Great place, very clean. My last dip application was with Lee, lasted 4 weeks, zero chips or cracks! Removal and reapplication process was great, they really cared for my nails and didnt hurt me (which has happened at other places because of my sensitive nails. This time I had Jackson, he did a great job and we had a great conversation. Ill be back in 4 weeks : )

I hesitate to even write this review because the employees at Cheshire nails were so kind, but ultimately I was disappointed in my experience for the money I paid. I went for a dip manicure and the result was not good... the clear coat that they use to apply the dipping powder was congealed and chunky. The technician kept getting up to get new applicators to try or to pour nail polish remover in the bottle to thin it out. The dip was not sticking as a result and she had to dip each hand 3 times. My nails then had to be sanded and the result is wavy, uneven, thick nails with a few air bubbles and an indent in almost every nail. Even though they tried hard to make it right, I dont feel like it was worth the $40 plus $10 tip. Why not just open a new bottle of the base coat to fix the problem right away? Also, as a result it took over an hour and a half, where normally it would take 40 minutes. As I said, employees were kind but the quality lacked majorly.

First time here and I was SO impressed! They did so great! I’m a nail bitter so I’m a more difficult to do a full set on. My tech did amazing. They look so amazing and are very solid and look natural! So great 10/10 would recommend :)

The best nail place around! Jackson, Celina, and Lee do an amazing job. They are always on time, professional, and friendly. Cheshire nails is always very clean and they have a ton of colors to choose from. I try their dip manicure and Felix pedicure; they both last forever. I 100% recommend this place!

My acrylic nails were uneven from another nail place. Jackson did an excellent job filling in my acrylics, he fixed my nails and made them look AMAZING even though theyre short and difficult to work with. I will be going back every few weeks.

I have been going to Jackson for years. I used to live on that side of town but now reside in Hudsonville and I actually drive across town to still have my nails done as he does an excellent job! It really feels like a family and I appreciate the friendliness and professionalism. Everyone is great who works there and he truly does amazing work. Wont go anywhere else!Update:I changed from gel to dip! I LOVE it!! Jackson keeps everything so clean and safe! Temp checks, sanitizer right when you get there and plexiglass between the staff and the guests. I love my nails, as usual, and I can’t wait to go back!!

I got a mani and pedi here the other day. Both the employees that met me were very abrasive and unfriendly. Maybe they just seemed annoyed because it was busy and Covid? The pedi was fine. The mani, however, seemed rushed. 5 nails also chipped the next day. I went back in to get them fixed, and they acted as if I was a burden and it was my fault they chipped. Granted, I only got a regular nail polish mani, but it shouldn’t have chipped that much after less than 24 hours. I did originally ask for Shellac, so not sure where the miscommunication came from. I am bummed because this is my neighborhood nail salon, and I try to support local. I’ve been here another time, and that time was great and Le was awesome. If I end up trying a 3rd time, I will ask for her.

I live it here thanks for doing a new full set as I waited 3 weeks to come back for a gel fill but the nails had already lifted to much so the owner was a sweetheart and did it today for me and he was very very sweet and gentle with my hands and nails as I have 3 stitches currently on the top of my right pinky finger so keep up the wonderful jobs you all do daily it’s much appreciated 😍😍😇😇!!

Nails were uneven polish had air bubbles in it. Shorter than the original shape it was cut to. VERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!

I got a pedicure here today and it was literally the best pedicure I’ve ever had. Salina was awesome and was super nice and attentive. My nails look awesome and I feel so relaxed! Will only be getting my nails done here from now on! They also have great prices!!

Everyone was super nice, I had forgot my mask and they gave me one. One of the guys said he liked my hair, and the girl doing my sisters nails was extremely nice, the girl doing my mothers nails was also super nice.

I came here less then a week ago to get my nails done, actually had a relatively good experience. Jackson was my nail tech. Told him this was my first time trying Dipped nails because of the health of my nails after acrylics I wanted something more healthier. I asked him if they chipped, or were any known issues he said no, that they were good nails to have! If any problems to call him and let him know. Well because of my work schedule I couldn’t find time to call about my nail breaking literally the next day and a few cracking, figured he was understanding and pretty cool I’ll let him know as soon as I can. During my break at work went to visit and let them know, first they were very rude and blaming me for my nails breaking which is false. Then after “arguing” not really arguing but explaining that they broke the next day, he said that the dip works for some and doesn’t work for some. Okay???? I wasn’t told that and they were going to charge me for getting them removed. I was going to get a full set instead at full price no problem just didn’t want to be charged for taking off the horrible nail job they did. While getting my nails removed Jackson decided to hover over me and continue to argue with me about who’s fault it was. I didn’t even finish my appointment, I walked out after having them removed off my nails. I will NEVER go back. Find somewhere else.

Jackson was so sweet. I also met his wife today. This was my first time at this salon. I will definitely be back! Le did my daughters nails as well. We are very pleased with the quality, but more importantly how comfortable we felt coming to a salon we have never been in.

I got a shellac pedi and dip mani. Both Jackson and Selena were so great! So friendly and easy to talk to. My dip mani is literally the best I’ve ever had! So happy!

Even from the first phone call everyone was so friendly. They even did well with my daughter that lives with a disability. We had a good time! Prices were great and colors were fun!

Nails were fine, told me the total was $69 dollars, when I got home, found out they charged my card $82. Stop lying about your prices!! Never going here again.

I haven’t had my nails done since I moved to Grand Rapids 4 years ago so I was a little nervous coming to a place new to me. I’m so happy with my experience at Cheshire! Jackson was fantastic and did a wonderful job and was a great conversationalist!

Overall, wasnt terrible. Had an appointment for 4:30, she started doing my nails at 4:40. The shape isnt the best, color isnt even on all nails which makes them look super cheap, not cleaned up very well, the nails are way too thick in some areas. Just not the best Ive ever had. Only good part was that I felt welcomed.

I have been going regularly two years now and have never had a bad pedicure or a bad fill for my acrylic nails. I have been pleased every time. The customer service is great. I originally wanted a shellac polish change, but left with the worst shellac nail removal ever. I called ahead to ask if it was busy (10am on a Friday), and I was first told yes, and then Jackson answered the phone, said once I come in and wrap my nails, it will be fine. I came in, apparently there was a bridal group there, and they were already two short on manicurists. I tried to ask Jackson how long I would be sitting here with my nails wrapped because the acetone starts to bug me after 10 minutes, and I’d like to be checked on. He said at least 7-10, repeated himself three times in a condescending tone about the process, then asked, “Do you understand?”. He left me there for 22 minutes!!!I took the foil off at 11 minutes because my fingers were on fire, but no one came to check in. An older woman removed the shellac, leaving behind streaks and streaks of polish, and then signaled me to change location to another station. I told them I was just going to pay for the nail removal and go as my fingers hurt. They gave me a hard time when I tried to wash my hands, so it created a scene. I had to tell them my fingers were burning and I had to pay and go, but they again hassled me to just sit down. At the register, I explained again that I had asked not to have the foils on for more than 10 minutes and to be checked on. I got a blank stare in return. Waste of my time and money as I had to buff my nails to remove the remaining shellac.Stop telling customers on the phone that you aren’t busy if you actually are! I was ignored, and my hands now hurt because of their lack of customer service or care.

This place is one of the best in Grand Rapids, The environment is filled with compassionate people and you feel right at home. They spend a lot of time to make sure everything is done accurate. My experience is always a good one, I would definitely recommend this place !!!

I went to a different nail salon to have my full set removed and had 3 infections growing under the nails Cheshire Nails had put on me. SO DISGUSTING. I have had my nails done consistently for 10 years and this has never happened to me.I got a shellac manicure which chipped within three days of getting it done. The manicurist was fast and sloppy, and when I asked him to please cover the edges of my nails he got an attitude with me. I went back and had it fixed, and they chipped again within the day.I went back to try acrylic nails. The woman doing my nails did not take direction well. I asked her for square nails, and she kept rounding them off. I had to keep asking, and they kept getting shorter and shorter. She painted my nails and there were three small hairs in my nails, I had to ask her multiple times to remove the hairs and she just scrapped them off with a metal tool, smearing all the nail polish instead of removing the polish and starting over. I got this set put on 3 days ago, and two the my nails are already lifting off from the base.When I was trying to give direction to the manicurist, the owner came over and told me to trust them. It was completely rude and unprofessional.I will NEVER go back to this place unless it changes ownership. Im thoroughly disappointed that I spent any money with them.

I experienced excellent service and my nails look beautiful! The woman who took care of me (Millie) took her time and paid close attention to detail and made absolutely sure that I was 100 percent satisified. Very nice nails and great service!

$15 to just take off dip polish seems like a lot to me, but then again, I never get my nails professionally done.

Service is nice, professional, and clean. However, do not be fooled by gel nails. They will give you acrylics and just use a gel topcoat. I did not know the difference between gel and acrylic fake nails until just recently, and I now know that I received acrylics and paid $5-10 more than I shouldve because I thought they were gel nails.

Ive been going to Cheshire for my pedicure / manicure needs - they are all excellent & take their time - pedicures last longer - the paint lasts longer - they are really nice & I dont feel like Im being talked about in a difference languages there either ! Ive always recieved top notch service here - never got a fungus from them !! 💚 I cant say that about many shops ! They are the only place I now got nail service from - Ive learned they are the best !! ✌️

Horrible service! I went in and REQUESTED the lady that did my nails last time. The guy insisted the other lady do them and I said no thanks, its ok Ill wait for Lee, I like the way she did them. He ignored it and had the other lady do them. They look like uneven bricks! I wish I could share a picture to show you! I had her go back to fix them 3 times and then gave up. When they went to check me out they charged me more than last time and when I asked why they said its because they used gel. So I told them there was no such thing as a powder gel and they tried to argue with me. (Im a cosmetologist, do nails at work all the time and know for a fact theres no such thing.) I even pulled it up on my phone and showed him that theres no such thing. GEL COMES IN A GEL FORM... NOT POWDER! Dont let them fool you!
