We lived here for nearly 3 years and always felt right at home. Thank you to Linda in the office for helping us find a place to live and for always being so nice and helpful. We will miss all the monthly events they had for the residents! If you’re looking for a super spacious townhome with an amazing office staff and overall great community, this is the place for you.

Wow!!! Had to say good bye to an amazing place I got to called my home this week. My family and I lived here for about a year and half. It was a great experience with stuff and just living there. I felt like a great community all teaming up together. I felt pretty safe here. It was always so clean. Maintenance just did an amazing job keep our community very clean. Linda, Pang, and Melissa just made me feel like we were all friends. Always asking about my kids and feeling acknowledged. I really really recommend living here!!!

The Ascent Townhomes are fantastic in every way and in a convenient area. They are relatively new and absolutely beautiful.We have been here since 2019 and I can’t think of anything to put effort into complaining about. The community is very family oriented, involved and caring. We have always felt very safe here. The office staff are like the neighbors, always helpful, friendly and accommodating. The maintenance, The same, always timely and very respectful. The grounds, pool area, beautiful brand new gym facilities, dog park and soon to be new playground accommodations are lovely, clean and well taken care of. We have loved our time here and will always recommend living here to others.

If you want a Clean and Peaceful environment, this would be the place to rent. I’ve been living here for 2+ years and have no complaints. The ones who probably complain or doesn’t like it here is those who do not abide the policies. Strict policies + property management = SAFE / CLEAN that’s all I have to say! 😊😊 Pang and Linda always hold community events for all ages to make it fun living here well!!

Lived in these apartments for two years and loved every minute of it! Apartments are clean and had no issues of bugs or rats, which if you live in Fresno you know its a problem in many areas. The apartments are big and had no issues with any of the appliances in the apartment. Maintenance is fast and easy, and the workers are really kind! They are diligent with their work and make sure the fix whatever problem you have as soon as possible. The overall ambiance is great at the complex and have had no problems with neighbors. Security is also good but I will say they dont seem to be available at times. I am not sure if this is a scheduling issue or the company itself, but security could be better. The people in the leasing office are really kind and considerate go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect for you. I have had the pleasure of interacting with Pang and Linda the most and both of them are great! Overall this was a great apartment complex to live in!

We moved here during the sell of a house for a quiet place to live. For an apartment, I suppose it is quiet. But the walls are as thin as a motels because we can hear one neighbor snore at night, and if another has kids, you can hear them running up & down the stairs & slamming closet doors. This is not managements fault, per se, because they cant control residents. Just something to be aware of. Security is generally responsive to anyone playing overly loud music, but we wish they had a guard at the gate to help control the speeders, of which there are many in this area. Be careful at stop signs. Again, no fault of management; its people and their behaviors. Previous reviews suggested bug problems, but weve seen zero bugs. Our unit was renovated before we moved in, and as others move out, the units are also renovated. The updates are nice, but the appliances are on the cheaper end, being pretty noisy when running. Management tries to keep the grounds clean, and for the most part, they are really nice. But again, people and their behaviors, not picking up after pets, letting trash flow out the garbage receptacles, letting kids make messes. If you call the office, they have maintenance clean it up, but people really need to do better.One criticism that does go to the owners is that when you pay your rent online (as they encourage), you are charged a fee. For the price you already pay, this is rather ridiculous.As for the negative reviews of charges on move-out, we will see what happens when we get there. Although freshly painted, this is the worse paint job with drips and runs that Ive ever seen. Some places also look like they switched between gloss & flat and dings were not properly filled in & sanded before painting. And though the carpet is new, it is the cheapest kind out there & looks bad after being walked on once. All cosmetic and you would hope not to be charged for their workmanship...

Our family loves living here! The renovations are beautiful, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and the location is ideal for easy access to tons of restaurants and stores. Also, we have two large dogs, Ascent was the only place that we found that would allow us to have them (no weight restrictions!).Each month the staff tries to put together a community event to help residents connect, have a little fun, and usually enjoy eating some kind of snacks. During this time where everyone is trying to stay home more, its really nice to get out and spend some time with our community in a safe way!

This is the most trash apartments EVER!!! They are the worst and very unprofessional and making living here horrible they don’t fix anything and security does not secure absolutely anything!!!

New ownership and they have been wonderful. Very friendly and always helpful. The new amenities are looking wonderful and the property is always clean and presentable. Tip of the cap to the office staff and maintenance crew.

I kept hearing bad things about this place before moving in but i can confirm that the bad comments came because of the previous owner. Linda at the leasing office is super friendly and helpful. The townhome are very updated and clean environment with great amenities.

They are letting thief come and live here I haven’t seen security walk /drive around. Our kids Halloween decorations go stolen off of OUR FRONT DOOR. All they said they’ll look around and that’s I can set a camera. If you live here don’t even bother to decorate.

Linda is one of the nicest people around. She is really good at her job make sure you talk to her when going to look at this place.

Oddly enough I read all the reviews before making an appointment to go see an apartment. Something I never do Im not a fan of reviews but I have nothing but positive things to say and cant wait to move in mid June.

The townhouses are very nice, lawns are well kept. The staff is super nice. We recently had some heater issues that Jose quickly took care of. He was thorough and polite & it was greatly appreciated

Thanks to former reviewers, your reviews are 100% accurate!! Your reviews saved me from a miserable home experience. I had a very positive experience learning about units in the Phoenix Townhomes yesterday. Today, I returned with completed forms, application fee and deposit. And the owner/manager (a tall thin Caucasian woman) was in the lobby area treating potential applicants like a tyrant. She said to them, ”I’ll take your $40, your $40, and your $40 and if you dont list a date or is any yellow area is is complete, I’ll deny your application. It doesnt matter to me, because Ill have your money if you dont want to listen.” This is unacceptable behavior and conduct unbecoming a professional. I was appalled. Im looking for a suitable community for my mother to live. I REFUSE to tolerate such disrespect. My mother and I silently walked out. On to the next community.

Never had any problems with anyone here no bugs or anything that I seen. maybe the people complaining about bugs need to be more clean. Im still living here so I can say its a cool place for me people that say its dirty should live in the ghetto were I was raised then they can see the difference.

Moved into the Phoenix Townhomes in October of this year (2019). So far this community seems to be good. The property is under new owners, and management is friendly. The property is nicely maintained, and new amenities are in the works. Downfall is that Im assuming the price of rent may increase to compensate. Only complaint I would give is that parking is QUITE limited, you cant even park outside the gates on the sides, and that someone keyed one of our cars. Not sure if its due to the limited parking, just feel like people shouldnt act immature like that.9/27/20 update-The now Ascent Townhomes, is such a nice community. The staff are SUPER friendly; managers, owner, maintenance, so some of these reviews are WAY outdated because the new owner is so nice. The upgrades are awesome, we have a grandfather apt, but the newly remodeled ones are very nice. We have a dog, so we absolutely LOVE that we have a dog park now! And its such a convenience to have amazon lockers, because we order from Amazon all the time lol even tho the gym is currently unavailable due to COVID, the remodel is awesome! The pool/cabana area is relaxing, and a kiddy playground is soon to come. Only downfall is still the parking, but overall I still enjoy living here (:

Been here for over a year. Office staff handles any concerns in a quick and friendly manner. The grounds are always kept clean. There is regular maintenance done and things are kept in working order. Nice quiet community. Only con would be the lack of visitor parking after 6 pm on weekdays.

Will try anything and everything to keep your deposit and charge even more. Tried to stick me with 24 months worth of carpet cleaning service. On top of that their pet deposits are non refundable. .. and expensive

I had a similar experience as other reviewers. The place appeared so nice and so I overlooked the bad reviews. I always leave places that I live in clean condition and I have always had my security deposit returned to me, so I figured it did not apply to me. However, none of that matters here, because it seems that their intention is to ensure they keep your security deposit at all costs. This place does not appreciate your tenancy, you are just a rent check and a security deposit. While you live here, you will get a notice for everything, including family visiting if they dont have a permit on their car. They will even threaten to tow away cars. Further, there are so many rules here, you will feel like living in a assisted living community. The apartment they give you is nowhere as nice as the model they show you, keep that in mind. The oven and the fridge are so outdated that they are barely functional. We had to buy our own fridge since the one that came in the apartment was so tiny. With all these things that my significant other and I experienced here, we found ourselves hating this place and could not wait until our lease was up. When it finally ended, we were so excited! However, Phoenix Townhomes made the move out process a nightmare too. They did a walkthrough and despite acknowledging the apartment was clean and nothing was damaged they proceeded to not only withhold our security deposit but they tacked on additional fees!!! They charged nearly a $200 move out cleaning fee and about the same for Paint life?? In all the places I have lived, I have never heard of a paint life fee. These charges are ludicrous, you should not have to pay for them to improve the apartment, you only pay if there are problems in addition to normal wear and tear. (Check the CA codes!!) This place absolutely does not understand tenancy rights and normal wear and tear does not come out of a security deposit. I cited this to them and they essentially said there is no evidence of the way I left the apartment and so I will have to pay the charges. They are incredibly rude at that. The lady in charge is the most condescending individual I have ever had the misfortune of interacting with. BELIEVE THE REVIEWS!! Unless you basically want to have your every move scrutinized at the place you call home in addition to having to pay hefty fees upon move out, AVOID THIS PLACE!! I had the intention of suing them in small claims court, but I wanted nothing more to do with this place.

Please please please read the reviews in detail and believe. Save yourself from making the biggest renting mistake of your life. Stay away from this place. The tall old racist blonde lady will keep all your deposit and even add more fees so u end up owing. She claims to be the manager but shes the owner of the townhomes.

So many cockroaches coming from every where. Didnt see them until we moved in that day. Things are not what they seem here. We Thought things were okay then as days went on I see why so many people complain about this place. Just another complex trying to get money from tenants any way they can even if its for made up charges. Many Spiders and cockroaches inside our unit.

They try to charge you a ridiculous fee saying they replaced carpet. They charge you for “paint life” and that’s another ridiculous fee.I did not pay that extra fee they were asking for. When you ask for evidence of why they need to replace carpet they say they don’t have any, DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THEM DONT PAY. If you know you left carpet in normal wear and tear condition don’t pay! Take video upon move out, take pictures!!!I asked for all statements of carpet replacements and estimates, they handed me an estimate that was done August 29 for carpet replacement that my townhome apparently needed. I didn’t move out till September 3rd!!!!! Goes to show that they already knew what they were going to charge for carpet that I left in good condition! They never did a walk through after I moved out, there was no signature on the last page of my contract, ask for a copy of your contract! LOOK AT EVERYTHING, nothing in that contract states you have to pay remaining carpet lifeWhen I spoke to the owner she was so rude! I told her I wasn’t going to pay and she said “that’s fine sweetie, it’ll just go straight to collections” once she said that I got super upset and knew she wasn’t going to get away with thisI did not pay, I talked to family lawyer and sued them. Don’t be afraid to take them to small claims court! Court fee to file paper work is only $30 and super easy to do!The rude and so unprofessional owner of the property got served with court papers and within one week of being served she emailed a letter saying it was their fault and that they didn’t have evidence so they returned my whole depositThey obviously did not want to go to court because they would be further investigated and they knew they were in the wrongSo upsetting how they can ask for your money knowing you left their property in good conditionSo disappointed with this property and I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE

Do NOT move here!!!! They screw you over majorly when you move out and dealing with the older lady with the short blonde hair is torture, she is so rude and she also thinks she can tell you what to do down to the way you speak!!!!!!! Yes!!! I said that right.. I slipped up and said a curse word while we were in the office at the very end and she corrected me!! That is not appropriate language miss. Ummm... Excuse me!!!?? Last I checked. You have no right to tell someone how to speak.. You are not my mother!!!! Lol! Oh and watch out!!!! If you have pets...this screw you over the most. You think youre paying a pet deposit of 700 dollars to go towards any pet damage at the end. . WRONG!! She tells me. No.. That was pet rent and doesnt go toward anything!!! The only Amount that goes toward anything is the regular deposit!! Then she tells me.. The carpet is going to be 1600 dollars. .maybe more!!! They say it has to be fully replaced!! Lies!!!! Seriously you guys.. Do not move here!!! Also another thing.. You cant ever have anyone visit because they will tow their car away for parking in one of the parking spots right next to your house! PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!!! This place may seem nice looking on the outside, but beware, its not what it seems. the interior is outdated. Roaches are problem. Even after they spray the insecticide thats supposed to keep the insects at bay, those pest somehow make there way inside the unit. Even in the light fixtures!!. The garbage disposal kept breaking even after I told them I dont use it. How I know it was inoperable, the water wasnt going down the drain so when i turned on the garbage disposal, nothing. At least 10 times I had the maintenance man in my unit trying to get it fixed and never once did they say it needs to be replaced. It needed to be replacedLike many others, the will RIP you off upon move out. My place, after 3yrs years, was in GREAT shape. I cleaned everything with the exception of the grates inside the oven. But even then it doesnt equate to what they charged me. They still managed to tack on charges. The maintenance man who did the walkthrough with me had the audacity to tell me they would have to charge me to clean the windowsoutside. WHAT?!!!!! Charge mother nature, not me! So, basically they charged me to have the carpet shampooed and replaced and to iv ave a cleaning crew come in. Remind you, no pets. Carpet is in great condition. Walls are holeless and paint is great. Pretty much they are having the tenants foot the bill that would take management to replace the carpet and clean. Absolitely ridiculous.I was pissed. So they ended up deducting $275 from my security deposit. What a waste of a place.

Be very cautious of this property.Poorly operated. All deposits are kept. The owner had thier maintenance employee lift and sniff the carpet, I have recording to prove it. Even after he said nothing was discovered as pet damage, the deposit was kept and a cleaning bill sent. Will unfairly file negative rental history on residents.

This could be a decent complex if it were not for the Commandant Apartment Manager with an attitude (think Colonel Klink, Hogans Heroes). She loves putting notices on your door. Forget having friends visit, visitors without a parking pass will be towed. You cant get a pass if you have a normal job because manager works bankers hours. I shorted my rent by $5 and I had a letter on my door demanding their $5 the following day. I overpaid for 6 months and they never mentioned the overpayments until I brought it to their attention. I hope you like roaches and a nosy insulting manager. I cant wait to leave!

The worst apartment ive ever lived in, u will find cockroaches every where .. ive even found one on my bed!!!!!!!! Its disgusting!!! Plus you really dont wanna deal with the manager!! Ohh n Forget about ur deposit ive heard that before but didnt believe it until it happened with me! After the horrible months i spent in their source of cockroaches homes being calm n respectful all i got at the end is just rudeness! Trust me stay away of Phoenix homes.

Even if you clean that place to the teeth, they will find a way to rip EVERY PENNY out of it and make you pay extra. Make sure to review your local California state law, as they try to do MANY illegal practices to take extra money out of your pocket.It rained and your car got a little dirty? Expect a note on your car (saying its in your lease) to keep your car clean... Are you serious?Want peace and quiet? Forget that. They have the gardeners come at CRAZY HOURS in the mornings and afternoons. If you want a regular sleeping schedule, and your apartment is near the street, get ear plugs.Appliances are old and miserable. The fridge rattles on its own and the water heater has HUGE calcium deposits that make it INCREDIBLY LOUD. Since we have a middle unit, our water heater was upstairs.. If one of us took a shower in the morning, youre for sure waking up your S.O. with the noise.COCKROACHES AND BLACK WIDOWS EVERYWHERE! Be careful with your pets and kids. They say they spray the property well, but they just pay their own people to spray some low end chemical around the place. Its really awful.Want to decorate for the holidays? Only if you do it the way they want. Or expect a notice of (fix it in 3 days or be evicted) or it will just get stolen anyways.I HATE THIS PLACE! I cant possibly explain HOW MISERABLE these land lords are.AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!! The cheap rent is to swindle you into signing a lease from hell and to deal with the anti-christ land lord lady.Seriously, if youre reading this, you need to be fired. You have MISERABLE customer service skills and youre such an arrogant person. Everyone dislikes you, ALOT.

This place is a joke, sure it looks nice and all but dont be fooled. The town homes are built so crappy, you can hear your neighbors if theyre just having a normal tone conversation in the next room, the floors are uneven, and the countertops stain just from bananas sitting on the counter. Theres cockroaches all over, every single morning we would find one somewhere in the house and on more than one occasion did one try to make a break for it and come in through the front door, despite having pest control come on multiple occasions, so disgusting. We paid $700 pet deposit (for two cats) and a $500 security deposit, when we moved out we literally got $15 back. Fifteen. Dollars. Parking is nonexistent for your guests. Management is ridiculous, we got notes from them trying to get us to wash sidewalk chalk off the sidewalk every night (which was against Fresno city water restriction) or pay them $25 every time maintenance had to wash it off. We will not miss living there at all.
