I hadnt gotten out in awhile and so for my birthday I wanted my nails done. Jenny was amazing! She knew what I wanted and the best way to do it. My nails are gorgeous! And when I got my eyebrows done she took her time to make sure they were perfect and even without that barely there eyebrow look. At this point Im just going to have to keep coming back for her to take care of me!

Grandma got a basic manicure, daughter got her first acrylic set. Workmanship was great. Prices are reasonable. Customer service could be better. We set appointment with specific stylist. Upon arriving, they put us with different stylists. 30 min past our appointment they called wondering why we were not there. Other than that confusion in communication, it was good. Just down to business, not much conversation.

Very disorganized, was asked multiple times if I had an appt. (I did), equipment was not cleaned between customers, manicurist was on a phone call the entire time, shellac chipped the day after getting it. Will never go back.

First time visitor who never plans to return. The physical pain their tech put me through trumps every nice thing I could say about VIP Nails. The photo shown is three days after my visit. Yes, Im still having to bandage my finger (what?!?!). Yes, Im still in a considerable amount of discomfort. I should have just walked out, but I didnt fully realize the extent of the damage until the manicure was nearly done. Yikes!UPDATE 2/25. Wound is still very sore and looks even worse than the original picture because it has scabbed over, but it is healing. MANY!!!! people have asked me who did this to my hand. Still in disbelief.

Lihn did a spectacular job!! She is a real artist. The length is perfect as is the shape. She was funny and sweet on top of everything else. Everything was PERFECTION!

The owners sister does not know how to give pedicures. Most of the time she was watching TV. Burned me with the rock to massage my legs 2 times. Did not use her hands to give rotating massages but used her fingers to poke as if that was a massage. When I asked to speak to owner she was not in and the person who gave massage was talking about me and pointed at me (so I know she was being rude and unprofessional). I have been going there for a while and brought a friend with, I will not go back. I was given a $5 discount but ended up paying more than I usually do.

I have gone here several times for dip nails and had about 4-5 different nail techs. They all do a really great job. Tonight I had a special request for a pretty difficult nail design and it turned out AMAZING. The prices are fair and the techs here are incredible and very willing to go above and beyond to make your nails look great.

I have never had such a horrible experience. I just moved to the area and read the reviews thinking it would be a great place to get my nails done before our family Christmas Pictures and Dinner. The man who is younger and buff did my nails. First of all when he was putting on the press on nail part. He would just put the glue on and set the fake nail on top without applying any pressure to make sure they were secure. A few of them I had to try to press down myself after telling him a few times that he needed to press them down because they are not all attached to my real nail fully. After that he did all the drill work which hurt like hell and then used some type of liquid stuff on my nail that burned like hell. When it got to the actual part where he needed to use the acrylic he asked if I wanted acrylic or OPI (whatever that stands for) I said which ever one will last longer. He said OPI lasts longer but cost more. I said that’s fine. Well he put the OPI on my nails and it was a suuupppeeerrr thin layer. I told the man that they would break off easily. He says no they are very strong. Longer story short. I got my nails done on Friday at 10:26. Saturday my index fingernail breaks while I’m turning the wheel, Sunday the pinky and Thumb on the other hand breaks putting on a shoe, Monday the other index fingernail falls off changing my sons pull up. Finally the holidays are over and I go to the shop and advise them of what happened and how I wanted them fixed and like 1 of the ladies came and talked to me after I explained what happened to her she walks away and comes back with 3 other people. An older man with blueish colored eyes and 2 other women who began yelling at me in front of customers and my 3 year old son. Who at this point is freaked out about all the yelling. I ask them calmly to stop yelling the man proceeds to tell me, they do everyone’s nails thin like that and it was because I got my nails dipped. I told him I didn’t have the dip powder he starts yelling saying that I did. I responded that he didn’t do my nails, so he can’t say what I got. He then says you have to ask if you want thicker nails and they won’t fix them or return a portion of my money. I ended up walking out due to my son crying. I will never be back there and don’t urge anyone else to either. They turned something that should’ve been fixed by them into a war. Super unnecessary and don’t know how to run business. I paid 40.00 for me to have 0 nails as of a week after they were done. As of today they have ALL literally popped off.

I have been going here on and off for years (moving to other parts of town and trying other salons but have always come back here because of their quality), but I WILL NOT be back this time!!I had wanted the dip nails, but they ended up so thick it looked like a poorly done set of acrylics! There were entire sections of the sides of my nails with nothing on them; when I pointed this out, the tech tried filing that part of my nail off. This of course completely left my nails misshapen. I then asked to have it removed and I wouldnt have my nails done. They assured me someone else would re-do them, better.The gentleman who was to do them did not return, so another female tech did them. Same issue with the thickness. She argued that the tips were thin, and while I agreed with that, the large step-up on the base of my nail was clearly showing how thick they really were. At this point, none of them were the same shape. When I asked to have that fixed, the tech told me my natural nail was too wide to do what I had asked ( even though I showed her a picture before we started and she had assured me she could do that.) When I showed her two specific nails and said they were totally different, she said oh my God, I do everyones nails like that and no one complains. You are the first one While I hope that isnt the case, because they certainly didnt look good, it shouldnt matter that I said something because the fact is - I was the PAYING customer!

This place is perfectly meh. I have gotten my nails dipped there 3 times now and each time I do they are lifting and chipping within the first week. If you’re looking for something that will only last a few days then this is the place. If you want quality I would recommend going elsewhere. They will fight tooth and nail to not give the customer a refund so I’m not even going to attempt it. It’s not worth the headache that will ensue. Also, every time I have gotten my brows wax here, I have broken out and the last time had part of my skin taken off. It’s just not a very good establishment.

Absolutely fabulous! Went here with my daughter as a mom/daughter day for her 18th birthday. Pedicures, manicures, and she got a set of acrylics. Not only was the work amazing, but they were so kind and wonderful, attentive! We got to relax, got foot and hand massages, relaxed in a massaging chair and they had cold drinks for us. This will have to become a regular thing!

Amazing staff.

Went for a pedicure, the lady working on me went all out, full cheese grater on my nasty unmaintained tootsies. She filed my hooves back down to flesh, all with a pleasant smile and lack of judgement. I have feet soft enough to put on hubbies back when theyre cold (without fear of scratching him). I would give 5 stars, but my friend had a guy working on her who was far more interested in his phone than in her pedicure. Would go back, as long as I dont get that guy.

First time at this place and most definitely last. Very very rude there. I get the same thing every time at every nail salon I go. When I walked in this place they sat me down and started doing something completely different and when they noticed that they screwed up my nails they kept yelling at me saying it’s because “I had the dip powder on we were taking it off” — never in my life have I had the dip powder. FINALLY after saying that probably more than 10 times and them yelling at me, someone came in to fix my nails and actually said they weren’t dipped and they did do it wrong. if you screw up YOU fix it not pin it on your customers. how unprofessional can you get.

If I could give zwo stars for a rating I would.I have tried them a few different occasions and each time the service and quality is terrible. My nails length and shape never have matched and I am always having to file and fix when I get home. After today’s horrible experience I will never go back. I hope this review can help guide someone to a different salon as well. I have heard great things about Fabulous nail and plan to take my business there moving forward. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else!

My daughter granddaughter and I had pedicures yesterday. My granddaughter is only 7 years old and they had crime scenes on the TV. They were less than thrilled when I asked if they would please turn it over. The gal cut two of my toes while doing my pedicure. When they were cleaning the base, they sprayed a little bit of something and used a sponge. I think thats gross. My daughter asked if she could have her toenails cut down and we think they didnt understand enough English to do that. Not a pleasant experience.

I just went here yesterday. The lady that did my nails was amazing! I have nothing bad to say about the service or products, but I only went in for shellac so I expected to pay the usual $10+ tip. I ended up paying $30 +tip. They did a whole bunch extra that I didnt want. I had never had my nails done here before so I just thought it was part of the service. It wasnt. It was a nice job but it would have been nice to be asked before they did all that extra stuff to be sure that it was what I wanted. I clearly said to the two at the desk I just needed shellac, apparently they didnt think that was all I needed.

Id leave 0 stars if I could. My boyfriends mom wanted to take me out so she took me here to get a fill and a fix. I usually go to Paris Nails down the street. It sucked, super rushed, rude, cut down way too short, and really rough, like my hands hurt when we left. Although it was a few bucks cheaper than Paris, I will never come back here. I went home and buffed/painted the nails myself. Never betraying my nail salon again 🤬

Almost never a wait. Several employees so they get you in right away. Sometimes lots of employees means inconsistent work. Not true here! I get great nails every time.

Well I used to absolutely love this place until my last two visits. Both times my nails had smears and they were very rude. They actually tried drying my nails with space heaters and made my cuticles and fingers bleed from their rush service. I was upset so bad that the last time I was there I left in tears and with Franken nails like out of a horror story. The manager was completely rude and told me to come back the next day as my hands were bleeding and my nails that were gel and shellac looked like my two year old did them. Maybe I was over upset but 60 dollars spent for a horrible job and bleeding fingers I think anyone would be a bit distressed. Hailey is great and I would give her a 5 star anyone else no way! Not to mention I was tipping anywhere from 15 to 20 per visit. Even going as far as waiting up to 45 min for service. The last lady gave me two friction burns so my nails are finally grown back. They treat you as though you are nothing. Wont return EVER EVER again.

The service here was terrible. i got my nails done for a wedding. manicure with french tips and pedicure with french tips. i got my nails done in the morning and before the end of the day three finger nails had chipped off. and the next day for the wedding my manicure was a mess. also developed an infection on my right foot big toe because of unsanitary environment and tools. i am so disappointed this was supposed to be a fun occasion. i never get my nails done & now i will not come back or recommend this place to anyone.

The service was ok. But after we were done they told me how much everything cost and I paid with my card. The next day I see that they had charged 90$ more than they had told me. When I called them they told me that the surcharge was the TIP! even though I had paid the tip separately with cash. Went down there they changed their mind and said that the money was all for the services they had provided. If you go there, be sure to keep your receipt. I didnt take the receipt that day and was charged that much extra.

Friendly staff and quick service, however not a good place for Shellac...cheap product and starts to come off in a few days. Other places my shellac has stayed on and nice looking for 2-3 weeks.

My daughters polish came off after only 1 day.

They requested for me to come back and pay the extra for a quick dry, then I have to see the orginal technician. ENTER WITH CAUTION.RESPONSE TO OWNER: Thank you for the reply, although several accounts you outlined are incorrect:1. The your wife (co-owner) stated I had no other option than to have the original Tech (John) redo the polish.2. I requested the $10 upgrade for shallac because, as you stated the poor workmanship had to do with your top coat quality. It seems pointless, not considering the time, energy, and effort, to return to your nail salon, to redo the service with the same product. If the product line is an issue, it wouid seems appropriate to make the neccessary adjustments to rectify the situation. Also, I gave the 5$ coupon I received in Dec to offset the cost, but was told I couldnt use the coupon. A business gives coupon, but the customer cant redeem it for poor workmanship to be redone. It would seem reasonable to redo the service and willing to go over and beyond the call of duty.3. The Tech, John, then deflects the situation by claiming I didnt like the nail color despite choosing a similar color palette. He took no responsibility, the job was bad because he rushes.4. The wife tries to kick me out of the salon because of my review, after telling me the salon would take no action in correcting the problem. This is poor management and not permissible business practices.5. I had to show up a 2nd time for a service that shouldve been done correctly the first time.Its unfortunate business dont see the value in excellence or customer service.

Excellent nail services

The worst pedicure I’ve had. The nail tech was rough. She clipped too much of my cuticle and one of my toes bled. The paint job was uneven. I had to ask for my toe nails to be cut down. The massage was rushed even though I requested a deluxe pedi. From the moment I walked in everything was rushed starting with the nail tech rushing me to pick a polish color. The water was not hot. I asked for warmer water and she only added a small amount so the temperature didn’t change. The scrub was only applied to my feet and ankles. She didn’t work the product up like most others do. At the end, she rushed me to pay for the service even though I had just sat down at the dryer station and other clients had been drying for 20 minutes without paying. I only tried this salon because Asia nails had a 25 minute wait. Never again.

Been going to this nail salon for the past 15 years since I’ve lived in Kentwood. The last time I was there the owners wife was upset because of my last review on Facebook. I did not understand why they gave me a gift certificate for five dollars off at Christmas time and it did not have an expiration date, and they would not even honor it? My issue is not with any of the girls that work there. However I keep getting overcharged, and everything seems to be all the parts. Why is it that I go there and get the same stuff done to my nails every time and the price just keeps going up. They do not explain the breakdown of your receipt when you leave or let you know before hand. Hardly any of the girls speak English which is horrible for business and communication ! Then the owners wife literally yelled at me in front of other clients and customers because I put a review on Facebook about the situation. I will never be back to the nail salon! I don’t feel as though yelling at someone especially that has spent so much money at that nail salon for the past 15 years is completely unprofessional. They lost me and about six of my friends. I really hope that anybody that reads this review will take hearts and know that there are other and better nail salons than VIP.

My nails looked good but they ground them down so bad that when I took the polish off my nails were very brittle and keep breaking now. Before I went in I had strong hard nails that rarely broke.

Idk why this is on my boyfriends account but called for an appointment at 6:30 for a full set, arrived picked a color & we began right away . Place is so cute I wish I would have gotten a pedi the ladies getting one seemed so happy & relaxed . Dom did an amazing job on my nails he took his time & went through with all the steps of a full set including sizing the nails before applying which I havent seen often exploring nail shops in kentwood . He asked me many questions to get the perfect shape & they came out great all even & shaped perfectly! Environment here is amazing full of laughter & smiles best nail shop I been to in kentwood 😍.

I like this nail salon because they usually do my nails the way I like them. My chief complaint about this location is that service suffers when they are busy. Ive had many times when I had to work in and waited for a really long time for a subpar experience. Ive had my nails filed unevenly, theyve made me bleed (on more than one occasion), and communication can be an issue with some of their technicians. All in all, however, when they have the time to do the job right, its a quality manicure and/or pedicure.

Poor color selection. Didnt provide the requested services. Poor attention to detail when doing my nails. Terrible service all around. Will not be going back.

I have been going here at least once a month for quite some time for an eyebrow wax and whenever I need to get shellac done on my nails. It’s very hit or miss. Today the service was terrible and I went home and fixed it all myself. This was my third time in a row trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I will never be back.

Me and my daughter left with bleeding cuticles and our nails were uneven my daughters polish was not applied correct and this was my 3rd visit within 3wks my Shellac came off twice and then they charged $5 to take it off....Far from V.I.P. treatment ...I will be going to Sara nails next time bye bye. I visited VIP nails on May 12th. I brought my Mother in Law and we both received a pedicure and a full set of nails. My bill was $183.00 and we were here three hours. I was not going to write a review but each day that goes on I am more annoyed to the point I am writing one.My experience here was fine, like other salons, seemed cleaned, they did nice work. My problem is my pedicure. The technician that did mine used a shaver blade on my right heel. I had a pedi three moths ago and use a ped egg in the shower, so I know the skin on my heels was not that bad. I have had times where they looked like alligator feet, but not this time. The technician spent what seemed like extra time on my right foot and even made me jump a bit because it felt like she cut me. I commented and asked if they were that bad etc. she didnt respond, so I sat quietly. I left and everything was fine, my feet just felt tender and slippery but as the night went on my heel started throbbing. I can visually see a missing chunk, and there is a cut up my heel. I just didnt feel it at the time from all of the soaking etc. Ten days later and I have not been able to put full weight on my right heel. It hurts too much because she shaved too much skin away. It is tender to the touch and bearing weight results in sharp pain. For two weeks, Ive been limping around which is really inconvienient when you have kids and a demanding schedule. If you go here, I advise you do not let them use that razor thing, or sp so up when it hurts; because I didnt really and it hurts!!!! It doesnt seem like a foot shaver could cause such pain, but Im here to tell you it does if you take too much off. Im ready for a nail fill and I dont think Ill be going back here. Im disappointed. I know the quality of work is good, but its caused me lots of inconvienience limping around for two weeks.

My nail broke two days after my appointment and the whole experience was uncomfortable and she didnt shape my nails the way I asked them to be. Never going here again!!!!!
