For me, its been a real switch how I think about getting a haircut. I went to the same barber on River Road for maybe forty years, following him from where hed worked in someone elses shop to his own. Id have an appointment, a half hour cut, some engaging conversation, and done. He retired, and not knowing what else to do, I dropped in at Ambers when she was renting a chair there, before she bought the business.Amber is also good for some engaging conversation and she is a lot faster than my former barber. When I came home after that first cut, my wife liked it better than what Id been getting! The shop is small, the barbers are all women, and its a really easy place to be -- the atmosphere is pleasant. Décor is pretty basic.

My son got his hair cut by Amber and it looks amazing! He hadnt had a haircut for months due to Covid-19. Amber was professional and talented. He has really thick hair and she thinned it and did a fade, exactly what he wanted. I definitely recommend Ambers Barbershop!!

I’ve started going to Kristies because Alicia who has been cutting my hair started working there. Very friendly barbershop and nice people. They are fair priced and quick as well. I wish they took credit card but only cash at this time.

The most important person someone can have is there barber. Whenever I go into Kristies I am sat down in a clean chair with nothing but nice company. If you are able to muster up any words besides for “Just a trim.” And If you are willing to go into a little detail (I.e. top length, side length, and back length) then not only will you receive a truly phenomenal haircut at a ridiculously great rate. But you’ll leave with a good conversation fresh on your mind a a smile fresh on your face.

I like my cutting experience to be simple and without a lot of the bright lights and glam commonly seen within some of the popular chains. Kristies fit my personal requirements perfectly.This place is cozy, quick and affordable. I was treated kindly and given an accurate cut without a single issue or distraction. It seemed like some of the other patrons had been regular customers for a long period of time, which is comforting.I will be back.

I love the ladies a Kristies, they are all great Barbers. I am a woman with layered hairstyle wishes and they never let me down. Nice to get my hair cut by professionals, and be on my way. I am a busy lady and do not have the need to be pampered for an hour for a haircut. I can call and see how busy they are and go right in. Have never had to wait long. I have spent considerably more for poor haircuts at Salons. All I can say is You Rock !!

Just went for the first time today and will be going back (I also like Les Barber Shop, but this one is closer for me). Its modern, comfortable, the lighting was relaxing and they both clearly are highly skilled. Didnt have to worry about hair being all over my neck, either! Now I no longer look like a bedraggled homeless guy. Recommended.

Best place in town for the price range. You could find a better cut for more $. You could also end up with a worse cut for more $. Im a once every 4-6 months hair cut type of guy, and they started recognizing me and knowing what I wanted on the 3rd trip.

Usually the ladies there do a pretty nice job..this time i had a bad experience. I asked for a fade and to have bangs and some length in the front so I can style. The lady did a nice fade but also cut off pretty much most of the front hair on the top that left me with no bangs and with 3/4 of an inch of length..Thats too little to style or do anything..it is very close to a buzzcut..disappointing :/ the bright side of it is that I don’t have to worry about styling or brushing my hair now..just wash and go :)

After trying lots of other places, Ive settled on Kristies for my haircuts and my sons. They are friendly and quick and know what they are doing, and located next to a chocolate shop. What more could you want?

I wound up at this barbershop because other places kept cutting my hair on top and in front despite my explicit prohibition against doing this. All I want to do is keep the sides short and fade it into the top, but not to cut the top or the front. Pretty simple. When done correctly, it takes about 5 minutes, 7 at the most. Scissors arent even needed. But hair stylists elsewhere kept cutting the bangs or the top to even it out or some other reason that amounts to a euphemism for CUTTING IT. I explained the whole history of this problem when I went to Kristies barbershop; as I have had good experiences there in the past, I figured my request would be respected. And it was, the first time. Then I went back about a month later. I made sure the original pact was still understood and agreed to, but alas, for some reason, she took about 4/5 of an inch off my bangs and totally trimmed the sides too. I was too enraged at the time to demand an explanation. The point of this review is to offer any professional hair stylist or barber in the Eugene area $50 to do what Im asking: shave the sides with a 1.5 blade, fade it in with a 2, and LEAVE THE TOP AND FRONT ALONE. Thats it. To be fair, I repeat that the technical quality of this and all other haircuts I have received at Kristies barbershop have been high. I do not question the skill of their barbers. I guess its a communication problem? I really cant imagine how my expressed wishes could have possibly been misunderstood, especially since I began by telling a story about how other salons and barbershops have done this and how angry it makes me. I understand that fading is kind of a tricky technique; some stylists do it well, others dont. Once more: The execution of the haircut was totally acceptable. What escapes me, however, is how an absolute prohibition against cutting the bangs or the top produces the opposite result.
