We loved the location and set up at the Inn at Crystal Beach (pool and right in the beach), but we were incredibly disappointed by the cleanliness and black mold in the unit. There was a stain on the master bed mattress and bed frame and every room needed vacuumed first when we arrived. In addition, the slider lock to the balcony in the living area did not work so we had to barricade the door each night with chairs. We were planning on setting up my 4 month old in the master bathroom, but due to the mold we ended up closing the door and stuffing towels under the crack to prevent exposure for the entirety of the trip (essentially we had 1 bathroom unit). I had to put my daughter in the closet, which was much less convenient and comfortable for us. I understand I should have brought it up the first day we were there, but I felt stuck especially after we noticed everything after we had unloaded a baby and toddler and all of our belongings.I sent an email with these issues once we got home. Not sure what I was expecting in return, but didn’t even get a reply email acknowledging these problems…

We loved our stay at the Terrace at Pelican Beach. The condo is well taken care of and up to date. The view off the balcony is outstanding! I would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Destin.

Poor experience. We arrived 45 minutes prior to check in with a toddler and groceries in tow. The door code didn’t work. I called and was told it doesn’t work until 4 pm. Mind you I called 4 hours earlier to let them know we’d be there an hour before checkin. Received no resolutions or solutions and was pretty much told I need to wait until 4 pm even through the unit was already cleaned and empty. There was no empathy. No customer service and no compassion. We had to sit in the car 45 mins and are still waiting to check in. FYI this is after a 13 hour drive. I will never use salt water vacations again nor do I recommend them.

We had an amazing vacation at The Blue Whale! Only a few minor issues came up and Becky was on it and took excellent care of us during our stay!! I would go back anytime!! Thank you so much for helping us with our stay!!

We reserved a condo through Salt Water Vacations in Destin. Before our arrival, hurricane Ida was about to enter the Gulf. We were coming from Texas. I called the day before our rental began and asked what we could do. She first asked if we bought travelers insurance. No, we didn’t. But! Ida ended up a catastrophic storm which made it where we couldn’t drive in. She told me we should have left early but I explained to her my husband had been exposed to Covid and we needed to wait so we could make sure he was negative and well. There was no bending. They are offering nothing. So basically, they stole over 3,000 from us. We would be there if we could! We go once a year to Destin. I’ve never had this experience. Other owners have always been so polite and worked with us. Only one other time we had to reschedule because a hurricane was heading toward our hometown. I’m no stranger to weather events. This company is unreasonable. Not to mention, the last person I spoke with on the phone ‘Jerika’ was so rude! Beware, I will never rent through them again and I feel they need to make this right! I’ve left a message for the manager. Doubtful she will call back. Completely unethical.

Whomever was driving vehicle #3 on hwy 98 at 4:00 on 8/12/21 should take a driving class and learn not to cut off vehicles especially ones pulling trailers.

Our family spent a week in Destin and had a wonderful time. We were very disappointed in the cleanines of the unit. When we arrived there was food platter on the stove, refrigerator, countertop and pantry. All the dishes were dirty in the cabinet,no clean towels,wet laundry in the dryer, food on the floor and toothpaste and soap scum in the bathroom. I contacted the management and someone came the next morning and did basic cleaning. They brought us a vacuum to use. Saltwater did apologize but has not responded to my email request for a cleaning fee refund from two weeks ago

I am renting Shoreline Towers 2114. The pictures on the websites are so deceiving. This place is a dump, the curtains are ripped, bedding is ripped, screen door is ripped and falling apart, and the shower curtains are covered in a lot of black mold, let alone the general dinginess, broken tiles and dirt. I expected the place to be older, and I was fine with that but, I didn’t expect it to be this filthy and gross. I called Saltwater Vacations and they blamed it on the owner but they’re the company that rents it out, has deceiving photos on they’re website and accepted my payments. I will be contacting the Florida Health Dept. and the Florida Attorney General’s Office. This place is a health hazard and I have been deceived, so I need to make others are not taken advantage of and ripped off like I have been. I’ve been considering purchasing a condo on the Emerald Coast but will not purchase in Destin. I am so mortified and the enjoyment of my vacation is down the tubes. DO NOT RENT THiS UNIT!

We reserved a rental property with this company in December for an upcoming trip to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. Today we got a phone call stating that our reservation is cancelled because of open permits. Listing a home that is under construction and is not available for occupancy is unprofessional. I do not recommend this company.*This trip took months to plan! Our trip is now cancelled thanks to this company and their incompetence. There are no other vacation rentals in this area that can accommodate us.

We booked a vacation months ago in the Panhandle of FL. At no time were we warned about them cancelling our booking due to Hurricane Sally. Now with 1 week before check-in, we get a cancellation. They did refund our money, but that doesnt help with all the other reservations and money we paid for this vacation. I understand the Hurricane is nobodys fault, but to cancel someone 1 week before their vacation? You would think they would have known about this weeks ago, or perhaps as a courtesy warn that this is a possibility when booking the condo. I also find it odd the condo was still showing on VRBO. It clearly isnt ready to book. Oh and when I returned a call after receiving the cancellation voicemail, when asked if they had other rentals, I was told dont you think if we had another one we would put you in it...thought that could have been handled a little nicer, instead of snotty.

We stayed at shoreline towers August 8-15 and were not happy and disappointed the very first day. We arrived 3 hours early and called to see if we could get in early because of the little ones. They said no. The next morning we had to wash a few things and on our first load of laundry the washer stopped working. We called and talked to Lisa right away. She said somebody would come out to look at it. They came out the next day but it was Friday before somebody else came. Lisa called and said the owners were going to have to put a new one in. So we had to go all week without a washer. She told us to use the coin operated ones on our floor. Well there was 2 but only one worked. We had to go to the bank twice to get quarters because of the coin shortage. So all week we were running back and forth doing laundry. Lisa told us on Friday she would give us credit for the money we spent on laundry. Really?? All this inconvenience and we are to get $20? This was room 1086. Really disappointing. Also we were reading in a guest book in the room and somebody had written back in 2018 about the door needing a latch to prevent small children from opening door. Well there is still no latch and our small children did open the door. We were very fortunate no accidents happened. It was a nice place and well decorated and of course the beach is absolutely beautiful but could have been a better vacation if things had been handled properly.

Had a wonderful trip to the beach. My room was amazing! Got to spend so quality time with my family. Salt Water Vacations made everything so easy. Thanks!

My family and I stayed here at Salt Water Vacations in June and it was awesome! I love everything about this place. The staff were very friendly. They greeted you as soon as you entered the building. The restaurant staff was awesome as well. This is now my family vacation spot. See you next year Salt Water Vacations!! 🙂

They deserve 6 stars, it was a wonderful family vacation place but glamerous high class place with the best staff, management and so very clean and disinfected, so awesome bottom floor for our children and we had 6 kids, 4 adults, the beach chairs were even the best companyalways set up for us and taken care of in everyway, first time here but we will return here from now on. Our thanks go to all who work for this Salt Water vacations.

I booked a vacation there they refused to refund me my money or give me a later date to stay they basically took my money and told me it was my loss and also stated if I could make it through the hurricane Elsa that would be great so basically they wanted me to put my life and my children’s life in jeopardy and I have a newborn child nobody needs to rent from them

At The Inn at Crystal Beach, I had one of the best experiences ever. The staff was more than generous and accommodating. The meals at the restaurant 790 on the gulf was exquisite. The room cleanliness was up to par. Highly recommend coming to spend your vacation with them. I shall come back every year!!!

Do not book with Salt Water Vacations. They would not offer a vacation refund (Requested at 26 days from travel) even though as an active duty military member I am not authorized to travel to Florida due to the current COVID situation. Their best answer was should have purchased travel insurance. When many other companies are issuing refunds, I would expect a better level of customer care and concern for customer safety. STAY AWAY FROM SALT WATER.

Beware!!! We had a vacation booked with them for this week. I started calling at the beginning of April to change our reservation. Not once did I ask for money back. Just change the dates due to the unknown of covid. We have members of our Traveling party that are immune compromised.I was told at first we would get a credit good for a year. Then later told we would get nothing. I was told by a rep that at some point we just need to live our lives and that they barely had people die in that town. I asked to speak to the property manager multiple times, was told she would call me back.I was then finally given her direct number. I’ve left multiple messages, I’ve emailed and even contacted the company on Facebook. Not ONE call back from the property manager. Weeks have gone buy with zero response from anyone. Terrible business!!! Don’t book with them!!!

The condo was nice.

I had high hopes for our stay at the Spyglass. There were several benefits but some issues as well, beginning long before we left! They were not at all willing to work with us re: possible refund of deposit due to COVID; we had 9 people in our party. The day after we arrive (Fathers Day) I got up and prepared a big breakfast! The gas stove would not work. Hubby tried and tried; called manufacturer of the oven; then called Saltwater. They informed us that, yes, they knew the stove was out of service but thought that it was going to be fixed the day before our arrival. They did not follow up to see about it and it was not fixed! THEN they informed us a part had to be ordered from out of town. They brought us a toaster oven and we never heard from them again! We had to cook all our meals in the toaster oven for 9 people! Very unprofessional and no offers to do anything to compensate for it! Been going to Destin for almost 30 years and rented from several good companies. Will not be renting again from Saltwater!

I booked a condo throught these people and they pulled all of the money out of my account and now I cant get anyone to answer the phone or at least call me back. Horrible customer service if you ask me. I have left at least 10 messages and one email with no response over a week now

BEWARE!!! They raised the price after giving a quote and took money that was not authorized from my account. Do not put any CC info in when inquiring because they will charge your account even if you do not complete the reservation process. I did not complete the process and they will then not return your calls or voicemails. They will continue to ignore you in an attempt to not refund you the money they process without authorization. BEWARE!!

This is a wonderful company that has your rooms clean, fresh, and well prepared. The Salt Water staff is friendly, highly pro-active, and professional. As a frequent traveler, I would heartily recommend them to satisfy the needs of any vacationer.

“I wouldn’t trust them to rent my tent”That’s what another customer has said about them during our conversation. And that couldn’t be any truer.If you’re an owner RUN!!!! They nickel and dime you and lie.I gave them plenty of notice that I would be moving back into my condo a month and a half out. What did they do? Took the remainder of my guest and moved them into other condos. Quit replying to emails and then locked me out of my own condo. Vince Roy is a snake and took me moving back into my condo as a sign of disrespect.... it’s my condo. I need a place to live...if you’re thinking about using them as a property management don’t. They’re awful. They’ll sell you high hopes and leave you losing money. I’ve made more business using Facebook as a source of marketing.I’ve waiting to make this review out of not wanting to speak out of anger and disgust, but a month has past and the more I speak with people and warn them about DEP, I find more results similar to mine.

Had a wonderful time with our first Destin area vacation. Dale Petersons staff was extremely helpful from the 1st call to the 10th and my 100 questions.The whole process check in and out was smooth. We stayed at the destin west and everything was wonderful. Will be booking with them again in the future.

Ive been standing outside this condo for 30 minutes trying to get through to somebody because the code isnt working and Im stuck on an automated voice mail hold that ends up hanging up on me. Answer your freakin phones!
