I went to get a very simple haircut from this place, it’s the second or third time I’ve been there, and I’ve been very pleased with my cuts. This time I was helped by an older gentleman, who after giving him the instruction of “as short as you can go with the scissors to put the hair up messy look,” he proceeded to leave the majority of the hair in the middle top of my head completely untouched. He trimmed the very front quite short, but the hair immediately behind it to about 2/3 the way back was the same length as when I walked in. I have fine hair and couldn’t tell until I got in my car. I went back in to get it trimmed correctly, and then had to listen to him describing how “he can only follow what directions were given, so if the directions aren’t good… we’ll…”I won’t be returning specifically to avoid getting that gentleman again. Really disappointing because it’s a higher cost than most barbershops and they have some really great employees there.

If you want to feel more like a real person instead of a number, I highly recommend ye old barbershop. They asked what kind of haircut would I like ( like most places do) but also asked what kind of haircut would my wife like to see me in ( she was not with me). Asked if I wore a hat and how often, asked what kind of job I had (even though I was in very identifying uniform), there are people who will say, I work for such and such company, but fail to mention what they do. It makes a difference in what type of haircut you want or need. I will definitely return here. Very satisfied.

This haircuts at this barber shop are always very well done. Both of the barbers pay attention to detail, and the haircuts are always consistent. The atmosphere is great, prices are reasonable, and everytime you walk in you are greeted, and you feel like you have coming there for years. I highly recommend this barber shop. I wait to visit family in town to get my haircuts, and I have yet to ever be disappointed coming here.

I have been getting my haircut at Ye old Barber shop since Ken first opened years ago. He employs two amazing barbers, each oneBeing very professional and very talented at what they do. Ken is one of the nicest business owners I know, he would literally give you the shirt off his back. A few years ago I came into the shop just after closing, Ken had already turned off his computer and could not take card payment, I had no cash. Ken said no worries, sit down in the chair and let’s cut your hair.

Great haircut but you have to wait! Walk-ins only. I put my sons name on the list (with 5 names ahead of his) and we ran a few errands.

FYI, no one cares how much you paid for your train! $6000 you could have saved... you decided to spend it on the train, so be prepared that lots of kids will get on it... yes I did tell my kids to get off of it after you said, not climb on it. The second time you came out, he was not pressing the button with his feet!!! He was just relaxing his leg... we were waiting for almost two hours for you to come out and be rude to a 7 year old boy...

*UPDATED 4/11/21*Cool little barbershop in Ferndale. Really unprofessional. No client list or whos next, no sign in. Seems like owner just randomly asks whos next and leaves it up to the lobby to decide. When chair opened up and owner picked someone guy stood up and said HEY! Ive been waiting 45min this is F up! Guy lets owner have it with all kinds of colors and Fs, then storms out. Owner follows the guy out, poking and smiling at the guy while telling him hes not welcome back. Really unprofessional, wont be back, dont recommend.OH I AM DEFINITELY NOT THE GUY WHO WENT OFF ON YOU LETS MAKE THAT VERY CLEAR. Thats not how I was raised. Im sorry you think I am. I was the other customer who left your business due to the way this was handled Sir.

I got the best hair cut Ive ever had from here! I waited less than 15 minutes and he took extra care take sure I looked like a whole new man when I left. Plus it was only $23 which I thought wasnt enough so I gladly tipped the man. I will return when I start to look shaggy again!!!!Jesse

Ken Craver welcomed me into his barbershop. With Coronavirus concerns he had me check my temperature and sanitize my hands at the door. His haircut was more than just a haircut, it was an experience. I will gladly return for top notch service. Expert in his craft and care specific to my needs made for an excellent experience.

Had a short wait for my grandsons haircut. And he has a slight fear of the buzzers. They did a very good job of distraction and so forth and were able to use them on him with no problems.

Stopped by last Saturday for a much needed haircut on the recommendation from a coworker.I was completely satisfied with the atmosphere of the business, the care they took in sanitization procedures and the attitude of the owner and staffI will be back.

Let me start off by saying this guy was very nice and polite... but that doesnt change the fact that he messed up my haircut. Let me explain I have 3 lines cut into my head the last time I got a haircut and its been 4 days or so. so I wanted them touched up because I had a business trip to make and all he had to do was take the stubble down but instead he cut one line way way to big made one crooked and all of them too big pics for proof

The owner, Ken, was SO fantastic about fitting my 11 year old son in, and not only that, he knew exactly how to open him up and get him talking. His sense of humor was hilarious, and I was so grateful we had gone there. I think the whole family will be getting our hair cut here from now on! These are the type of people we need to support!!

I dont even know the name of the guy who cut my hair but I wish I never went into this shop!! I asked for a two block haircut, I even showed him a detailed picture of what I wanted and he ensured me he could do it. He didnt talk at all, he never once checked in to see how I was liking the length. I wanted my hair to be 6 inches on the top and the sides to be a 2 on the clippers. I have about 2 1/2 inches up top but the sides are fine. This has been by far the worst experience Ive had getting my hair cut. I wish i just went to a great clips at this point, at least they only go an inch to short when they mess up...

I take both of my boys to this barber shop every few months and they receive a great hair cut every time. I like that the barbers ask questions to make sure the hair cut is just right. I highly recommend this place!

I am so grateful I found this place. Amazing care and kindness. After a few rocky experiences at other barbers my toddler was incredibly fearful about having his hair touched. This was miles above my expectations. The barber was amazingly skillful and patient. I literally teared up leaving because it was such a great experience. Most of all times we went, it was great service. But the last time we went it says they closed at 6PM, we showed up at 5:15PM and they said they werent accepting anybody else. ... so other than this. They give a damn good hair cut. But be sure to get there before 5.

Best barber shop in town. I’m particular on my fade haircut and they get the right cut. It’s also a place where they know your name. I enjoy the conversation and laughs while I get my haircut.

Courtney did an outstanding job. I was a walk in, got lucky there was no wait and she had me in and out with the cut I wanted.

Ken is an amazing barber. Hes consistent, knows what hes doing, never rushes you through and makes sure you are 100% satisfied with your cut before you leave his shop. Hot lather neck shave is included free of charge, and his prices are probably the best in the county. Sometimes theres a bit of a wait because hes a one-man shop (for now), but its absolutely worth the wait because of the way he treats his customers. Good atmosphere, too.

We love Ken for all or haircuts! He does a wonderful job of making my toddler comfortable by letting him touch the tools. As well he asks frequently throughout the cut about how we style his hair to make sure it looks perfect. We feel lucky to have found such a great barber, who really cares about his customers.

Ken has really bad customer service skills and he gets snappy. Ken has police reports a mile long. If you ask the records department at Ferndale Police they can pull them for you. He’s been fired from almost ever barbershop he’s worked at and threatens people all the time. (I.E the police reports).

The previous day my wife attempted to cut my hair... The next day we went here for a fix up on my hair. The results and experience were amazing! In the past, we would go to high end salons for haircuts that cost up to $100. But, Ye Old Barber actually did a better haircut! For only $8 !! In fact right afted the haircut we went suit shopping, I just looked that good! Plus the service was very friendly. The barber will keep you entertained. The wait was fun too, there was a chess set on a table that kept us even more entertained.

It’s nice to find a consistent barber. Every barber is great here!I will continue going here for a long time because the barber knows hair. He treats it like a science. He asks questions about your hair that others have never asked. He wants you to have a great haircut.The only downfall is that word is getting out about how good the haircuts are and next time I go in there may be a line out the door!Thanks for the awesome haircuts!

I wanted to like this place. It was my toddlers first haircut. The lady literally ripped out a big wad of her hair and then the head barber took over. He was inconsiderate and was rushing to cut her hair. I felt very uncomfortable. We should have walked out after the lady pulled her hair out. Will never recommend this to anyone. They say it’s kid friendly. Most certainly is not!!

Ken is an absolute craftsman - great attention to detail. I think he asked me more than any other barber ive ever had about what I preferred for the length, part, shave, styling. Very attentive, great setup.

Rudy does a great job on my boys hair. He gets down to business. New shop looks great, especially with the mirrors you can actually see yourself in. It is painful to sit and listen to the owner who talks non-stop. He cut my hair one time, talked too much (which distracted me) and messed up my hair (went way too short). He always says he is sorry that he missed the mark but by then it was too little too late. (Note: He offered to make it right and give him another chance. Thanks but Ill stick with another guy in town.)

While out of town my boyfriend needed a hair cut, looked on google and found this place. They have online reservations and the guy is timely with reservations. He did a great cut for $12.

I have gone here twice. The first time I was in between styles and it was hard to cut my hair because I was going from shorter to longer hair. Basically​ from a Caeser to a side swept under cut. The second time I went back, I showed him the area where it hadnt been cut as well. He said he would give me a discount. Then after it was done he said the haircut was on him and that it basically was a touch up. He cut it well. I have got a lot of compliments on it. I have never heard him say anything untoward about his customers or about people in general. I dont go to barbershops to have meaning of life conversations. Im just there for a good cut. He delivered on that. I had minimal hair on me as he vacuumed it up. He had a hot towel waiting at the end. I walked out happy as can be because he treated me above and beyond what I expected. I hadnt asked for a discount and he offered of his own accord. I really think you get what you give. People shouldnt mention other places in reviews for different places. I definitely will go back.

When you RV as I do you never know what you are going to get when youre looking for a local barber. Well, I was blessed to have chosen Ye Old Barber. Delina has cut my hair twice in the last month and did an excellent job each time. She asked me what I wanted and then cut it to perfection. Even if there is one person ahead of you, it wIll be a forever wait. Stylists are pokey and unmotivated. Around the cornER is a better bet.

Did a great job with my very active kids ages 2 and 4. Super easy online scheduling which is good because this place gets busy. Well be back for sure.

As always this is the best place to get a haircut for both my son and I. There is ample waiting space and seating. All of which is peppered with diversions such as board games, magazines, and toys.

Lately getting a haircut here is kinda way too frustrating. It is such a hit or miss experience to actually get a haircut. Despite being the best barber in town there is just simply too much customer churn to service everyone.

I went in to get a simple haircut and the barber started off doing well, however he totally ruined my haircut. I asked him if he has experience working at any other shops, he told me this story about his finger and then he flipped me off. He also mentioned something about being part crazy. He is also really touchy in an awkward way when he cut my hair he kept putting his pinky finger in my ear. This guy is a creep and I really dont think he should be cutting childrens or anyones hair. After questioning him on my haircut he started to get really hot and bothered and even yelled at me. I have read other reviews on this place and most of them are good but I just dont see how. Be aware of this guy.

Kens a great barber and person, not only does he give you an amazing haircut, he will always makes you laugh and enjoy the experience!

The shop is real nice and it is clean, however the barber is a jerk. I have heard things about him from people and around town, he has been fired from multiple shops and he can be very aggressive with customers. He even snapped at me a few times, literally yelling at me for not scheduling online or after scheduling online he constantly complains about people and customers. He also likes to make fun of people regarding some touchy subjects. He constantly is bad mouthing Yodersea down the road from him, I will be going to Yondersea moving forward. I have also heard him say he is crazy and that he doesnt sleep at night, so I am not sure why or how he is even certified to cut peoples hair.

Great customer service friendly I highly recommend them. I’ll be coming back for my next cut for sure.

I really wish zero stars was an option, this guy the owner is a complete jerk. I have watched him while waiting to get my haircut he is picky and choosey with who he treats nice. His customer service skills are awful and he will ruin haircuts of kinds of people he doesnt want at his shop. He always is saying he is crazy and that he has ptsd, this guy is using sharp tools to cut peoples hair and he says his crazy very shocking. He also mentioned in the past that he would prefer not having any purple people or blue people at his shop meaning people of color. This guy was fired from numerous jobs and shops for his attitude toward people. He was most recently fired from yondersea which is the one of the better places to get your haircut. He had the audacity to treat me like an outsider when I am a local of Ferndale and I have been living in Ferndale for over 23 years. I see in other reviews that he is taking photos with kids and being all nice its all a ruse to fool the public and for him to line his pockets. In short this guy is a jerk and a phony.
