I am so grateful to have found this community. This has been the best thing I have done for my mind, body and soul in a very long time. I have seen the physical results but better yet feel like myself again.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, super clean and inclusive environment, great, clean and well maintained equipment! Oh and their hydro-massage beds are excellent!
The worst gym I have ever been to. After paying $300 to become a member I cancelled it in a month. The bathrooms are disgusting and the layout is terrible. Also my entire wallet was stolen by another member who didn’t check in that day so front desk doesn’t even do their job. Biggest regret ever.
Good, friendly staff. Keeping it clean and safe fire everyone.
Everything you need, all updated, not crowded.
While I had some interest in visiting this location, when I called to ask about their location, Jordan immediately hung up on me without another word. Id have appreciated an Im busy or I cant help you with that instead of immediately cutting me off. My family and I will be taking our business elsewhere and advise our friends to do the same.
The zumba class was great. The overall gym was okay. Friendly staff and people.
Hours on Friday to Sunday are too short. Keep it open til 9 or 10 at least.Pot holes in the parking lot near the front and back never get pavedOnly one way in and out
Horrible workers out of all the La fitness’s this is the worst one I honestly recommend you go to any other besides this one I’m disgusted with the workers they don’t help out when ur in danger it’s unbelievable.!
Have to facility is always clean, staff is nice, clientele always cheerful respectful, seem that most folks practice good gym etiquette especially with Covid-19 social distancing and wear masks. Machines are generally in working condition, overall great experience.
Huge resource of machines and programs. Extensive facilities and friendly competent instructors. Great place!
The place looks good from my first couple of visits as far as gym utilities.. not sure yet about the level of sanitizationWould have given 5 stars if the staff werent so eager to take from me any money they can get... I wonder what would happen if I ever thought of canceling my membership, I can imagine it would be miserable
Boston is the main guy to talk to about signing up! Super informative, great quality service, you vibe with him he vibes with you. Had a bad experience two years ago with another location but Boston made me rethink about LA, to that Im really satisfied with my experience so far!
Facilities are always clean and machines are always well maintained, some still in new condition. I decided to go with a personal trainer the past year and while the rates are high I found it to be well worth it. My Master Trainer Nelson helped me achieve all the fitness goals I had and has helped me look better than ever.
Very clean well maintained facility. The womens locker room attendant does an awesome job cleaning and sanitizing. Distancing enforced and adhered to.
Decent gym word of advice catch the promotion that works best for you
Griffin and the manager on duty were super friendly and nice. They got me to sign up for a membership and helped me out a ton with any questions I had. They made me feel extremely comfortable and I am excited to start working out at such a nice gym.
Great A+++ no sauna right now but everything else is great
Thank you to Jake and Jason for signing me up today! They were encouraging and helpful, and made switching over to LA fitness easy and affordable. Clean and spacious facility. I’m excited to continue my fitness journey here!
Love the place but l miss the sauna and jacuzzi due to covid 19. Its not fun anymore
I just signed up with Jake and Jason this morning, and I can’t wait to get started on this fitness journey! They were so helpful, and the facility is gorgeous as well. State of the art machines, a full length pool, sauna, and racquetball courts - all for an affordable price and with great staff. Thanks, LA fitness!
If you are thinking about joining LA Fitness in Edina, make sure you meet up with Boston Ron! He’s a great guy to help you get set up!
This gym is hands down the best I’ve ever been to! The equipment is nice and even during peak times it’s manageable. Biggest perk is the staff! Rico and Antonio are both extremely motivating and willing to work with everyone who comes into the gym to achieve their goals. If you’re thinking about training ask for David! He’s invested in my success and I’ve only been training with him for a couple months and have already seen a lot of progress! Everyone here makes it fun to come work out, I highly recommend this place to anyone interested in a solid gym!
Better than Hopkins. Great equipment, good spacing
Best gym I’ve ever visited. Expansive choice of equipment. You’ll never have to wait for rack, bench, or set of weights
Great place to workout
Boston Ron he was great man with very understandable Nd very helpful man.
I love this location over other LA Fitness locations in the twin cities. The front desk staff is always nice and the machines are available during late mornings, early afternoons, and late evenings. I always come when its slow so I can get my work out on.
Took me a hot minute to change gyms. But I’m glad I did. The training director, Rico, and his staff of trainers and the LA Fitness staff are kind, knowledgeable, and just as serious as I am to take me on my fitness goal journey. Child care is great and I’m excited about the lap pool as well. The gym and locker rooms are clean, spacious, and inviting. Highly recommend it.
The gym itself is nice but the the front desk service is lacking. Rarely anyone greets me. I can just walk past them without scanning my ID and they dont notice because they are all talking. I think as someone who pays for a membership it would be nice to know that people cant just walk right in.
I sent cancellation notices for both my gym and training memberships in the same envelope. They only cancelled my gym membership and continued charging me for training sessions to the gym I no longer had a membership for. The training manager at Edina did nothing but confirm the training account was now cancelled. No apologies, no offer for remedy. I will never rejoin this gym.
It would be 5/5 for me if it was open earlier and closed every night at twelve and pool could use a good scrubbing . Otherwise I like everything about the gym so far being a new member!
Getting myself back!! Its been a couple of years...too bad the Hottubs are not in use!!
Quick service, friendly staff! Boston Ron took care of me like I’ve been a member for years.
The best thing about this gym is the trainer David E. Ive lost a lot of weight but gained so much knowledge working with him over the past year. He is so engaged with all his clients and truly cares about your health goals. He doesnt make you feel bad when you have a bad week, but encourages you to keep trying and to do better the next week. I honestly wouldnt have made it this far without him in my corner. I wish there was a way I could repay him!!
GREAT
The gym has a good variety of equipment as that is all I use which does get crowded at times. The gym was updated last year with fresh paint and such but disappointed in a couple things when they closed to update...they need another entrance and new equipment to get current people excited about the updates. The juice bar people are no longer there so they need to update what is advertised. If you need paid guests passes for visitors like family or friends from out of town that they suggest you see them in person as you are better taken care of (I paid $20 for 2 days versus the$15 for 1 day).My other concerns are the amount of trash I see in the parking lot which they should get recycling bins for all the plastic bottles and cans. Most of the PT staff needs to learn how to train clients that is not a machine workout as the general public sits too much!
Ive been working out here for a little over 6 months now and love it. Rico & Antonio are hands down the best trainers Ive worked with! Ask for them if you need any help acquiring a healthier lifestyle and/or achieving your fitness goals - they are experts! Even though I consider myself physicially fit, they introduced me to things Ive never done and its changed the way I work out! I have a 5 year old that loves coming here as well - their kids club is always fun for him.Highly recommend for all fitness levels!
Great place with nice equipment and amenities signed up with help from Griffin amazing staff there too
Great facility with perks! I like convenient location and membership is affordable. Spacious n my fav is the sauna🧖♀️
Unprofessional. Front desk workers sit slouched under their desk with headphones on. Management walks around with their nose up in the air. Management approached me today telling me I had to wear my mask at all times, meanwhile a dozen other members walk around with no mask on or in hand at all.
I have trained with Rico, Spencer and Antonio at the Edina location. All 3 of them have shared their knowledge with me that is specific to my body. I have hip issues and I was shown exercises that would help gain strength, without causing more problems. The modified routines are very feasible and fun at the same time. I am very excited to continue my workout journey with them!
This was my first time checking out LA Fitness. Ive been a member with LIFETIME Fitness for years but needed a change. LA Fitness is not only affordable, the staff is attentive and accommodating to your needs. I had the pleasure of working with Antonio recently, he was AMAZING! Hes one of their top personal trainers, and hes very professional and knows his stuff!! Also, shout out to Clint as well, he works with member services. Clint was very informative and helped me set up my health club reimbursement with my health insurance provider. I had a wonderful experience, and recommend them to anyone that wants to look good and feel great!!!
My boyfriend and I worked with Spencer, a personal trainer. Had a really great experience. He went above and beyond in helping us map out a fitness plan and starting us off on the right foot. Really nice facility and very helpful faculty.
Edina LA Fitness is one of the better locations. Large parking lot not far from the highway. Newer equipment with a good layout, open one level concept. For 30ish dollars a month, to me its worth every penny. Hours are like 5- 12am which I think is perfect unless you live in the darkness. Only down falls would be lockers have been broken into and should be designed differently.
A little pricier than other gyms, but the people and trainers are the friendliest Ive ever seen at a gym. The trainer I did my free intro session with, Antonio, was awesome! He was super friendly, had good input on my goals, and was not pushy at all on selling the plan, needless to say, if I had the money to do the training plan, Id do it!
Gym is spacious and staff are helpful. Personal training with Matt Prokop is great. He works well with what my husband & I need to bring new ideas to our workouts. He is knowledgeable and encouraging and has helped mix up our routines. I highly recommend Matt
Great value here. Nice equipment and decent clientele. Best to avoid between 5 and 7 PM if you can. It gets crowded.
Love this gym. 10x better than any other LA in the area. Make the trip, its worth it.
I love the Edina LA! I have made a ton of progress with my personal trainer, Nelson. I look forward to my sessions every week! Ive built a lot of muscle and feel so much stronger. The entire staff is helpful and friendly. Gym and locker rooms are always clean. Only thing that I dislike is the parking lot, but that doesnt stop me from going!
Staff is nice. New free weights. New cardio machines. And new weight machines. Nice sauna. I havent been into the pool or spa yet but this is a VERY CLEAN gym. Having a clean gym is very important to me, especially due to all the sicknesses that go around and all the free radicals floating around. I love doing leg day at this gym, there is a lot of variety and usually i don’t have to wait if i want to get on a leg press machine or squat rack. Back/bicep day is also another one of my favorite days to visit this LA. The personal training area is well-maintained and things are usually in place. Only downside being that the battle ropes are torn up and need to be replaced. Otherwise i love it here!
There are 15 sinks in the ladys locker room4 squat racks, wow!Very clean and good equipmentNo track. Bathroom is humid from showers.Parking lot is really ridiculous to get in s or off and the door is about as far away as it can be
Standard equipment and classes, but the club is extremely dirty, especially in winter. The floors are covered in dirt and dust, and mats are not cleaned regularly. There are ants and dust balls around stretching areas. Other gyms encourage clients to wipe down equipment by providing spray bottles and paper towels, but here, machines are left sweaty.
This is a pretty top tear LA fitness in my opinion. They have a pool, great racket ball cours, and a friendly and helpful staff. I’ve been to others and they usually aren’t of the same quality as this location. If you aren’t already a member it’s worth checking out.
Great variety of equipment and options for group classes. They also have a swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna included in your membership fee. Fair warning, parking at the Edina location is limited so its best to avoid peak hours.
A clean ample facility. Easy parking. Good tenants. Equipment has a just enough space in between.Went late evening and place was great almost for myself. Some cardio new er than others and some just need to be removed asap.Machines ok condition. Now with lifetime next door they will have to do something.Locker room doesnt look that new or updated. Sauna was in working condition, no steam room and clean showers.Staff is friendly and professional without being pushy.Parking is ample easy off street, make sure to not leave valuables as with any parking lot.
I go between four gyms. Drove o the Edina location this morning for a specific class and it wasnt offered, it had been replaced with another class, however the one I wanted is still listed on the window at the gym, the paper handout and on the website. I dont have the app because I have a family membership and dont want to ask my family member for his CC number to register it. The front desk gal was trying to be helpful and recommended calling ahead, but thats a nuisance. Dont appreciate driving and missing another class I could have taken at another gym.
Dirty machines. Rude customer service. Men in women’s locker room!!!??? How is this happening consistently here??!
Me and my wife were so happy before attending LA fitness and make membership with you all, but unfortunately, we got treated badly, Rico and Antonia were quite unprofessional and rude. They never mentioned that the personal trainers has to be different enrollment fees, they should mention that so we changed our mind after 5 days but we been told that it’s only 24 hrs even though they told us one-week trial from the enrollment day to get our money back and now we cannot, so I think it’s rip-off business when they lie to customers. Please think twice or do some research before you enroll personal trainer in this gym.
Today was my first day at LA Fitness. Rico took the time to explain the Personal Training programs and he even gave me a sample exercise session. He was patient with me and listened to my feedback. Being inexperienced in the gym environment, I was nervous and intimidated when I showed up. After a fun introduction with Rico, I left feeling more confident and look forward to going back.
The lack of gym etiquette here is baffling at times, over crowed and the weekend hours need work. The remodel didn’t do much equipment-wise, definitely overlooked. For the price point definitely consider the other options.
For the price you cant go wrong. Got a lot of different equipment..
Go here all the time. They just got remodeled so it’s nice, overcrowded at times but other than that it’s a nice gym. Staff are friendly and so are the personal trainers. I’ve only went to one of the classes but didn’t like it. Can’t speak on the others. From cardio to weightlifting they have it.
Update: I have been a member here for about seven or eight years now. In the past I always gave this gym a five star rating. They recently went through a remodeling which included a changeup of the equipment. Most all of the quality cable style of equipment has been taken away.Consequently, I do not believe it is in the same class of gym as it used to be. To me it seems more like a 24 hour or snap Fitness instead of competing with Lifetime Fitness.I have heard the same complaint from other long-term members. As I wrote, I used to rank this as a 5-star gym but it is now only a 3 star since it is very average in equipment variety. The other LA Fitness Gyms that I go to still have the cable equipment and are better.
The trainers Spencer and Nico were awseome! They were fun to train with and super easy going! And they know what they are talking about, unlike a lot of trainers. I would definitely recommend either of them!
Glad the branch staff are constantly wiping all the equipments with CDC approves disinfectant due to the present COVID-19 situation.
It has all the equipment I would ever want at a gym. Showers could be cleaned more frequently. Otherwise, their rates are incredibly reasonable.
Staff is not as attentive as they should be. Water is also not good. Id recommend for any new person to bring their own water.
I like this gym. Its spacious and clean and never very crowded. Ive been a member for a couple of months: I just walk in, work out, and walk out - simple. Theres always a knowledgeable staff member, too, if I have questions.
Your typical LA fitness. Not a lot of specialty equipment. Busy place. Great location though. Terrible parking at the busy times. They have been known to have water heater issues.
Nice clean and decent facility. Has a lot of good equipments in good condition. Staff gets rude at times not a good staff they have here. Its not so crowded mostly.
NiceThe staff is now saying hello when I check in
I avoid going to this location - it was always difficult to get in & out of the parking lot but then they remodeled & took away many weight lifting machines. Additionally, the new ellipticals are awkward to use. There are many different gym options in the area so I recommend choosing another gym.
Love the renovation. They got more stair machines and the new layout makes more sense to me at least. :)Plus, the WiFi is nice.I just wish theyd stop playing news on the tv like Lifetime does. It kind of ruins my workout when I get sucked in to the Fox and CNN stations playing side by side. Though it is a fascinating way to study how coverage of an event can vary so widely based on your political lean, it would be nice to get away from that for a while.
They seems pour a lot of chlorine into the swimming pool, the water quality feels bad. I went other LA, never feel the water such salty, and it make my throat not comfortable every time I went for swimming. I would not recommend the pool there
This location in the heart of a neighborhood that prides itself on quality and the finer things of life, is the pits. Its dirty, things dont work, the showers are particularly nasty and moldy and the shower curtains are in disrepair with soap scum and are ripped. The pool and hot tub and sauna were nice though. This is the only location that has a protein snack bar, but it was closed for the evening so I didnt get to see how it operates..
We added a person to our account they did not tell us that they will charge membership fee. When I got my bank statements I notice the charges. When I called them they start denying that they ever told me no charge so I did cancel the membership
Gym was clean. Do not fall for the Free fitness Consultation. Its their way of getting you to sign up for personal training. They charge $50+ per training session and the trainers only make $6 per 30 minute session. Bad customer service when it came to the gym memberships. Also - dont fall for the Free Pass to try it out. The sales people wont let you try it out until you sign up for a membership.
Massive brand new gym, tons of free weights, never feels crowded which is great during peak hours.
The bathrooms are outdated and disgusting. Beach bathrooms on a hot summer day would be better. Some of their equipments are locked up because its only designated for people who are signed up with their over priced and non beneficial personal training sessions. I borrowed the kettle bell from the personal training area and when I returned it, one of their personal trainers quickly locked it up. He was acting as if I was trying to steal it. I paid for the hefty initiation fee and $26-27 monthly I should be able to use all the equipment thats available. Thumbs down you lost a customer and I will definitely take my business elsewhere.
Real gym for same price as 24 hour places. Has 4 squat racks and plenty of other equipment. Gets a bit crazy after work hours, I would avoid coming then.
While the gym is okay, I have an issue with some of the charges they put on our accounts. I was added to my husbands account over the phone, seemed like an easy process. They promised to match the no initiation fee that we received through my company promotion. 2 months after we had signed up, I glanced at my bank statement and they decided to charge the initiation fee. The manager at the Edina branch was helpful at working to get it refunded but it was an additional 2 months before we finally got our refund - after they tried to credit it to a bank account that isnt even linked to our account. Then, we just got charged an annual fee, which was never detailed to us on the phone when I got added to the account. Very frustrating to deal with.....
Disappointed. I went to work out this morning and found the Womans locker room and bathrooms without paper towels and garbage filled to brim, toilets, vanities, showers etc...very dirty and disgusting. I went to front desk and they responded but said they had no female janitors coming in until 3 pm. but would get towels installed if they can get room cleared out if I could assist. I let them know that if they gave the towels and key to open the towel holders I would gladly help by doing it for them. They showed me and I got it done. I think that the all male team who opened today could’ve taken care of this and other areas prior to opening and think someone dropped the ball. Also, while I’m writing this I want to let you know that I think the ‘trainers’ area is a put off to members and trainer Jim being Mr. Eagle Eye on anyone who crosses the line. I get that the trainers need some space with clients but when trainers take weights and equipment from regular member area and do not return is disrespectful. Also, I want to use functional equipment but don’t need a trainer, why can’t we get this same equipment? Not fair. So after you train paying personal trainer clients you then exclude them from this area?Managment if you are reading I hope you use this as an opportunity to change how you manage your team and how you treat ALL members. If you should want to talk further about how to enhance member experience please feel free to reach out to me, you have my information! Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing from you.Your loyal member,Jewel
Poor customer service, not so clean environment. Personal trainers are good, but other staffs are not polite, some are rude. Feels very crowded in the locker room. I feel like they have way too many members than the space can comfortably accommodate.
Watch out for the personal training scam. Limited trainers, limited hours, difficult to set up a consistent long term schedule. Unwilling to make things work.
Overall a pretty nice gym but like most gyms, it gets busy during peak times. People mostly clean up after themselves which is nice.
I really had very bad experience with staff of this center.1.During enrollment they enrolled me for 6 month agreement with no benefit saying its formality and I can exit at anytime. however later after few months when I asked to end my service, they said I will have to pay panelty.2. I found extra charges on my credit card besides normal monthly fee, on asking for reasons they dont have any answers. So have precaution, keep monitoring your bills3. You wont even be getting monthly bills4. They wont tell you about yearly charges upfront. So be ready for surprise debit
Excellent fitness classes.. friendly staff.. decent amenities depending on what you want to do. The basketball court is typically dominated by a group of disrespectful troublemakers. These troublemakers are allowed free reign to harass others, vandalize property, steal from lockers, and break open locks to steal from others. These behaviors are not encouraged, but also nothing is done to decrease occurrences. The lockers are made of cheap particle board so if a thief cant smash your lock, they can apply some force and rip out what the lock attaches to. Staff says they apologize if something happens, but refuses to do anything about the group behind most of the locker room losses. Not the most horrible place, but keep valuables on you or at home if you dont want to lose them.
Please find another gym. Stop supporting dishonesty and disrespect.Updated (9/7/18): Came back with a friend who has tried to get a trainer but instead of getting trained he got 45 minutes of advertising. Ridiculous and immature. Just as terrible as it was one year ago when I first signed up.(8/6/17): Terrible gym. Overcrowded. The parking lot is a nightmare. Equipment is not cared for. Staff is rude. Find another gym. I wish Google had a zero stars option.
Joined in May 2014 after 6+ years at Lifetime Fitness Bloomington. Overall, the gym is pretty good. The staff is more respective and friendly than Lifetime. The membership rates are really decent and the equipment is varied, in good working order and 85% of the time available during peek hours. The only thing I would point out is the lockers, they could use more cleaning throughout the day and air freshener, it really stinks most of the time in the mens room, the equipment could use more sanitation as well. Also morning hours on weekend isnt great, opens at 8 am. Other than that I really enjoy the gym and have no plans on leaving.
LA fitness edina has majorly old treadmill equipment even though the job is done but still while running you can feel that the equipment is old with its laggy behavior. They need some major remodelling of workout area and equipments. Besides that, I feel everything is great and I would visit much often if the management would go ahead and remodel this location.
Convenient location, they clean all the time yet all of the equipment is dirty.
I joined this club a little over four months ago because my friend had a free pass and after checking it out i joined right away. The gym is really nice. Good swimming pool and hot tub, clean locker rooms and great equipment. Overall my experience was positive and really great till now. Anyways the one time I had a free pass I invited my little brother to come check it out and work out with me. One of the staff was being very pushy and making my brother join even though I had a free pass and clearly told him that my brother just wants to check out the gym and work out. I waited paitently for over forty minutes of them intimidating and making him join till I had enough! Not only did they lose a potential future customer but I am also cancelling my membership! Way to go LA fitness.
The 4 stars is mostly because of value. From a cost standpoint, you cant go wrong joining LA. At times, its not overly clean and tidy but no gym really is. Early evening is crazy busy so try and come at another time if you dont like it packed. Edina, in my opinion, has the best layout of any of the LAs in the twin cities.
If someone were to mop the floor once a day it would reduce the amount of dead skin, hair, and dirt on the floors and workout mats. Otherwise, the equipment is new and functional. People are kind and cordial.
Ive been a member here on and off since it first opened so I feel like Ive got a good outlook on things.Pros:Inexpensive, central location, brightly lit, lots of equipment and machines, music playing if you forget headphones, changing rooms are decent.Cons:If you forget your pass the people at the front act like its a HUGE imposition to look up your account. It literally takes 10 seconds to do so, and they are being paid, so I dont understand why they are rude about it. Its literally part of their job.Things are starting to look a little worn out, they should update.Stretch pads need to be wiped down more often. The womens bathroom has gotten especially bad and need to be updated ASAP.
Decent membership prices. Go there right when they open or after 8pm and the whole gym is yours.
Im really glad I signed up at LA Fitness, its inexpensive (just ask to waive the BS initiation fee). Everything you need is there. Weights, cardio, exercise room, basketball court, pool, lockers, etc. It beats every other gym.I see a lot of bad reviews because of cleanliness. Yeah its not great on some days but if you cant stand it that theres no paper towels or trash on the floor then go pay more at another gym. Who cares? Youre there to workout where everyone else is sweating too.
Actually I would rate them zero stars, they are absolutely horrible, unprofessional, untrained, rude, Ive been a member for a while because really they are the cheapest you can find, Im here 01/01, and just got kicked out of what they call their special training are, even though there is really nobody being trained right now. This very rude person with a bad attitude said Im not allowed to be there. Way to go la fitness, good job, thats exactly what you need to do to get people to sign up for your services!!!
