Not your average customer service: My cars transmission needed work and became unsafe to drive. They calmly and confidently worked with me on getting the work done quickly, and included a tow to their shop without me having to wait with the car. After the work was done, my car drove like it did when I bought it, 175k miles ago. The bill was pretty reasonable, too.

I don’t usually write reviews but really wanted to show my appreciation for a job well done. I waited a few weeks after getting my car repaired to make sure it continued to run well before writing a review about it. I kept waiting for it to struggle up a hill as it did before, but it is running smoothly.Accurate Transmissions in Durham was a little out of my way, but they came highly recommended. I have an older model Honda and was afraid that my car had completely died and that I would have to buy another car, for which I didn’t want to have a car payment. The mechanic (and I believe the owner) offered to have me towed. He told me some other things needed repaired along with the transmission work. I knew that his assessment was authentic because he didn’t want to take a chance on making some of the other repairs himself, so I knew he wasn’t trying to sell those repairs to me.My Honda is running great! I’m so excited that I took a chance to have my car repaired and didn’t give up hope on it. It was a much better option having the transmission repairs instead of having another car payment, or forking out cash on another car. Accurate Transmissions also kept me current on the repair process.I highly recommend this shop.

We first took our 2004 Volvo XC90 to Accurate Transmission Center almost two years ago when our transmission failed. They explained the problem and gave us our options. We decided on getting our transmission rebuilt. Since that time we have always taken our vehicle to Accurate Transmission Center on the occasions when we have concerns with our transmission. Fast forward two years later, our transmission service light recently came on and we took it Accurate Transmission Center. Once again they were able to quickly find the issue and took care of it without any hesitation. I would recommend calling Accurate Transmission Center to anyone who unfortunately having transmission issue and ask to speak to William. They provide quality work, are honest, fair priced, and have excellent customer service.

These guys are very knowledagbe about transmissions. They helped me out with my 2012 Ford Escape. I highly recommend them! They also know a lot about cars in general if you have other issues.

Just left the shop and they were great! Pulled my car back incredibly fast, whereas every other shop said it would be a day just to look at it, showed me the problem so I was educated on it, and quoted me a price that was significantly less than what I had paid at another shop. He also managaed to find a problem that the other mechanics missed, which would have turned into a major issue if I had not been told about it. Definitely using this transmission shop again if needed in the future!!!

When my transmission failed on my 2007 Cadillac STS, I originally had the car towed to another transmission shop who said youll need a whole new transmission without even investigating the car. I called William at Accurate who took the time to ask intelligent questions, offer sound advise, and offer to have the car towed to his location for a second opinion. After investigating the issue, William was able to resolve my problem at a cost that was half of the other shops quote. We went on to have some mechanical problems, not transmission related, and he guided me to another repair shop who did an excellent job on fixing those problems. I appreciated his professional follow up, genuine concern and guidance. Id highly recommend him to anyone needing transmission work.

This is truly a business that believes in doing the right thing even when no one is watching. I had my Chrysler town & country towed there to see if the transmission was totally shot because it wouldnt move in any gear. I wanted an estimate so I could decide if I would fix it. Well, I got this call from William Teele saying my van was ready. What do you mean my van is ready? It was only a clip on the axle and there is no charge. Truly an honest business. If you think you are having transmission problems, this is the place to have your work done.

I highly recommend this place. Their word is gold. I purchase a 2004 silver Ford Explorer with a knowingly bad transmission and was looking for a shop that could help me determined the best route to having this problem fixed. I ran into them on a Google search and spoke with a gentleman name William. He help and educate me on the process and got me all set up. I gave him a bit of a hard time some where in the process but he handle the situation like a professional. So, I wanted to give this place a shot out and especially a THANK YOU TO WILLIAM and an apology for the misunderstanding moments on my part. If anyone in Durham or Chapel Hill NC and need Transmission work, go see these guys. Oh and ask for William, he will get you taken care of!!

STAY AWAY! Was driving my car without problems. Had battery sign light up on dashboard, then car engine turned off. Took car to Honda dealer and was told it needed new alternator replaced. They were not sure about whether the transmission is affected. Googled transmission companies and found this company listed. The person at the company told me that he would change the alternator and then check if the transmission needs work. If transmission work is needed by him, then he would charge me only material for the alternator (he said cost would be only between $150-200) and would not charge me labor for alternator. He said that if I decide not work on the transmission,then he would charge me the cost of the alternator and $80 for labor for changing it. When he got the car in his workshop, he called me and told me that the alternator cost will be $250 and wanted to charge me $100 for new battery. I asked him to change the alternator and charge the current battery rather than change it, and ten call me after he checks the transmission. He called me the next morning telling me that he needed to work on transmitter and cost will be be $600 to open it and then charge me between $1500 and $2400 to fix the alleged problem in it. I told him not to do anything with the transmission until I test drive the car. The car was driving fine without any problem on my test drive with exception of engine check light that was not there before I took car to them. I paid him for alternator and labor (he ended charging me more than what we agreed on for the alternator). I drove the car to AAMCO Durham ( 30 miles far) for another opinion on the transmission. The drive went well without problem.They tested the car and said that the transmission was working very well and needed no work. They said the engine light check was on due to electrical issue that the people who changed the alternator did not clear well. The whole process cost me only $50 with AAMCO. Accurate Transmission were going to charge me thousands of dollars for work that was not needed.
