Called for assistance with vehicle registration, person answering phone was hostile and provided false information.

Went in to register an out-of-state vehicle and was in and out with my plates in just over 5 minutes. Awesome.

Very fast and professional. I had a letter from an elderly friend asking me to pick up her tabs. I had her include all the necessary information. Quick and easy.I also preordered tabs for my truck and picked them up at the same time. Two chores done at once.Well spaced inside and counter cleaned after every transaction. Good job.

I needed a replacement title after moving out of WA and realizing I had lost my original title. Long story short, the customer service was unhelpful and unresponsive, and in the end they couldn’t fulfill my request despite me following the process exactly as described on the WA department of licensing website. A total waste of time.

After having a terrible experience at Ballard Auto Licensing, I came here and they were amazing. They are friendly, helpful, and fast. They know how to do their job and don’t get confused and angry with out of state vehicle registrations. After months of dealing with delays due to Coronavirus, with their help I was able to get my new Washington plates and put them on right there in the parking lot. Thank you!

Just wanted a simple transfer on our new, very old pop up trailer. The guy didnt find an equivalent in his directories and told me to go get it appraised. All because he cant bother to do his job. Never going back.

Horrible lack of knowledge and customer service. called to find out how much it would cost to pay title/taxes/tabs for my new used vehicle per instructions on the DOL website, and they couldnt tell me over the phone. Since you have to pay in cash or incur an extra 3% fee, I thought it was reasonable to know if i needed $500 or $1000 in cash before going there. Finally was quoted $600 for the tax portion...went to another sub-agent and they charged me $300. I also had called a 2nd time and was on hold 10 min, only to be disconnected. I called back and was put on hold again. Finally spoke to someone to ask what extra sub-agent fees they charged and she didnt know. I called 2 other subagents and they were able to tell me. Even though this place is only a few blocks from me, I will not be doing business there based on the incompetence i experienced.

I have been using this office for tabs for a few years (unless I can just do it online). I have recently bought a private party car and had to do the title transfer etc.The ladies at this office were friendly and helpful. I am very good at bargaining (I guess!) and I paid very little for the car I bought. Obviously the State still wants to get the book value taxed, which is ridiculous because car prices have dropped like a stone in the past few months. The ladies at the counter gave me the information on how I could justify the amount I paid ($4k below their book value), and the transaction went without a hitch. I did have to go do a small task, but it was simple enough.Once thats done, it was a 5-minute matter, without any waiting time. I have never seen a line at this office. They charge a small fee ($5), but for a thousand dollar transaction, thats nothing for the time I didnt have to waste to go to the main office and wait. I live only a block away.Kudos to them.

The people that work here are amazing! They are always helpful and genuinely kind. The parking here is limited but there is parking around if not in their lot. I would not want to go anywhere else.

Call them for confirmation of my mailed tabs which still hadnt showed up. They told me they were scheduled for pickup not mail. I cant show up because Im at work which is why I had them mailed. They let me know that I can fax them a letter and have my roommate pick up my tabs ask what type of details to put in the letter and get a very brief answer and hangs up. Roommate gets there and suddenly this isnt an option because they need more details. Not only that but after he is able to provide the details that the lady omitted in our phone call, it turns out they were looking at the wrong account before and it was scheduled for delivery. They were able to confirm that the parcel was likely lost based on the dates but could not produce the tabs because I needed a notary in my fax saying that the documents were lost in the mail. Wasted my time, wasted my roommates time, they probably still got off work on time.

I have not had bad experiences at this office, with the folks working there being polite, friendly, helpful, and efficient. Would recommend!

While limited in the actions they can perform, the service is always excellent, and lighting fast. A great neighborhood licensing agency!
