I truly hate leaving bad reviews which is why I really don’t unless I’m overly compelled to so. I find that most people (especially females) love to leave negative reviews for they get some sort of twisted satisfaction out of it. This review is merely constructive criticism in hopes that maybe things can change for the better although I doubt it for I’m simply one person. This gym needs a complete makeover from top to bottom. The air quality is terrible and all the machines are outdated. Sometimes it doesn’t even feel like I worked out because you’re not getting anything out of these obsolete machines. These machines are riddled with rust as well. The bathroom is downright disgusting and I would never step foot in their pool. The staff comes across as very untrustworthy. Every single staff member reminds you of a snake oil salesman. I can’t place blame solely on the gym. The people who come to this gym are of very low quality as well. I’m talking character wise, personality wise, hygiene wise, and anything else you can come up with. The only good thing about this gym is that it’s open 24/7. It truly boggles my mind as to how this place is still in business.
I’ve been coming to this gym for 3 years and there’s a lack of organization and customer service skills . The fitness manager Vincent is very arrogant and only cares about making money and not about retaining customers. Honestly I will never buy training sessions here again, it’s discouraging, I rather go some where more professional

This gym’s policy is not very active duty military friendly. We move often. I was told by the manager for the Garden City Location I needed to be a New York resident with a New York ID in order to use the 7 day pass given online for the New York location I signed up for. Apparently that’s hidden in the fine print. Kinda shady of Xsports Fitness. I’ll be in town for 3 months tops, why would I change my Residency and ID when I’m only here TDY on military orders. They also charge an annual maintenance fee for monthly accounts which I would be subject to. Again why would I agree to an annual maintenance charge of $49 when I will only be in town for 3 months.

Almost all there machines say they are unavailable.If u want to bring a guest, u cant come past 9pm with them. Which I was not told when I first signed up. If I was told tht I would of got two memberships instead of one.I had one of there trainers tell me that my job shouldnt matter over my health. He also said Im obese. I then asked him how I would pay him if I dont have a job if I decide to put training sessions over my job. He told me that I never even asked about pricing then said he had to leave.The whole time we were talking, he was on his phone texting his significant other.So unprofessional. Go elsewhere with ur money.

During this time of COVID the staff is not wiping down the equipments. They depend on the members to clean and no one is cleaning. The lockers and bathroom stalls are not cleaned throughout the day. The staff is doing personal training and not cleaning when they leave.

A very filthy gym. I came as a guest of a friend and was sorely disappointed. Masks are not being enforced; Not enough cleaning supplies for the few members interested in wiping down machines; trash everywhere. Very mismanaged from the looks of it. Wont be back.

Great classes. Leigh Ann is an excellent instructor. She is certified in many different fitness avenues and plans each class using this bounty of expertise. I’ve never had a repeat class with Leigh Ann! Every day is different, challenging and well planned. Leigh Ann is one of the best instructors I’ve had the pleasure to work with. Went there after the Covid closure. There five members working out in the afternoon. One wore his mask down off his face while on treadmill. Place was still a mess and didn’t look safe.
Poorly run gym. They never open on time on the weekends, usually 20-45 min late. A lot of broken machines and overall very dirty. Find a different gym.
I did follow up via email on Thursday morning of last week, as the below reply recommended. It is now Wednesday night (almost one full week and nearly 96 hours later). XSports customer service is absolutely abysmal. I have never had a worse customer service experience with any other company. I have never even felt compelled to complain about any other customer service experience--not even during COVID-19, when so many businesses have understandably faced more operational obstacles that may have temporarily compromised their typical standard of service.
I have been going to XSport for over 8 years. I’ve had PT, taken X-It classes and love, love the group fitness classes. The class schedule works for me with a variety of formats every evening and weekend, especially since I work in NYC.The instructors are all great, very knowledgeable and always push me to be my best. They are true professionals who care about results and proper form. Gail, Sonia and Tara have been there the longest and will challenge you with every class. Edna and Jeannine are amazing Yogi’s and Ruben is an all around superstar. I’m not a spin or Zumba person but people coming out are sweating and smiling. Natalie the group fitness manager, keeps adding new talent, so really every class is worth it !It’s also great that I can use both LI locations for no additional charge. That’s a bonus! My husband and sons also joined and go often. We feel comfortable and see results. The managers and staff are friendly and we always feel welcome.

I love this place! They have so much equipment, they offer great personal training session packages. The trainer I have Matt is a true professional who shares his vast knowledge of nutrition and bodybuilding with you. I signed up with the General Manager Pete who was very professional and hardworking. I even noticed him walking the gym picking up weights and trash. He really cares and takes pride in the place. They offer great cross fit classes, yoga, pretty much everything any of the other high end gyms offer for a better value and price. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Well, dont waste you time going to the xsport fitness of garden city at 5:00AM they open late every day. Good thing LAfitness opens at 5:00AM oclock now
I really love going to this gym. It has a variety of equipment, I still havent gotten to try all of them. It recently got new lights and a fresh coat of paint so it looks great! I started going to the gym around a year ago, I had no experience and was intimidated. I couldnt do a single push up. I decided to hire a trainer to help get me started (best decision!). My trainer (Shane) has been a godsend. I thought I would only use her for a month or so, but Im still with her. Her sessions are never boring, she challenges me, encourages me, and is explains what were doing (which really helps me when I work out alone). My advice for all the newbies that want to get in shape - get a trainer.

The dirtiest gym i have ever joined. The equipment are old, rusty, and in need of some wd40 to stop them from making so much noise. I dnt even see anyone cleaning/sanitizing the machine
Been with this gym since 2014. They’ve replaced their machines a year ago and feels like there’s less cables now. They also stopped giving out towels. Can get crowded at night and the showers sometimes smells like piss. Steam room,sauna, pool, jacuzzi are great. For 17 bucks a month if you sign up two years, it’s still a pretty good deal despite the cons.

Very accommodating when you sign up. Ready to help and get you personal training and other services. Basically when you are spending money they help you. I needed to cancel after 2 years of membership and the manager Sean would not sign my cancellation form because I came to the gym after 6 pm. I was there at 7 pm. @$$!
Open 24 hours. Off peak hours are best for minimal contact and assure availability in Steam Room, pool, Jacuzzi, etc. Check out classes! I havent taken advantage of the Spa services, but look forward to.
The manager presented false advertising and coerced me that it was an excellent deal on Black Friday to sign up with them. After one month I had 400 dollars in membership dues and after 3 months it was 720. I wanted to cancel right a way and couldn’t. I had to pay 1500 dollars in total for services that I will never use and if I stayed with them the bill would keep increasing. The manager didn’t care, no one helped me, they just want money. They used my innocence and distorted the truth and manipulated me into something wi cannot afford. If I knew it would cost this much I would never have signed. NEVER!!!!They don’t care about you!!!
For the price, amenities, the number of well maintained free weight stations and machines, and the hours of availability this is a complete gym. There is something for everyone from the most experienced meathead to a beginner and I credit the gym for helping me achieve and exceed my personal fitness goals. Its great to be able to go to this gym, complete a full workout and then decompress in the steam room/pool/hot tub. A consistent routine for my day that makes working out that much more enjoyable.Caveats, I will say that lockerroom cleanliness can be an issue but I believe that the positives clearly outweigh that issue.
I join XSport just about a month ago signed up with Rob one of the managers ... i signed up to be a member paying $499 and a dollar down payment for 2 years ( $20 a month over two years which rob broke down for me ) and with a personal trainer that supposed to be $51 a month which i no problem paying, a month goes by and $251 is drawn from my account and another $49 as well i didn’t want to believe that this gym is a scam but it truly is just money hungry they will say anything to you to sign up and charge you. I’ve went back today to see if i can get out of my contract also willingly ready to pay for a cancellation fee... I was under the impression I was paying for only a personal trainer monthly for $49 but I’m paying for both membership and personal trainer monthly which i did not sign up for very dissatisfied
This gym has the potential to be great, however the bathrooms and locker rooms are filthy. There is little to no hand sanitizer and always seems to be short on paper and sanitizing sprays to clean the equipment before use.It may be cleaner at the earliest times of the day, but in peak times or closer to the evening the gym will be filthy. The lack of care in maintenance shows that the gym doesn’t care about guests well being. Will be canceling my membership ASAP.

Good gym, very big with ample machines for anything you need even during peak hours. huge row of treadmills and a lot of weights with multiple different rooms so you can get the machines you want. also has a pool, basketball court, classes etc. membership not too pricey. also handicapped accessible entrance
Woulda been 5 stars, they got everything you could want ina gym, knowledgeable staff, good equipment and all the amenities EXCEPT FOR ONE, NO WIPES, impossible to clean any machine before you use it because they simply don’t stock any wipes, even the hydro massage beds will show a prompt on the screen to wipe the bed after your done, But there’s not a single wipe in the facility, easy to fix and hope it will be

I joined this gym for the pool and yoga classes but to my surprise, the equipment is excellent too. Its very clean. I always see the maintenance staff cleaning the locker rooms and if there is anything I tell the front desk and its taken care of. I love the spa and all the great deals they offer. As for the staff, I think they are nice and friendly. I definitely enjoy my workout here.

Me and my wife went to sign up and everything was going good, but we got a phone call that our 1 year old hit his face when he fell and that he was bleeding. Instead of letting us leave to tend to our child or “advisor” or salesman whatever he was took my wife’s credit card and ran to wherever he did as we were trying to leave. Not sure if he ran it yet but super sketchy!!!!!!If he didn’t run it I’d be happy to delete this review and give y’all a good one cus other than that he was great and very knowledgeable.Not name dropping yet cus idk if he did run it or not so I don’t wanna make it personal just yet.

The management sucks at this location. The employees are misleading and always trying to trick you into false advertisement. One of the managers informed me many of the employees have been fired but I already was familiar with many of the employees (that have given me false information) and they are still there. When I told this to the manager he tried to tell me so you know then why didn’t you say anything. This place is horrible. I would not recommend this facility.
If you are a gym rat, youll find yourself at home. However, if you care about atmosphere, smell, and machine frequency, these are all very limited. It does smell like sweat and chlorine because its located in a basement. Poor ventilation clearly. Its a round about gym.
My experience with Garden City Xsport has been horrible. I can see why their reviews are rated extremely poor. I was over charged payment a few months ago. The manager Pete has not been any help in resolving my issue. The only thing he is good for is giving you the run around. He directed me to corporate customer service who I never heard back from. There is absolutely no accountability.
Its a nice gym but once you need to cancel your membership they make it hard for you to do so.I moved far from the gym and cannot make it in time to cancel within their required hours and now I need to MAIL in a letter bc they need a signature?! Why isnt my name, date of birth and address enough to cancel????? This is ridiculous!😡
Small issue. The members keep moving the small dumbells out of the dumbell area. I can never find a 20 lbs to use.
Avoid signing up for 2 years. My biggest regret to this day. This gym is horrible. First off you will barely get cell service down here and they are too cheap to get a couple wifi extenders so theres actually range throughout the gym. The locker rooms are disgusting always smells horrible sauna and steam room as well. There is one water fountain and they refuse to fix it. The water is lukewarm and tastes like chlorine.Youll never find a pair of matching dumbbells as they are scattered across the whole gym.Towels are gross and disgusting looks as if theyre over a decade old. Its always freezing under certain machines because the fans are always on full. You warm up and instantly cool down due to this. The whole place smells like and old basement, do the vents not work? It also wouldnt hurt for them to buy a couple new pieces of equipment, maybe a safety squatting bar or a couple new attachments like mag grips considering most gyms have these basic things. I dont understand how theyre still in business. The gym needs a major rework to survive.

Xsport has been my home gym for about 2 years now and I am still completely satisfied! The gym is huge and has so much to offer. It is constantly being cleaned by the staff and the ladies showers/locker room is always kept up to par. My favorite part of Xsport is the classes they have to offer. The yoga classes are amazing! The 7:30 am Thursday yoga class is my favorite with Dena C. She really takes the time to help you with poses and encourages us to listen to our bodies during the class. I also always look forward to the 9:30 am Friday class with Heather A. She is so much fun and her class is the perfect mix of yoga/ a good time.ps- Bring back the towels!
Just signed up to XSport Fitness, after paying around 550 dollars, I attempted to work out but am unable to do a proper work out because the free weights are all over the building. The cable machines do not appear to have been updated or maintained. I attempted to tan seeing as I paid for the sauna package the tanning bed doesn’t work. I informed the front desk about the free weight area and was informed that they had been cleaning up all day. With how large the staff appeared it’s very understandable that there isn’t enough man power to keep up with the clients that have absolutely no gym etiquette. I will be going in early tomorrow to cancel my membership and go back to my old gym, they may not have had all of the amenities this gym offers but at least it was well maintained and organized.
I really wish the steam room and sauna was cleaner because it can truly get disgusting and unsanitary. But besides that I liked this facility. Decided to give up my membership for planet fitness though.

The gym is huge but they still have limited equipment. They are quick to sign you up for the gym, bill your card, or update billing info right in the gym. However, when it comes time to cancel, thats something they CANT (wont) do on site. Instead, you have to write a letter, mail it out certified mail to some other state, and then wait for the membership to cancel. During the waiting period, you might get billed for another month. Avoid this place.
Very rude customer service price to high the locker smell like rat. They don’t share weight. Some customer they are paranoid when they think they don’t no one be there in there ways. They think the own the place. Is nasty there since 2008 no more going I’m Maybe go to another gym better than this one
Theres a lot of machines and plenty of different equipment but its almost always a complete mess with plates and dumbbells everywhere and in the wrong place and some of the employees are sketchy.... It was 5 stars in every way when it first opened years ago and for a number of years but it really slipped and isnt what it used to be any more.
As a member, the last thing you want to see is dirty towels scattered all over the locker room floors especially at evening and night time! The bathroom stalls are dirty, might as well use the showers. The overall staff is okay, but management aren’t friendly, and constantly on their phones while the weights are all over the place.PS. I can’t wait for member services to reply to this message, when infact they need to shake up management, together with their professionalism and organizational skills at this location!
I am giving two stars because of the following. To their defense I only had a 7 day pass and it could have been an off day or two. There is plenty of equipment, which is great, that is not the problem. The main issue I had was that the whole gym smelled like a sweat sock. I understand it is a gym, but it was to the point it made me nauseous. The deals arent bad at all, but the odor is a deciding factor unfortunately.
Last week (week of 7/1/19) I would’ve given this gym 4 stars not 5 only because they allow people to enter the pool/jacuzzi in their underwear. Literally about half of the guys wear their dirty sweaty underwear that they worked out in. Chlorine kills their germs but doesn’t help me with the damn that’s nasty factor but now why only one star. Well, the gym ceased towel service which was a big plus. So, take away 2 stars for that. Along side the 24/7 operation that was pretty cool, now it’s gone so why stay but that leaves me with 2 stars. Take away another star because the sauna works about half of the time and on the weekends you can’t bet on it. So that leaves me giving xsport Roosevelt field only 1 star rating. If you do the 2 years for $520 I’d say that’s not too bad but doing the month to month is not worth it at all.This review is honest and fair. I do not work in a gym I’m just kinda fed up with xsport. Looking for another gym ASAP.

Weights are all over the place, not only is it crowded, but it’s crowded full of ratchet ghetto people from queens. No one here is local.... place went to hell because of there cheap promos...Not like how I remembered in back in 2008 when it was clean neat and organized. This gym is turning garden city hood. Normally, I dont write poor reviews but this has been the worst customer service I have ever had. I went into this gym for the 7 day free trial and ended up signing up for PT and the membership. Based on what I was told I thought I was getting a great deal. Given lots of things I am unhappy with - cleanliness of the gym, this never-ending product and supplement pushing, being given misinformation or half-truths and just being given the run-around- I decided I wanted to cancel.I was told to come in then when I went into the gym, I was told to call corporate. I called corporate and this is where everything went even more downhill.The service agent told me that my frustrations didnt matter and that they only honor whats in the terms and conditions- cancelling due to being medically disabled or needing to relocate. When I asked what can be done since I am frustrated with my service, she told me that this is a monitored line and doesnt what things to get crazy online so she will try to talk me down but she wont do anything about my membership.What kind of business practices are these? If Im paying for a service and unhappy with it, how can you tell me that thats too bad but you wont do anything about it.I will never recommend this gym.
I signed up this gym when they just started. I paid $1500 for the package including massage and so on. I was busy and travel a lot so I never get a chance to come back. When I came back. They told me sorry your massage payment is no longer good when I tried to use it. I was like you joking. They said corporate policy. How is that a policy when you paid them in advance? So I ignore that and paid for new membership again.For the price $420 membership 2 years was okay. However, they DELETE my second years FREE membership. I though I paid for 2 years as promotion but end up telling me SOMEONE DELETE the second year. Gave me a run around for weeks, ever time I came in I have to see someone. I quit coming to this gym for this reason. There shouldnt be like this with their loyalty customer. Steam room broke down all the time which is sad. Getting me back to this gym again is going to be hard unless they are serious about correcting their policy.
Staff is the worse, i went back as a 7 days guess pass 08/16/2017 around 7 pm to see if service has changed, the sales guy was so consistent to sing me up is unbelievable, and once i told him i used to be a customer and i wanted to give it a try one more time as a guest, he did not let me use the gym unless i sing up.and so i decided to go to LA fitness as a guest and sing up after which is just few min away and dont regret it. LA fitness is way better.Xsport should consider training their staff before putting them to face the customers!

I quit months ago for the same reason everyone is complaining about. Ive been a member on and off since 2006, but back then I quit because of personal reasons. The last time was completely because of the quality of the gym. No longer were the days that it almost felt like a gym at an Equinox level. Now between the quality of the equipment, the cleanliness of the gym, and overall atmosphere, it just felt like I could get the same level of service at Planet Fitness. And honestly, I do have a better experience there now.
I should give them 0 stars. I just realized Xsports Fitness garden city has been charging me an extra $100 a month, even though i never signed up for this training. I called the manger and he said you must come in to discuss, we cant discuss over the phone, what nonsense! These people are straight up con artists. Id trust Bernie Madoff before I trust them.
Im writing this as I was just put on hold for a ridiculous amount of time until I hung up, except this isnt the first time, in fact they do this almost every time I call in as if its a method.From great to horrible. Ive been a member here for almost a decade, and in the last 2 years there has been a massive decline in the overall quality of the gym that my time with them is up and I dont recommend anyone to sign up. They used to be clean, have great customer support, and people there were nice.Then they made the worst move - offering a 2 year membership for $400, or as they like to put it buy one year get one year free.The gym is now overcrowded as hell, the once helpful staff now just puts you on hold until you hang up, theyve become disrespectful to members, and the hygiene is UNBEARABLE. After being there for about 10 years now, I can confidently say they havent changed the towels since I became a member. The towels are DISGUSTING - BLOOD STAINS AND NASTY SPOTS - and not to mention they used to be white towels with orange stripes - now theyre black towels from how dirty theyve gotten and zero consideration by the the management or staff of this place to even care to change these disgusting towels.Theyve removed about half of their tvs if not more.The jacuzzi used to have a waterfall and used to be clean, they took out the waterfall and now I always find gross hairs and garbage in the Jacuzzi that its too disgusting to even use anymore.Yes they have a basketball gym but Im sorry if you think youre going to get a game in, and if you do, expect the game to just be fighting and yelling the whole time - not to mention they havent gotten new basketballs for members to use since they probably opened.if you even slightly care about hygiene, want a DECENTLY respectful staff, or want to be in a gym that isnt overcrowded and actually want to use the machines - do not even consider signing up here. I made the mistake of recommending this place to my friend a few years back before I realized the horrible change they were going through and I would never do that again.

I have been a member of this gym for a long time. I love the atmosphere although I have to say that some of the staff, specially the girls that work there, have a very rude and nasty cold attitude with the members. My biggest problem though is with the space in the gym to do floor exercises. I used to do my abs in one of the class rooms (studio 1) early in the morning, before 8 am. Actually there were many other women with me in the room doing this floor exercises at this time in the morning. One morning, one of the guys that clean the gym came in the room and told me I was not aloud to be there. I asked him why? I pay my monthly membership, and I should be aloud to use the gym facility freely. Still, he asked me to leave the room and locked it. The next morning, the door was unlocked... I went in to do my floor exercises. Then. one of the instructors of the gym came in and asked me to leave the room. She said that I could not be in the room and that was a corporate rule. Two days after the room was open again, I did try to go in but then a blonde girl with a very very rude attitude locked the door and told me I was not aloud in. She was VERY RUDE.. .I did write a complain to the X sport corporation asking them to fix this problem I want to know why, if I pay my membership am not aloud to use all the facility freely. I was never told, when I signed up, that I could not use parts of the facility. I still have not received a response to solve my complain ........

I start the week with Ruebens two awesome classes on Sunday, Heathers kickboxing on Monday, back to Rueben on Tuesday for fun dance class, challenging and fun spinning with Natalie on Wednesday, on Thursday Zumba with the lovely, always smiling Jasmine, Friday spin with Heather (when I can wake up early) then Danielle step/kickboxing, and always end the week with Jasmines amazing Zumba. And I absolutely LOVE when Gail comes back for her pop up Step class. Her class is so much fun that I sometimes drive all the way to Massapequa!!! Thanks for all of the options!!!
I tried cancelling my trainer membership before even starting the sessions. When I went in to do so, I was told by the staff I have to call. First time I did, I was on hold for about an hour. Person told me I had 3 days to cancel. I told the person no one ever informed me of that. All I wanted to do was cancel the training, not my membership. But, honestly, Ive had so many problems with them in the past I dont think its even worth to have a membership anymore. They give a whole speal about caring for their clients, but all they want is your money. Theyre so pushy too! They purposely make it difficult to cancel. And after reading other reviews about people trying to cancel and getting told different things (...when I went to cancel, I apparently had to sign in for a few days and even go through a personal training session which I did. Now theyre telling me I have to contact corporate in order to request a refund. ...they dont accept phone cancellations...) it really makes me appalled.
Its an ok gym the good about it is that is open 24/7. But is the most messy place Ive ever been, never paper in the dispensers or disinfectant, very dirty.
I came to Xsport as a member many many years ago and moved away from Westbury, then came back in the area, so wanted a short trial to test out the gym to see whats new and such.The staff member I met with is Jason. He offered me a $1 trial for like two weeks and said on August 15th, my trial expired and Id be billed the $39 per month.However, I ended up making sudden new plans to move to a new state and decided it was not worth paying for a membership in Long Island since Im moving in a couple days (I had that conversation with Jason on August 14 I believe).He gave me the option to freeze my membership so the next time Im in town I can just come in and it would continue from where it left off.However, I just checked my bank account and it turns out that even though Jason told me I had a membership for $1 until August 15, he charged me on August 7 for $39.95 the full monthly member price, then for some reason on August 16, two days after I froze my membership, he charges me $49, and then I currently now have a pending fee of $39.95 again as of writing this on September 8.This is unacceptable and is fraud. I dont know if Ill get back my pending and previously made fraudulent charges but I do know Xsport Fitness is done receiving payments from me and I will do my best to ensure the person responsible for this fraud is held accountable.If someone from XSport actually does read this, I have no problem updating this review if you just refund me my payments because I actually liked working out at your gym, but until you refund me all my fraudulently charged money, I must let others know to avoid this. Thank You.****************BY THE WAY: For any Yelp readers wondering if this gym did actually refund my money: As long as you are reading this review, it means they did NOT refund me ANYTHING.I have seen a LOT of comments to Yelp posters saying they have been sent a private message, a reference number to email with the person, etc... I am NOT interested in that. If you are from XSport Fitness and reading this review, the ONLY thing I want is my payments refunded to my bank account.Once that happens I will gladly update this review to accurately reflect the GYM and WORKOUT experience I had and remove the unresolved fraudulent charges part.But until then be very clear that I have been charged excessively and fraudulently and it has NOT been addressed. Love this gym. Pool. Yoga classes. Never wait to long for a machine. 24/7 365. Sometimes the showers and locker rooms are grimey but the amount of clients they serve I can understand that its not always clean.
