This was our second trip with Captain Shay. He knows the waters and puts you on fish!! The best part is his great personality. He provided our son an amazing birthday and a fish of a lifetime!!! The perfect captain for young or old, experienced or inexperienced- you will not be disappointed. He exceeded our expectations both trips!! We are already planning our next trip back!!!

A friend and I took 3 of our kids out with the hopes of catching some sharks. Captain Shay put us on a spot that we were pulling in a fish as fast as we could get the lines back in the ocean. With 3 kids 12 and under sometimes it’s hard to keep them all happy but all 3 absolutely loved the trip and said it was their favorite part of our vacation! I highly recommend Captain Shay! Our next trip we will definitely be booking a longer trip!

Hands down best part of our stay at Hilton Head. First Family vacation and only extra activity we did. Anglers in our hometown we were excited to go fishing before we left. We did a 3 hour trip with 2 eager 12 year old boys an 8 year old girl myself and husband. Captain Shay was very patient very knowledgeable and even knew a couple dolphins that set the trip over the top for all of us. We caught sharks mostly we werent out there to catch monsters but if we did Captain Shay would have known exactly where to go! Would reccomend for anyone wanting a private and personalized experience!!!

Captain Shay provided and experience my two boys and I will always remember! My 7 and 5 year old love the idea of fishing, but none of us know what we’re doing - but with Captain Shay, no worries!! He was great to communicate with prior to our trip, was on time and fully prepared to help us create memories. We had cooler temps and rain, but that didn’t stop us. In our 3 hour in-shore charter, Captain put us in position to reel the fish in (19 of them to be exact...black drum, red drum, pinfish, seabass). Oh, and we saw some dolphins while out and about, as well. If we find ourselves in Hilton Head again, we will give Captain Shay a call.

My family of 5 went fishing with Captain Shay today and had a blast! We caught tons of sharks and all 3 of my kids had a chance to reel one in! He was great with the kids and made our trip super enjoyable! Would book with Captain Shay again definitely.

Another exciting adventure with Captain Shay! We caught more sharks than we could even take pictures of and an unexpected ray. We will definitely book every year with man! Trust him and you will not be disappointed!

We had a blast fishing today with Captain Shay. He put us on the fish and was patient & personable. The “dolphin at the dock” was an added bonus.

10/17/2020 First off I’d like to say that Captain Shay can put you on fish, no questions asked. The guy can fish. On top of that he’s very friendly. Being someone who fishes a lot, and has been on a ton of Charters. This Charter isn’t the one. Why? First off, the Captain showed up an hour and 8 minutes late, He strolled in like it was nothing, it took 3 phone calls to get ahold of him. On top of that, for a fishing charter he was VERY unprepared. We spent the first hour and a half of our trip, watching him cast a small cast net to catch Live bait. Which most Charters have ready before you show up. Once we reached our spot, he threw out 4 poles in the back, gave us 2 individual poles for 4 people. most charters everyone has a pole. Finally, we hooked a big one! Only to find out the reel was broke. His equipment is outdated, rusty, and overall nasty. While hooked onto a big Ray, he slipped what looked like a pool noodle on a pole for comfort. During this big fight, the thing slipped off into the water. Which 20-30 minutes of our fishing time was spent, driving around to find this. YALL I KID YOU NOT, 5 HOURS ON THE WATER. 1 HOUR AND 47 MINUTES WERE ACTUALLY SPENT FISHING, THIS IS RIDICULOUS. ESPECIALLY FOR $600.Would I recommend this for a absolute beginner?Yes, so you can learn what’s it’s like to catch bait fish and see the whole process while having a friendly captain.Would I recommend this to anyone who’s at least touched a pole.NO, AS SIMPLE AS THAT.As I have seen his comments on others reviews, I hope he can be professional in this one. I’m sure we will get bashed in a review, for How we were the “worst people he’s ever been a captain for”Best of luck Capt. Shay! I hope this can help.

Capt Shay is very knowledgeable about the shark hot spots. Put us on em quick. He was fun to hang with and talk to. Would def recommend to anyone looking for a great experience!

We booked a fishing tour with Captain Shay this week and 4 of os went out for a 4 hour trip. Only 2 of us fished and Shay offered some trtaining and had the boat fully stocked with bait, reels and all needed items. We caught a lot of trout and Shay was great about letting us know what fish were keepers and which ones had to go back. The boat was clean and ready for us upon arrival. We paid a flat rate for the trip instrad of a per person charge.
