Best haircut I’ve ever had. The hot towel and massage are just the cherry on top

Actually had an appointment at a different place, and they were not open for my appointment. Thanks to Google I found 1st choice...I am glad I did. Russell was great and I will definitely return. This will be a great place to also bring my dad for our annual haircut and shave day at Christmas

Ive been going here for years. They always include a hot face towel and shoulder massage, and spend quite some time making sure to get it right. They dont just try to move onto the next customer, they will take as long as they need to get yours right.

The guys and gals are great at First choice and the atmosphere is unparalleled!! I will not go anywhere else!

Absolutely the worst queuing system. When I arrived, there were 3 barbers and 2 people waiting so I figured the wait would be 30 min max. What they don’t tell you is people with appointments have priority. This makes sense, no argument, but they don’t have any barbers dedicated for walk-ins. So a bunch of customers with appointments came in and got ahead of us. This meant we would have to wait at LEAST another 30 min and it was possible another set of customers would come in and take priority again. Until they fix their queuing system, I’ll find another barber. They are good, but not THAT good. Be warned, don’t go without an appointment or you might be waiting a long time, even though the number of waiting customers is small.

Russell cuts my husbands and both my sons hair and does a fantastic job every time. I highly recommend him!

Fantastic experience! Ill be honest, it took a bit to be seen, even though it was 6:30 at night. It was a bit busy. The owner of the store was my barber, and he treated me like I was his most important customer! Will definitely come again.

From the moment you walk into the shop, you’re greeted with a “hello, how are you doing” not by one person, but by the entire shop! The customer service is unbelievable!! Amazing work!! You won’t find that at other barbershops! The staff is incredible!! I always come to 1st choice to get my haircuts. Russell cleaned me up and fresh! Best part in my opinion, is the hot towel on and around your face that has mint or eucalyptus scent. It feels so good! So good that I could’ve fallen asleep in the chair! Love this place and the people that work there! They hook you up with a fresh look and they take their time, they’re not worried about the quantity of customers, but more of the quality of the haircut. Exquisite!!!!

I go here all the time, I take my kids also. They give great haircuts. But know, they are not in a hurry. So, if you are, you may get frustrated. If your not in a hurry, they are the absolute best. I love the variety of barbers there. They all do great work. I pay for the family plan. It does save money for me and I dont procrastinate in getting haircuts as bad as I did before.

However, since discovering 1st Choice Barbershop, I’ve not returned to my stylist. Walk-ins are welcomed here, but I make an appointment during the week that’s convenient for me.Staff treats you like family here. Extremely clean and well-maintained. I don’t feel crowded here - each barber’s station has multiple TV screens, and there’s always good music playing in the background. Ive been coming to 1st Choice Barbershop since moving to the Phoenix area. I usually get my hair cut by Russell but have also had haircuts from several other barbers. Everybody here does a great job. The shop is always clean and the prices are very reasonable especially if you sign up for the monthly membership. Highly recommend them!

I had an appointment with Russell for a premium plus package. You receive everything but the kitchen sink. Cut shave hot towel cold towel facial scalp neck massage shoulder massage everything. Couldn’t be any better service. This barbershop has never disappointed. I highly recommend them. Especially since I receive a flat top haircut and not many people can do them correctly. Make sure to book earlier in the week (Mon-Wed) because they get busy on the weekends. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fresh cut!

Mark gave me probably the best haircut hands down I ever had. . I get compliments daily from friends and strangers. I have paid 3 times as much in LA and the results aren’t nearly as good. A hidden gem.

Great quality cuts and genuinely clean fades. The hospitality at this barbershop is unmatched. They ask if you want water, how your days been, etc. They make you feel at home and completely relaxed. 10/10 would recommend.

This has been my barbershop home since I moved to AZ almost five years ago!! I love that the atmosphere is welcoming to EVERYONE. They offer extended services but gently so that you don’t feel like you are being pressured. The prices are reasonable, and you have the option to pay for additional services. That is a HUGE deal imo given some shops inflate prices for services you don’t want and you don’t have a choice. Love this place, love the energy, love the staff! Keep up the great work! #customer4life

I was hesitant to try a new barber shop. I had been going to the same shop for 15+ years. However I moved 25 min from said barber shop and for the past 2 years I made the drive. Today I decided to try 1st choice cause it is close my house. Glad I did, good service. Walked in with no appointment and waited maybe 5 min before I got in the chair. The cut came out just how I asked. Definitely a good place and I will go back.

Barbers working areas are well maintained and each barber has their own sink. Very impressed, I will be coming back here as needed.

I started coming here several years ago because my previous shop only stayed open until 7 one day a week which rarely worked with my schedule. First time I came in Russell did a fantastic job and Ive been coming back since. I usually stick with him or Ella for myself and my young boys though the times Ive used their other barbers theyve done fine. Just found over the years that results are better overall if you stick with the same people. They do a great job with my boys and hands down a better cut for them then the kids only places. I usually get their premium package for myself which is a cut, wash, and straight razor face shave with the hot / chilled towels - love it! They offer a monthly membership which Id definitely recommend when you become a regular. Theyre also pretty accommodating, I can usually get an evening appointment if I call earlier in the day, but walk-in is ok too. Id absolutely recommend to anyone they come here.

Had a haircut with Jesie and worst haircut experience ever! Anyone else can do a better job then this joker, claims to be the best one there and it claims to have a load of experience, when I got home all I saw in my fade was harsh lines and the bald to the fade wasn’t even blended right I had to touch it up with a razor I do not recommend going to him, I had to cancel my appointment I had because this big boy decided to take his longest sweetest time on my haircut I get it if it came out clean but it was only choppy. Not a 1st choice for me anymore.

Russel cut my hair exactly how I wanted him to and exceeded my expectations while making a few suggestions based on his experience. Very friendly atmosphere with a crisp, professional cut.

I have had a very good experience at 1st Choice Barbershop. The store front is very clean and you are able to watch television while getting your hair cut. Free drinks are provided as well. All of the technicians that have cut my hair have done a good job and I am always very satisfied. I opted to enroll in their $18.95 per month membership plan which gets you 1 haircut per month for the membership price, and no charge for additional haircuts, if needed. Really a good value for the money!

Man for my first time going I wasnt disappointed. The barber gave me the cut I asked for and it was clean I highly recommend this barbershop if you want great customer servise and the get to you as soon as you walk in.

Russell was able to fix a desaster of a haircut from another barber and tame my out of control beard. He took the time to talk over options and get to know my hair. Great place!

Made an appointment online. When I arrived, they said they do not take appointments on Sunday. Never stated that on the website. The barber I had was terrible. Did not know how to do a flat top, his attitude was terrible. Worst ten minute hair cut. Paid 23 dollars for a ten minute hair cut, and a worst experience I ever had getting one. Do not recommend going here. Save your money and go to place where they treat the customers well.

Love this place. Its family owned by a local guy, furnishings and decor inside are nice and typically the wait isnt very long, if there is one. Theyve got some really good barbers and some barbers that are still learning the trade. Once you find a good one, stick with em.

Been here a couple of times and I didnt feel welcomed at all wich is sad because its really close to my house. I just cant seem to find a good place that makes you feel welcomed and do great cuts. Its been 1year since I moved to the area & no luck on a great place
