Our original reservation was scheduled on a day with rain and wind. Staff was very flexible and let us choose when to rebook during our stay, even allowing us to check each day if necessary. They confirmed weather looked good for rescheduled date. The boat was clean and in great condition, looked exactly like the photos advertised. Seats were very comfortable, everything worked as it should. GPS kept us where we needed to be in the channel. We rented for 3 hours which was plenty of time to get out to Daufuskie area and saw tons of dolphins. They jumped and played and gave us quite a show. We did not have to hurry at all. Briefing on how to drive was quick and at the right level, including where the safety equipment was. A beautiful outing on the water, would do this again next visit. Note - gas is not included (they will estimate this for you, and it was exact), which is indicated on the reservation, and there are keep out areas for safety, also mentioned during the reservation process and the training before departure.

Another fantastic day in the luxury pontoon! Hilton Head Island Boat Rentals is where to go when you want a day on the water! Adam was super helpful getting our boat ready to go and helping to guide us back in. The entire team is friendly and accommodating from start to finish. Our guests were extremely impressed with how comfortable, spacious and clean the pontoon was. We are already looking forward to next time!

We packed our lunch, got the kids ready to go for our long anticipated boat rental when the phone rang. It was Hilton Head Boat Rentals calling to tell us the boat was broken. Disappointed would hardly describe our feelings.It was pretty obvious they had waited til the last moment to let us know, hoping we would accept a lesser option and not allowing us the opportunity to make arrangements elsewhere. When I expressed my disappointment, the woman suggested I should try living in a third world country so I could appreciate “how lucky you are just to be in Hilton Head”.Maybe they will have you a boat, maybe they won’t, but don’t count on it.

There were a total of 4 adults and 2 children for our 2 hour excursion. The staff was extremely helpful in the check-in process as well as safety and instruction. Children must wear life jackets at all times. The drive must have the lanyard around your right hand when piloting the vessel.They GPS also includes a depth finder as well as charts for navigating. Following the green line will take you safely from the marina to Calibogue Sound. No issues whatsoever. They check us in early. For 2 hrs, the fuel charge was $35. We only used 13% of fuel during the entire trip. It starts as 100%.

I can’t tell you what a wonderful memory was made yesterday! We rented a pontoon boat for the first time. It couldn’t have been a better experience. Sean our attendant prior to our departure was patient and very informative. He made us feel very comfortable taking this beautiful boat to Daufuskie Island and have a wonderful lunch. When we made our reservation for a pontoon boat, we weren’t aware that we had to drive the boat ourselves. It wasn’t until we reviewed the orientation video that we came to that realization. None of us had driven a pontoon before so the idea of having to do so was a bit nerve wrecking. However, the gentleman on the dock gave very clear instructions on how to operate the boat and navigate the water. It was pretty easy and we really enjoyed the experience.Thanks Hilton Head Boat Rentals for making our family vacation a memorable one!

We had the time of our lives. We recently rented a boat through Hilton Head Boat Rentals and have to say this company is top notch. Their boats are new and clean, have cover from the sun, have gps nav of the waterways and ran so smooth. The dock hands were very thorough with instruction which made it easy for us once we got out on the water. Leaving from Shelter Cove is amazing. It has a nice meandering creek (with many pods of dolphins) and some beautiful scenery before you make it to the south end of the island. I highly recommend renting from these guys, you will have an amazing experience.

I was so impressed with the attention and detail that the staff provided. I am an individual relearning to walk and they made the whole experience a breeze! Cindy was FABULOUS!!!!!

We went to the location to see what availability they had and they were able to schedule us the same day. Customer service was top-notch and the pontoon boat was clean and nice. We had 8 people total including 4 kids and it was a great time for everyone. Would highly recommend.

Ok, I have to be honest. These guys would have gotten a single star had it not been for one of the managers, Preston, who stepped to the plate and offered a satisfactory solution to an otherwise not great rental (22 Hurricane). Our boat had the following issues and probably should not even have gone out: 1) Broken fuel guage 2) extremely loose steering 3) throttle that wouldnt hold 4) depth guage that would freeze 5) GPS that failed several times 6) engine that flooded the passenger compartment with gas fumes in spite of a strong wind on the water. (also, a half broken key in the ignition that could have snapped). When the four hour trip was over no one at the kiosk would listen or take note (Im just a third party; its not my responsibility). Preston - the only one - accepted responsibility for the condition of the boat and worked out acceptable compensation. Kudos, Preston.

Super quick in and out, friendly service, lots of fun. We enjoyed boating to Daufuskie island and golf carting around!

Awesome experience! Staff was extremely kind and helpful!Since it was extremely windy (I have never seen it so rough) they told us if it was too rough, just to turn around and we could go another day. We went for it anyway, and had a blast!We rented the “luxury pontoon” which was a Bennington tri-toon model with a 150 Yamaha outboard. Boat was spotless with chaise lounge chairs at front and rear. GARMIN GPS and Bluetooth audio was awesome.Although we couldn’t go very fast (due to extremely rough water) I did find a flat area to open her up and she topped out at 35 MPH. Not bad for a pontoon!!Best part yet, it didn’t have 1-800-RENT-ME plastered on the side! 👍🤣

Boat was in good condition but the phone charger port didnt work and was corroded, only one speaker worked for sound system. Signs inside the boat saying tips appreciated are tacky. I was very disappointed to have an additional $20 additional gasoline charge upon return. I must have missed it in the fine print. I think fuel should be included for a $300/2 hour rental in my opinion.

4 of us rented the new luxury pontoon boat. Took it out to the Lighthouse and back. Saw. Lot of dolphins along the way. Great craft for cruising. Cindy and her staff were great in explaining everything.

Shelter Cove Marina boat rental was a phenomenal experience and so unforgettable. Definitely an experience for the books. We booked for my best friends 30th birthday and we had a blast, the rental was for 3 hours, next time we will book more time because as soon as the party started we had to head back down shore. But all in all the boat was extremely classy, the seats were plush leather and very spacious. The boat seated 12 but it was only 6 of us so we could maintain social distancing. We had a beautiful time, we saw dolphins on our journey. Also the staff was really nice and gave a great orientation to be sure we could drive the boat. The deck man, Sean was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed before we left the dock. And he was waiting on us when we returned. He even helped us with our boatload of Snacks and beverages. Everything was nice.

Hands down best pontoon boat rental in Hilton Head!

My family and I had a great time. We did the 2 hour rental and went to Harbour pointe light house and back. We saw lots of dolphins! Mostly cruised at no wake speed which consumes all your rental time due to posted No Wakes Zones and shallow waters. Only a few spots you can actually go fast. We brought our own food on the boat and had dinner on the boat which was nice. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Definitely recommend!

Much funner than expected and worth the money

Wish there was a higher rating than five stars. Contacted Hilton head boat rentals about renting a boat. I have in my near future, the thought of buying a boat. Not having much boarding experience it was suggested that I contact a rental company and try to rent a boat to see if it was something that I’d really be interested in. I sent an email and immediately received a response from Captain Justin. Captain Justin told me he offered 101 classes where he would take you on the boat and basically show you whatever you thought you needed to know. Having had very limited boating experience I jumped at the opportunity. How lucky I was to have captain Justin as my instructor. He answered all my questions. Talk to me about the boat. The water. Safety. Being situationally aware of your surroundings. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. I got on the boat that afternoon with very limited knowledge and got off the boat later that afternoon having a good grasp on what it would take to own a boat and drive it safely.Captain Justin comes highly recommended by me.

We rented a brand new pontoon boat with a 150 horsepower engine. Very clean.The staff in the ship store as well as the deck crew were all very helpful.We would definitely return.

The live wells on the sea fox dont work. I asked several times about the wells being operational before I reserved the boat and I was reassured each time they worked fine. We go to pick up the boat and the captain says those old things havent worked for at least six months. So a bit of miss-communication. They discounted my overall fee for the mishap, but Id rather the wells work. Everything else about the boat was fine. Id rent from them again.

We rented the 22ft Hurricane Fun Deck for 4 hours. We had a fantastic time!! We maneuvered the waterways and saw so many dolphins, one jumping within a few feet of our boat. Three of us even jumped in the water with them! We docked at Broad Creek to pick up a take out order, went back out into the water to eat and swim so more! Definitely on the to do list next time we’re in Hilton Head!!

Our family had fun on the boat. It was a great option given Covid and we didnt want to be on a crowded public boat. Our only complaint would be the cleanliness of the boat. The trash ( which was supposed to be the hold tank for any fish caught) was filled with trash and disgusting. The small table for the bench seating was also dirty with food crumbs. We had to wipe the boat down ourselves when we got on. Other than that, we enjoyed the ride!

When we walked down to the boat the first thing I noticed was the seats were all ripped up. When we go on the boat everything else seemed to be working fine. This is until we took off from the dock. Once we were underway we could not hook up to the radio because the screen was not working or was full of moisture so you could not see it. Once we got out into the waterway around HHI and we pushed the throttle down I noticed that it did not stay engaged. So while you are driving you had to constantly hold down the throttle or the boat would just slow down or stop. This was the worst part having to stand there the entire time with one hand holding it down.As we started to cruise around and show our out of town friends the beautiful area around Hilton Head I received a text saying turn around you are heading the wrong direction and are going out of bounds. Mind you we were never told there was a play area we had to stay in. If you know the area we were over by Skull Creek Boathouse which is just right around the bend from where you leave shelter cove.The best part of the day is when we got back and after paying $460 for three hours on a broken boat they told us that they had to access the gas charge. I assumed that was included and ended up paying 40 extra at the end.I wold not rent from them again and i will discourage anyone else from doing the same. This is a huge waste of money and you can see that they do not reinvest anything into the upkeep of their boats. Save your money and rent from someone else or just hire a charter Captain to take you around.

We recently book a boat rental and really enjoyed our time on the water. We rented the luxury pontoon boat that seats 11. Not too over priced, but did not include refueling. We were able to bring our cooler for food and drinks. Life jackets were provided. Trying to find a parking spot could be the worst during busy times or peak season. The staff (dock hands and captains) were nice. If we did a private class prior to sailing with the captain would be a charge of $250.00 for 2 hours. Go online and take a test with DNR/BoatEd for $40.00 and you get your boating license for SC.

The best way to experience the beauty of Hilton Head Island, Broad Creek and Dafuski Island. This was the second time we rented a 22 foot boat for 5-6 people for an afternoon on the water. The boats are in great condition, the staff is incredibly kind and helpful and the experience is gorgeous views. We saw dolphins, great marshes and more. Enjoy and rent from HH Boat Rentals!

My family rented a pontoon boat for my daughter bday. From the moment we booked the reservation the service was impeccable! When we arrived there was no parking available near the marina. Sebra offered to drive us on they’re golf cart( I mean just so sweet). The men at the marina going over the safety precautions were so helpful. The boat was beautiful and we enjoyed every minute. When we finished having a wonderful time Sebra drove us back to our car. We definitely recommend anyone booking with them and we’ll be back. Thank you for helping us celebrate our daughter bday!
