Day 2 04/24 discovered mold throughout the dining room ceiling below the master bath. Leasing manager walked in day before we took possession and said nothing about mold on the ceiling.Day 1 04/23 moving into our townhouse rental. Carpets and walls are stained and dirty. All walls are checked and damaged. Former leasing manager promised unit would be painted. That is not the case. Told to identify everything on move in list and SLT would consider.
Maria treated us rudely and disrespectfully. Has not responded to a single email or text message and has yet to provide us with keys, codes or full access to our $1500.00 per month rental property. Our insurance agent that set us up in the property has also been treated rudely and ignored by SLT Properties. Dont rent through SLT Properties! Once your check clears you no longer matter to theseProfessionals. I recommend Marathon properties in Greensboro for professional and courteous service. As for your response, blaming the tenants for not doing enough to get the service and attention they deserve seems to be a common tactic in your complaint responses, going back for years. And the fact that our numerous phone calls, emails and text messages have been completely ignored for weeks, yet you replied so quickly to my negative review only proves my point, and shows exactly where your priorities lie.Does SLT Properties receive(and ignore) so many complaints that you cant keep track of whos reporting them? Based on the numerous other reviews I have read going back over 4 years, SLT Properties, and specifically Maria have a long history of rude, unresponsive and unprofessional business practices, all quite similar to my review. Yet the problem still persists years later, while SLT Properties Management still feigns ignorance to the origins of said complaints to avoid culpability. If SLT Properties truly cared about their tenants issues more than their reputation they would have remedied our issues weeks ago and avoided yet another negative review of the same old problems. And I hope that the homeowners that are entrusting SLT Properties with managing their investment homes are reading these reviews so they can be informed as to how poorly their tenants are being treated behind the scenes.
SLT Properties has been great to work with!! I have 3 properties that they manage for me. When I started looking for a property management company 7 months ago in the Greensboro area, I called several companies and SLT Properties was the only one that answered the phone. I spoke to Wanda and she was friendly and helpful. I scheduled a time to meet her in the office to learn more about what services they could offer me. After the meeting, I got started with the company and Wanda introduced me to the team Maria and Noreen. I am happy to say that I would highly recommend this company to manage your properties. The ladies in the office are great and have been friendly when ever I call in there for help.
They are a great company. The communication is one of their strongest suits which was most important to me during my transition. The ladies at the office are courteous and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend giving them a call!
For the past several years, I have dealt with SLT Property Management company and it has been a win/win for me, the landlord, and my tenants. Denniss guidance, patience, and advice have been, and continue to be invaluable in my decision making process. SLT is a keeper!
Maria was wonderful with showing the home to walking us step by step with getting everything completed. Maria is a wonderful sweet person and we are grateful for having her.
Months to repair issues while erroneously charging late fees on rent that was paid in advance.
SLT management did a great job in marketing my property and matching it with just the right tenant. Their thoroughness and professionalism made for a great experience for both me and my tenants. I highly recommend SLT services to deliver what they do best.
Great experience and easy to work with! Would def recommend!
I have several properties that have been managed by SLT Properties for 6 years and they have been doing an excellent job for me. I will continue to use them as they are courteous and professional. I would highly recommend using them to anyone who has rental properties.
Great company to go to if you are looking to rent a property or have a property you would like them to manage for you!
Great value
Very hard to get in contact with anyone. The employees are rarely in office. Very unprofessional and take forever to respond to emails and/or calls. They have the potential to be great, but their lack of communication skills and the lack of variety of rental homes is why I gave them one star as well. Great to work with at first, but again very hard to get in contact with them even if you have full deposit ready. Their fees are low compared to other property management companies, but save yourself the trouble and I highly recommend anyone to choose another company other than SLT.
Renters beware. Communication at SLT is almost non-existent. You will speak to Donna one day, Denis another day, and a third male the next. Of my dealings with these people, I’ve come to realize that neither of them speak to each other. The last straw came today when I was informed my deposit will be mailed within 30 days, when i was previously told within a week. When I asked where is my deposit being mailed, I was told “ I don’t know, Donna handles all that, but she’s currently out for medical reasons.” Of course this still did not answer my question and address the location where my deposit would be sent. After asking again, The gentleman responded repeatedly with “it will be sent within 30 days.” He later proceeded to antagonize me by stating, “what part of that don’t you understand? Do you need me to write it down.?” I left the office not knowing where my deposit will be sent because office personnel refused to do their job and find out, or atleast attempt to get my information to forward to the correct person. As I left I informed the older gentleman that I would be leaving a google review based on my treatment. The response I received was “Do that and I’m coming after you boy!” That is the treatment you will get when dealing with this incompetent group of individuals.
This company should be closed. Every person, with the exception of, Norene, is rude and lacks customer service. I would not recommend them to a single person for ANYTHING. I will be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau.
I have had wonderful interactions with the office staff. This is a very professional company that takes pride in all they do! Thank you guys!
Poor management and will never deal with this company. No respect to client and it should go out of business. Not recommend to anyone.
Wow! Im very surprised of all the bad reviews on SLT. Im so glad I didnt saw them when renting because we have had a great experience with them especially with Steve. This is our 2nd year renting from them and we are very pleased. We had some issues with the a/c, focets, toilets, but they responded the same day. They would send someone the same day or the next day the latest. I wish more people wouldl post their good reviews because is really a good company to deal with.
❌✖☠☡☣Horrible people to deal with, they didnt do anything they said they would do & the properties that waa given to me the day I threw away $50 were either stuff that was for rent 6 to 8 months ago or was even given some that were never for rent to begin with. This place is a rip off dont waste your time & especially not your money unless you just have it to throw away cause you would be better off to juat do that then have to deal with this place at all. 🚫👎🖓🛇
This firm is professional and does and exactly what they say they are going to do in a timely manner. I highly recommend.
They have the potential to be a great company but there is no leadership and that creates even more problems. Over the last year I have worked with 4 different people at SLT. It seems that once you get use to working with one person they switch it up and you are working with a new employee. When the tenant moved into my condo the tenant signed a lease saying the carpets would be professionally cleaned before they moved out. One year later when the lease was up and the tenant was moving I was told he didnt clean the carpets because SLT told him when he signed the lease that he didnt need to do that even though it clearly says in the lease they are to be cleaned. When I questioned SLT about that part of the lease they told me that I was correct that it was in the lease and they didnt know why they were told they didnt need to clean them but they cant do anything about it. Because the agent Im working with now is not the one I signed the lease with they have no idea what the tenant was told and are unwilling to honor the signed lease. After speaking with the owner of the company I was told that they cant force them to clean the carpets no matter what lease says so its my problem and not theirs. Their fees are low compared to other property management companies in the area but there is a reason for this. Its worth the extra money monthly to find someone other than SLT.
Very helpful. Very responsive.
Ive been renting from SLT Properties for about a year and so far they have been very friendly and responsive to any requests I have had. I would highly recommend them.
Havent rented with them yet, but was a potential. Not anymore. Receptionist or whomever the lady was that answers phone was very impolite, impatient ( as a person working in customer service positions it should be your duty to match your customers pace), she hung up on my husband which was VERY rude. Please learn to be professional, whether youre having a good day or bad day.Thank you.
SLT Properties is a property management business, and they are the connecting link between tenants and landlords. Sometimes it was hard to get in contact with the management at SLT Properties. We had consistent problems with our property. There was always the option of dealing directly with the landlord, William Fennell, but he was usually rude when it came to getting our issues resolved. However, the SLT Properties staff were usually calm and courteous when dealing with me, which was nice because I know there were several times that I was a bit heated about the situation and didnt handle myself tactfully. Dinah was my favorite manager with whom to confer. In the end, most of the issues with the property were a result of the landlord, William Fennell (also known as Billy), cutting corners and being unwilling to pay for repairs. It seems that SLT Properties cannot force landlords to make repairs, except maybe under extreme/dire circumstances (I am unsure about that though). Although the issues with the property that we experienced were pretty serious and unlike anything we have ever dealt with in other leasing situations, it just wasnt quite severe enough to force action. On our last contact with SLT Properties (during the final walk-through), the property managers stated they would not manage the landlords properties in the future, which made us happy to hear. They also refunded our ENTIRE deposit, INCLUDING our pet deposit, which they were not obligated to do. I really appreciated that, because it made me feel better about all the stress of the living situation. Bottom line: DO NOT RENT FROM WILLIAM FENNELL! We had mold issues from a water heater problem that took FOREVER to fix because Mr. Fennell wanted to have his friend (not a professional) make repairs. He also had this friend show up at our house unannounced/unscheduled once. When our kitchen floor (around the water heater) started to deteriorate, he had his friend come and nail down plywood over the linoleum—this plywood was splintery so we couldnt walk barefoot in our own kitchen and the floor was hard to keep clean. It was also really embarrassing to entertain guests in our awful-looking home. Not only that, but it didnt seem to actually fix the safety issue at all (we were constantly worried our floor would eventually cave in).In the last week of our lease, Mr. Fennell arrived on our property when we were not home and locked the shed in the backyard, preventing us from accessing our personal belongings (we were permitted access to use the shed, and he kept some of his own items in the shed for the entire duration of our lease ... we should have charged him a storage fee for that). Overall, Mr. Fennell was completely unprofessional in every possible sense—it would be too much to elaborate further here (I hit the main points), especially since my review is already quite lengthy and there was just problem after problem.I rated 4/5 and not full rank because of the difficulty of getting in contact with SLT Properties at times, but I think they are working to get better on that. I would have given 4.5/5 if possible. They seem to be short-staffed or have one or two staff members that are unreliable, but also seem to be attempting to make some changes. It was also somewhat inconvenient that rent payments couldnt be made online; we had to come to the office (which was across town from our property, about a 25 minute drive) to drop off a check. However, they were always flexible and the one time we dropped our check off on the night of the 5th, they still chose not to charge us a late fee. SLT Properties also managed to get us reduced rent for two months and out of our lease a bit early, which we did appreciate. All of the other negatives in this review are a result of William Fennell, not SLT Properties. I think I would at least consider renting from SLT Properties again in the future if they had other rental properties that interested me, because the managers there were actually quite friendly even to someone as abrasive as me.
Awful interactions with the woman in the office. Would never recommend anyone to visit this office or use their services.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY!!! They are do not respect their clients. I used them for two years and when I told the owner I was using another company. The owner yelled at me and said he did me a favor.
