I visited the service dept and asked the manager Justin to give me a safety assessment on the front-end of my Land Cruiser after I collided with an 8 point buck just north of Durango on the 550. He brought it into the shop right away-- and talked me through the damage (over $10k in body work) and gave me his honest assessment. Justins honesty and candor provided what i needed.
If I could do less than one star I would. Do not waste your time with Durango Toyota. I called service about my car door not opening from the inside. Because this is a safety concern, someone in service told me that if I dropped my car off in the morning they would at least look at it and have it diagnosed within three hours. I took the whole day off from work to deal with this. When I showed up at the service department i was told that I would have to leave my car there for the entire day and that it wasn’t even guaranteed that they would get to it. I understand that everyone is short staffed right now, but maybe Durango Toyota should consider paying their employees more so they can have more technicians in their half empty shop. It takes three weeks to even get an appointment with them. Not happy at all with customer service or the service repair shop. Will never consider them for a car purchase or any kind of repairs on my Toyota again.I called Durango Automotive Repair, got an appointment for a week out, with a quote on diagnostic. Very straightforward, no BS or runaround. Would highly recommend any other shop you can get into in Durango.

I have had many positive experiences at Durango Motor Company and today was no exception! I had a loose side mirror on my car and when I dropped in unannounced asking for help, Justin came right to my rescue. It required just the specific little tool that I of course didnt have in my messy garage, but he searched for the right one and was able to tighten it up in no time. He even backed me out of the bay so I didnt have to test my backing up skills! Thanks Justin! You certainly made my day a better day!

I visited Durango Toyota today, to learn more about the Highlander XLE Hybrid AWD that I bought 3 weeks ago. The employee that I was supposed to meet with was sick, and Zach Benz stepped in immediately to help. I am a bit of a technotard and Zach was incredibly helpful and patient. He went through all the complicated and varied devices and possibilities with a ‘CAN DO’ attitude that made me confident that I could operate many more systems than I was aware of, before I arrived. My 19 tacoma had a slow leak in one of the tires. Took it to get fixed and was told by the mechanic he found a small hole and patched it. BUT, he said, it might be the belts meaning new tires. I would know if it kept leaking. It kept leaking so took it to Discount Tire who found the small hole. It had been marked for repair but never patched - they finished the job and now its fine. Look Family owned Toyota, I know you cant get vehicles to sell but ripping off your customers by selling un needed tires is not the way. Service Manager Justin does not seem to be in on the scam.

Well another great experience with Durango Motors.Yesterday as I was getting ready for a long road trip and I had a moment of panic when several lights appeared on my dash. I immediately drove to the dealership and in less than a minute Justin R. - Toyota Service Manager immediately began diagnostically determining the situation -and it required additional observation. Although it was near closing time,Justin continued to evaluate the needed repair and resolved it! I could now confidently take my road trip. He calmly and efficiently took care of everything - including me. Five Star service - again. Thanks JustinMartin S. (who we have purchased vehicles from and vice-versa)has always been available to offer solid advice and get the deal done in a helpful and professional manner. Arrived 5:30 PM on A Friday in Durango in my 10 year old Prius hearing a motor hum after coming off the Red Mountain pass. We had days of driving ahead of us to get back to Texas and were in Durango only to ride the Steam train the next morning and leave again on Sunday morning. We called Durango Motors and we’re told to bring car in before 6 and they would check it out Saturday while we travelled on the train and keep us informed of findings and repair needs. The technician spent the morning with the car finding nothing wrong even after a test run up a steep road. Tested all he could and reported just before we headed into offline territory that the car would await us that evening when we returned with a report of all tests in case the problem re-occurred and wished us a safe and happy trip. That was a month and many trouble free miles ago. I have always appreciated Toyota service but Durango Motors out did all my past experiences. Thank you to the technician, the office manager and the nice employee who drove us back to our hotel and grandchild who awaited us.

On a driving trip, our car developed a Check Engine light. They checked the service light, diagnosed its likely harmless source, and sent us on our way -- all for free. As a visitor, they could have told us anything and we would have done it. Oh, its your air filter and oxygen sensor that needs replacing... But they didnt. Straight shooters! Liked that a lot.

Mark sold me a 4RUNNER about 6 months ago which has been wonderful. Called me on my birthday too! A car dealership like no other.
Brought my 2012 Tundra in for oil change service. Talked to the person who took my information and asked him specifically if all fluid levels would be checked and all grease points greased,(I am pulling a 26 ft. RV trailer on tour thru the western states so the truck is doing extra duty and I have always relied on Toyota to service my vehicles properly) he assured me they would be. Fluid level and greasing points on the inspection sheet were checked off but during the walk around after service I found the grease zerks had not been greased and the differential case oil level bolt had not been touched. I have no confidence the other cases under the truck had been checked. A body shop supervisor who was walking thru the shop saw my consternation and called the appropriate supervisor, Charley, I believe. The truck was taken to a master tech to have everything checked. Charley brought my truck back, never apologized for anything and then became surly. I was told this Dealership only gives its service employees 20 minutes do this service and that they did not normally check the fluid levels under the truck.(the inspection sheet shows all these levels to be a part of the service and guess what? They had all been checked off OK!) I have owned Toyotas for over 20 years and done business with Toyota in North Plate, NE. (Premier) and Oklahoma City, OK (Jim Norton). THEY ALWAYS CHECKED(I always check) I love my Toyota But I Would not recommend The Durango Dealership to anyone.

Dangerously Easy! Alec was great. I called ahead and drove from out of town to see a truck they had just taken in. Several recalls and maintenance still needed to be performed so was not allowed to drive it. No problem, trusting Toyota service quality I explained what I expected to be done and some accessories I wanted added. I went to lunch and Alec went to his manager. upon my return everything was agreed to, I left a deposit and returned home. After the accessories, recalls and refurbishing had been done, Alec called and set up a day to deliver it to me. I drove it, approved of it and signed papers over lunch in a restaurant. Unbelievably easy and I am still stunned that I could ever give a 5 star rating to a Car Dealer. They deserve it!I have to go back and update my review. Make sure everything is followed thru with before sighing papers. The dealership incorrectly input mileage on the truck. They corrected it with CarFax but cant seem to correct it with Toyota. I furnished Alex with a copy of what My Toyota showed as mileage, 99,999, actual was 62000. Hopefully a mileage exception wont show up in the future. Turns out Durango is just like any used car dealer, when the check clears their customer service goes out the window. I have e-mailed Alex and the general manager. It speaks volumes about a dealership that doesnt take responsibility for mistakes they make.

I purchased a used Silverado from Grant, and Im happy with this dealership and the truck. I was Grants first sale, so there were some minor learning issues with financing which were worked out by their team. I would recommend this dealer to a friend.
Mechanics were friendly but if you’re doing a brakes and rotors replacement I recommend you take it elsewhere, or at least get price estimates before you take it here. I overpaid by a lot.

Last week I financed the balance on the truck, again with Rod, and again was treated with the utmost care, fairness, and professionalism imaginable. Ive always been leery of dealerships, buying into the unfavorable stereotypes that are so common. I had no intention of driving away with a new vehicle after a scheduled oil change but after some friendly chatting I was presented with an offer I couldnt refuse on my dream vehicle. If I could rate zero stars I would. This place conducts business very poorly. They are unsure of what vehicles are actually on their own lot. Additionally they will send you a quote on a vehicle which is not even available in order to get you on the hook and sell you one which “is en route.” Highly suggest taking your business elsewhere.
My experience purchasing a pre-owned Toyota Tacoma and Durango Motor Company was exceptional. The salesman, Rod McBroom, was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful in every way. I never felt pressured in making my decision. The finance people were friendly and very competent. Brian, in the accessory department, was so competent and guided me perfectly in making my choices. When I purchased my car, everyone was great. When I took it in for the free service updates, service started going down hill as I got closer to the last one. After the last free service, I cannot get anyone to answer the phone-neither in sales nor in any other department-every number goes to the same automated system, which after one to three rings just hangs up on me. Ive tried calling for tires and for service, and have had to go elsewhere because I cannot get ahold of a person.

If you are looking to buy a car in Durango, I want to suggest that you ask for salesman, Jarrod Lancing, at Durango Motor Company. We bought a 2016 RAV4 from him recently and he had to overcome many obstacles to make that happen. One was our credit union, which I am embarrassed to say, was very unprofessional, with some untrained agents trying to complete this sale. Jarrod persevered through that mess (and several other obstacles) in a process that took over 3 days to resolve. We were on a driving trip from Cortez back to Littleton (after a few weeks in Scottsdale) when a tire warning light came on. The last time that happened, there was a nail in the tire - so we called the dealership and stopped by to have the tires checked. Josh in the Service Department was great! They checked the tires and didn’t find anything wrong, and just equalized all of the tire pressures. We were in and out in 30 minutes - and felt safe on our drive back to Littleton. That was 5 star service!!! Thank You!!!

Good people, good way of doing business but I feel for the service department. They bust their butts, are genuinely friendly and seem short staffed while over in the main sales building the guys and gals are running all over flirting with each other like teenagers.
On my way to Durango today to have lunch and a semi threw a rock at my windshield and cracked it, well I went to Toyota Service center and Tommy Anderson was amazing and got my windshield replaced right there in less than an hour! You guys are amazing and made my day, thank you again Tommy, best customer service ever!!

I got my first car here and they take care of me every time I come in to get my vehicle serviced. Everyone is so kind! It’s a shame they had to get rid of their car wash because people were blaming them for scratches that were already there. Because of those selfish people wanting to get money out of the dealership, others can’t get a car wash after the service they paid for.

This Tundra was the second vehicle we have purchased at Durango Motors in the last few years. Both have been positive experiences. Salesman Jason responded quickly and patiently to our multiple questions. The bottom line was that Durango Motors was able to match prices we were getting on the same vehicle in other cities. We have had a good experience with the service department as well, so staying local to purchase our vehicle was our preference.

The overall experience was great when purchasing my 2019 4 runner. Bryan in sales was very helpful and knowledgeable. They are not pushy at this dealership and look out for customers. I was even able to get a dog gate at the dealer so my dogs wouldn’t wreck my new car 😊 The SD card was missing and they offered to have someone meet me at my home in Pagosa and get the navigation system etc. up and running so I didn’t have to go back to Durango for it. Highly recommend them!
Drove 2 hours for an oil change. 9am appointment and already 10 cars deep at the express lanes. Estimated 2 hour wait for service. Admit they only have one tech doing oil today. I have all service included but refused to burn 4 hours. Changed my own oil for $35 with full synthetic / filter.

My experience with the service department in Durango was the worst since owning my FJ . Customer service was the farthest thing from the service manager Jonathons mind... his exact words were I need to pay my guys (his reason for refusing to honor a warranty). I love my truck but have had an ongoing and and quite frustrating experience with a transfer switch that engages the 4 wheel drive, something that is crucial in Colorado. For some reason... mine defaults almost every year. After numerous attempts to diagnose at other dealers, they just agree to replace it under warranty when needed. Durango however... replaced the switch unsuccessfully tried to tell me that was not the problem and had the nerve to charge me for it anyway. This left me in the heart of a Colorado winter with NO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. Lucky to be alive today I drove to Arizona where I purchased it and they replaced the switch CORRECTLY under warranty. I would highly recommend for the safety of you and your family to NOT trust the workmanship of Durango Toyota.
This is a review of the Service Dept. Im from Southern New Mexico and came up to Durango with the kids for a spring break with some snow. On day two of the trip a cylinder coil went out on our 2005 highlander - this is a repetitive problem for this car... but this time it was a rear facing cylinder that requires significant work to reach. I contacted Josh with Durango Toyota at 7am the next morning, he worked to help me find parts, agreed to do the work even though we couldnt get Toyota parts fast enough and reserved a rental car for me by 7:30am. When the work was being done, additional significant problems were noticed and they called with the bad news. They found the parts... had to keep the car and extra day but that was ok. When all was said and done he had the mechanic (think his name was Evan) come out and show me the damage parts, explain everything, I was very impressed and Im pretty picky when it comes to work on the car. I wish our local dealership or any local mechanic were this good. They also fixed our heater dial, and somehow reset the tire low light so it stopped coming on (its been a problem for year despite our mechanic trying to get to to stay off). Overall 5 stars. We came to look at a car one day after work. The staff was really nice, but they didnt have the knowledge we needed. They told us to wait and they will get someone more informed. The guy they got for us was so clearly inconvenienced by us. Within the ten minutes we were there he checked his watch at least 5 times. He was very uninterested in selling us anything. We went across the street and bought a Subaru that day.
Excellent treatment by the Durango Motor Company (Durango, CO) staff including Matt in sales and Tracy in finance as well as a host of others in service and sales. We bought a new (2019) Prius XLE All Wheel Drive with extended warranty and service, etc. They have an impressive (comfortable) sales facility, large inventory, as well as a large, well equipped service facility. Matt and Tracy were very helpful, cheerfully answering our questions in detail and with patience. We are very pleased with the whole experience and highly recommend them.

I dont generally write reviews. But, this terrible experience motivated me. The Toyota service department at DMC is dishonest. In short: They lied to me about knowledge of a Toyota Service Bulletin warranty item, they tried multiple ways to convince me my truck wasnt under warranty, they suspiciously couldnt hear the problem even after I had taken the service manager on a test drive where he had indeed heard it, they proudly diagnosed something I had already precisely diagnosed and communicated to them, and they tried to charge me almost double what reputable shops in town charge to fix the warranty issue, even as they were going to use an inferior part. Stealership, indeed. Beware.Heres the full story: I am a lifelong mechanic. I do much of my own work unless I dont have the tools, or if its under warranty. I noticed my Tacoma had a cyclical grinding noise coming from the CV/front differential area at certain speeds. A very short internet search turned up a common issue with the needle bearing on the drivers side of the differential. Easy to test - simply put the truck in 4Hi and if it goes away, the bearing is bad (because the ring gear begins spinning with the CV shaft, rendering the needle bearing immobile). I learned that Toyota had put out a TSB (Toyota Service Bulletin) for the exact same issue on Tundras, the larger truck. My Tacoma is still in the warranty period, so I brought it in for a replacement. Told them what I thought the problem was, and took the service manager for a short drive so he could hear it. He did, and said theyd never heard of a truck with that issue before, and that Toyota hadnt issued any TSB for Tacomas. He said they would diagnose it. I left, he called later that day, and told me they couldnt hear the noise and that my truck was out of the warranty period anyway. I corrected him that my truck was still in the warranty period, and expressed surprise they couldnt hear what the manager and I had clearly heard earlier. They drove it again and heard it; called me back and told me they had diagnosed it as the needle bearing - exactly what I had told them from the beginning. They also claimed it still wasnt under warranty, because of a 1.75 (small) leveling kit that DMC had installed (with no warning that the kit would void any warranties). They said it would cost about $500 to fix using a replacement bearing that was precisely the same as the original - so, failure in another ~50k miles was likely (my conclusion). I did some more research and found that Toyota actually HAD issued a TSB for Tacomas (as well as Tundras, what I first found) for replacing the bearing under warranty. Went to the dealer, and presented them with the TSB documentation. The managers response? A shameful, I know. This was in direct contradiction to what he had told me the day before. He had been caught in at least one direct lie and he knew it.I drove away ready to purchase the needed tools and do it myself - but then on recommendation from a friend, I called Logan and Morgan at Auto Pro, on North Main. They knew all about the common problem, keep all the parts on the shelf, use a longer-term aftermarket fix for the problematic bearing instead of a failure-prone direct replacement, quoted me $275 for the whole process, and charged me exactly that. My Tacoma is smooth as glass now. Kudos to Auto Pro Durango. Not so much for Durango Motor Company. Id rather pay a reputable shop to do a job quickly and very well, than try to get warranty service from a dealership service department where the story is different every time you pick up the phone.
Had a belt break on my Scion between Pagosa Springs and Durango while attempting to get to Mercy Hospital. All the lights came on and I knew it was a matter of time before it died or overheated. Long story short, Josh in service made the repair happen easily and got us back on the road in no time. Very grateful for great customer care and competent service. Thank you!

Thanks to our salesman Victor Padilla and this facility, this was by far the best experience Ive had buying a car anywhere. Honestly, I wandered in hoping just to test drive a used Prius I saw on the internet there. But Victor listened to what I was looking for, showed me a good selection of what could work for my fiance and I. There was absolutely no pressure to buy. The sales experience was more of a fun conversation than a guy trying to sell me a car. A few hours later, we were buying a Corolla. They offered the best deal we could find and the best experience. DONT DO IT! I purchased a 2010 Silverado earlier this year. It has been nothing but trouble! I have put nearly 15,000 miles on it, and thousands in parts and labor. The most recent visit to the mechanic, and confirmed by a certified Chevy dealership, has diagnosed the vehicle with a bad motor, and a full engine replacement being the only solution. Devastating news after owning this truck for only 9 months and following a staunch maintenance schedule. The estimate for an engine swap is $10,000. This will pair nicely with the already high monthly payments. Save yourself a lot of grief and go somewhere that checks their vehicles before they sell them.In response to your response:We both know he isnt going to give me a free motor swap, or reduce my payment $10,000. Tyler and Evan were absolutely the best! I had my oil changed in Denver 2 days ago, where the O-ring was left off the cap to the oil filter, resulting in an oil leak that would have blown the engine if I had not stopped in Durango. I had the car towed to Durango Toyota, and I explained that I was on a road trip and was afraid that major damage had occurred. Tyler was very empathetic, and although I didn’t have an appointment, took care of things immediately. Evan checked the car thoroughly and discovered and showed me the problem, fixed everything and washed the car and degreased the underside, which was covered in oil from the leak. I am on my way to a conference in Phoenix, and because of Tyler and Evan, I will arrive on time and safely 😊 Thank you so much!

Need some answers and no one even cares to call back especially if they know what time you needed your answers by. Not really a friendly type of service department especially if they know you aren’t form there and life happens so you find yourself at a car dealership.
