I had a very large project all new duct work, new returns added, new Bryant System installed, moved Air Handler from inside my house to my garage it was a lot of work. My team members Danny and Marvin were fantastic, they were courteous, professional, clean, friendly and dang sure not afraid of hard work. I asked about future service I want to possibly add one more line to my laundry room and eventually a mini split to a Florida Room I plan to convert, when I get ready I will ask for Danny and Marvin specifically if that means I have to wait a few weeks then so be it. Feel like was gouged out of 400 dollars to replace a simple capacitor. The technician never did any extensive diagnostic. What a scam on the price. Will be looking into a more affordable company. Oh lastly the price was increased after the repair since they thought I was on a maintenance contract so glad that was brought to my attention after the job was done.

After buying a brand new air conditioner from this company in 2017. We have had them out here More than 10 times for the same issue. Water continues to leak into the house. At one point we were told we needed a new condensation pump. Which we bought and paid over $400 only two years after the new system was installed. Not 10 minutes after the technician left, the drain pan was again filled with water. We have saved every work ticket since 2017 from Bertie and have approximately 13 tickets and with the $100 service charge every time they come out, plus the $400 pump cost. We have paid them over $800 MORE for repairs to a new AC that THEY installed. To this day, the water is Still leaking into the house. But, we have completely given up and are out of money to keep having repairs. So. We are just dealing with the water issue.It is basically a guessing game with the technicians who dont know what is wrong with the AC unit. Previous to having this new system installed by Bertie. We had a 20 year old AC and at most had one main problem with it. Youd think a new air conditioner would have less issues

I hired the company to do the system maintenance, and duct cleaning. They sent a person out who did nothing because he was unable to find water to wash the outside unit and didnt clean the inside unit because he said was too old and needed to be replaced. After speaking with Dwayne his quote was too high so I went with another company. I however called them after the new unit was installed to clean the ducts, but Dwayne said that he will not do the duct cleaning because I did not buy the system from them. Very rude and unprofessional on the phone as I did not allow them to overcharge me for the system. Do not recommend.

Bertie has been very responsive to our HVAC needs for about 15 years now. One time, they loaned us an AC unit while our new one was on order and temps were in the high 90s. This time, they needed to come back four times to try and solve our problem and didnt charge us until they were fairly certain that the solution was viable. We have been very happy with the results. Ive had Bertie out a couple of times for maintenance. My experience has always been good. We have a really old system and they always recommend replacing, but dont complain about doing the maintenance (we had another company out and the tech whined about it the entire time). Sean came out most recently and was really helpful--answered all of my questions, gave me some tips (which saved me some money), and recommended we replace some worn out parts. Cant speak to all of their services, but definitely recommend if you are looking for someone to do your HVAC maintenance!

Bertie Heating and Cooling performed an evaluation of our A/C unit today as we approached our first year anniversary. CHRIS was the tech and did an awesome job. He was efficient,courteous,and extremely knowledgeable. Diagnosed a leak in our system which will be repaired at no cost because it was found inside first year. Really great service. We have lived in our home for almost a year. We have an annual maintenance program with Bertie Heating and Air. They come out twice a year for regular maintenance and check up of our system. I could not recommend this service or Bertie Heating and Air any more highly. The peace of mind from having our system checked and maintained regularly is priceless, especially when day after day, our outside temperature is in the 90s with the feel like temperature over 100 degrees. Today, Matthew arrived not only on time but about 3 minutes early!! I love it! Their prompt service is invaluable especially when time is money . Berties is always on their A game. Reliable, professional, prompt, and knowledgeable. They know their stuff and it shows!! Above all, they know how to treat and retain customers!! Respect!!

Ive used Bertie over the years, however this was the best experience ever. Ryan was so professional and did an excellent job explaining the current and next step. He wrote a very detailed invoice to include recommendations and future service need. He also showed me some techniques to do some self service. I will never use anyone else but him.

We have had several ac issues and we called berties and they came out quick and on the same day! That’s the positive part. The negative part is that they overcharge for everything and don’t charge hourly, they charge per job and it’s a small fortune. If money was no object, I would say call them but if you don’t want to waste your money there are plenty other cheaper options that are just as good! Really wish they would charge fair prices and they would be a great company!

We had an issue with our A/C. Service Technician, Keith Rogers was sent to diagnose the problem and get us working again. Keith was very professional and knowledgeable. He got the parts ordered and returned to fix our issue.

New home w/ an A/C unit that never worked properly; the original installer said that no A/C unit would ever cool lower than 75 degrees. Jim was at my house for less than 5 minutes and found the problem. His crew fixed it quickly at a great price. Now our A/C cool correctly and we can enjoy our house. Cant say enough about this company; I wouldnt hesitate to refer them to friends and family!

Had a horrific experience with this company. They were not on time and continued to extend the time that they arrived-- into the next day. They even misidentified the problem which left us with no A/C for days. When addressed about the issues we experienced with the company, they made jokes about not having A/C for days and even refused to acknowledge that they had made a mistake. Overall, would never use this company again. They also do not work on weekends, or evenings so do not call them if you have an A/C emergency.

New HVAC installed less than 1year ago. Have called more than once about inconsistencies in room temperatures. All they did was check air in front of thermostat in living room. Did not check air temps in bedrooms which are the rooms I complained about. I also complained that I have to turn thermostat down much lower than before new unit in order to be comfortable. Several times complained about mildew I had never seen in over 20 years of living here. I have the system that supposedly controls humidity. It wasn’t cheap. I was promised someone would call me about the duct work to the bedrooms to see if it’s sized properly. No one even called.I’ve been with BERTIE for over 20 years.They just charged me $95 for this service call and this new unit is less than a year old.Their Satisfaction Guarantee is BS.

Never will I use this company again!!!! We had a fan blade that weirdly split in half on a Saturday evening. I called this company (in confusion to another similar named company) on Tuesday, they came out charged almost $100 to see what we had already explained to them. I told them we need to get it fixed asap because my son has epilepsy (a rare condition called Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome). They said they had to order the part and wouldnt be in until Thursday. Fast forward to Thursday morning, we get a call saying it wouldnt be in until Friday and that they dont work after hours or on weekends! I admit, I was absolutely livid!!!!! We had already been sitting in the 85-90° weather for a few days now. They genuinely did NOT care. Lack of compassion! So in a panic, I called another company who WENT TO THE TRANE PLACE TO GET OUR FAN (they didnt have to wait for the order, they took initiative and went to get the fan for us from trane). This OTHER company also made us a priority and rushed to our property after already rushing to get our fan for our ac!!!! When my husband called this company (Bertie) back to cancel....they lady at the front office had ZERO clue what was going on and seemed like she laughingly said oh, there are a lot of people working here and I dont get told details of customers. So, nope, glad to say this company is just....SAD to deal with!

Our contractor used Bertie A/C for our new home construction and we couldn’t be more pleased. Their employees Ray and Marvin were extremely professional, accurate and very hard working in the awful heat of July! They were knowledgeable, honest and even cleaned up after each and everyday. I would highly recommend these gentlemen for any air conditioning work.

If I could give this company zero stars I would! I have a new home, 4 years old and the A/C was not coming on. Bertie is the company who installed the A/C in our home and in the other homes in the neighborhood (who are also having problems might I add). I called them and long story short, they fixed my A/C on a Friday afternoon. By the time I got home at 6pm it was no longer working again. I called them and they said they would have to charge me an on call fee at this point. So, then they came back out on the next day, Saturday, and claimed I then needed a new part, which they didnt know about the prior day...? Then, they came that Monday, 2 days later, to fix it and to add the part (which was under warranty) They then fixed it and charged me nearly $600. The next day the A/C wouldnt come on again. I called them and spoke with a secretary and was told the owner would call me. A MONTH AND A HALF LATER, after several calls, I finally got in touch with someone once i put a hold on the check I gave them. They offered to send someone out, again, but of course for a $95 fee which doesnt include whatever problem it may be. I said no thank you. They never fixed it in the first place. So, then they wanted the $600 they charged me to NOT FIX MY A/C! Furious is an understatement. I agreed to pay them half, which is a whole lot of nothing! BEWARE!!!

Several years ago, my family purchased a home which needed to have new air conditioning systems. We contacted Berties, along with a few others, and had them come out and give us estimates. Their salesman was nice and gave us an estimate on 2 Goodman systems. We decided to go with their company and had both a 2-ton unit and a 2.5 ton unit installed costing us $7,333.Unfortunately, when we received the bill, we found out the tech did the paperwork wrong. When we contacted the company, they told us that the salesman was no longer working for them, but after much persuasion, they fixed the billing/payment error.The salesman told us when he gave us the estimate that we had a 10 year warranty on both the systems and labor, but at a later date we were told that the labor warranty was not covered because we did not have the systems regularly serviced by Bertie.When we had another company come out to do some work on the system, they found out that the 10 year warranty from Goodman was not valid anymore because it was never registered with Goodman. We were NEVER told by the salesman that we would have to have our units serviced by Bertie in order to maintain the warranty, and we were NEVER told by the salesman or installers that we would have to register our systems with Goodman in order to maintain their warranty.Shortly after, we had to spend $1,204.00 to repair the system they sold us because the inside coil went bad. We had that replaced, and the next year had to have more repairs done costing another $100.00. We were then told that the condenser coil had gone bad on one of the outside units, and it would cost another $2000.00 to have that repaired.From the beginning, the systems they installed ran constantly and never really cooled our house sufficiently. When we contacted another Goodman dealer, we found out that the original systems Bertie sold us were not large enough for our house - they had mismeasured. The systems were constantly running, which not only ran up our utility bill tremendously, it made the units work harder than they were intended to run and led to their ruin.We had to have both systems they installed replaced with the correct size for a 2,500 square foot house, costing us yet another several thousand dollars.Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed in these circumstances. I wrote the company with my grievances and never heard anything back. With one of the biggest names in town, it would be expected that their people would do the job right and that their salespeople would be knowledgeable about the products they are selling and know how to measure accurately, and that they would fully disclose everything required of the customer up front.

Had a great experience using Bertie. Swapped out a 30y/o heat pump for an energy efficient unit. Our consultant, Gerald, was super helpful. He spent the time we needed answering questions, and took the time to analyze our house and understand our needs. Didnt push upgrades, add-ons, etc. Installers were professional and courteous. Job finished and cleaned up before lunch. Great experience! The way it should be!

I have been using the Bertie folks since 2009 when they installed a complete new A/C system. They have the most pleasant Customer Service and go out of the way when you call (even if its the end of the day) to send a technician over the same day. Chis did a terrific job this morning. He explained our options clearly and approached his work with a high level of professionalism.

I would call someone else. Bertie fixed my air conditioning unit by putting in a new motor for $800 but neglected to say that the coils on the unit were bad and the coolant was low. In four months the new motor was dead. They took ZERO responsibility for this, saying that their work was guaranteed for no more than a month, this even though the technician did not check the coolant or coils. Awhile back, this was a good company. Right now, though, they just dont stand by their work. If it were me, I would go elsewhere. Writing this review is the only way I can express my frustration.

This is a great and reliable company! The company owner took time out of his busy schedule to teach me about the different products on the market and what my home actually needed after doing a full onsite evaluation. This company will educate the homeowner and will not try to over sell. This is my annual check up of the Heating and Air Condition units that Bertie install for me 3 years ago. The system is working great today just as it did the day it was installed. Steve came to check the operational values and he explained everything clearly and completely. He was very personable and professional. Bertie Heating has been a disaster. We bought a very expensive HVAC system from them which has malfunctioned repeatedly. They have sent technician after technician out to service this system, and it is still malfunctioning.I guess were looking ay a lawsuit.

Very pleased with our new home! Occasionally during my breaks I would stop by the house while it was being constructed to watch the development. Bertie heating and air has the most pleasant employees and Matt went above and beyond to make my home exactly what I want. I enjoyed learning about how everything works. We recently purchased an older home and installed a new washer and dryer. We quickly noticed that it took 90 minutes or more to dry a load of clothes. Gerald came out and explained why the existing dryer vent was causing the issue. Apparently the vent pipe was too small, too long and had too many elbows. The folks at Bertie Air installed a new, properly sized, dryer vent pipe in just a couple hours. The guys were pleasant, professional and left my laundry room cleaner than when they arrived. The best part is that I can dry a load of jeans in about 35 minutes now! Plus, our electric bill has gone down. We would highly recommend the folks at Bertie Air.

GREAT SERVICE. Called this morning because of no heat. Chilly night. Very friendly and helpful receptionist said she would get someone out right away. The tech, Oscar, was at my door within the hour. Professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He had my problem diagnosed quickly, had the part and fixed my unit right away. I will be a customer for life.

Initially I was not going to write this review, but my experience with the owner operator yesterday has made me aware that I really need to make others aware that this is a company to avoid at all cost, and here’s why. A five year old TRANE A/C, that Bertie installed, went dead at my mothers home. She is 86 years old. I called Bertie to come out and look at it. I met the technician out there. He said he replaced a blown fuse, but would have to order a board to fix the problem and the fuse would probably blow again which it did very soon after he left. The board came in, he replaced the part, and gave us a bill for parts and labor. The system went dead right after he left. He came back and said he had replaced a bad section of thermostat wire, but the system went dead again shortly after he left. So they sent a different guy. This guy said he found a bad coil and he would have to order it. The part came in, he installed it, charged us parts and labor on a third time call back for the exact same failure, and the system went dead again shortly after he left in the exact same fashion that it had the previous times. So they sent a THIRD guy! This guy found that the thermostat wire was shorting and had damaged another board. When the part came in I was not able to meet them at the house this time because I had a work conflict. Ends up they sent TWO guys out to the house to install a board and run thermostat wire! The wire runs across an attic with a high pitch roof, through the soffit, and along the line set which is out in the open all the way to the compressor. If they want to send two or even ten guys to do a one man job that is their prerogative, but they don’t get to charge us for extra guys, which they did. Then they charged us for the board that FINALLY appears to have fixed the problem, as well as $740 for 80 ft of thermostat wire! I took the part number off of the wire they used and had several parts houses around town cross it to the product they sell. 250ft of the exact same wire costs from $50 to $70!!! So what would you do in my situation? We were charged for each of four call backs that were for the same problem, charged for two guys to do a one man job, and charged $740 for roughly $20 of wire! I hope I have already convinced you to take your business elsewhere because here is the really bad part! After over a week of trying to contact Jim, who I thought was still the owner, I got a response from him. He said he had retired, but he called the office and told them to refund my money and for me to take my business elsewhere in future. So I went into the office to get the final invoice and I was confronted by Mrs. Bertie, who apparently is now the owner/operator. She takes criticism of what her employees have done in the field as a personal insult, instead of realizing that there is a problem and fixing it. She was EXTREAMLY hostile, insulting, and unprofessional. When I asked her how she justified charging my Mother $720 for roughly $20 worth of thermostat wire, she slapped the bill the counter and said, “That’s my price, pay it, and get off my property before I call the police, or I will see you in court”. Needless to say, I’m taking option 2.

Our AC went down in the evening in the middle of August so we were preparing ourselves for a few very uncomfortable nights. I called up Bertie Heating and Air and from start to finish they were professional, prompt and provided realistic expectations for the visit. I spoke with Jennifer as the on call tech and she was wonderful! She had Gus the on call tech come out and Gus was also fantastic. I would call them in an instant if our AC went out again (fingers crossed it wont)

I had Bertie this week doing a yearly maintenance check and also to fix a problem with one of our older systems that came with the house. We have 3 air conditioning systems at our house. TJ was the person who did both jobs. TJ, like all Bertie people I have worked with, was efficient, professional, and friendly. He really did great work. I have used Bertie for years and they have always done a great job. I keep thinking one of these times the other shoe will fall - but it never does. If you are looking for a reliable and reasonably priced heating and air conditioning service, Bertie is it. I highly recommend them.

Chris was attentive and had great manners. He took his shoes off before entering my homes. He explained what he was doing and gave me a comprehensive report on the units of both homes. He didn’t know about John Gorrie, though, and that made me sad. Every HVAC professional should know about John Gorrie. I wrote John Gorrie’s biography HE MADE ICE AND CHANGED THE WORLD: THE STORY OF FLORIDA’S JOHN GORRIE. I sent a letter to Bertie’s, asking them to tell their employees about the book.

Bertie Heating and Air is our go to company for our home and business. Sometimes is can be scary to have strangers in your home but I always feel safe with Bertie. The staff is always friendly and explained everything that needed to be fixed. They also got to the house extremely fast!

Great company, customer service is A+++. Specifically the technician that came out, (Gus) I believe was his name, very respectful and courteous even after my dog hugged his leg. He educated me on how to use and program my thermostat and to set the schedules because sometimes in Florida you just need heating one part of the day and cooling the other part of the day, ( yea Im that guy)! My technician today was Gus. He was very professional and personable. I appreciated that he explained everything in question and possible future concerns. I believe in preventive measures and felt relieved with his suggestions. I have been happy with your company from the beginning. Honesty is a virture and creates good will with the customer.

Cody and Collin came to install my new unit and did a great job. They were friendly and knowledgeable and on time. Great experience.

Ive generally had pretty good experiences with Berties. They typically arrive on time or will call and see if they can arrive earlier. Theyve never tried to fool me with fixing unnecessary items. Usually they get my AC back up and running for 100-200$ and it will go a year or two without any problems. I always get worried Ill have some $2,000 bill whenever my AC goes out but Berties always take care of the problem quickly and at great prices.

I can not say enough great things about Bertie Heating and Air Conditioning. They installed a brand new unit for me, and did an awesome job. The workers were courteous and very considerate. They wore booties and laid down a drop cloth as they did the job, so that my carpet did not get dirty. When the job was done they vacuumed and took away the old unit for me. Everything was professionally done and all I have to do now is set the thermometer for how hot or cold I would like my house. An excellent job, I would highly recommend Bertie for any one who needs any heating and air conditioning work done.-Betty Jones

Berties technicians just completed the replacement of a 20+yo AC system at my parents home. Great company! Weve worked with Jim and his team for years on multiple projects for our restoration business as well as custom homes.They always do an excellent job. I highly recommend them.

I am not please by the service provided by Bertie Heating & Air Conditioning. They overcharged my friends card by over 100 dollars after coming to look at her heating and cooling unit. They informed us they do not have a part and that someone will give us a call about it the next day. The receipt they provided her states a charge for $95 but her bank statement shows $210. A call was made the next day to clarify the charge. She was told that nothing can be done at the moment because their internet is down. Another phone call was made later and they told her that theyre showing a charge for $95 instead of $210. The charge was made through an app. Im curious why a refund cannot be made for the difference they charged her? Is Matthew pocketing the difference or do they just dont want to refund it?

Excellent service from beginning to end. They call you before hand. Steve was knowledgeable and very efficient. There was no sense of pushiness trying to sell you something. A great experience. Highly recommend Berties Heating and Air.
