I had my first appointment yesterday with Stacy and I am so glad I tried this stylist and salon. Stacy was nothing short of spectacular! Stacy is confident, knowledgable, and friendly. I let her decide what she thought would look best for my color and cut and she exceeded my expectations. From scheduling my appointment to checking out I only had helpful and overall excellent experiences. This is a nice welcoming salon that I felt comfortable in. They took sanitizing and COVID precautions seriously. I am extremely happy and will definitely be back!

I had my first ever highlights done by Brooke with a great cut to go with the whole package. Brooke made the whole process fun and non-intimidating. She helped me decide which style of highlights would work best for my desired maintenance schedule, and I truly enjoyed the whole experience. Sarah is a consummate professional. She is astute, experienced, a great listener and highly skilled at her craft. The salon is elegant, clean, and well managed. Ive been to capelli salon now 3 times, and my stylist has been Jay. She has been professional, fun, and timely. I could spend hours in that chair and she makes it smooth and delightful. Theyve been so stringent about cleanliness and safety, I really feel good about being there. I love my pink hair and Jay was great at helping me with care and picking the right process to help make sure my hair was taken care of, every time. She isnt pushy about products but also isnt afraid to say treat your hair the way it needs. I cannot say enough good things about Capelli and in particular about Jay.

Brooke Christie gave me a great haircut after a year of Covid growth. I wanted lavender highlights to celebrate getting the vaccine! She helped me pick out the purple/lavender I wanted and I was excited to see the purple in my hair. Ive received many compliments. I really enjoyed the experience and I recommend her to others.

I have come in recently for some scalp treatments and the scalp massage Brooke gives while she washes my hair is heavenly! She also tinted my eyelashes recently and they look BOMB. The best salon experience I’ve ever had, and during Covid, that’s saying a lot. Fun but relaxing atmosphere and the Davines products smell amazing and work even better! Its not JUST a hair salon. The people who work here take the utmost pride in their work and have such a great passion for this artistry. Its a safe place to escape from the stresses of life and be pampered and have fun with the hair stylists. Ive only ever had my hair beautifully done by Kathy, but I feel like i know all of the stylists because theyre all so friendly, and Ive interacted with them numerous times. Capelli is such a fun and special place, really indescribable until you experience it for yourself :) While I could go on and on about what a great place it is, the quality of their work is literally out of this world. To me, its worth every penny. The costs are comparable to other salons that dont even come close to the skill level and talent. Lets be honest, hair is an investment, and its important. This was my first visit after being referred by a friend to go. When I asked her which hair artist she recommended, she said they were all fantastic so I went with who was first available, which happened to be Jay, and I was not disappointed. Even with masks and no blow dryers to style, I was very satisfied with the work she did and thankful I booked before heading back to 3x the prices in NYC. I will be back the next time Im in town!

Stylist and nail tech August does an amazing job at everything! She has an eye for edgy cuts/colors and will suggest great ideas and product recommendations so you can recreate the look at home. She’s very versatile with her own hairstyles so she is very knowledgeable on what is easy, manageable & trendy. I had wanted to cut my hair into a pixie for so long and after talking with her, I felt the support and encouragement I needed and now it’s my forever favorite look. She’s absolutely hilarious and we never run out of things to talk about. You can tell she truly loves what she does and enjoys pampering her guests.

Covid 19 protection throughout the salon - felt very safe!

To cut costs, I typically frequent Great Clips and the Aveda Institute, but every once in a while Im willing to pay the price for a REALLY good hair cut, and I received that at Capelli Salon, thanks to the stylist Ryan. He was able to manifest my desired look, and he patiently explained what tools, products, and methods I could use to restyle it on my own. He also gave an amazing scalp massage.

I called Capellis and although I usually have Kathy Kang, told them I was desperate and to please schedule me with whomever. Everyone at Capellis is certainly capable! Now, here comes the cool part, evidently, Sara asked Kathy if she could fit me in with her and Kathy worked her schedule around to accommodate me. I now look presentable to be in public. I have to say this same accommodation has happened a number of times with Allison also. I get my hair and nails done here - and I love it! I’ve tried pretty much every comparable salon in GR, and this is by far the best.Hair - Kathy cuts my hair. She’s great. Very talented from pixies to long. She’s cut my pixie and helped me grow it out to a bob. And each cut she gives me is well done and grows out nicely between cuts.There are days I don’t want to talk much, and she’s cool with that and it’s not awkward. And on days that I’m chatty, she’s great conversation.Capeli uses gentle hair products that don’t strip hair of its natural oils. And the staff is very knowledgeable about what to use. Kathy helped me pick out a hairbrush that I’m mildly obsessed with.Nails - Cheyenne does my nails, and does a great job! I get Shellac. They use a brand that is easy on the nail bed and keeps nails healthy. Cheyenne is super nice and down to earth. I get great nails every time. Before her, I wasn’t one to go regularly. But now I have a package (you essentially get one free session if you get a package - it’s a steal) because I enjoy it so much.I prefer dip to Shellac and hope they consider bringing that on.

Ive gone here many times and I dont have a preferred stylist because they all do a phenomenal job. Theyre the only place I go to for a haircut in Grand Rapids.
