Love the condo, stay, and location!! The condo was great it didn’t come with chair service but it wasn’t expensive. There was one guy that was not to friendly but all the others were nice when I came to beach service. Beach and pool access was close and nice! We loved that it wasn’t crowded so you could do what you wanted without feeling overloaded and cramped! The location perfect and had easy access to local shopping, food, and necessities! I will be back!!

Condo 212:My family and I have been coming to Destin for a very long time and this is one of the worst condos we have stayed in. To start the whole building itself is old. To get to the pool/beach, you have to walk through a dark gross garage which made us feel very uncomfortable. Inside our condo the couch was so stained and dirty looking, we had to put sheets on it in order to sit on it. The oven hardly works and took a whole day for the fridge to get cold. The washer and dryer hardly worked, squeaked and didn’t dry our clothes. The shower curtains were slimy and needed to be replaced. The rooms itself were tiny, my daughter didn’t even have a place to put her clothes in her room. The whole condo is outdated and needs a major update including the whole building. The only good thing about this condominium was the pool and beach access. Overall, my family and I left a day early and we will not be back. I recommend finding another condominium.

Condo looks just like the pictures, just better!This condo was amazing! The views are worth every penny spent. We loved the fact that this complex isn’t huge like some of the others because we didn’t feel crowded while at the pool or at the beach. Having direct access to the beach was wonderful. Also, having the beach chairs and umbrella service included with our stay was so nice! The beach guys were very friendly! We were on the second row on the beach. We were fine with that because our daughter said that the sand was softer further back so she could build her sand castles. The view was still just as beautiful!the location of the complex was great as well because we were in walking distance to several restaurants and entertainment attractions. Overall our experience was awesome! On our way home my husband, who is quite the critic, said that he would be willing to rent this condo again because he liked it that much. So, thanks so much Vacasa, this condo rental was a solid 10 out of 10 for us!

Loved our stay!Our family of 5 really enjoyed our condo. Beautifully decorated, clean, well stocked with everything we needed. Facility was great - clean and well-cared for. Felt very secure. Only suggestion would be to replace king bed in master suite. Very creaky. Would stay again

The unit we stayed in was nice and had a great view. There were more unexpected fees to pay upon arrival for a parking pass and security bracelets. No handicap beach access and no place to sit on the beach except for beach service of $35 a day. We brought our own umbrella and chairs and were treated rudely by the Sun Sand and Sea beach service employees when we inquired where we could sit with our own chairs and umbrella. After setting up all of our things on the beach out of their way we were told to move, they could have asked us to move before we finished setting up. None of this beach service information was communicated to us before our stay and no information about it in our room other than no canopies or tents. I will never stay here again.

We had a really bad experience staying at Sterling Sands. We parked in the inside garage and in our last night somebody broke into our car and broke our window. Also, another 4 cars parked in the same inside garage. There was no cameras and the police couldnt do anything about it. I just feel this couldve been avoid it if cameras were in place. We do appreciate the staff helping us to clean the car.

Everything was beautiful. From the service we received from the front office to the condo, the view the sand and the water.

Had a great time. Vacasa was great to work with. Unit 103 was clean and the condo was close to all the places you need to visit.

Refridgerator broken, stove broke after one day, dirty unit, elevator broken 3 days. HUGE waste of money.

When we arrived there was a bug on the wall didn’t think anything of it. the next day I seen more on the walls so we called the front desk about it and they had a someone to come spray the rooms and they told us that the bugs were Asian roaches, so later on that night I went to turn the lights on and they were all over the place on the trashcan and counter. I wouldn’t recommend for you to stay here.

Absolutely loved this place! Very close to the ocean and is convenient for any shopping or eating out.

Had some issues getting into unit because I hadnt received door code. After finally getting into #806 everything went okay. Condo was decorated nicely, but could use a refresh. Wi-fi was very unstable and froze often while streaming on tv. The views are worth every penny of the rent! Our stay was in late February into March, so not many people were around, but those that were, were mostly older snow birds. The pool and hot tub were wonderful even though many daytime highs were only in the 50s. I didnt like that during our second week the city took away the nice free loungers and started charging rent for chairs and an umbrella that you arent allowed to set up personal stuff in front of. Would definitely return, or possibly even purchase in this building.

Dont waste your time outdated over priced you cant get close to the beach unless you pay $$$ extra for the beach chairs

We booked a stay last September in Unit 314 which was a 3 bedroom condo. It had recently been remodeled and was very clean with new firm mattresses. The wrap around balcony gave us perfect gulf views. My wife loved the new fitness center and pool which was almost directly below us. There are dozens of waterfront restaurants within minutes of here and only a 5 minute beach walk to the famous Back porch. The free beach lounge chairs and umbrella were a nice touch. We will definitely be back!

Outdated and Dingy unit#407The pictures were deceiving. I killed 3 roaches during our stay. The furniture was stained and uncomfortable. Cracked tile and stained carpet/rug. Kitchen was fair.I would not stay here again and this was our second trip to Destin. Positives: great view and friendly staff.

Very Beautiful View. Had a Great time except the Speeding loud cars Trucks etc. from 11pm till 3am makes for some sleepless nights.

Amazing! Stayed in unit 212 and it was absolutely gorgeous! Very well kept and beautifully decorated and clean. You can tell the owners have pride in keeping this unit pristine. We will definitely be coming back and requesting this particular unit. The beach was not too crowded and it was always kept clean. A family friendly resort.

Clean room, nice

Condo wasn’t fully cleaned upon arrival, bugs crawling around, hair left in fridge, items left in fridge and dressers, old dish sponge left from from previous tenants. We stayed in room 408. My kids love the bunk bed set up, except the ladder to top bunk is broken and unsafe. The master bed is very comfy, The air conditioning works fantastically except for a loud whistle/squeal that will keep you up at night! The owner of condo is very responsive to get all things fixed but the ac continued to squeal. The pool is great and location of property is perfect but the equipment rental guys will keep us from returning. Unpleasant and rude!

Not a good experience for us. Lost our reservation before we got here condo was filthy and the ac was out. We’ve been here 2 days without a repair ! I definitely won’t be staying here again .

So comforting best place to just relax or have fun

Please do not waste your money here. Our vacation has been a nightmare. When we arrived we were met by a rude guy who said he was trying to leave early and told us to have security get our pool bands when they arrived at 6 pm. Both of the elevators were out so we had to lug everything 4 flights of stairs.The pool was lukewarm which explained why only 2 people were using it. The manager guy became rude when we asked if it would be fixed. His remark was ; we can’t help that, it’s hot in Florida”. As many times as we’ve been to Florida, over the last 20 years, we have never experienced this at any other resort. We live in the south, have a pool and actually have sun where we live🤭. We have a cooler on our pool. And it stays cold. So this pool must not have a cooler.Our condo was quite different then the pics. It states 2 bedrooms. And stated the 2nd bedroom had two trundle beds. It’s basically a 9 by 9 room with 1 day bed, no closet and a night stand for a chest of drawers. It appears they split a condo into 2 condos. They used mirrors to appear to look as if the bedroom had 2 beds and was much larger than it is.They also charge $3.00 for ice.End of day 2 and only 1 elevator working.Since customer service is such a low priority, will post this negative review on Yelp. No one deserves a vacation ruined by the very resort they are staying in.

Awesome Property

DO NOT BOOk, unless you want to be stressed out on your vacation!!! We were told we were allowed to have visitors but they couldn’t access the pool, well my kids wanted to swim so they sat with us at the pool and the security guard kicked them out. The security guard is extremely rude!!! Then our visitors got a warning note that their vehicle would be towed. On top of that we had a lot of problems with our unit, the TV cable didn’t work on one TV, I opened a cabinet door and it broke off and fell on me, the dryer took all day to dry anything, and some sockets didn’t work. Our first experience on the beach was getting told to move because we didn’t pay $35 to rent their chairs and umbrellas, luckily the lady behind us that did rent the chairs and umbrella told us we weren’t bothering her and we could stay where we were. Lastly, when you check in you have to pay for the wrist bands and parking pass. This is the first condominium rental I have had problems with so do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!

Very mixed when I write this review. Overall we had a great time on vacation and Destin is beautiful! The beaches are so clean! The beautiful white sand is amazing, and depending on the day, crystal clear waters!The fact that the city/state does have planes flying over to check for sharks, especially in a huge tourist town, does mean they’re doing their due diligence, which is much appreciated. *traffic does suck & it’s like one road in, one toad out.*As far as the condo, I don’t know whether to blame on individual owners or condo as a whole. Sterling “Sads” as the sign said ... the N was missing. Take it as you will.The swimming pool is nice and beautiful, as well as the fitness center and convenience of a grill down by the pool. You must wear your band to be down by the pool, and a hit or miss if there will be a guard there checking.The “front desk” lady was super unhelpful and you must go to a different janky office to even get registered in.The condo itself (403) was weirdly covered in mirrors - hello 70s - and almost nothing provided.We had to get more toilet paper (left us with one roll left between two bathrooms), trash bags, didn’t tell us what to do with trash bags, the room was falling apart - doors coming off hinges, literally taped, and the fridge barely works, etc.I usually don’t mind the rooms because I spend most of my time on vacation outdoors, but I want it to be useable and clean.It’s definitely misleading on sleeping 6, so glad some family backed out on the trip, don’t know where they would’ve slept.And glad we were so tired from the sun everyday we were able to sleep on the rock hard mattresses that are probably 20 years old.

The beds will be filled with sand from the previous guests. There will also be a staff member guarding the door to the pool some days, so you will need to wear the pool band or entrance will be denied. Remember or have all of the E-lock passwords at hand to get into the pool, into your apartment, and through the beach gate.

DONT RENT UNIT #603. We booked for 35 days and were leaving after 2 weeks even though we wont get a refund for the remainder of our time . The unit has the following: dirty carpet; couch needs replaced as its so uncomfortable and sinks down when you sit on it; both shower heads are terrible as the water sprays into the shower curtain and wall not on your body; both shower drains were clogged and had to call maintenance; 2nd bedroom has no closet; entire unit was dirty and there were dust bunnies all over; the green leather chair was cracked and peeling Southern Resorts came and removed it because it was disgusting to look it. We wouldnt recommend this unit to our worst enemy!

Such a nice development. Smaller building with all of the same amenities including similar amount of beachfront. This results in smaller crowds at the pool and on the sand. The grounds are very well kept and clean. The beach umbrella crew is very professional and friendly.

Stayed in room 103 on the first floor. clogged drain had to call management. bug crawling across the floor in the kitchen. wasn’t cleaned very well hair and pee on toilet before it was even used. cracked sink mold on the ceiling in the bedroom or something that looks like that (it’s black)

Crazy that a condo you pay for at almost 3k for a week. Doesnt supply toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap, salt & pepper. Never been to a condo with no bare necessities. It was a nice spot on beach. Probably wont be going back. Just odd.

When I checked in the receptionist asked me how long we were staying and I told her probably two nights. She never mentioned that there was a three day limit and we would be charged for three days regardless if we only stayed two. After staying two nights we decided to go home and when I went to check out the receptionist (who was different from the one when I checked in) was very rude and adamant that I should have know there was a three day minimum and that she was sure the lady that checked me in told me about it. I dont know how she was so sure of the conversation that went out outside her presence, but I will never stay there again because of the rudeness and the fact that they would not discount the third night at all. Very poor personnel service.

I made reservations at Sterling Sands we usually stay at Sterling Shores but last minute planningUnit 307 was dirty when we checked in the unit was not cleaned properly hair was on the floor the bedding had grease stains on them! The view was nice thats about it! They requested that we had to empty trash when we left out sterling sands was just ok but unit 307 was dirty and the pool was down all weekend kinda put a damper on my stay

We love the Sterling Sands Condos. Clean area with private beach. Near the water so you can just walk out. Snowcone stand right at beach so the kids can have a fun treat. Centrally located to all the food and fun. Loved this area. The owners of the condo we stayed in even gave us free chairs and umbrella rentals. Didnt have to worry about a thing. Loved it.

Beyond amazing. Went there to deliver some appliances........ If you ever get the opportunity I highly highly suggest, staying in this community.

Couldn’t get to the vending machines for a snack or a drink because it’s behind the pool gates that closes at 11:00pm, have to have a hotel bracelet to be around the pool, also was in the hot tub before anyone else got in and five more people got in and I was told to get out because I was in there the longest before anyone else got in because of cdc only allows five people in the hot tub.

The view of the beach from our balcony was amazing. Beach access was super convenient. The room was nice for the price we paid. There was a flash flood during our stay with high winds and one of the rooms ended up having water gather under the carpet. There werent any other condos available, so we couldnt move rooms. I plan on staying at Sterling Sands next time we visit Destin. It is definitely a family friendly location and I highly recommend staying there.

Decent condo, but improvements could be made. The private beach in front of the condo is 95% reserved by expensive umbrella chairs and unfriendly staff. Very little room to bring your own chair or umbrella, and even less that isnt already obstructed by seats that remain 75% empty along with a long list of rules about what is and isnt allowed. This is enough to deter us from returning.

We have rented a beachfront condo for many years - this was easily the worst one weve ever rented! And not just the unit, which was disgusting ( carpet in a sandy beach condo!!), but you had to walk through a dark, dim garage to reach the pool/beach entrance! I wasnt comfortable letting my teenager go back and forth between the Beach and condo by herself bc she could have been snatched or assaulted in the dark garage!! It was truly awful, we will never rent there again!!!

Good luck with your reservations being correct. Had to call 800 number and wait over a hour to get in. One towel for 2 people. Complained when the office opened in the morning and was told it was not his fault, which it wasnt. He then said if we wanted compensation to call sterling. Very unprofessional and confrontational. Recommend find somewhere else to stay.....NO ONE CARES!!!!!!

STAY AWAY FROM ROOM *509*!!!!2nd time we stayed there. Its got a great beach. Our first room ever 2yrs ago was amazing. Had the kind of decor we like and nice jacuzzi tub. 2room was as good just not cleaned well. We had to move rooms because of availably. Moved us to room 509. DO NOT RENT THIS ROOM IT IS HORRIBLE!!!! SMELLED LIKE SMOKE AND THE DECOR WAS FROM AN OLD SITCOM TV SHOW!!! NOT WORTH THE DELUXE RATING! HOPE OUR NEXT ROOM IS NOT LIKE THAT ONE!!

My nephew came to visit and brought his family and another couple. They stayed at Sterling sands and loved the rooms, pool, and beach.

Nice building and staff. Unit 708 desperately needs updating as far as the furniture and bedrooms. 2nd bedroom is extremely small. And bed couch is very uncomfortable. Will not stay in this unit again.

Im from S.E. Texas,about 60 mins away from our beaches. Let me make this very clear I wouldnt stick my big toe in our water. Once I visited this condo I was hooked. !!! This is my 3rd time visiting this particular condo and everything was jam up. My family and cant wait till July to go back

The condo I got to visit here was the nicest one Id ever been in. Its in a convenient location in Destin, not too far from Big Kahunas or Krispy Kreme!

We has a very good stay and exceeded our expectations.

We booked a room on the 3 floor with king bed and they gave us a room on 1st floor with queen bed Ok not to bad. went to the beach and sat in the sand in front of the empty chairs the rental company came over and said we had to move over to a uneven side of the beach about 40 ft stretch if we didnt rent there chairs and that we could not sit in front of empty chairs the rental company said its in the contract. the room isnt bad but for the money its not worth it they do a bait and switch for sure and sitting on the balcony watching a table of guys passing marinara around and the security walks right by and doesnt say anything its definitely a lower class place. I paid $1,300 for 5 days in august I dont think that is a lower class price elevator doesnt work half the time they will not let you park in parking deck its basically like if you dont own the condo they treat you like a step child. I would definitely not come back even if they gave it to me for a week.. now we are driving around finding a better place to stay for next time trust me when I say if you have a family find another place in destin
