I used to love it here. The only person that does anything is Britney all of the other people in the office are very rude especially Kayla. She didn’t even look like she wanted to hear my entire story she kept interrupting me and it was concerning the safety of me and my child in our unit because they have yet to fix my back door after I have asked them too many times. All I wanted to do was move units and was willing to pay what I needed to pay but she was so rude I’m just gonna go ahead and break my lease because if Britney‘s not there nothing gets done.

I don’t usually review places, but this place was so bad. The first unit I was in in building 2 was infested with bed bugs and the property just kept spraying our unit…no heat treatment or treating neighbors. Building 4 seemed bed bug free for the 5 months I lived there to get out of the lease. But bed bugs, safety issues, and lack of control over when to switch between A/C and heat left a lot lacking.

I, my two children, and our pup have lived her since the end of Jan 2021. I would not suggest moving here unless you have nowhere else to go. Several aspects of the apartment were dirty or broken upon us moving in. Things did get fixed but the more important things like being without heat in the middle of a blizzard because the heat doesn’t work properly are completely unacceptable. I really could go on about the poor condition of the apartment. They did a great job of covering it up tho!!The area is great but the prices they are charging and far from what they are actually worth. They nickel and dime you for everything and then make you do their job when things like the washers are broken. Super disappointing and I’m certain I will be breaking my lease.

I have been living here for almost two years. The new managment is professional and made many new improvements. New laundry room, new cooling/heating system, new fitness center, and upgrates inside and outside the units. The place looks beautiful, especially on the Donald St side. Maintaince is the best I have ever encounter. My dishwasher broke and they brought a new one two days later! The apartments are close to the Highline canal trail, good for those who like biking or walking.

Management seems to only be responsive through google reviews. They advertised A/C. The do not have A/C. If you like to spend your time in a 90 degree box with poor airflow, then this might be a good fit. Living conditions in far away combat posts are comparable, maybe better, the rent and food are free.My vehicle was stolen during broad daylight and the management was not able to help in any way. Cameras are not there for the residents, they are only for the office.Ive had multiple packages stolen. They moved to a courier service which is still unreliable.Water outages are very common. They seem to have to turn the hot water off a lot.If you see all the one star reviews and think, I dont know...maybe Ill check it out. Smack yourself, rinse and repeat.

The office was not responsive to my concerns. The security guard hired is responsible for The Ventana, and other properties, so it is impossible for her to always be at this one. She was not made aware of the situation, but instead was instructed to keep the homeless out of the laundry room .The vacant apartment across the hallway from me was also left UNLOCKED after I had informed them of a man trying to break into man, giving him a spot to hide and wait.If safety is important to you I would NOT recommend this apartment. There are far better ones with comparative prices.

DO NOT SIGN ON HERE!Read the reviews you will get the point.Poor quality apartments that are over priced and falling apart. You’d think it’s typical apartment life but these are low quality- inside (Recently painted to cover the age of the building). Buildings stink like dog urine with stains in the carpet, hallway doors are falling off the hinges, holes in light fixtures, 2 inch gaps between the floors and doors so you waste your electricity, a/c doesn’t work with a promise to reimburse if you buy a window unit... during July and COvid where people have endless money, water gets shut off every week for one thing or another with no notification. What a wreck! Office members provide vague answers to inquiries and when the issue is pushed for a direct answer that applies to your “personal” situation office members get upset and develop an attitude. To make matters worse, you still end up with no direct answer and forced to use context clues to figure things out. For the money Ventana is asking, drive one more mile and rent a place you can invite family over for dinner without feeling ashamed or embarrassed. Again, SIGN ON SOMEWHERE ELSE!

The website may lead you to believe that you are getting a well-maintained apartment at a reasonable price, but the reality of the situation is that the apartments here are falling apart. Management places bandaids on the situation to increase rent for new tenants. My apartment received renovations a few weeks ago, with only mild improvements made. The maintenance crew left the mess they made without any attempt of cleaning up. I found nails and screws in my carpet for weeks, there was chipped drywall and paint all over, and mud in my windowsills after an attempt to clean the outside of the building. Management is only concerned with doing the very least to create the appearance of care for its tenants.

We lived in a town-home (Complex 5) of Ventana Apartments for one year 2019-20. It was homey neighbors and the new management team makes it more and more practically better. Elementary and Middle School is just cross the street so my son was very happy to go and back from the school by himself. The house club is great, we love to go swimming pool at weekend with other neighbors kids. My son is still missing the place and his friends in Ventana. Wonderful living for family ... We recommend this place if you are working in downtown or you go to CU-Denver, the highway is just 3 mins and Colorado Station is 5 mins away. It is really practical place to live in Denver.

We just moved into a townhouse apartment after living in a 2 bedroom for several years. Love the space in the townhome! Large living/dining area, working fireplace, and plenty of closet space. The townhouse feels more like a home than an apartment. The 2 bedroom apartment had two large walk in closets. Management and maintenance staff are responsive and genuinely invested in addressing any concerns. Close to Highline Canal and within a 15 minute walking distance of Colorado Station. Though close to Evans, feels private as it’s within the neighborhood. What people newer to the community might not realize is that this latest management has been shouldered with bringing an older property up to speed, but the courtyards are looking good, and they are working on a renovated pool and laundry facility. Hopeful things are just going to get better as further improvements are made. For example, after taking the time to fix properly, the central air is wonderful; by not just band-aiding the problem with heating/air, management has ensured heat will function properly this winter. I’ve looked at some of the reviews and have to say I think a good portion of them are an unfair assessment: I don’t know of any other complex that doesn’t charge additional utilities, so-called “rubs” (my coworkers live in high end apartments and are charged these fees). This and similar concerns seem to me problems of current trends within the Spectacle of late Capitalism that are turning the Denver area into another San Francisco, and should be addressed at the macro level of society. To sum up, what you’re trading out, compared to the newest/shiniest complexes, is more space, a feeling of home, working fireplace, a decent location, a pool that you can actually do laps in, and, most important, management sincerely committed to the wellbeing of this apartment community.

******DO NOT MOVE HERE********If I could give this complex a negative 10 star, I definitely would. After living here for a year, I do not have one good thing to say about this place. The apartment you are shown is nothing like the one you get. Repairs are not done properly, heat/air conditioning is always having a problem. To get any sort of help & repair done properly, you literally have to complain so much.On top of not good living conditions, the employees here are not properly trained. The turn overrate in employees is a good example of how unprofessional this complex is. Two employees will tell you one thing than other employee will tell you a total opposite thing. The management here does not care about the people who live in the complex & makes sure its known. The complex lies, nothing is actually updated. The kitchens are the same original cabinets, but a new door is put on. In the model apartment shown to people, the kitchen is actually remodeled. The fireplaces in the apartments do not work properly, Denver Fire Department confirmed this with me due to an issue. The plumping is awful, my neighbors have had more damages done than I can count on my fingers. When it snows, its rare if the sidewalks are actually shoveled and salted. Which you pay for in your lease.Basically, this complex is like living in hell. It has an ant/spider problem, the people they hire are not trained at all, and if you need anything done, it most likely will not happen. I could go on & on about horrible this place is but I will just leave it at this.

The Ventana apartments was acquired by Birge & Held at the beginning of the COVID pandemic. During that time management had not only got hit with the results of tenants loosing jobs and facing evictions but they had the tremendous task of revamping the property from previous ownership. As the pandemic raged on and job loss began to soar, Nicole Stephans and the new admin and maintenance team swung into actin to help residents save their homes. Despite these and several more challenges, they persevered to do the best they could considering the circumstances. Even as I moved from the property, Nicole made the transition painless. Not even sure where to begin. When we first moved in, the apartment above us had a water leak that was dripping in to our apartment, there were puddles of water in our hallway and it took maintenance a while to ever address the problem. After this, our refrigerator stopped working within the first couple of weeks. All of our food went bad because maintenance took a while to come, we were only compensated $50 for a full fridge and freezer of food for 3 people. When we moved in, our patio/balcony door was off the railing and you would have to lift it to move it, also the glass was falling out of the frame and 2 of the 3 bedroom windows had no lock on them whatsoever. We lived here for 5-6 months with 2 Emotional Support animals before either issue was ever addressed. Recently, we discovered bed bugs and when we have attempted to contact the offices, they take several days to reply. It has already been a week and a half since we reported this to the office and they have yet to let us know when the exterminator is supposedly coming to treat these bugs. I highly DO NOT recommend these apartments unless you are looking for a stressful place to live that constantly has issues.

When I moved in it was pretty great and the old maintenance crew was nice too. Unfortunately they were bought out recently and this new management company is terrible!!!I have a novel to write, but basically I’ve had ongoing issues with my hot water, the laundry machines are always breaking no matter which building you go to and you can only input money on a card to use them. This card can only be refilled with a machine that’s only located IN THE LOBBY - so when you want to do your laundry on a Sunday and the lobby is closed, sorry you’re out of luck if you don’t have enough money on your card already. Also the communication between the management office and the residents is kind of sad, they tell you some things, but will not tell you about work being done on your building - right next to your window, and if you pay for a parking space it’s pointless, cause they don’t tow them out of the parking space and they can’t even confirm you pay for unless they look you up. I can’t tell you how many times they’ve messed up my rent either because it’s been too often.Just do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time.

If you want to live at The Ventana, get ready to deal with some of the worst management and issues that will get you begging to leave just as quickly as you moved in.My biggest complaints? Birge and Held provides the least responsive management that I have ever seen. Multiple times I had submitted service requests through the resident portal for an air conditioner condensate leak. It took them six weeks to even look at the service request, then it was immediately closed without response. I submitted a second one, and they did come to look at it, but nothing was fixed and the air conditioner was still leaking like a faucet. Our hallway was getting flooded. In addition to this, when our original sliding glass door broke, it took them three months to replace it, and then that one broke two days later. Another month and a half before they fixed it so it could be fully functional. And if you are able to get a hold of management? You will not get direct solutions to your issues, and they always seem to be in a rush when they are not too busy ignoring your calls and e-mails.In addition to this, management only seems to care about making the outside of the buildings look better, and doing renovations that do not need to be done. They have gone above and beyond with improving the exterior of the buildings, but have completely ignored residents who live inside. They will also walk into the units unannounced to make changes and then expect you to immediately comply, or pay a large fee for not being ready. Most of the time, as well, these improvements end up making no real change to the functionality of the unit, only to make it look better. They seem to not care that it functions properly, only if it looks okay.Do you like hidden fees as well? You will get charged with a ton of them. When you go to make your rent payments, you will find a ton of hidden fees that were not written into your lease and you are expected to pay anyway. You will be charged for managements mistakes and utilities that you have not been using. You will be charged service fees for no reason. Even if your heat and AC do not work, or your water gets shut off, you will still have to pay! They also have a tendency to do this without any notice, leaving you frustrated when you get home on a hot day and find that your AC is out. Or worse, out but still leaking all over your hallway.Theyll also try to rope you into a longer term than what you signed for on your lease, so watch out for that. I had to send them a copy of my lease on four different occasions to prove the end date of my lease, and they still never updated their system to show.I could go on for much longer than this, but I think this will suffice for now. Dont get me wrong, the neighbors are (for the most part) pretty okay, and the complex is situated in a convenient spot within Denver. But dont let this and the below-average rental quotes draw you in too much. This is a shining example of how you get what you pay for. I lived here for just shy of three years, and Birge and Held thoroughly soured my experience for the complex. I turned in my keys today as today was the last day of my lease, and am as ready as ever to leave this place in the dust.

DONT LIVE HERE!Ive been here almost a year and I gotta say its the worst place Ive lived in. They never are there the hours they say they are, they do not answer the phones and when you leave messages they do not call back. Ive even been at the door knocking and the girl at the desk ignored me (she did not have headphones in). They randomly do renovations with little warning, and truthfully nothing is better after they are done but you are still expected to move around your furniture and belongings or have to pay a fine if you dont. Its June first and Its been in the 90s and 80s for the past couple weeks, being a record high spring. They still will not turn the AC on saying that the temperature will be in the 60s on Saturday. Its not. The temperature will be 80s until friday it will be 93 and 86 on Saturday. So they are just flat out lying as if we cant check the weather on our phones. Some people are quarentined and many of us have animals. They arent giving us any breaks on rent so I cant imagine why they are refusing to turn the air on. The amenities are high priced, there is a 40 energy bill for them, and you have to pay your own electricity on top of that. There office is never open to fill your laundry card so I cant do my laundry and it sucks I have to pay for it. They amenities are closed during the pandemic (understandable) BUT WE STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM. I never write reviews but I just feel so strongly against this place.

I lived in a one bedroom from September 2016 to April 2017. I moved here straight from Texas for a job transfer and signed the apartment without even seeing it because a lot people left great reviews. When I arrived in Denver, I met with Alex, she showed me around my apartment (super clean from previous tenant) and handed me the keys. I have no complaints for the complex, though I didnt receive my full deposit back ( my fault because I didnt clean the fireplace and forgot my summer tires on the balcony). Any maintenance I ssue Ive ever experienced, every single person in that office was diligent about putting in a maintenance ticket and every maintenance issue was worked in at least 2 days. A few times, my company payroll department messed up my paycheck and Alex was super understanding and refrained from charging my account legal fees. Alex and team are super focused on making sure tenants are well taken care of. This was a great first apartment to live in moving to Denver. Calm community with a bunch of kids so its super family friendly which I love. Super spacious, clean and updated bathrooms and kitchens. Only issue I had was people leaving their clothes in washing and drying machines for hours to the point that I had to remove their clothes so I could wash and dry mine (again not the community managers fault). I plan on coming back and renting again in March 2018.

After living here for over a year, I can say that this is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. They look attractive with their below-market rent rates, but hidden in the fine print youll be charged an extra $100-$200 per month for common area utilities. Furthermore, the management are some of the most incompetent people Ive ever had the displeasure to deal with. They lack communication and accountability, dont believe me, try getting their parent company on the phone... They wont answer or return your call. They are currently giving the property a facelift, but the real problems here are the guts of the apartment. While I was living here, I went without heat for numerous days in the winter, and numerous times without air conditioning in the summer. In fact, when the main A/C broke in the height of the summer heat, they refused to fix it until next season because summer was almost over (this was at the beginning of august). Furthermore, the homeless people love digging through the dumpsters there. When confronted with this issue, management will tell you to call Denver PD which will take 3 hours to come and by that time they are gone. Instead of moving the dumpsters to a secure location, they just seek to shift the problem on to someone elses plate. This behavior is characteristic of the symptoms that plague the management team at this property. From the time I lived there, no less than 5 different managers worked at the property (thats less than 3 months per manager). Amy Riedel, the current manager is by far the worst and deserves to be sacked for her utter incompetence. I mean who hires a manager that doesnt even understand the difference between where/were/were.If you are reading this, I beg you not to move here, you will be happier elsewhere for less money.Edit: after posting this review, the property managers (Amy Riedel) husband (Nick Riedel) went through the trouble of Facebook stalking me only to try and intimidate me via a private message. Is this really the type of behavior you want to deal with when holding staff accountable? Think thrice before moving here.

Its super pet-friendly, youll see people with their dogs all the time which is so great in Colorado. The maintenance staff do a great job, I had a couple of issues (first time in a year and a half, guess I was due!) and they fixed everything in one afternoon - havent had any issues since! The staff in the office are great - Alex (Manager) & Emilio (Assistant Manager) are approachable and helpful. They care about their community! The landscapers do a fabulous job, the community grounds always look nice and lush with beautiful flowers and trees. As a girl living on her own I was very careful about where I chose to live, this is a safe, kind community and I havent had any uncomfortable situations in my year and a half here. My neighbors are all super nice and wave hello. There is access to the High Line Canal bike/walking trail behind the community, great way to escape the city and have a peaceful walk. The Ventana FINALLY has recycling now too! Hooray! My one complaint: the recharging station for the laundry cards is located in the leasing office (not the laundry room), so when you need to reload your card, you have to do so within the leasing office hours....not great for working folks like me, but thats the only complaint I have! You cant go wrong here!

Spoke with Denise. Checked out a one bed one bath. Loved it. Told Denise i didn’t know if I could apply for it today. She said she would PUT IT ASIDE for me until Monday(we spoke on Saturday ) which she didn’t. She said she wouldn’t sell it to anyone until I reached out to her by today. No answer . Called the main office to find out it’s already been sold. Also, she did not mention that if I kept the apartment on hold for 15 days, the monthlyPrice would increase once I actually move in. Horrible experience. Would’ve loved to live here.

Now, I wanna start this by saying that if your looking for a really nice quality apartment this may not be your first choice, but the price is worth these apartments. I live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath with two other roommates and rent is great for where we live and what we live in. We stuck out a 15 month lease and decided to go somewhere else. Long story short, we have been at the new place for about 5 days and had multiple problems. The Ventana staff was very helpful and bent over backwards to help us get our nice little 3 bedroom back. The maintenance is fairly quick about fixes once you give the staff the notice. We love our neighbors across the hall, its a pretty good place to get started if your looking to get a nice little place. The Ventana was the right choice for what we needed at that time and they have been moving but great to us in all our endeavors. I hope they keep doing what theyre doing and keep giving people what they need.

The Ventana was good, I lived here for 1 and a half years. My unit was clean and did not have any bugs. Felt safe, mostly just kids and families around. Office managers were for the most part good. Alex was great and was very helpful all the time. We outgrew our apartment and did not want to pay what they were charging for a one bedroom or two bedroom, we needed something bigger. Our neighbors often smoked cigarettes or marijuana inside so the smells would fill the hallways and sometimes get into our apartment. Units were kind of old but hidden with several layers of paint. Laundry felt expensive and every time I needed to do laundry the office was closed so I couldnt refill my laundry card. I didnt use the pool too much, most of the time there were several kids playing in the pool.

The staff is just god awful! Felt so disorganized and like they didn’t know at all what they were doing. We made an appointment to visit a three bedroom apartment and when we got there they had forgotten about our appointment, said they didn’t have a three bedroom available even though over the phone they said they had one, and the whole staff was at lunch when we got there (and we were right on time not early or late). The man who eventually helped us, after we waited for about 15 minutes (emilio??) was dismissive, rude, disrespectful. It felt like he could not be bothered with our presence or questions. Barely wanted to show us an apartment to start with and then found excuses as to why he couldn’t (stated he could not because of “legal issues” with our move in date being too far out, however we looked at 5 other apartments on the same day with the same move in date and they had no “legal issues”). Felt like he just didn’t want to deal with us. He didn’t take us seriously at all and the whole interaction was painful. We never even got to see the apartment at all. SO unprofessional. I would rate the 0 stars if I could, unfortunately I have to give it at least 1 to submit this. I would avoid the Ventana and it’s horrible horrible staff at all costs.

Poor Maintenance, Poor service. It took four phone calls two emails and three visits for them to change out a dying fire alarm in the hallway that is too tall your residents to access. So we listened to the incessant beeping for 3 weeks. We were also show an apartment that was open on Donald street however the one we got was with a view of the semi truck parking lot. They are deceptive and have very poor follow up. Also the nice looking pool was out of order for months along with a hot tub that runs at a sizzling 88 degrees. Our hallway smells like feces and they will not clean the carpets. Also, there were roaches. Not big roaches like in Texas but they were there. Look elsewhere there are deals much better.

Update: Although the first few months here were pleasant considering the review below I felt it necessary to update this out of obligation. At this point we have been without ac in our building for about a week, last night we stayed a hotel because of the heat. I have reached out to see about a time frame and my calls are never returned. We were told when the last company left that we would need to pay with a cashiers check, now finding out today we can indeed pay with a money order. The new management has not updated us on the Status of the repair however they are very clear that they won’t be crediting the rent which doesn’t make much sense. I should not have to buy a separate ac when I pay for it on time monthly. I’m addition to that a few months ago i requested pest control and after some mix ups i was added to the list but nothing ever happened. I’ve bombed my apartment twice and have still seen bugs, even with the apartment almost empty which means an infestation in the building that they refuse to address. This has truly soured my experience and I cannot wait to leave.I have had a positive experience since moving in in October. There were a few maintenance issues to start but John and Darren made sure they were resolved in a timely manner. Emilio was nothing but helpful during this time making sure everything was up to standard. From what I understand he is the new manager so it was pretty impressive how involved he was in my move in and other aspects of the complex. Although the property is older and in some ways you certainly get what you pay for, it is a charming place for someone not yet putting down roots such as myself, even if you are, the three bedrooms and townhomes seem to be a great choice for families. All around nice folks, I love my studio. I would recommend the property to someone for sure.

This is the worst living experience Ive had thus far. Despite NUMEROUS service requests, for about 9 months, our heat either is constantly on or off as controlled by a light switch (i.e. not automated). The hot water only works in the showers, and as of this morning doesnt work at all. The front office rarely has anyone there. I have called 20+ times over the last 2 weeks trying to reach someone, but the number has never once been answered. The hot tub has spent a large amount of time broken. I have left dozens of unanswered voicemails with my information. The laundry system is outlandishly expensive, and not conveniently close to our town home. And even through all of these issues (with no compensation to my rent whatsoever), they are attempting to raise rent significantly every year. Now since I cant reach the office with my intent to vacate, Im worried I will be charged extra for not giving enough notice, despite the numerous mentioned voice mails. With my work schedule it is VERY rare that I can physically come into the office, but I have actually taken time off of work in order to get to the office before they close. These are things that should not have to be tolerated for the rates they charge. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

I lived here for a few months (2013) and really enjoyed it. I never had any issues with my apartment, management, my neighbors, or roaches. It doesnt surprise me that many people have issues, but I personally had none. I loved the location because it was close to the light rail and right off I-25. It also was within a few miles of some nice parks, and there is a long biking/walking trail that runs along the back of the property. I was able to walk my dog there every day and felt safe, although the coyotes came out at night so I never walked then. I still think back to those apartments because of how convenient they were, but even without any problems Im hesitant because of the reviews people have written. There were really bad reviews when I was looking at them, but I took my chances and Im glad I did. I think it really depends on your experience and how many issues you have with your apartment to force you to deal with management, but overall I wouldnt recommend them and wouldnt move back unless I knew I could get the same apartment (in the same building as the model, only 4 units in the building and quiet). Even with a really good experience I would be wary of this place.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!Constant maintenance issues, our apartment was freezing all winter despite the thermostat being set at over 80, when they finally came to check it in February they said that it hadnt even been turned on despite us being charged a ton of money each month in utilities. The utilities charges were regularly over $300 each month. There is a part of the lease agreement where if you dont give a 60 day notice to vacate youre basically stuck there on a month-to-month basis despite the lease agreement being satisfied, for which we got absolutely no notice of leading up the end of our lease. These guys will drain you of all of your money and penny-pinch however they can. Theyve lost several of my packages as they are delivered to the main office, and Ive had two separate issues with the laundry cards they make you use causing a 12 day period where I couldnt do any laundry on site both times. The plumbing has caused major issues on two separate occasions, the heat and AC has gone out for weeks at a time on at least three occasions. The maintenance staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, but the staff is not large enough to compensate for the mountain of maintenance issues that occur on a regular basis. The only redeemable thing about this incredibly shady business is the staff who, for the most part, are friendly and helpful.

I lived at the Ventana for over 2 years. I just recently moved out at the end of January.I loved living there. They were always fast to respond to any questions or maintenance requests. The staff was very friendly and even learned my name and apartment number. Impressive as I only picked up packages in the leasing office and the complex is huge. I dont really look for much more in an apartment complex. That said, the move-out experience has been awful. As soon as I gave my notice- they stopped responding to any and all inquiries (I did not have any maintenance problems). There was absolutely no direction or instructions provided for moving out. I even asked for the move-out check-list or some guidance 3 times through e-mail and once in person. In person, I was told theyd call me back and never did. The e-mails were never replied to. I am now over 30 days out of my apartment and have not heard anything regarding my deposit. I know I should be getting it back because I left the apartment in better condition than it was given to me in. Up until move-out I had only good things to say. But the entire lack of any direction or follow up has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Have jumped through hoops for two months before anyone could tell me anything about my fridge while I wasted money by having to throw food away. This is also the second fridge problem I have had. Also the hood vent fell out of my roof. The management does not care about their residents and refuses to do anything to make up for their mistakes. I pay more for a tiny studio here in Denver than I did for a 1BD/1BA in CALIFORNIA. And this apartment is definitely not worth that money. Pool is constantly closed, things constantly broken. And an office that never answers the phone, or just promises to call you back by the end of the day but will never call back. One of the worst places I have had the misfortune of experiencing.

They have had problem with there people stealing old money orders with people info on them and they acting like it not there problem. Then best of all last year some 23 with a family got murdered in there car in the carports and instead of giving anyone information and saying theyre safe they give this sad excuse of a paper saying they had an incident on the property and thats it. is just some of the stupid stuff they pulled this last year. Run! Dont look back! I could go on for days to tell you all the stuff they don’t want you to know as a future resident. First, I don’t know how many times I’ve been told “it’s out of my hands.” At your first glance everything looks pretty decent, then you find out the price which is ridiculous. For an apartment that is far from being luxury they act like they are the nicest apartment in the Denver. The management can’t handle any tasks to properly take care of the complex unless it’s to tell you that a bike on your patio isn’t allowed or that even when you don’t own a dog you need to clean up after them. Then when your utilities come to $200 dollars more not using heat or A/C (this is also not including the bills you pay on your own) they’ll to tell you it’s the economy’s fault or blame the company that bills them. They don’t tell you that you have to pay for electricity for the common area which I’m sure The Ventana Apartments can afford since they scam you for every dime you have. Niam is the worst apartment manager I have ever worked with! If you leave him a message or have any questions you might as well ask a 3 year old because they could answer it better than him. The only nice thing I’ve noticed about the apartment is the people that live her all have to suffer from the same stupidity. It is not worth any of your time to look or live at these apartments.

Well, writing is on the wall. THIS PIECE OF JUNK PLACE IS SELLING SOON. Its obvious after all the intrusive inspections, suits and mandatory bug treatment which is a huge nuisance for those of us without ROACHES or BED BUGS although based on the guy coming back over and over again, there are A LOT. The Ventana and Graystar apparently refuse to be honest and tell the people that live here because theyre low lives. So, heres the dirty secrets Ive heard about that the new people need to know:- CARS STOLEN and broken into all the time- AC does not work- The office was also broken into MULTIPLE times where RENT CHECKS WERE STOLEN. I dont think DPD ever found them either.- A random man was MURDERED!- Homeless people are all over. There are so many NEEDLES!- According to one of the old maintenance men, the BOILER ROOMS ARE FALLING APART- Based on the excessive number of PLUMBING and HVAC vans, clearly the rest of this dilapidated place is TURNING TO RUINS too- Water is frequently shut off- The manager, Emilio, if you even feel comfortable calling him that, is the worst. Hes judgemental, thinks hes better than everyone and tried to evict one of my neighbors after he let them transfer. They have BABIES! heartless. Get your paperwork right. So disorganized. He literally hides in his office and moved his desk back so you cant see him. Its no wonder his STAFF HATES HIM. Everytime I load my laundry card on the weekend, they are complaining about how ungrateful and LAZY he is. I agree. Theres ZERO COMMUNICATION UNLESS ITS ABOUT RENT BEING LATE and he never replies to voicemails or emails.- Lets see... the imcompetent staff: The maintenance manager and new lackey are so clueless I dont even know their names. Darrin utterly does the managers job and then some. Denise is sweet, but does not follow through. Cynthia is so full of herself and self-centered. What does the ground lady even do? They are paying her for NOTHING.- Between Emilio and bumbling idiots, my lease and probably others are always getting misplaced which really means lost.- The dog park is ugly and stinky!- Laundry sucks. The machines are always broken and the laundry company blames the Ventana and they blame them. Ugh. Take responsibility and either get a new company, machines or both!- Ugly leasing banners clearly indicate a problem with both apartments and the staff. If everything was great, they wouldnt need such obnoxious marketing.- Landscaping is a joke. Did you know they had a beautiful community garden? It was lovely and built by residents with management approval. Regardless, they probably paid a lot to have it torn down.- DOG POOP EVERYWHERE. Again, what does the grounds lady do? Maybe I wouldnt pay so much if her lazy butt did not have a job. Seriously worthless. The sprinkler system is also old and a huge waste of water and money.- Parking lots are seriously deteriorating- FITNESS CENTER IS A JOKE! Two treadmills? Are you kidding?!The Ventana is deserving of ZERO STARS. Im sure theres more... I hope the new guys are willing to dump much needed money into this place and all my neighbors get all their issues resolved before this place sells.

Denise and Cynthia are some amazing ladies, The Ventana Apartments have been awesome, I highly recommend.Edit:After living at the ventana for my entire 15 month lease, I have a few things to say.If youre looking for a place to grow and challenge yourself, look no further because these apartments will make you a stronger and better person. When I first moved in, there was a cookie in the hallway, that cookie lived there almost as long as I did. I left it there to see how log hed hang out for, and it was about a year before he moved out :( was kind of sad when I saw he was gone. I was able to do pretty much whatever I wanted with no one ever bothering me. I was without a fridge and dishwasher for half of my lease (they were broken upon move in) and matenience had a hard time getting me new ones. So i mastered the art of hand washing dishes and only eating non perishables when at home. Most of the tome the AC didnt work, but its okay because it doubles as a free sauna and you can get a good detox in during the summer. Over all this pace helped me grow tf up. I learned so much and it was my first apartment on my own and Im glad it was as charming and challenging as it was. I feel like Im prepared for anything now. I also had it looking better than it did when I moved in and got my full deposit back!!! The management was always so so nice and tried to help me whenever they could. My wife and I stayed in a 1 bedroom property from June 2015 thru June 2020.Positives:-Price is okay.-The leasing agents are respectful.-The new owners/managers (Birge and Held) are investing into the property. This includes new laundry facilities, remodeling and have removed some of the old broken things around the area.-The community is pretty animal friendly, and theres a trail nearby with a park about a mile away.-Close to the light rail, its about a 10 min walk to the station.-Walls seem pretty noise restricted, so for the most part you dont really hear your neighbors.-Work orders were completed in a reasonable time and quality.-Weve had no insect or critter problems.Less then positive:-Have seen multiple cars having been broken into, including our vehicle which had been once as well as having our license plates stolen.-Get everything in writing as some of the systems used are not reliable. Have had to provide a copy of renters insurance 4 times because the system continued to say we didnt provide it. Office hours are not always consistent or convenient.-Building heating and cooling is all or nothing, there is no temperature control. Changes over from one or the other every spring/fall. Many systems are aging and larger breakdowns of both have happened.-Snow and ice removal is minimal.-Laundry is not in-unit so you have to plan when the facilities wont be busy.-Sunday morning parking is difficult on the free street parking on Warren as theres a church nearby.-Not everyone picks up their pet waste or follows on leash rules. (There are free provided bags in all the courtyards and a trash can)-Trash is an open bin which becomes a dumping ground and with lots of glass, and trash on ground.-Have been multiple occasions where there was little to no hot water at the end of the day.

I am honestly shocked by the positive reviews. I have been a resident here for 2.5 years and it has only gone down hill. I have a laundry list of reasons this place is not worth your money.I’ll start with parking lot. Right in front of the building is a slanted parking lot that freezes and takes forever to thaw. For weeks there is an icy path to my car every morning. My husband has fallen and injured himself. My kids have slipped as well, luckily without injury. My car and several others in the parking lot have been broken into and things stolen. There have been homeless people sleeping in the laundry room. That’s just outsideNow inside might look nice and updated but underneath it’s moldy and cheap. Our upstairs bathroom leaks into our downstairs living room. It’s disgusting. But they don’t fix it, they just band aid the problem. Back outside on the slab of concrete we pay for we aren’t allowed to have our kids picnic table on. There are lots of dogs here. But The Ventana can’t keep up with the dog poop and won’t fill up the bags for a week or so. Finally, the sense of community left with the old manager. It’s just not enjoyable to live here. I don’t recommend it unless you really just don’t care. But definitely not for families.I would love if we could leave before our lease is up but I’m not coughing up the termination fee.
