Unfortunately Im stuck here because Nystrom is one of the only places that accepts my insurance. But their business office staff and practice are terrible. Nystrom is more concerned about money than about a patients mental health.

I go here for grief counseling and I cannot be any happier with Darcy Stivland. I would highly recommend her! Very professional, caring and helpful!

We had high hopes with this appointment and sadly ended up so far with a bunch of disappointment. Kiddo had a psychological exam scheduled 9 months out over 2 days (not uncommon) and when we arrived, provider had only a face shield on, no mask. When asked where their mask was, the provider said they would not wear the shield if they wore a mask-I made it clear to wear a mask. When the reminder call came for the next appt, I mentioned the concern and asked for a call from the office manager.Crickets.We had our phone call with the provider to discuss preliminary results on 12/30/20 with the report to be sent out in the next few weeks. The provider did great at identifying concerns, that we can say was good.Ive called a few times and have heard the report isnt ready yet; we need it for school and an upcoming meeting. Requests for the office manager have continued and after not getting a call back yesterday, called today (3/5/2021) and spoke to the Woodbury desk staff (who have been incredibly helpful and have forwarded my messages to the office manager, who has never called back). The regional manager has now been notified by the desk staff as they see I have heard nothing and am still waiting for any information.Now we wait, again.

Only good experiences with staff and providers thus far (extremely kind staff). Given the difficulties of the pandemic, I havent experienced issues. Holly is a wonderful therapist, but Ive met several providers at this location and thought they were all great.

Unreliable and unprofessional. I would not recommend Nystrom. Our childs first appointment was canceled by the provider just 3 minutes before the appointment was supposed to start. We thought that would be an isolated occurrence but it recently happened again where the provider canceled at the last minute. We experienced 2 last minute cancelations without any advance notice out of a total of only 3 appointments. Im quite frankly very surprised by the lack of consideration and care for patients.

I have no doubt that this clinic must’ve been good once upon a time, but they have problems now. My severely developmental disabled son ran out of an important medication over the New Years weekend but this clinic has NO on call doctor for emergencies!A psychiatric clinic with no one on call seems outrageous to me! Not only that, but their phone system is buggy! Busy signals, hang ups, options that don’t work, etc. I realize people are working remotely now but that means you invest whatever it takes to have a communications infrastructure that works. No excuse for this. This isn’t a podiatrist clinic, it’s a psychiatric clinic. People’s lives are at stake. Sorry but there is no justification for this.

Amazing service been going for years

Nystrom requires 24 hours notice for a cancellation. I waited a month and a half for a teleheath appointment. I confirmed the appointment the day before. Less than 6 hours before my appointment, they called to tell me they are cancelling my appointment because the psychiatrist, “can’t make it today.” Can’t make a telephone call I scheduled 6 weeks ago and confirmed 24 hours ago!? That’s unacceptable. You’d think they’d offer something in the way of remediation.They did NOTHING to remedy or reschedule. They told me I could talk to the scheduling department if I wanted to make another appointment if I want, then hung up.I took time off work for this and confirmed the appointment. What is the point of confirmation and having a 24 hour cancellation policy if they don’t have enough respect for their customers to follow it themselves? The message is clear: Nystrom do not value you at all. They do not extend the trust and courtesy they expect from you and do nothing to repair or restore commitments they break. They will bill you if you don’t follow the policies that they don’t follow themselves.I will never ever recommend Nystrom for any services, and honestly believe they are causing harm to people who place their trust in them. It’s difficult enough to book and wait for an appointment a month or more in advance. Some people can’t wait that long but they do their best to push through anyway, and at the end of that journey, doing everything right and confirming their appointment, they get punched in the gut and told to start over and wait another month or longer.

I have a LOT I could say about my experience with the Woodbury location. I decided to quit the DBT program after not being well served for several months. The DBT team I worked with was wholly incompetent. They were unprofessional and dismissive. The two therapists who ran my group hardly ever came prepared to teach effectively. I could always tell they were relying on memory from the last time they taught that specific topic instead of actually reviewing the material before group. I had a huge issue with the DBT coaching line. I will sum it up by saying every time I had a problem they would suggest that I do some type of distraction activity instead of helping me walk through skills that would address the problem. I told my individual therapist that this approach wasn’t working for me on several occasions and nothing changed. When I brought my very valid concerns to my individual therapist the last time she became hostile and combative with me in session. Even when another one of my health care providers reached out to try to address the concern and see if something different could be done, my individual therapist was upset about it. She basically told me that the way they do therapy isn’t going to change just because I complained and that it was my fault I wasn’t having effective experiences with the therapy. Bottom Line: DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY, AND ENERGY WITH THIS LOCATION!

I found the Doctor’s and nurse’s to be very helpful and willing to work with me on many different aspects of my life. I All so thought everyone in the reception area to be very pleasant.The Geno test was so helpful in determining what mediations my system could handle without severe allergic Interactions.Living in the South and moving back here to my home state, It opened my eyes to how lucky we have it here.Most of all. ? The Health Care We receive.

The therapy I receive here is one of the best that Ive ever received and I have been in therapy since I was 10 years old. The counselors are very sensitive to your feelings and they invite welcoming conversation to help you deal with your life on a better term.

My family has been with nystrom for 5 years. And the last 2 years of services have been terrible because physcritic. We just had Im home worker quit and we got no support from supervisors or bosses it terrible. They only care about there staff and not their clients.

Its a great place to get the help you need, from counseling, therapy, nutrition. The pharmacy could use a little help in phone service. Saw one lady eating while talking to a customer on the phone. Not very professional.

The professionals that you rely on to save your life, are just not wise or intelligent enough, they dont listen to you. They judge you. I would never come here, this place should be shut down for many reasons. The med management is a joke, therapy is a joke, especially when they dont speak to each other while they care for the same person, and are in the same building and company. I would never recommend this place. I highly recommend that if you want help, need help, you go somewhere else. Peace and healing.

Waited over a month for an inperson visit, and took the day off work unpaid. Called the morning of to confirm the office location. Said it was over the phone appt, which I specifically told when making appt we needed in person. Then I remembered I booked thru the chat on their website and took screen shots. Finally found the screen shot and yes suppose to be in person appt. Called them back again and they confirmed with the specific office location that the therapist wouldnt be in. My Dr office referred them but with 2.6 stars I should of known. I will be letting my Dr office know. Would not recommend!!!!

They discharged my family member randomly from the doctors care due to one missed appointment. And now they wont refill my family members medication. Abruptly stopping the type of medication my family member is on can cause potentially life threatening side effects and put the person into a state of psychosis. Disturbing and negligent. Will report to Department of Health.

This place lied to me about a balance I had, which I had no idea existed until it was like, 3 months old. They told me it was from little bits and pieces that my insurance didnt pay. So, I had my insurance contact them to find out what that was all about. Turned out that it was from a missed appointment. The last appointment I had missed I did pay off, so the only explanation for this is that they charged me for missing an appointment that I had canceled over a day in advance. To top that off, I had gone through at least 4 different psychiatrists in a year due to them leaving for no reason. Also, some of those psychiatrists were just down right unpleasant to work with. Ill be looking for a new place that can take care of me properly.

The Therapists are all leaving for a reason. The company is adding erroneous charges without telling you, overcharging on purpose for things that did not happen, and charging for entire sessions that were canceled with plenty of time in advanced - NOTE: dont cancel with your therapist - cancel with the office.

I came to Nystrom for an mental health evaluation. The whole process of checking in and paper work including seeing the doctor was very simple and everyone was just so nice. I arrived with a smile and left with a smile. Great place.

While I cant necessarily share how Ive managed to improve my mental health over the years so far Nystrom & Associates is what Ive stuck with for the past few years. The downside is if youre looking to get your self an appointment setup theres a good chance it may be weeks out due to how busy the office typically is. Ive had a handful rescheduled due to providers changing/leaving but fortunately the difference is just a few days. Another downside may be your fees per appointment (upwards of $600!) but if you have good insurance there is no need to worry.Now for the positives: sometimes it doesnt feel like youre just a number here. The staff are both friendly and helpful (as well as accepting of all types - old, young, LGBT+, couples, etc.), and its easy to get appointments setup. I also appreciate the support for FollowMyHealth because it makes it much easier on me to check forms, appointments and so on.So again Im not really in the place where I want to be in my life but I feel going here does help me. Ive had negative experiences elsewhere and those places I had very few visits with.

There is complete confusion with all the staff when I try to schedule appointments. Almost every time I schedule an appointment, the person has to ask the office manager, how to make the appointment so I wait on the phone while they train their employees on basic appointment setting.I have no idea why its so hard and why they wouldnt train people taking calls to handle such a simple thing, so important to their business. I was rescheduled 2 times because they had the wrong person when they made the appointment and wasted my time showing up once. Then the third time, I called to confirm and they told me to bring my child which is the complete opposite of what they told me before (originally told me to come by myself and I asked them three times if they are sure and they said yes). I called Fraser and they could clearly explain to me their evaluation processes. As of today, Nystrom has 2.6 stars on their google reviews. I bet someone else has gone through this before. I never would have gone here if I checked their reviews in advance. Its a sign of a bad business - a lot of bad reviews and bad customer experiences.

I am thankful for the people who work at Nystrom & Associates. I have had positive experiences with everybody I have had contact with.

Shady billing and business practices for a place that uses Christian morals as a selling feature. Its a marketing scam - they are exploiting your beliefs on behalf of their profits.

Over the 5 years of going to here, Ive come to realize this place is FULL of people who are either unqualified, over worked, or they just plain out dont care. Id advise you to please go somewhere else for your mental health care.

Nystroms is a complete joke of an organization. They treat their clients poorly and refuse to help you with the simplest of tasks. A bunch of incompetence working there. I would not recommend this organization to my worst enemy. Completely useless.

I have had nothing but a positive experience at this clinic. The staff is courteous and I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes in the waiting room. Kathy Bergeron is an excellent provider (as long as you dont mind video conferencing). I highly recommend this clinic.

I have read many negative reviews and feel that some of them might be due to high or unrealistic expectations. Also, consider the environment and the services they provide us. I think people who seek help from Nystrom tend to be in a fragile state to begin with. And when in a fragile state, expectations and actions can become distorted. In fact, I have to work on that aspect of myself.Everyone there is human and can have off days in customer service, but I felt the Woodbury office was down to earth and everyone, adminstratively, was very approachable. The lobby staff had a great sense of humor and even calmed any apprehension I might have had. Remember, they have a job to do quickly in order for each patient to get registered to be seen.My appointment was with Hilary. Im an extreme extrovert with depression. I talk a lot to process. In all my non tangential rambling, Hilary would paraphrase what she heard and she was spot on each time. I am excited to start EMDR therapy with her. I will write more after I have some sessions behind me. But I realize that every new step can be scary and I also realize that I am not there to be fixed or cured by Hilary. I am there to be enhanced and to receive tools that can help me be a better me. It really is meant to be a service partnership. I feel like Hilary is ready to invest in me if I am willing to invest in myself, which takes work.

I usually have bad experiences with places like this, but they went above and beyond my expectations. Not only was the whole staff kind and compassionate, but I was there to meet Elvis to manage my medication. Right off the bat, he was warm and attentive and made me feel genuinely cared about. He listened, and if youve been through these things, you know how priceless that is. I totally recommend the Woodbury location and Elvis in particular. Thank you so much for a great experience - I left feeling like I was in great hands.

The Front desk staff are always so sweet to me. They are also pretty fast at checking me in. One lady already knows my name really well so she just verifies my information and then checks me in for group. I really love my DBT group also it is nice to have a day where you around others who understand you. PS. Best Med manager is Vicky. She is awesome. I love her, she actually takes time to listen about your week/month and will talk about how you feel about the meds. I really do enjoy going here.

I was turned away. Told by a psychiatrist during intake I cant help you. Who says that in the medical field? Much less in mental health services? I have tried three different psychiatrists from Nystrom and Associates for medication management, all were cold and all three dismissed me as a human in need. Judging by other reviews about this company, I strongly suggest an ethics review.

Ive had the worst experience with Nystrom and Associates when it comes to providers and other staff responding to messages and time sensitive paperwork in a timely manner. Ive called many times only to be transfered all over to leave voicemails for random people, or to be told that they are working on it.It should not take 3 weeks to fill out FMLA paperwork!We will be switching providers in January because Nystrom seriously lacks an efficient system!!

I was initially very skeptical of transferring to Nystrom (due to heavy religious values that I dont adhere to). After 5 therapist leaving or transfering, I just gave up....which is the opposite of what (I thought) was supposed to happen when seeking psychological help. Not only was I consistently forced to take medications that I was uncomfortable with, they had severe side effects to the point I was hospitalized twice.Not only was I treated like a paycheck instead of a person, I was also juggled around like a clown until i just gave up and decided to seek help elsewhere.Please do not go here if youre looking for serious psychological help, this place is only good for talk therapy and even that is a stretch.Also, when you talk to others about Nystrom and theyve had the same, if not even worse experiences....probably should do your best to avoid anything with a NYSTROM logo.God, I Hate This Place

Exceptional service from the moment you walk in the front doors to walking out of the clinic. I feel on top of the world when I’m finished with my therapy sessions with Dr. Pullen. The front desk staff, especially Kate, are an absolute joy to work with.

One of the worst place ever. I was seeing a new psychiatrist and she said some harsh stuff to me. Judging me and made me end up crying. Really unprofessional! I would not recommend this place.

They seemingly create as many appointments as possible to relieve you of your money. Took 15 minutes and a simple copay at Allina to accomplish what Nystom couldnt in 4 diagnostic sessions. Work with your insurance to stay far away from this place.

I reported about one of doctor who is believe in Deaf is side effect for insomnia. Not even true, they said it is follow policy going right. Audism is not acceptable. Never come back again. I highly recommend not taking appointment from there. They investigated and replied back, they said they doing right thing. I wish have evidence to have legal action.

Been taking my son there for 7 months now. Have not had a issue once. People are nice and more then willing to work with you.

They always say it takes time to find the right therapist, but I had good luck at Nystrom and connected with mine immediately. I have high confidence that we are on the right path.

Today I bought my granddaughter to her appointment the lady at the front desk is NOT CORPORATE READY AT ALL. We were told that she has a appointment, but not at this location. Really? With that being said why wasnt we notified of this change. MENTAL HEALTH IS VERY SERIOUS, and I am very disappointed that this person approach MENTAL Health like, pass the salt.

This is the most unorganized uncaring clinic Ive ever had a family member belong to. They care a lot for their own staff situations, and their own staffs life events, but hardly care that their patients care suffers when their staff constantly reschedule appointments. When I questioned their business policies, after a few times of bogus care, because of a consistant no show therapist, my family member was suddenly dropped from their care. They have great high powered lawyers that protect their rights as care givers, and as a mental health clinic, but they hardly care about the patients they serve! Way to bite the hand that feeds you. THE WORST!! I feel sorry for the other patients.....who dont know their rights as patients. I guess we all need attornies to get medical care nowadays.

I am currently a client at nystrom and enjoy going to DBT group on tuesday mornings, the DBT group Im in one tuesdays is upbeat and i like how the group leaders carin and ben make group fun and really keep us interacted because it is kind of a early group in my opinion! My therapist Erin Setala has been very patient with me even when i come into therapy on a bad day by the end of therapy session i am usually in a better mood and smiling and laughing and joking around. i feel comfortable at Nystrom! P.S. Dr.Vicki the psychiatrist is the best psychiatrist they have in my opinion. she doesnt blow you off but wants to hear what you are uptoo and how life is going.

I love the providers, but some the front desk workers are not very good. The clinic definitely needs a remodel.

I love Nystorm and Assocaites in Woodbury Minnesota.The only problem i have is the sercuity guard needs a higher chair to sit in at the front desk since he has a new desk a new chair would be awesome.Also the front desk staff has a big turn around every couple months and the regualr staff that has been there a long time know me by name and we talk and are very friendly. Where the new staff is rude, unfriendly, and dont smile and look like they hate to be there.I have connected with all my therpist at Nystorms ans have taken classes such as the ptsd class, the intative eating class, and had arms worker to that i clicked with and grew a very good relarionship with the nurtition class, the adt class and now attending dbt class and nurtition class again cause i.missed weeks and it helps me stay on track..I also love nystorm because of the awesome staff that i have worked with the last 4 years. NYSTORM AND ASSOCAITES YOU GUYS ROCK

I just came from my 1st and will be the last appointment with a Psychologist from here. I could have talked to a fence post and gotthe same results.

The front desk has horrible communication and the practitioners have been late more than an hour on more than one occasion. But the clients get reprimanded on their attendance. That doesnt make sense to me.

Very RUDE receptionist. They talk to you like you’re a piece of trash. They don’t acknowledge you or don’t let you finish your sentence and but in. Unprofessional staff. Don’t waste your time here.

We chose Nystrom & Associates because of the proximity to our home, and Im extremely frustrated with how frequently providers change or cancel their appointments. It doesnt seem to matter that appointments are scheduled weeks in advance. Not impressed

Extremely unethical business practices am considering reporting them to state board. Would find an alternative anywhere other than this facility. My only experience was with Woodbury location but as a patient I would avoid at all costs.
