deter crime. We received lip service about talking to maintenance, but no bulbs were ever installed.Be prepared to be nickel and dimed, as well. For example, if you put your trash out in the valet waste bin before 6 pm that will be $25. Not to mention the $95 cleaning fee at move-out. Dont be fooled, it doesnt cover much. You still need to clean your apartment top-to-bottom and they will still find something to charge you for.The saving grace of this complex is the friendliness of the staff. Non-management level was always wonderful to talk to and provided excellent customer service. Its a shame that their superiors are such a mess.
Great location. Helpful staff!
Good location. Right across the street from Les Givrals
Its great to be in midtown, but thats the only reason to pay so much for the apartment. We pay about 2500 a month on rent and utilities. You could find places with a lot more going on for that price.
The assistant manager cannot answer a yes or no question directly and she hangs up on people mid conversation. The leasing agent had to provide an answer for her, and he is the reason Im giving two stars. Maybe the leasing agent needs to be considered for the management position.
Great service, friendly atmosphere, good quality apartments, right next to midtown park, overall very happy here.
Murphys Corporate Lodging has had multiple furnished apartment units at Camden Travis Street for several years and it continues to be a popular choice for our guests; Ive enjoyed my stay at Camden Travis, the apartment was great and spacious and I loved relaxing by the pool plus the location was so convenient to Downtown and Midtown.
Free WiFi, an awesome gym, a nice swimming pool and a very central area, whats not to like?
From day one of me working with Georgia on my move-in experience it was wonderful. I was treated very kindly and everyone seemed excited about their jobs. I went overseas for a couple weeks and they kept me informed on moving in and the entire process, upon return I was treated basically with a welcome home. Since Ive moved into the property it has been nothing but amazing. I recommend that you make a serious effort to move here. You may meet some amazing staff and residents. -Rashad Kenrossi Davis I
Lived here for two years and as a whole this was a very good place to live.Pros:-Location is excellent for commuting purposes. You can easily get to downtown or med center including by light rail which is a block away.-The rooms themselves are nice and fixtures, appliances, etc. were of good quality and reliable. They also repair problems very quickly.-The staff are excellent. Very responsive, reasonable, and polite, and they truly do try to help you and address problems that come up from time to time. For example, they hired security to address reports of car break-ins in the garage and abuse of the pool area. Like any human beings, they dont have solutions to every problem, but have fixed a number of issues that came up during the time we were there.-It was great to have an on-site gym with decent equipment accessible at all times. We found the gym to be sufficient for regular workouts and didnt have to waste money on the other gyms nearby.-Great pool and grills.-Free coffee and printing at the business center.-Amazon lockers.-Staff put on events resident appreciation events sometimes with pretty good food (for free).Cons:-There are major noise issues if you live on certain sides of the building (particularly the north side near or facing Proof on Dennis street is bad). Proof has rooftop concerts at night that can easily go past 11pm on any night except Monday, often later it seems. They also shine a floodlight late at night toward the north face of the Camden building. The Houston police dont seem to be enforcing the citys noise ordinance (we tried to call several times), so theres not much staff can do about this. Recommend living on Travis Street side (outside) or on the Milam side (outside) in the middle of the building to avoid noise. Noise might be a bit of an issue living on the inside due to pool users which were the subject of complaints while we were there, but we did not live on the inner part of the building so cant say if that still is an issue.-Unfortunately, many of the current Camden Travis residents are terrible neighbors. While we were there, at least one person did not clean up after their dog in the hallways. That issue seemed to be fixed by the time we left but was surprising that someone would suck that bad.-Other issues came up while we were there, but Camden staff seemed to have addressed them reasonably well.
Between weeknight noise from the neighboring club, recurring Internet and water outages, and garage break ins, living here was a disaster. Maintenance and leasing staff were awesome, but the actual building / living experience was horrible.
There seems to be very mixed reviews regarding the Camden Apartments on Travis. I can attest to almost 6 years here, as we were one of the first residents to this complex. Obviously not everything would be roses over the course of 6 years, but overall it has been a good experience otherwise we would have moved. We live on the first pool near the parking garage & pool, and have not experienced the loud noise that many people complain about. We only had one noise issue where the resident above apparently had an infant or toddler was making quite a bit of noise. We called the office and they quickly called the other resident to resolve the issue. Other than that, we hear a few roudey groups from time to time on the weekends, but thats to be expected given the area & resident age range. I would imagine there would be loud music on weekends given the proximity to the bars/clubs. However, it should be common sense to not rent near them or to ask the leasing office if they are any notice issues prior to signing a contract. As far as the parking garage is concerned, we have not experienced any vehicle issues, but we dont leave anything to be seen. We are out of town at least once it twice a month and never have had even a door ding. In addition, any gate malfunctions are typically fixed in a timely manner. However, it seems that they are caused by drivers not knowing how to drive properly, but thats everywhere now. The maintenance in and around the complex is constantly being done. All of our requests are completed within a day or two, and is easy to complete online. The maintenance team is extremely friendly and are always visible cleaning or repairing. We have utilized almost all the amenities (pool, gym, computer room), including the rental of the resident room. We had a fairly large party, and we didnt realize until the manager told us that we had accidentally broke a piece off of a candelabra and our cleaning crew did not clean properly. Instead of keeping our $1000 deposit, Elizabeth, the manager, allowed us to pay their cleaning service to reclean and charged us for the broken candelabra. I have to say she is very cooperative, and if she cant its due to Camdens rules and regulations. Overall the location is perfect for us, the location, the amenities, and the size of the complex. It seems that the larger complexes incur more problems after speaking to several friends at nearby complexes. The only thing that would make it better would be a valet service, but with that comes a higher rate of course and a different level of apartment searches. All of our visitors always compliment our building and apartment, and we plan to stay here until we are ready to leave the area.
CAMDEN TRAVIS APARTMENTSI moved in to the Camden Travis Apartments recently, and I love it. First, the staff has done a lot to accommodate me regarding fees and pet policy. Unlike most places in midtown, they are overall very pet friendly and prorated my pet rent. The two stairwells in the building open directly into enclosed pet areas, which is very convenient. When I signed my lease, management was able to walk me through and set up all my online accounts and bill-paying information at one time. It was so easy and reduced so much stress from the move. Camden discussed any pertinent fees and stipulations up front, so I won’t have any issues with move-out fees (which Ive experienced a lot in the past). A lock box was left for me so I could start very early on my move-in day instead of having to wait until the office opened. Also, they painted an accent wall in the color of my choosing for no charge right before I moved in.A key feature that I love about this place: the bathrooms are GIGANTIC in all the one-bedroom apartments, regardless of overall square-footage, and the washer and dryer are conveniently located there, eliminating the need for an extra laundry basket in the bedroom. There is a lot of storage also, with 4 large drawers and 2 smaller ones that I use for my make up and blowdryer – its very convenient. The closets are huge too, with 5 separate bars to hang clothes on and tons of shelving – I am able to fit all of my clothes and shoes as well as other things into the closet with room to spare. The granite on the counters of the kitchen and bathroom and very spacious, nice and easy to clean; they are shiny and never look dirty. The floors are great too, a reddish-brown wood with a durable glaze coating that is very easy to clean and damage-resistant (great for pets!)The parking garage is not very big, but the complex is a large rectangle that runs along Travis and Milam, and it’s actually very convenient for people to park on the street and access one of the side entrances to get to your particular apartment. The pool is beautiful and stylish with cabanas and lounging chairs in the water, and I have not had a problem with it being too crowded – its perfect most of the time. There is also a friendly security guard present on the property at most times to help you or let you in if you are a resident and accidentally get stranded outside.Particularly, Jon Aguilar works very hard to ensure that residents are happy and dealt with in a timely manner. He has personally expedited any maintenance issues I have had and always gets back to me quickly about any concerns I have. The overall friendly demeanor of the staff, the tolerant pet atmosphere and the peace of mind I’ve gained from living here is invaluable. I received a welcome package with cups, candy and other amenities when I moved in, and I feel like I am at home. Also, you can’t beat the location – its excellent, and I don’t have any problems with noise from bars and clubs even though they are very close.Camden Travis makes its residents a priority, and they often throw parties and happy hour events at clubs that involve other Camden properties as well. If you are looking for a friendly place that does a lot of social networking, then Camden Travis is the place to be.
Really enjoy the location and the staff at Camden Travis! So easy to go to the Texas Medical Center by the light rail!
I hate to leave! Ive lived here now for 9 months and its truly been a great experience and no one asked me to write this review. Georgia and Jason are excellent in the office, they really do a great job and its amazing to live somewhere where the staff doesnt turn over. The maintenance guys are so friendly and truly care about the property and again, no turnover from what I can tell. The apartments are nice, clean and spacious, easy to maintain and the gym facility and community rooms are awesome. Location is great, easy to hit 45N, I10, 59 and 288. Any issues you bring to the attention of management, they make every reasonable effort to fix and follow up. Noise is an issue for sure, college students are partiers and they can be a pain if youre a working professional bc the walls are somewhat thin and my neighbors have blasted music all hours of the night before, keeping me awake on work nights. However, the courtesy police are responsive, some residents are just young.I chose to live where my apartment faces the street (Travis) thinking the pool would be loud but I was not expective the noise from the street. Major drunks clearing out the bars and clubs at 2:30 am screaming outside my window Thurs - Sunday and they trash and bottles all over the grass. Apartment living in midtown...it is what it is.Im not a fan of the mandatory cable/internet which isnt too great and 80 bucks a month. Valet trash is another 35 bucks, mandatory and only come 5 out of 7 nights a week so Im really not getting my monies worth for the expense. But...there is a reason for the valet trash because some resident are pigs and for that we have flies. Camden does a great job and really tries to control this issue, in winter theyre gone but spring theyre back, but so long as there is trash, there are fruit flies. No escaping it. Again, I can tell that Camden takes measures to keep them at a minimum. No other issues at all with pests, water and pest control are separate expenses too you pay on top of rent.Security has NEVER been an issue for me here and when warranted the property does add extra when its needed for events and should the property need an increased presence. But, overall my experience here has been excellent. Im really going to miss it. Again the cons are typical of apartment living especially in the Midtown area but the pros of the location and staff, grounds and amenities outweigh the cons any day.
Not too many bad things to say about the apartment. I ended up breaking my lease though because I found out I was expecting a baby boy and honestly this is not a family oriented apartment building. Very geared towards the young professional.Pros:-I work in downtown and took metro rail to work every day-Good quality apartment and no real maintenance issues ever-Lots of fun community events thrown like wine nights, Pappasitos nights, brunch, etc-Management is all really nice and really helpful-I never had a notice of any crime on the property and never heard of any crimes eitherCons:-I lived on 1st level off Travis Street and noise was ridiculous almost every day because of 5th Amendment and Proof Bar being so close-Bums walking the streets alot but I never had an issue-Little to no wall insulation- I had an upstairs neighbor who was maybe around 100 lbs but he sounded like 400 lbs stomping around up there all the time and I can only blame bad wall insulation on something like this and not the guy. Noise was so bad too that I would wake up a lot at night
Amazing people!!!!! will always work with you if something happens!! safe!! and friendly environment as well.
Every weekend drunks out by the pool will make an insane amount of noise throughout the night. The courtesy officer will advise them to leave, but is usually ignored.Youre locked into Phonoscope for internet, which if you havent heard of it thats probably a good thing. 250$ a month gets you gigabit internet, or 50$ a month gets you regular internet, and either way it cuts out for at least 15-30 minutes on a daily basis during after work hours.*Update* Shortly after this review (within hours) staff contacted me about changing the policy at the pool. They detailed plans to heighten the fence so access could not be achieved as easily at night*Update after response from owner* We have decided to move out due to the noise as the plans posted above were cancelled. Because the apartments are claiming they did their best to contain the noise, they are not willing to break the lease. We had to pay ~4000$ to get out and our rent is under 1500$. They had also not charged us for having pets yet, until we gave our cancellation notice. They told us to pay an 800$ fee on top of the 4000$ and an extra 400$ deposit if we wanted to keep the pets for the last two weeks we are living there. Got a pet sitter instead, but it seems petty.TL;DR- The appartments are nice, the staff is friendly, but the living conditions are hellish. The only reason it has above a 2.5 on here is because they constantly have giveaways which you can only enter if you have left a good review on here. It would be better to drive an hour and get to sleep at night than to be walking distance from downtown and go to work tired every day.
Moved in from out of town, was nervous about signing sight unseen, but I am very happy with the place
I highly recommend you to rent elsewhere. Worst apartment experience possible.(1) My roommate and I worked 80-100 hours a week during the one summer we were there. We knew we would only be there for three months so we didnt move any furniture into the apartment except for a memory foam mattress topper, an ironing board and an air matress. They charged us $258 for a full reprinting because of scuffs caused by furniture.(2) It is October 22nd and I moved out August 10th. Ive been trying to get a package delivered near move-out date and have left voice mails, sent seven (thats not a typo... 7) emails, etc., with NO REPLY. Its been months and they have not replied.(3) In a matter of 4 weeks there were 4 car burglaries. They wont tell you this until you move in and then you see members complaining on the member forums. I still remember walking out to my car one day to see a nice Chevy silvarado sitting on cinder blocks because the wheels were stolen.(4) Valet Trash Services Provided. Except for the fact that our trash was not taken out for three weeks. A three week period and they did not pick up our trash which fully abided by all of their rules. This is not a safe community, not an honest or ethical community and not a quality community. Live somewhere else.
I lived at Camden Travis for 15 months and it has been a rocky experience.First off, the location is pretty swell. Its just outside of downtown, so if you work in downtown the commute is a breeze. However, be ready to deal with the weekend. They can be loud as the streets take on club goers and drunks. The actual apartments seem highly priced for the square footage, compared to other complexes that are closer. The interiors have high ceilings, wood floors, and granite counter tops. Each unit has a built-in washer/dryer, which is convenient. The complex offer valet trash service, which you pay, but dont think too highly of it. If your trash is not in a securely sealed bag it will not get picked up. Also, make sure to flatten all your boxes.Management and staff are decent. Theyre trained to have smiles and a clam voice in all situations, regardless of whether they were helpful. Their ability to fix problems can be sub par at best. For luxury style apartments, you would think keeping the renter happy would be their top priority. If youve thought about what cable/internet provider you want, throw that out the window as youre stuck with Phonoscope. Without a choice in the matter, youll get some decent channels with terrible internet service. Their overpriced plans make me wonder if we really are in 2014. Other companies offer cheaper prices for faster plans than Phonoscope. Management informed me that there is nothing they can do about the terrible speeds except to pay more to upgrade to their 12Mbs down. (They have been announcing that theyre getting Fiber since late November, yet they still dont offer it.)Your neighbors are a fifty-fifty chance. You have a combination of young adults who act like theyre still in college dorms, single adults, and families. Because of this there are quite a few douches that could care less about the property or others. Exterior doors are often left wide open for any random stranger to just walk into the complex. The garage itself is a catastrophe. Residents love to speed down the ramp, drifting into the corners like theyre about to beat their best time. It also seems that parking is harder than rocket science. People will take up two spots for no other reason than to be a douche or park outside the lines. I dont think management wants to deal with towing, even though there are countless tow trucks always readily available outside, as they have never towed a vehicle. Residents also enjoy parking in the VISITOR ONLY lot on the ground floor. I suggest they just take off the visitor only signs and allow residents to park in that area. You will also see vehicles entering through the exit gate, random vehicles that may or may not be residents follow behind someone who buzzed in or just wait for a car to open the gate. In my experience, security has been sub par. In the last 4 months of living there there have been 4 car break ins, one vehicle was stolen, and two had their tires taken and left on cinder blocks. One final note, they just announced that as of August 1,2015 they will NO LONGER be accepting packages at the Camden Travis Street office. Theyve notified UPS, FedEx, and USPS. As they mentioned in their letter: for your convenience, youll package retrieval locations along with their office hours closest to Camden Travis Street. So unless youre home, be prepared to drive to the base office of these delivery services.TLDR: If you want to live just outside of downtown with high rates, terrible cable provider, douche neighbors, and lack of security, then Camden Travis is for you.Their idea of luxury apartments must have low standards, since I was able to find an apartment that offers a bit more square footage than what I had at Camden for $300 less. The ability to choose my own internet provider, case work that wasnt from ikea, and a real downtown view. Not to mention that security is much enforced, multiple cameras on every level of the garage, access key needed to enter at every level.
Great office staff and location! been here 2 months and no issues so far, looking forward to my first summer here
