We had an amazing time! Our tour was 2-3:30pm time slot and it seemed like that was the PERFECT time for the dolphins. Our guide was fantastic. I have wanted to see dolphins in their natural habitat for a long time. My husband and Dolphin Seafari made that happen on June 29, 2021. We went on a 1:00 pm cruise and spotted our first dolphins within the first couple of minutes. We were able to watch them play as they came up out of the water. Our guide, Frances, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Tim, the captain, kept his eyes on the water and stopped the boat whenever dolphins were spotted. The boat was covered so we were in the shade the whole time. It was a pontoon boat so it was very stable.

Our trip with Frances was awesome! She loved interacting with all the kids on the tour and called each by name. Our 1.5 year old had fun walking up and down the boat; it is definitely safe for children. We saw several dolphins right away and our observant captain noticed some manatee which was a cool surprise. We did the morning tour (with donuts!) so the temperature was great.

Went at 9am for dolphin searching and had so much fun! We saw a couple of dolphins! Debra was a great first mate and knew so much info about the dolphins as well as the island life! Brought along our in-laws as well as our 2 small children (2years old & 5 months)

This was a nice boat ride with several views of a few dolphins surfacing for a few seconds on and off throughout the ride. We were lucky to get great weather and it was a pretty smooth and comfortable ride. Sara was a great Narator and our captain James was also great

Frances was our tour guide and she was fantastic. Her knowledge is extensive and she was highly engaging! She really catered to the audience including the children on our tour. Frances made the tour fun for everyone and she had fantastic recommendations on the local area as well. I cannot recommend Dolphin Seafari enough - it was fantastic and worth every penny. We did the Dolphin and Donuts tour which was enjoyable and allowed us to have snacks during the trip. I would recommend that instead of the Dunkin they partner with a local donut shop (maybe The Purple Cow) in the future. Aside from that, everything exceeded expectations and supporting a small, local business was fantastic. We saw multiple dolphins and different wildlife along the way - all which we were quickly provided insight and information on. Very fun and educational.

We were on Kaylas first solo trip, and she was great! Super knowledgeable, beautiful day, lovely weather... unfortunately we only saw one dolphin briefly and the crab trap was empty! Turned into a bird watching tour, but we saw beautiful snowy egrets, herons, opsprey and even an anhinga. Kayla shared a ton of information, was friendly and personable, and interesting despite a lack of dolphins!

We had a great evening trip (6:30 to 8) and everything went amazing. Alex pointed out not only tons of dolphins, but birds and other wildlife around too. Alex and Capt. Vern were informative and sociable, always making sure to address every question that came about while still pointing out facts about dolphins and other species of animals. They were a great crew to be around,, and Id recommend doing this tour 100%

My family had a great experience on Dolphin Seafari. Our tour guide Deborah was very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about Hilton Head Island, its geography and history, and specifically about the dolphins and other sea animals we encountered on our trip, like a manatee. The captain was great as well; he was always pointing out dolphins so we didnt miss any. This is a great tour for kids (mine are 7 and 11) and very educational. The boat ride itself was pleasant and enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

Great tour! Friendly staff. Unfortunately, we ran a few minutes late because of parking and they called us, gave directions, and waited. We were so thankful!They found the dolphins and really entertained our crew of ages 9 through 76! Absolutely great for kids.

Our dolphin tour was the highlight of our trip! Our 11 month old daughter had the best time. We were worried before the tour if she would enjoy it, if it would be worth it, if it would be safe for her, etc. She had a blast! The tour guide was very nice and kid friendly! She took the time to ask the names of all the kids on the boat and then personally talked to each kid at some point during the tour. We saw lots of dolphins and had a wonderful time!

We went on a 2 hour dolphin cruise with Alex and Jason on 8/24. The tour was great and Alex is a fantastic tour guide. She is very informative and really made the trip special. The boat is comfortable and clean. Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience, laid back, comfortable, friendly and personal. We did the Dolphins and Donuts morning tour and the knowledge of the wildlife and the area shared by guide Deborah was relevant and interesting. We felt so welcome and appreciated. There were a lot of tired, whining kids on board this particular morning, our 5-year old included. Deborah was a master at patience and understanding and getting their attention. This was our 8-year olds birthday and Deborah and Capt Jason made her feel special and had all the passengers sing to her. Thanks for this great experience, just the right amount of time, especially for children.

I went in the dolphin tour and it was so much fun. We saw lots of dolphins, some really cool birds, and even got to see and touch some crabs. It was so much fun and I 10/10 recommend it to anyone and everyone

We had a wonderful experience with a knowledgeable tour guide, Francis. Good with the children, fun personality, great stories and info, warm and friendly but not overbearing. Not only did we see dolphins galore, and many birds that day, but she even pulled a cannonball jellyfish out of the water with a net for the children to touch and hold if they wanted. We would definitely use this company for another excursion.

Captain Tim and Deb were great. Interactive with guests and we learned a lot about dolphins,crabs and Hilton Head. Enjoyed the boat ride and sightseeing! We will do it again!

This boat was perfectly on time. Staff at the kiosk was super helpful. Our tour guide was Alex and captain was Vern. They made an amazing team providing a great amount of information and answering all the questions. We were able to see a decent amount of dolphins. Loved the addition of the blue crab. That was my 2 year olds favorite part! (Additionally my 2 year old left her stuffed animal on the boat.. we called and staff was super helpful to get it back for us!) Will recommend to anyone visiting HHI.

Great trip and saw lots of dolphins ! Learned lots about dolphins too!However, if advertised as accessible need to invest in a ramp to assure power wheelchair access during all tides. Especially when communicated via email and phone several times before the trip! Thanks for making it work out today .

Worth the money. Saw dolphins, learned about the area, kids got to steer the boat. They sell some water and snacks for a dollar cash. Lots of room on the boat. Go early to beat the heat, and the dolphins seemed more active in the morning.

Deb was able to answer our questions and provide entertaining stories and taught us a lot about the area in that 90 min! Excellent value for our money. Tim the captain made sure we saw plenty of dolphins. I would recommend using this tour company

We were able to get a Dolphin Cruise tour the same day at Shelter Cove. The captain and the tour guide were very knowledgeable about the area and dolphin locations. They even knew the dolphins by name and were able to take us to the best locations. We saw several dolphins! The rapport was good and they made sure everyone in the boat felt comfortable. We even travelled with our 9 month old. It is supposed to be a small locally owned business. I recommended this company!

We were looking at several different tours like this and decided upon this one. We definitely made the right decision!!!! Took us several different locations and we saw several dolphins!!! Captain was able to get very close so we got some great views and some great pictures as well. Deborah was very cheerful and informative and not only talked to us about the dolphins but told us some other interesting facts about the island. Pointed out several other points of interest on our way to the dolphins. Definitely made the right choice and we will be back again.

Our dolphins and donut experience was fantastic! We were greeted by our friendly tour guide for small meet and greet before loading onto the boat. Once everyone was loaded on the boat, the Captain made the recommendation that we all grab a donut before take off. It was a tremendous idea from the Captain. They had three dozen assorted donuts. I went with the traditional donut with chocolate frosting. Donuts were surprisingly fresh. They had iced & hot coffee on board. Also, they had juices and water. I went with the hot coffee. It was a fantastic cup of coffee. Once we got off port, Frances started her presentation of fun Hilton Head facts. About five minutes away from port, I decided to grab another donut. This time I snagged a traditional glazed donut. I have to remind y’all donuts are complementary and can have a many as desired. Once we got past the no wake zone, we got into dolphin territory. There is nothing like seeing a dolphin jump out of the water. That got me so excited I decided to grab another donut. I went with the old fashion donut and I dunked it in my coffee. Their coffee paired well with the traditional donut. Our tour guide was very informed about the dolphins that reside in the Hilton Head Island. We had a dolphin swim underneath the boat. Since the donuts were complementary, I grabbed a pumpkin donut. It was great since it was that time of the year for fall flavors. I paired this donut with an ice coffee. Great decision on my part. Once we saw a a bunch of dolphins, we headed back to port. For the boat ride back, I grabbed a donut. I went with a maple frosted donut with sprinkles. What caught my attention was halloween themed colored sprinkles. Very festive donut. In conclusion, this was an awesome adventure and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hilton Head Island.

We did the dolphin and mermaid tour. My kids really loved it and have talked about it for 2 days now. Great information about local wildlife, very friendly staff who were great with kids.

I was a passenger today . I was very impressed with the professional way that the captain and his crew handled themselves. When we spotted dolphins they did their best to make sure that we were able to to spend some time in the area where the dolphins were. It was definitely worth the time and money.

Beth was very helpful with my reservation & parking info. The boat crew was Great! The boat was comfortable & quaint. Deborah was a wonderful guide & very knowledgeable. The experience was enjoyable however we didn’t ever get very close to the dolphins, so you only saw parts of them briefly. I was hoping to see them swim by or near the boat so you could see their whole body swimming. The crew was very accommodating even though a toddler that needed to take a nap, screamed for 30 minutes before we docked 🥵

The Captain and First Mate Alex were awesome! Alex was extremely educated and familiar with the local eco system as well as a pleuthera of information on dolphins and crabs. The Captain was quick to point out the dorsal Finns above the water. To include, mammas and there calves. They were very entertaining. The boat was clean and plenty of seating. I would highly recommend!

Wonderful few hours out on the water. So informative about dolphins and about the local area. Did not feel canned. Diane was great and took the time to answer all of our questions. Captain Tim was super too. A must for anyone visiting or a local that wants to see where they live from the water.

The tour was awesome. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the views were incredible.

The owners were extremely rude and dont know how to be polite to their customers. Our family received the nastiest attitude from this place. We had to switch times due to the lightning/thunder in the area and were told we were the inconvenience to them despite us trying to give them business. I never was treated so poorly in Hilton Head. Both the man and woman that scheduled the times were who we dealt with. Having gotten laid off from our jobs due to Covid-19, they werent grateful for our business during this pandemic. Moreover, this place is more expensive than all the other Dolphin boat tours in Hilton Head. DONT come to this place unless youre ready for a very nasty attitude and a more overpriced tour compared to the other Dolphin tours on Hilton Head. Do yourself a favor and go to the other Dolphin tours in the area.

Captain Tim & Deborah make an excellent team. The Captain is an incredible mariner, navigating the waters perfectly, while Deborah is a walking encyclopedia! She spewed out little known facts about so much, including local area history, the wildlife habitat, and (of course) dolphins like it was second nature. Any question she was asked, she knew the answers immediately! We were truly impressed. I, along with my children ages 8-18 learned so much on this adventure, and it was truly worth the fare.

Great people, really care about your stay!

We took our family of 4, including two kids under 5, on the donuts and dolphins tour. Absolutely great. Very informative and relaxing cruise. Captain Vern did a great job with a smooth boat ride, and first mate Deborah was awesome! The kids also loved the treasure chest.

Deborah and Capt. Vern were great on our trip. We saw dolphins within the first 10 minutes of the trip and even got the chance to see a mama with her baby dolphin. Deborah gave us great information and spoke with each kid one on one and made sure they were able to come to the front of the boat to see the dolphins.

Diane who was our tour guide on the water was extremely knowledgeable very lovely person. We saw dolphins right away. Plus some interaction with crabbing which was catch and release education. An incredible amount of species of birds too. Pelicans Spoonbills, various Egrets just wow! Also had a little info about the oyster beds and seagrass too. This tour was very educational. The cycle of ocean life💙

This place is great! I have never posted a review, but needed to with the great experience we had. Michelle, our tour guide, and Captain Tim were great. She made us feel so welcomed and was great with the little ones. Saw many dolphins and they took their time to make sure we all got pictures and saw them clearly. This was a great experience with Captain Tim and top mate Deb. Deb was very informative about the area, she was just awesome. it was a little over an hour and a half and we saw lots of dolphins. The boat had a restroom on it and it was covered to keep the sun off you. Only $30.00 and it was well worth it. Cant wait to do it again .

We had a wonderful time. We have 3 kids(6,4,1) and the crew welcomed them and their curiosity. Our one year old got cranky during the trip and Deb played with our son and brought out toys. They were very relaxed with the kids and let them move about and go to the front of the boat for a better view. Deb was very informative and could tell she really enjoys what she does. We saw about 7 dolphins, different kinds of birds and with the crab demonstration saw both Blue and Stone crab. She let the kids touch both and explained their anatomy. We were educated on the local wildlife and their anatomy and habitat, Hilton Heads eco system, boat docks and storage, and were given info on Daufuskie Island and ferry.

We learned more about marine life and salt marshes than we ever expected! WOW, our guide, Debbie, delivered Dolphin facts, coastal eco facts, history and more with passion, enthusiasm, and joy! These folks are all so friendly and knowledgeable that as part time locals, we won’t be taking guests anywhere else! And the Captain and boat owner made sure we saw dolphins too! They went out as far as possible to where he knew they would be, and they were. They graciously answered all questions and time flew by. Great ride! Thank you.

My parents booked this for us all this spring and we found lots of dolphins which was nice but the customer service is bad. The lady at check in was grumpy and somewhat mean. The captain was texting most of the trip and hardly said a word. Next year we will try another dolphin company at Shelter Cover.
