I made an appointment online and left a note that we suspected a gas leak at my stove. The first technician that showed up did not have the tool needed to check for the gas leak so he scheduled another appointment. I was charged full price for this visit even though the technician was unprepared. The second technician did have the tool and found a leak in the gas line connecting to the stove. He said I had to hire a plumber to fix the leak. I was charged again, but this time a smaller charge. I dont understand why they would send a technician that cannot make a simple connection to the stove - one that would be required if I was purchasing a new stove. I ended up making the repair myself. I tried to call their customer service and it was awful - either the call dropped or I was hung up on multiple times and every rep I talked to gave me a different story. I want my money back - I will never call Sears service again. To make matters worse, I am not sure if I was even talking to Sears as they would answer the phone as A&E Factory Service. When asked who I was talking to the stated Sears Home Service...I am trying to figure out where to file my Better Business Bureau complaint...

Sears repair services is the worst thing ever. They wasted so much of my time, and never even repaired my exercise bike, over the course of three MONTHS! I dealt with technician no-shows, and repeated failure to follow up, so each time I had to use at least half an hour to call their terrible call center and tell the story to 2-3 people that kept transferring me, before someone would eventually say they were “escalating” my case to that someone would call me within 72 hours. And then of course that never happened. On the third round of that, I got a call two weeks later saying my part was unavailable (funny, it had been in stock and ordered two months prior, and shipped to the technician’s house for some reason) and the repair could not be completed. No mention of any refund for the service OR the $37 part, and no number to call.Also, out of the 8-10 that I spoke with trying to get something to happen or get some kind of update, only 1 of those people said anything like “I’m sorry this has happened”.Don’t waste your valuable time!

I waited all day Monday 5/3 for a technician. I was given a window from 8-5pm. I checked in via phone and the online chat feature several times during the day. I even continued to check in with an online agent after 5pm. I was told that the technician would  be arriving. The technician did not arrive, I did not receive a call that they would not be arriving. I received an email the next day that my service appointment had been changed to Friday 5/7. No one called to make sure that was a good day or etc. I called  customer service to get the appointment moved to an earlier day of the week. I was given an appointment of 5/5 with the same window of 8-5pm.I received a text around 8:30 that the technician was on the way. Moments later I received a text that the appointment had been canceled because no one was home. There was someone at the residence all day 5/3 and 5/5. There was no call made to my cell phone by the technician either day. An email was sent with a picture of my front door to verify that no one was home but no call was made to double check. I called customer service to have the technician sent back. I was given a window of 3:07=4:37. I waited until 4:30 to reach back out to the online agent. I was told that the appointment was canceled because the technician called and there was no answer. I have never received a call from a technician. I provided two numbers and neither was used. I was also asked to pre=pay when I called to have a technician sent back on 5/5. Why would I prepay for services that had at the time already failed to show twice? Also, there is an option to pay the technician so why was there even a push to get a pre=paymnet? My theory is that all parties involved were well aware that the technician was over booked or etc and would not be able to come until 5/7 even though I had been given other times in an attempt to satisfy my displeasure from poor customer  service. If I had prepaid, I would be locked into waiting and playing this very unprofessional game of back and forth.I selected Sears for my diagnostic repair because of the companys long history of great customer service. I am very disappointed and frustrated with this situation. If the technician had found that the dryer needed to be replaced versus repaired I also would have been looking to purchase an appliance. I will not recommend this service to anyone I come into contact with.

So i scheduled to have my washer checked. they said they would be here between 1-5 PM. i took off work. i also had another appointment at 5:45 so when they werent here by 5:15 i called them. They said he is running late but he will defiantly be there. So i called and canceled my appointment for 5:45. Of course charged for a late cancellation but my problem right. So at 6:10 i get a call from the tech now he is not coming and he will have to reschedule i know things can happen. so i called the office to tell them what happen one guy just transferred me to someone else because he did not want to talk to me i was nice but agitated. then i was transferred again and one more time. i asked if they could do anything to help me with the price of the service because of how they messed up my whole day they said no. i made a sarcastic remark not being overly rude or yelling. i said OK you have a nice day and she did not respond say bye or im am sorry for the inconvenience or anything and would not respond i understand i made a sarcastic remark but cant even say sorry bye. awesome customer service guys. if your time is worth anything try somewhere else

Extremely quick response when I initially called and I only had to wait a week for part and rescheduled installation.. Both techs were very courteous and knowledgeable. Stove is working now. Keeping my fingers crossed that relay controller was the problem (bottom oven not cycling back on, losing too much heat and recently, reaching 400 degrees then shutting down, with 12:00 flashing).

June 6th - Requested appointment for Riding Mower repair. Diagnostic appointment set for June 16th.June 16th - Repairman was nice and here at a reasonable time (only reason they receive 1 star). Diagnosed that my mower needed a battery, carburetor, & new blades. $600+ total. No other options in my area so I paid and scheduled the repair for June 25th. While here, the repairman installed a new battery.June 20th - Carburetor and new blades arrived in the mail.June 25th - Waited from 8am to 5pm for the repairman - NO SHOW - NO CALL. Chatted with support online and they said all the parts had not arrived (the battery was missing that the repairman already installed) and someone would call me within 48 hours.June 30th - (108 hours later) I called their customer service line to be told the same thing. The battery has not been delivered so we cannot schedule repairs. Just to emphasize - THE BATTERY WAS INSTALLED 2 WEEKS AGO. Once I finally asked them to just cancel the battery, they cant get to my house to do the repairs until July 11th.This is absolute MADNESS. It will be over 4 weeks from the time I scheduled the initial appointment until the repairs are actually done. I can only hope that the repairs actually fix my mower. DO NOT EVER use Sears Home Services. I will never buy anything from Sears again and you shouldnt either.

Had to wait 3.5 weeks to get an appointment to have front wheel bushings replaced and to address another issue. Too long to wait so I purchased new bushings and installed them myself. I expected that the technician would provide me with another set of bushing that I could keep for replacement later on. He said he couldnt unless HE INSTALLED them. Not completely satisfied.

Superior knowledge of the tractor mower and a great attitude. Identified the issue, made sure that he had the full picture, and then fixed everything (explaining along the way when I asked questions). Very thorough. He made sure that everything was checked out and worked before leaving.Very pleasant gentleman in addition to being very competent. He had mentioned that he had been fixing mowers for Sears for many years after having come over from K-Mart when the two firms merged. You are fortunate to have a technician of his caliber with such long tenure with your organization.

The end product was very good. Our repair technician, Robert was top notch. He diagnosed and repaired the problem within an hour of arrival. The problem comes with the promised arrival window versus the actual arrival time. We committed to an arrival window of 8:00 am to 12 noon. Our technician called as promised prior to arrival at 1:00 pm and stated that he would arrive at around 2:30 to 3:00 pm. I went on line and looked up my appointment with my appointment number and discovered that even though my arrival window was 8 to 12 noon, my actual arrival time would be 2 to 4 pm. My confirmation that I printed off when I called in to set up the appointment said arrival window was 8 to 12 pm, so I dont understand why there would even be an arrival window since there is a totally different arrival time??? Just doesnt make any sense to me. As I said, the end product was very satisfactory, and Robert was very good. The appointment system needs some adjustment to make sure that the customer is 100% aware of what to expect. A working person would be very put out with my experience.

Once the appointment was made, it took a few visits to find out the issue, order the part and make the repair. There was ongoing good communication overall, and the technicians were courteous, competent and even helped with some suggestions on how much soap to use, and how to clean the filter. The only issue I had was the very vague appointment system that Sears has: once the date was selected, I was told between 8 and 5, and the Technician will call when hes on his way. It would be much more helpful if that window were slightly narrower. 😉 Overall very satisfied.

The technician said that this washer machine (LG) is supposed to be as annoying as it is. There is no way to fix it. I refuse to believe this. My daughter has the same machine and she does not experience the aggravation that this machine gives us.

Repairer was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable about my lawn tractor that wasnt cranking.. We had a detailed discussion of what was going on with tractor, future recommendations to save me money, and he made all checks to ensure my mower was in top condition for this Spring-Fall season...Through his experience he was able to easily diagnose my problem, correct it and explain how and why it occurs. I was very pleased with him, I hope he continues to come out when service time comes around and for any other future needs....Great job,,,,,

We were totally pleased with our repair. The repairman arrived as expected with a phone call about fifteen minutes before arrival. He worked carefully and efficiently and left everything looking like new. He was also extremely patient when I wanted to clean under the appliance while he had it pulled away from the wall. The technician did show up on time and was friendly, UNFORTUNATELY he didnt perform the routine checkup on the washer and dryer, nor did he fix the dryer. He was able to make it so we could use our washer until the correct part comes in, BUT we have to wait for another 2.5 weeks before they could fit us into their schedule. After 4.5 weeks of working with SEARS, we still dont have a fixed washer or dryer... we are EXTREMELY frustrated.

This service appt never took place. The part is on backorder and it took 6 phone calls for me to find this out. They promised me a new refrigerator because they have backorder on the freezer gasket and my part request is over 22 days old. No wonder sears is going out of business. A great and experienced repairman. Knew what parts to get and ordered them . They were here when he came and they were the right ones. When I call to have this repaired set up the lady told me that my dryer was too old and that they didnt have part to repair it, but this repair man did get the parts and fixed it. It works GREAT. Sears gave our family the run around. My 93 year old father who has always been a local Sears customer waited almost 2 weeks in 90 plus degree weather for Sears to order a part because we were told the system was covered under a maintenance agreement. He has always kept a maintenance agreement on all of his Sears appliances. We were first told the window AC was covered, which made no sense because we never had a window AC. When we contacted Sears (5 or 6 times) we were told that the central air system was covered but on the day of the service you reneged. What Sears did to my Dad was unwarranted. Sears has lost a valued customer and we now understand why your stores are disappearing.

I had stayed homed for a visit the weekend before that did not materialized But when he came, He came within the new time appointed, He fixed the washer,, he explained the trouble, He cleaned up after himself. We needed a new door gasket (ours was moldy), a new door front (ours is cracked) and a new dispenser tray. The cost of parts and labor was $900!!!!! No way. We paid the $89 service charge. Might as well buy a new one for that kind of money which is what we will do.

Basicly, all I needed was a yearly service on my rider lawn mower. The tech arrived within the stated window, knew his job, and completed the service (oil change, new filters, new spark plug, new blades, general adjustments and inspections) in about a half hour. He was quick, easy to work with, and ready to explain what he was doing and why. High marks all around.

I have been using Sears products since the 1980s. Recently, I have to say the service has been terrible. I think the problem does not lie with the technicians who are sent out to perform repairs. The problem exists with the way Sears schedules appointments and maintains its databases. I began trying to schedule an appointment for a dishwasher repair a little over a month ago. After no technician kept the first appointment I had scheduled, I called to find out that the appointment had apparently been lost. I rescheduled. When the technician arrived, I found that he worked on washing machines, not dishwashers. He apologized and had a dishwasher come out late that afternoon. The technician worked on the dishwasher for about 30 minutes, (the dishwasher wasnt emptying properly), and told me the problem was fixed. After he left, I found that the problem was actually worse. Ive rescheduled an appointment for the third time. I think theres a high probability that Ill be told that a part (such as a water pump), will need to be orderd, and that Ill need to set up another appointment when it comes in. In the meantime, were using a lot of disposable plates, cups, and utensils, which we did not buy from Sears.This is not the first time Ive tried to get repairs done on products with warranties, only to be told that data has been lost because Sears has gone to a DOS-based), system. Im becoming very reluctant to either continue to buy Sears appliances or recommend them to others. I think this problem is an organizational one that will not improve until Sears changes the way it handles repairs from start to finish.

We set up an appointment to fix the oven and that experience was also great. He arrived promptly to fix the oven and wasted no time completing the job. He was professional. I purchased a Sears Elite refrigerator. It is less then 2 years old. I also have a Sears Home Warranty for all my appliances. My refrigerator quit working the week of July 14th. I contacted Sears and they told me that they could not get repair to me until three weeks later August 2nd. Today August 2nd they call and say it will be another week now August 9th. That ‘s a month without a refrigerator. This is totally unacceptable. How many families can survive a month without a refrigerator? The home warranty advertises they will fix or replace any appliance, if you can get them to respond. After my dealings with Sears, Sears services, and Sears Home Warranty I can understand why they are bankrupt and closing stores. I have even called Sears CEO Ed Lampert without any success. They will not even answer my voicemails. I have spent my last dollar with Sears!!!

The technician was very knowledgeable and professional. He diagnosed the problem almost immediately and repaired it. He was finished in less than 20 minutes.My gripe is the amount of time it took to get a service person to my house, and the arrival window I was given. I first called on a Sunday, and was told I would need to call back at 8:00 am on Monday morning. I was then given a Friday as a repair day. I was told to expect the service person anytime between 8 am and 5 pm. That is not a window, that is an entire work day. No one told me when I purchased the warranty I would have also add an entire days pay to the cost of every service call.

I took the repairman at his word that the problem was solved. However, upon using the machine the next day, it began emitting a loud, banging, type of sound during the cycle. the previous problem was fixed but that noise is cause for concern.

Having a refrigerator warranty, I had to call the 800 number to get a technician.-While the folks were nice, I had problems with promises made and the fact that I had medications that had to be refrigerated and no one could com for two days (Despite them having folks working). Also, they could not provide a mini-fridge unless a tech came out first - a real problem because a tech could not come (classic Catch-22) and unacceptable). Luckily, I found a way to reset the refrigerator and get it working.On the day of repair, EVERYTHING WENT PERFECTLY.-Christopher arrived on time, He did a lot of extra work to diagnose the problem and make sure that I would be left with a working refrigerator.-Also, he discovered a problem with a circuit breaker (since fixed by an electrician under my home warranty).-He took plenty of time to both clean the coils, etc, and make sure that there was also nothing wrong with the refrigerator.I HIGHLY recommend a Sears Refrigerator warranty AND, I have NOTHING BUT PRAISE for Christopher! - despite the ridiculousness I had to endure two days earlier.

I told Sears the gasket in my refrigerator was bad and needed to be replaced. They said they had to send a service-person to look first. The service-person came and said the gasket was good. He replaced another part and said all was well. A few days later I was again forming ice and water around the seal.(which was torn). They sent another service-person a few days later who exclaimed your gasket is bad and needs to be replaced. Duhhhhhhhhhhhh....The first service-person took meat and other frozen food out of the freezer and put into the refrigerator (unknown to me). When I opened the refrigerator to get something out I found all this unfrozen food and had to throw it away. I called Sears and was told to file a claim. I filed the claim and still have no response from Sears. I was told that a new gasket would be shipped to me and a repair-person would come and replace it. Lets hope this guy knows what hes doing. Fantastic service! Problem identified in less than 5 minutes. The technician located the parts we needed, drove and got them, and fixed the entire problem in an hour. Service technician was very polite and efficient.

Get ready for a huge charge for your repair if you dont purchase their annual service agreement. They spend more time trying to sell you the service agreement than on what your immediate concern is. Once the repair tech came, we were charged the $89 for him to show up and $140 for him to plug in the dishwasher. Nothing was wrong, it simply wasnt plugged in. I called to get an explanation of the charge and they opened a dispute ticket and said I would get a response in 24 hours. After 48 hours, I called them back. They had no record I called and only said We dont give refunds. I could not get an explanation on why they didnt call me back and also was cut off when put on-hold and had to call twice to get no customer care service - the department I was calling. My advice is to find another repair company. We will never use Sears again.

The service tech, Tiah Gartorn, was very impressive. He knew what he was doing. Other techs could take lessons from him. He was very polite, and recommended that we place 1/2 inch blocks under the hot water tank that he was installing, that way if there were a leak in the future, the tank would not rust as the old one did. Also this would allow the water to run out of the plastic leak pad that the tank is setting in. I would highly recommend this tech for any future installations...........

Was rescheduled twice, because the repair required 2 people and Sears didnt bother to read the first technicians notes saying this, nor my online notes saying exactly the same thing - they still sent out one guy the second time. The third appointment was rescheduled via email at the last minute, for a week later. The fourth was delayed a couple of hours for another call elsewhere in the area.Two technicians ultimately showed up, but couldnt fix the issue because the part (for my 3-year old range hood) is no longer available. They only charged me for one service visit, though, and gave me a coupon for the equivalent amount off a Sears purchase. So it could have been worse.

It was a maintenance check. The gentleman ran water, let it out, etc. He found nothing wrong. The next day, the washing machine would not start. I called Sears Repair Service to tell them about it. We had to go through a process of activities to get the washing machine to start.

Tom came and looked at our dishwasher. Determined it had to be the valve that needed replacement although he never let the dishwasher run long enough to hear the high pitched whistle. After he left we ran the dishwasher, the noise did not go away. He came back a couple of days later. I had started the dishwasher before his arrival (I also had a video of the dishwasher as it was making this noise). He was finally able to hear the noise and decided it needed a new motor. At that point we decided not to fix it but rather to replace it. Our disapproval stems from the original $171 bill to replace the valve which did not need to be done.

This is no t a fair review. The technician was great and fixed what appeared to be the prI Ken so 5-stars for him. My 2-star review coming Mrs from the call center and service folks. The issue was not corrected so when I called back within 2-hours of technician leaving, it went downhill from there. After 3 phone calls requesting either same technician or a different one to come back and fix the issue, my dryer is still not corrected and I have to wait another 5 days for someone else to come out. The ball was dropped on their end; even after I spoke with a supervisor, nothing could happen for another 5 days. Very disappointed and upset because I did what I was supposed to do.

Unfortunately, the service tech was unable to duplicate the failure. We had to turn the ice maker off due to freeze up and melting into the deli drawer. I cleaned it up and turned the ice maker back on a day before the scheduled service but it did not freeze up this time.

Technician came and gave an estimate to fix our dryer. Did not get it fixed because we needed to get dryer vent cleaned first. Paid the $79 service call fee. After getting vent cleaned, called back to set up appt. to get dryer fixed. Asked two different people if the $79 we paid would go toward the cost of repair. Both said yes. When technician finished he gave me the price without the $79 being subtracted. When I asked him about this, he said they did not do that. When I told him two people had told me yes, he immediately said he could deduct 50% of the service charge. Prior to this, he had not mentioned this. When I called Sears about this, the customer service representative said she would make a note so it would not happen again. That is no help to me now. I probably will not call Sears in the future.
