This was our very first sailing experience. For me, I wanted to see dolphins. My partner wanted to actually help sail. We both got exactly what we wanted and more. Captain Paul and Kevin were great hosts. They patiently answered all of our questions and educated us about the surroundings, great white sharks, and the dolphins. We saw quite a few dolphins, which was amazing, and Captain Paul always turned down the engine and allowed us to hover nearby them to truly enjoy their beauty. Kevin kept us laughing with his one-liners and always made sure we had what we needed to enjoy the afternoon out. It was a little windier than we might have liked, but Captain Paul was very communicative about the conditions and what to expect. I would highly recommend them and plan on coming back to do it again next time we’re in town.

Our family had an exceptional experience on our sunset sailing adventure. Captain Paul and First Mate Trent did an excellent job making the trip fun and safe for our family including 3 young children. We will definitely sail with them again on our next trip to Hilton Head.

Trent was our guide and he did an amazing job. He was great with my kids who range from 13-2. We got too see several dolphins and he was very knowledgeable about the area as well as it’s history.

Another great adventure with captain Paul. His high safety standards and attention to detail are the only way to charter. Our children loved it and we all enjoyed his first mate, Kevin. Even without much wind all three of our children, ages 14-20, said our time on board was their favorite part of our vacation. We will sail with them again.

This was such a great experience! My partner and I were able to enjoy an afternoon sail just us two, which was perfect. The price was reasonable for the experience and whats included. Everyone we interacted with was kind and helpful. Although we didnt have much wind for a full sail experience, the captain and crew were chatty and made sure we had a great time. They took lots of pictures for us, which was appreciated. Id highly recommend!

Our group of six can’t stop talking about what a perfect night we had watching the sunset and dolphins aboard this lovely sailboat. Paul and Kevin were the best hosts on this beautiful evening of sailing in Hilton Head. They both made us feel so comfortable and welcome, and they encouraged us to explore different areas of the boat to get the full experience. A couple of us even had a chance to help with the sailing. Definitely worth every penny spent.

We used Anchors Away Sailing Charters for a 2 1/2 hour excursion over Labor Day weekend. We decided to book with Anchors Away to get a personal one-on-one experience and to eliminate the fear of being around a group of strangers on a larger boat who might be sick with Covid. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Captain Paul and his beautiful boat Knot the Office. It was our first time on a sail boat and we learned a lot - but didnt have to lift a finger. The boat is immaculate and was the perfect size for our group of 4. Captain Paul and his first mate are personable and very knowledgeable about the boat and about the island. A great time was had by all. We own a vacation home on Hilton Head and look forward to treating our family and friends to many other trips with Anchors Away.

Captain Paul and his first mate, Debra(Deborah?) were very knowledgeable about the area we sailed in. We loved chatting with them about the sharks and dolphins. Yes, we saw a couple of dolphins! The vessel was spot on clean and tidy. We felt super comfortable and trusting of Captain Paul and Debra. Debra was our photographer for the night, which I so appreciated because I’m usually the one taking all the pics on our vacations~ the next time we’re in Hilton Head we will FOR SURE go out with these two again! We love, love, LOVED IT!

Wow! Just spent a couple hours out with Captain Paul and First Mate Kevin. My family and I had a great time. They were friendly, knowledgeable and made us all feel very safe. We had a splendid two hour private boat trip with Captain Paul and the First Mate Kevin. Not only did they sail the vessel, but they both shared information about the area, the animals and their unique characters and habitats. We saw wonderful dolphins, brown pelicans, loons, and learned many new things the entire trip. We relaxed in comfortable cushioned seats in the bow and were provided with water and donut holes!! Some girlfriends and I were visiting Hilton Head for the week and wanted to book a boat excursion, we were so lucky to find Anchors Away Sailing Charters! We opted for a weeknight sunset cruise and were really impressed by the whole experience. The captain and crew (Paul & Kevin) were both very friendly and knew a lot about the island, so we learned a lot while having a lot of fun. We were given the option to be as involved or uninvolved in the sailing process as we wanted which makes it a great option if you want to learn about sailing or just relax and unwind (we opted for wine & unwind). We were on a girl’s vacation and planned a sunset sail with Paul and his crew. It was a beautiful evening and it was great learning about areas we sailed in and some of the history of Hilton Head island. Paul is a very experienced sailor and I’d highly recommend taking the cruise while on vacation.

Our trip was absolutely awesome! Highly recommend!! On our cruise Paul and Kevin were fantastic, making us feel so comfortable. The boat was great too: clean, spacious, and well taken care of. We saw a ton of dolphins, got some good sailing in, and learned a lot about the island. 100% would do the trip again!

We booked the afternoon tour, but since there was no wind, they called and told us ahead of time and we rescheduled for the sunset cruise. My husband booked a surprise sail for our 10 year anniversary. Paul was responsive leading up to our reservation and flexible due to weather. We were able to relax, but also had the chance to learn a lot about the island and wildlife. The sailing experience was second to none and the dolphins were the cherry on top. Excellent experience and crew. Not much wind that day (not their fault!!), but with extra effort they did get both sails up several times for a bit which was excellent. My wife LOVES dolphins and the captain overheard so we “magically” saw quite a few dolphins. She was elated with quite a few great pictures up close. Absolutely HIGHLY recommend. Top notch operation that will let you do all of the work/fun, sit back and relax, or anything in between.

I wish I could give this 10/5 stars. Do not pass this by!! My sister and I sailed with Captain Paul and Kevin on the private sunset sail. The wind wasn’t cooperating with us, but they did everything they could to show us a great time, including opening the sails for the few minutes they could. They didn’t have to do that, but they insisted. Their boat is beautiful and clean. Their service is above and beyond. Their knowledge of the surrounding area was great and it was delivered conversationally, which made it feel like we were sailing with friends. I can’t recommend this company enough. The experience was worth every penny.

We had a party of 4 adults in February & spontaneously we decided to seek out a sail opportunity...Paul was a gem, returned our call within 15minutes, he was very informative for the sail...2.5hr, 65 degrees & sunny, beautiful, prestine condition of a sailboat, 1st mate Kevin very knowledgeable, attentive & made the sail so enjoyable! We booked a sunset sail for the night of 7/23 with anchors away. Captain Paul met as at the dock and took us about his lovely sailboat. He was very cordial and professional and he had a bottle of chilled champagne waiting for my wife and i (it was our one year wedding anniversary). Captain Paul did a great job of navigating us around and maximizing our sunset views. He let us drive the boat and answered all of our silly sailing questions. It was a great time. Would recommend to anyone.

We were 3 couples who had a terrific sunset sail on Oct 1st 2020 with Captain Paul and his First Mate Deb. They took great care of us and we had a terrific time. Lots of room to move about their spacious keel boat and you can bring your own beverages and snacks. Highly recommend it!

My mother and I had a very special evening with Anchors Away! They gave us several options for our sunset sail based on weather and our preferences. They were also great with re-scheduling during our stay to avoid sailing in a storm. Capitan and crew shared great stories about the island and we were even able to spot some wildlife. Just did the mid afternoon cruise with Paul and his crew on Anchors Away and we had a great time with our family of 5. His Catalina 36 is a beautiful, well maintained and comfortable sailing vessel. Paul and his mate, Kevin are extremely friendly and hospitable and after about a 15 minute motor through the channel where we saw dolphins swimming, we got right to the fun of sailing. This is a great trip in Hilton Head if you want to get on the water and really enjoy actual sailing on a monohull boat. It was nice that it is a private charter especially with the current environmental situation. Paul will let you take the helm and help with the jib sheets if you want which is also fun. We all had a most enjoyable afternoon and the trip was well worth the money and I would highly recommend.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the morning sail with Captain Paul! He greeted us with donuts for the kids, and there were plenty of sodas and waters as well. We’ve gone on fishing & crab charters before, but this was our first time sailing. The kids were able to trim the sails and steer, and we all learned quite a bit! The experience was perfect for us, and I think anyone would have a great time. Definitely recommended!

Anchors Away Sunset Sail - A spectacular experience! Our family enjoyed an amazing private sunset cruise with Anchors Away Sailing and Captain Paul! We were beyond impressed with the entire experience and learned a lot about sailing and was welcomed to participate in raising the sails, steering, etc. Captain Paul had a bottle of champagne on ice for us and as many soft drinks and waters for my family. Captain Paul and his first mate, Jude took photos of our family throughout and didnt charge us like other local sailing charters do in Hilton Head. Even though this was a private sail on a beautiful yacht, the cost for our family of 5 was the same as the public charters with 18 people. I HIGHLY recommend this experience, it was the highlight of our vacation at Hilton Head Island and well be returning again next year!

Absolutely had a blast. Paul and his first mate, Jude, were very professional and very comfortable to be around. We had some weather cut our trip short (safety first), but Paul gave us a refund for the time we didnt get. The wind was excellent and we did see a couple of dolphins, but he cant control that. I think booking two sessions would be better because even though we didnt get the full 2.5 hours, I dont think it would have been enough. The time flies if you have good wind.Thanks Paul and Jude!

My husband and I had an amazing experience with Anchors Away! We were on our honeymoon and we could not of asked for a better time. We enjoyed a private 2.5 hr sailing afternoon with Captain Paul. We had so much fun, sailing was an absolute blast at the 15-45 degree angles, the sites were GORGEOUS, and captain Paul also helped ensure our one guest prone to sea sickness was 100% covered! Our trip with Captain Paul and Daniel was excellent! Have been on other sailing trips and this was by far the best. Large sail boat with shady spots to sit, water and sodas provided and great conversation. It was a smooth ride but also exciting! I truly enjoyed my time sailing with Captain Paul. It was the middle of February and we still saw dolphins several times throughout the afternoon. The sailboat itself was well maintained and worked well. I found it comfortable and easy to maneuver around on the boat. It was great to be able to have a smooth sail without a motor running the entire time, which other companies have done. I give it two thumbs up.

Captain Paul, the boat’s owner, and crewman James provided our family with a wonderful afternoon run on the waters around Hilton Head Island . We had perfect sunny and windy conditions, and it was immediately apparent that we were in good hands. Maneuvering that sailboat (which was super clean and in great shape) in and out of that marina with a notable current could not have been easy, but they made it look so. Once out on the open water, we had the option to help as much or as little as we wanted, and took advantage of both. We enjoyed sun on the deck, then cranked or released sail lines to adjust to the wind. We didn’t capsize so I must have done well enough😎 We sometimes experienced the tranquil sounds of sailing- the air, the flapping sails, the water, yet had plenty of good conversation about the boat, the island, the conditions, and about our lives. The good stuff. I had never been sailing before, but I’d definitely do this again!

We went out sailing with Anchors Away about a month ago or so. I was worried it would be too much for me to take. I explained my concerns to the Captain before we even left the dock and he told us not to worry, he said he could let the sails out and slow the boat down so it was more of a comfortable ride for us. They were great, they did what the said they would and the Captain and helper continued to ask me if I was comfortable or not. By the end of the trip I wanted to go faster. Had a great time, beautiful boat, knowledgeable crew, got to see several dolphins and I would definitely do it againThanks guys!

Sailing with Captain Paul was very fun. The boat was clean and comfortable. There is something about moving across the water without the noise of an engine that makes me smile and I dont know of a better way to watch the sunset. Captain Paul is very knowledgeable, so I enjoyed asking questions and helping with the sails. It was pretty cool to see some dolphins too.

My family and I enjoyed an evening sailing with Paul. It was so much fun. It is one of the best ways to see the low country and we saw dolphins! Paul made it interactive for our family and we cant wait to go again.

This was an absolutely AMAZING sailing trip! Everyone in my family enjoyed the entire time on the sail boat. The boat was clean and spacious. Captain Paul was wonderful to talk to and knowledgable. I would highly recommend for any family or group wanting to get out on the water. Will even be planning another trip with them for a bachelorette. FIVE STARS!!

What an amazing afternoon! This was our second time out with Captain Paul and it was, again, a great experience. The boat is clean, well maintained and Capt Paul equally professional and personable. An afternoon sailing around HHI will be the highlight of your vacation.
