We rented a condo on the 10th floor overlooking the harbor. Two bedroom two bathrooms full kitchen and in our case a great owner we met after he drove here personally to show us how to use something. It has plenty of room for a family. For sure would enjoy regular visits..

I’ve visited Destin many times over the past couple of years, and each time I fall more in love with the city.I decided to stay at Sterling Shores by Vacasa for my birthday trip and we stayed in unit 807. The views were immaculate and thoroughly enjoyed myself!The heated pool was nice and so was the access to the beach since it was just right across the street. The unit was nice as well, seeing as it had a separate shower and jacuzzi tub in the main bedroom (I got a 2 bedroom since some friends came to visit as well).I look forward to staying here when I come back to Destin!

I did my reservation, and then I looked the negative reviews and I was disappointed, but then when I got there my perspective change. The manager was very nice, he welcomed us very nice, the room was really clean and comfy. The workers of the condo were really nice. The only negative thing was they told us that the beach are was very close but we have to cross the street. But every thing was amazing.

Our unit was clean and comfortable! No complaints. Air conditioning was great, shower and bathroom were clean! No complaints! Beach access was perfect! Water was CLEAR!!!

Quiet during our stay at end of year. Awesome view from room. Two pools with beach access. You do have to cross road to 2nd pool and beach. But road not to busy. Check in was easy.

The biggest plus is they were easy to contact and responded quickly to all inquiries. The unit needs updating, including new furniture and a new shower. There were chunks of dirt in the shower door that was built up, very disgusting. There was also grime on the shower head that looks like its been there for some years. The shower head was broken and the water didnt come out right. There was hair on the wash cloths, glad i brought my own from home. The patio furniture was rusted and needs to be replaced. The bathroom seems larger than the sleeping area. There was no furniture inside accept the bed and 3 dressers/night stands. There was a cheap plastic table and a computer chair by the door, but no where to eat at for 2. The patio door was super hard to open. It was stuck, my husband could barely get it open. The bed wasnt that comfortable and it was small. The floor wasnt cleaned well. I made the mistake walking barefoot and had dirt on the bottom of my feet. It is close to the beach, and they have a resort style big pool and a smaller beach front pool with a snack/drink bar, which wasnt open everyday, not sure why. The front door only says A, not 701A. We were trying to enter our neighbors apartment because our door wasnt labeled correctly. The AC is very loud. You can hear everything in the next room, made me feel there wasnt any privacy. I dont think I would stay in this unit again.

Not impressed. Bugs on the floor and walls, saw a large one on the counter. Smoke alarm was going off when we arrived. Had to turn off circuit breaker off, so we could sleep. Planes from Destin airport fly very close to the buildings and very loud. Was only on the 3rd floor Needs a toilet paper roll. Balcony tables were very rusty. Room 303. To expense. Wasnt pleased at all. People up above this unit 303 was dragging chairs across the floor at all hours. 😠😠😠 never again!

Beautiful quiet place to stay while making memories with family. Great resturants and fishing trips. Also had time to do some shopping. Definitely have a new vacation spot.

I have been coming to sterling shores for the last 10 years and will continue to come back. All units are through VACASA now which is probably for the better. Super clean. We always rented chairs from Michael but he retired this year so we rented from the Sterling shores guys and they were great. I had prepaid for 5 days and 2 of those days were a wash due to the hurricane and they refunded me. Super nice guys, love the location, can’t wait to be back

We stayed in Room 408 this weekend. The room was fantastic with an absolute breathe taking view of the ocean. The bar, bartenders, condo staff and security was all top notch. This is our 3rd condo in Destin weve tried and I would go back to this place. Only reason I give 4 stars is due to the beach staff for this place not allowing canopies. Other than that great spot to Vaca!

Brought my seadoos with me from Texas. Nowhere did it say I cant park in the parking lot with them attached or no attached to the truck. No signs say I cant. But the guy working the gate was rude, had no other options besides he will have it TOWED. rent a 3 bedroom condo. Have 2 cars and a seadoo trailer.... dont come here if you have a trailer.

My stay was from January 1 till February 28. Condo 718 was gorgeous! The beds were fabulous and the bedrooms very large to accommodate all my guest coming and going. The building had a cocktail party on Mondays and a free movie on Thursday nights for all us Snowbirds! The beach beautiful and the heated pool always clean and roomy. Parking and carts close to elevators. Destinsnowbirds group meets Tuesdays at community center. Many activities planned by this group. I joined the golf league for ladies called Nine wine & wine. Met many new friends. Great place to Stay and Play!

The apartment was very good. Its cleanliness too good for the hotel, the attention was nice. We needed extra towels and there was no problems to obtain them. The view of the beach is incredible and my family and I had a nice vacaciones. 100% I recommend the place.

I was very concerned after reading about the bed bugs issue; however, VRBO assured me they would make it right if we arrived to find them. I am glad to report that our unit was clean and bed-bug free!!!The pool and beach were very nice. The beach is a bit crowded and I didnt care for the arm bands we had to wear. The unit was spacious and the balcony was oversized. We had a beautiful view of the clear emerald water all week! I was very pleased with our condo and the value. We saved a little money by crossing the street, and that was really no big deal at all. The road wasnt heavily travelled at all.

Great place, stayed here several times (unit 715) and been please every time! Excellent location (easy walk to the Back Porch restaurant, and the track) pools are top notch and the condo is clean and well taken care of. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation.

Very good

When we got there they never gave us the code to get in and when we kept calling they didn’t answer. They also gave us the rubber bands which is ridiculous also if you don’t turn in is 15 dollars per band. The condo we stayed at was very nice we had a nice view. We didn’t experience any bed bugs. We had access to the beach, pool, and heated pool that was great.

One of the worst hotels I have stayed at. What once was a tradition to stay at sterling shores will now be long gone. The new changes over the year or two have been insane. No check in before 4 or you pay?? I am paying for that room for the day I should be able to check in early if possible. You also now have to wear bands to go to the pools. I most certainly am not doing that, I’ll bring it with me but I’m not wearing it. I pay how much money a night to stay here? I have to wear a band? Think of a better system. There have also been reports of bedbugs which makes sense because the room we checked in lot is DISGUSTING. Stay somewhere else, I promise you will have way more fun anywhere besides here.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This place is awful! When we arrived to our room the place wasn’t clean. They had not cleaned the room, the shower curtains were disgusting, the sheets weren’t clean, the countertops were sticky, the floors had sand on it and had obviously not been swept or anything, AND WORST OF ALL, BED BUGS!!! The beds and couch were all infested with bed bugs.

The resort is attractive with fountains and palm trees, good location to the gulf and The Back Porch restaurant. Located on 98 which is main street and loaded with malls, stores, tourist attractions. Traffic is a nightmare. The condo was adequate in size but in need of TLC. Scuffed and knicked up walls and woodwork. Furniture could use refinish or replacement throughout. Cupboards and vanities have some kind of cheap overlay or facing which comes right off. Formica was chipped and pitted. Upon arrival no pot holders, rusted pizza cutter, and cracked crock pot. Tina replaced these within two hours 👍 living room couch and chair were rather shabby with an odor as were the throw pillows. The area rug needs to be trashed and replaced. So dirty looks beyond cleaning. The second bedroom does not have a closet. Bunk beds take up most of the room. Master closet needs more hangers. Needless to say, we would not rent this condo again.

I have stayed here a few times and my family also has stayed at Sterling Shores without me. None of us ever had any reason to complain. Always above par. It is not the most exclusive property but it is still in a great area. Worth the price break.

Horrible experience. The condo was not clean, with hair on the floors, marks around the shower area, etc. The sliding doors on the master bedroom shower were broken, they could have caused a very serious injury. I guess that’s how well they inspect this place.They also ended up charging $100+ dollars for some rubber band wristbands- which is ridiculous. This charge was not made clear on the contract and NOT ONCE was mentioned when we made the contract in person.So much importance for some rubber bands.Will not be staying here again and DO NOT recommend.

Sterling shores???!! Ha! I give it a one star. There was a colony of bed bugs in not one but TWO beds when I went to this condo. All I wanted was a nice room with the love of my life!! Never give this place a try!

These were pretty nice. The unit we stayed in (311) was pretty good for what we needed. The condos are close to the beach and things to check out around Destin. Id recommend it.

Security isnt as tight as it was in previous years. Seems different security team working there. One of the safety gates to the street not working, open beer can at the pool, family eating while in the pool. It took two different times of security explaining the rules for the family to stop. Destin is getting busier and security should be stronger to accommodate this.

We are traveling from Texas to Destin for my sons baseball tournament. We rented room 718 at sterling shores for $500 a night. After buying $200 worth of groceries we put some stuff in the fridge and went to the beach. Condo appeared nice.. came back from the beach and started cooking dinner. Cockroaches started coming out from everywhere. We realized they were in the cabinets, drawers, food, coffee pot and everywhere. We immediately called and they wanted to send maintenance to spray. I said absolutely not, as I am not staying in a roach infested condo and I’m certainly not cooking food and subjecting my family to chemicals used to kill roaches. After being told they can move us to another location we packed everything up and moved to the new location. We went from a really nice condo to a crack hotel. It was terrible.. come to find out when reading other reviews of Sterling Shores this exact room had a bad review posted not even a week ago of the same exact thing happening. They KNOWINGLY put my family in a roach infested room. Completely disgusting. After spending hours on the phone with them and getting zero resolution we are having to find a hotel last minute because there are zero rooms left. Wyndham vacation rentals is awful, beware. They are dishonest and don’t try to help you. Thank goodness we booked with VRBO and they got involved. We will be getting a full refund or I will be contacting my attorney when I get home. Ridiculous! I have several videos as well of all the roaches!

Very clean. Had some noise from neighbors up above. You need to supervise how many are really staying in the room. Needs more closet space plus hanging hooks on wall and back of bathroom door to hang robes etc. Sleeps 5 so you need somewhere to hang your robes as there is only one tiny closet.

We visit every year. Close beach access with 2 pools, one is heated. They have convenient services: free movie rental, theater movie once a week, yoga. All the condos I have stayed in were clean and well maintained.

Pros: great view and location.Cons: everything had an extra fee! Check in before 4pm, fee. Could not reserve a front row spot at the beach. Cleaning fee of $350. Check out between 10-noon, fee. The free facilities you may use to change in were nearly too disgusting to use as they were barely lit and covered in human filth.Also, the room was very dated. The cabinets were the cheapest contractor grade laminate Ive seen in years and most was cracked with tape covering the cracks. The bunk beds top bunk support was cracked and questionable to support any weight. The bed was as soft as a concrete floor. We actually had to buy a 4 matress pad inordin to get some rest.All in all, the view was not worth the complete lack of quality and exhaustive fees.

The rooms are DISGUSTING, we have stayed in multiple, you can’t check in before 4 or you get charged. The management is absolutely terrible and rude, and so is the security. I’m on vacation I’m not about to worry about having to wear a band to go on the beach or go to the pool when I have paid $800 a night to be here, that is completely ridiculous! I had a guest visiting for a day and they literally kicked them off of the beach! That is insane. Do not stay here, they have had multiple reports of bedbugs and that would make perfect sense because the rooms are not clean. Our bathtub is broken, the lights are broken, dirty dishes with old food, black hand marks on the walls, a broken fridge, food on the floor and cabinets and we have found trash. This is not how sterling shores used to be and they need to fix it. Do not stay here!

Fairly nice condo but looking dated and for some reason the second bedrooms in these condos do not have a closet. The bedrooms are very small and the furniture in them fills the rooms to the point you can almost not walk around the bed in the so called master and not at all in the very small second bedroom. The rest go place is okay but the people in the office is not very friendly at times. There is a young male there ho is down right arrogant and has a big chip in his shoulder or something. Looks to argue with you or does not let you finish asking anything before he starts running his mouth at you.

I gave Sterling Shores 2 stars because the condo was very clean and nicely maintained. However, it was not what we paid for.When making our reservation I specifically asked for a condo with twin beds in the second bedroom for our 2 teens. We were given condo 307 and the description listed 2 twin beds. However, when we arrived we found only 1 bed in the second room. I went downstairs to speak with the front desk; I was told they had no other condos they could put us in. But they would be sending up a roll away bed at no cost to us. Well....ok but I paid over 2 grand for a room that is not what we needed. The front desk made no effort whatsoever to make it right, just said sorry and they would send up a roll away bed. I tried contacting someone via the phone number and website but never got a response. I understand that mistakes happen and even being fully booked and not being able to be moved. But when a customer pays for a service and then doesnt get what they paid for, some kind of effort needs to be made to right that wrong. Which in NO WAY happened at Sterling Shores.In short, yes the condo was nice and well kept, but there are a lot of those in Destin. Next time we visit, we plan on staying somewhere that understands customer service.And for the record, this was brought to their attention over a week ago and they STILL have not changed the description of the condo to reflect 1 bed in the second room. So its obvious they have no interest in making sure guests get what they need.

Perfect Destin condos. Gorgeous views of the ocean with a tropical lagoon style pool. Two pools - one seasonally heated, and one beach-side, with a snack shack bar. Conveniently located close to major Destin attractions. Next to The Back Porch restaurant and The Track entertainment center. Beautifully renovated and decorated condos with on-site property management. My Gulf-front home away from home.

The absolute worst experience I have ever had! We come in from out of state to find bed bugs in all the beds! Management obviously isn’t experienced because they handled the situation terribly and evicted us without a place to stay. They also never refunded us our money, but I guess we’re at fault because they’re condo had bed bugs in it? How much sense does that make? I will never be back at sterling shores and I hope no one else has to go through that.

Haven’t been here in a while but I’m sad I came back honestly. This condominium has downgraded big time. Our room was messy. And lots of things weren’t working. You have to wear wristbands everywhere or you get kicked out, and don’t even thing about loosing one because the cheaply made bands are $15 a piece which is stupid. Do yourself a favor and stay at any other hotel or condo. Will never be back here, and neither will my friends or family.

We came to Sterling Shores via Hurricane Irma. After a harrowing 11 hour drive we were greeted with a comfortable, clean, inviting room with a gorgeous view of the gulf. This review is mainly to compliment the staff, in particular Jeremy in the front office. Our initial stay was for 4 nights and in that time Jeremy was patient with my many questions and overwhelming need to know the sound structure of the condo units as the hurricane took its many twists and turns. Our stay was extended another 3 nights and Jeremy was compassionate and understanding and made us feel at ease. With power still not restored at home and roads impassable, i was once again facing Jeremy this morning to extend yet another 2 nights. It isnt just the fact that, sure there is room available and we are paying, it is how the staff is understanding and has gone above and beyond to make this stressful time a little more manageable. I recommend Sterling Shores for its views, amenities, cleanliness and location to everything, but i highly suggest you spend some time here in the off chance you get to enjoy Jeremys laid back demeanor and amazing service as he, and all the staff, clearly understand customer service! Cant wait to return here for our vacation without hurricane Irma!

I would have given this resort a 5* review if it were not for the fact that there is very little beach space in Destin. It is not really the resorts fault... But there is a company who sets up umbrellas and chairs on the beach, and if you do not rent an umbrella you are made to set up camp in this very tiny spot that is as populated as China... And Lord forbid you get in front of the umbrellas, then someone comes and gets on to you and makes you move.Needless to say it is really hard to watch your kids in the ocean when you are behind two rows of umbrellas. We paid over $3000 for a room and we couldnt even really enjoy the beach.I would like to take a moment at the end of this rant to give the gentleman behind the front desk a compliment. Sir, I dont remember your name, you are an older gentleman with meticulously groomed hair and you were so wonderful to us. You are truly an asset to Sterling Shores and we appreciate your kindness when we came to rant to you.

Never got a check-in email and my wife and kids, which flew in before me at 11pm, spent hours trying to get into the condo. The phone numbers on the closed office were absolutely no help at all and eventually a security guard got them in around 1am.I booked 2 condos, received 2 confirmation numbers, and they only had 1 for us. Sterling Shores blamed Expedia and vice versa. We had 6 people in one condo for 7 days, which was pretty difficult.There are 3 rows of chairs at the beach, and they have assigned seating. We were in the second tie the entire trip dispite my attempts to get into the front row. It’s difficult to enjoy the beach and ensure the kids are safe in the ocean from the back rows.

Sterling shores is not what it used to be. We used to love staying here, but in the past year or two it has really gone downhill. The room we checked into, 305, was so dirty, we are finding old food stains all over the kitchen, trash by the couches, a broken bathtub, and more. You can no longer check in before 4 or you have to pay a fee, you have to wear a band to be in the pool area... by the way that is the most RIDICULOUS rule I have ever come across, I don’t know who thought that was a great idea... I have paid way too much money to stay here to have to have a band on my wrist, I’m not having it. We will no longer be staying here. And to whomever owns this hotel, you need to learn something from Walt Disney World, or your business is going to continue to plummet.

Nice condoms, allot space in side, fast and very friendship service, free Wi-Fi and very pretty meneger, but one minus - not by ocean you have to take walk not much almost nothing but this plays have huge nice yard with crazy clean blue pool.

We are going next week for Spring Break and I am freaking out! Please tell me someone has had a good experience recently?!

I tried to resolve the situation and they make you go from one person to another. My grandfather had a stroke and I had to send my mother to the UK. Therefore I had no choice to cancel the trip. They dont reply! I will take this ti BBB and make sure they will not get paid from me! Especially since they were not sympathetic. And the fact they didnt allow me to keep my original reservation, yet still wanted to charge me! I THINK NOT! I will make sure every social media site knows how remorseful your company is and no one should come to stay at a place like this.

Checked into our room only to find bed bugs! Would never stay there again. We called the emergency contact and were redirected to another condo that was $500 cheaper than our original condo we paid for. Management was extremely disrespectful and refused to give a refund.
