The customer service has really gone down. I periodically used this car wash throughout the years since it first opened.The owner initially quoted me a price for a wash & wax ($65), but when he came back with the invoice, it had $79.95 on it. When I questioned the difference, he told me “I could do it myself cheaper up the street” and then he walked off. What!?!What the heck happened?

Not such a great detail job. Lots of things left untouched. I wont go back. Disappointed.

I went here to get my car washed and cleaned on the inside. The wash was good but the quality of work on the inside was subpar. I also had to listen to the owner talking about people not tipping for a good 30 minutes while my car was getting washed. I paid 84 total including tipping 14 and my dashboard was even wiped down. Will never go back

Price a little steep, usually worth the money. But this time the wash and interior job was definitely not worth it.

This is a great car wash, I’ve been a customer for years.A lot of people expect a detail level of work in under 15 minutes and for a low price.I take a look at the work they do and if it’s not up to par I usually let them know on the spot and ask can they touch up/vacuum here, wipe there, etc.Prices have gone up a bit since covid, but most of the car washes in the Atlanta area have done the same. Like all things in this economy the burden is passed on to the consumer.It takes no effort to be kind and always tip.

Time is a very valuable resource. Not to be wasted by some curmudgeon who harbors innate feelings of intimidation and envy towards younger people. That being said, hopefully this business is not a scam to merely gain social security numbers and names from unsuspecting people looking for employment. As a black business owner, you should uplift your brothers.Maybe take the attitude and sarcasm down a notch, Highly certain if you do, maybe you can get that title back from the year 2000. (21 years ago). And to be clear this IS Golden.

I wasted a hour of my life and my car was still dirty. Dont waste your money ($40 plus tip) or your time at this car wash. Your car will come out cleaner at an automatic car wash. Fyi... They only vacuum the inside. They did not even wipe down the dashboard. Totally disappointed!

Who ever give this place a 5 star are crazy, this place it too pricey for what they actually they do. First they dont have a guidance of what they can do and how much it will cost. I ask i needed to clean the car and it was 35 plus tip. When i check my car first they didnt clean the trunk, and the window were just okay, the rims still were dirty. Definitely not going there again i will prefer to clean it myself or actually go to an automatic car wash that they will do it for cheaper and it will come cleaner.

Came into this hand car wash place on the way to other errands, and stopped in. Normally I get my large Ram 2500 washed at a local place closer to my house, but took a chance here.First of all the owners are very cool people, an older couple who understand customer service. They will make you popcorn for free while you wait. There is a gift shop with snacks and things.Today wasnt very busy so I had 2 gentlemen working on my truck. This is a hand wash only place and they do a good job inside and out. The owner sat outside and supervised them and if they missed anything he didnt!Im pretty impressed. Price was $15 Over what I normally pay so 4 stars for that reason.

By far one of the worst car washes I’ve received. The older man at the entrance was very helpful and gave precise instructions to detailer. However, when car was finished it was still dirty spots and streaks on the car and window. Poor vacuum between the seats and didn’t wipe down the door as they were instructed. Overall I could have paid my 10yr old nephew to do a better job than the 40 bucks wasted on this wash. Definitely won’t be going there again!

I paid for a vomit removal and car wash. It was $110. Some vomit remnants were there after cleanup. Windshield was not cleaned. Center console was not cleaned. Chassis was not wiped down. Doors were not wiped or touched. The wash alone was $55. This was a $15 carwash. Never returning; anticipating the closing. The owner, Catherine was very unprofessional. There was an unsatisfied customer in the office while I was waiting. This establishment is chaotic and poorly ran. Most importantly, my car was not very clean after $110!

Dont think of going there again charge 120 bucks for wash in 20 minutes and the car was same big spots as i left before, carpet still dust inside not even clean if you don’t to waste your money i recon go somewhere else

Yes, the owner was friendly and decent customer service, however, I was pleased with the overall job. The outside of the car still had several areas of dirt close to the tires and by the back bumper. There were water marks remaining on the windshield and passenger side windows. Not enough attention to detail for me. ($35 for wash and interior vacuuming).

These guys work hard and I appreciate that aspect of their business but it seems that they have some issues with streamlining all the cars that come through on the weekends, which lead to my car not getting a proper car wash, and I only asked for exterior wash even though interior is included- still paid the $25 on top of my $15 tip, which I was totally fine with doing. Was rushed out and didn’t get a chance to check my cars cleanliness, it still had dirt marks on the body near the front tires after I was able to check properly once driving off. It was my first time and I also wasn’t told how to pay which could be confusing to some. Cashier was not great at communicating either when I went to pay. but overall OK experience. Everyone was generally nice, just an overwhelming environment with lack of communication for what I paid.

Mr. Sam and his team have been taking care of our vehicles for years. This is not your standard drive-thru car wash--they hand wash every vehicle and detail everything professionally, so know that it will take more than 5 minutes. Their prices are more than reasonable for the quality of service and the level of care. We have a sedan, a pickup truck, and a vintage convertible that we will ONLY entrust the California Gold team. We come at least once a week and have never been disappointed!

Today was my first time visiting California car wash and I’m disappointed. When I arrived, a guy greeted me and asked what service I needed. I told him I wasn’t interested in a car wash, but I wanted to know the price to shampoo the driver’s side rug I spilled a slushy on. He told me the price would be $15. I agreed to wait. Shortly after, another guy I believe was the owner arrived to my car and asked what I was getting. I told him I wanted my driver’s side rug cleaned. He told me $15 and gave me an orange tag. After 30 minutes, I decided to walk inside. I grabbed a water and the cashier asked for my ticket. She told me my total was $46. I told her I was only getting one rug cleaned. I went outside to get who I believed was the owner. He told me he thought I was getting my car washed and said he wouldn’t have put my car in the line. He told the cashier to charge me $25. I asked how the price changed from $15 to $25 dollars. He said, “that was the price when I thought you were getting a car wash”. How?? The first guy quoted $15 too. I can’t stand businesses that change prices at the drop of a hat. I won’t be back.

Need help!! Car washing is pretty cheap but nobody wants to work!!

Customer service has slipped beyond acceptable levels. When paying $100 to get a car clean and waxed you expect to get a clean and waxed car. Our car was returned with wax not fully buffed and wax spattered on the windshield and other areas of the car. The car was obviously vacuumed hastily as there was plenty left in the corners. We have taken our car here several time, with the last 3 times being less than the quality that it used to be. Disappointing and customer lost.

I have always experienced a great service from this company. The owner/manager works and services well, as his team does. I give his organization five stars. Im middle aged along with my wife. I love the fact that he has booklets to read, etc, as we wait for our cars to be serviced. Drinks if needed and Christian readings for spiritual growth. I believe him to service our community in an honest and most sincere cause for the Decatur, Ga community. I hope he knows how important he is to our community. GOD BLESS YOU, my friend.

Excellent service. Went for a wash and wax for my black Laramie Longhorn truck and was very impressed. The guys thoroughly cleaned my interior and exterior and I didn’t have to wait long for them to finish. They saved me hours of my time if I would have tried to do it myself. I highly recommend this place.

$55 for a car wash on a sedan?!?! If you have an oversized vehicle that cannot fit in an automated car wash I guess you are the mercy of their prices but I just headed down the street to JJ’s Automated and paid $8 for the same outcome!

Unless you are planning to pay anything above $100, you will not be able to get a good service, respect. The staff is rude, and dont do job well. Was extremely disappointed.

Not satisfied at all paid $ 120.00 for cleaning but sorry to say my car was not cleaned properly, cannot see clearly through both windshields had to clean it myself and above the tag number plate it was not cleaned at all and there was couple of place which was not cleaned. This was my first and the last visit

Paint damage. While driving home after having my car washed at California Gold, my son noticed damage to the paint on the hood. There was also paint damage above the windshield and on the spoiler. We are certain that this damage was not present before the car wash at California Gold. When we took the car back, the owner loudly and at length denied any responsibility. However he did say that they had used a degreaser. Some of these contain organic solvents.

The lady at the front register is RUDE!! Terrible Attitude for no reason!! Please check your car, they will leave a lot of dirt if you don’t say anything about it. I had to mention over 3 times to re clean spots that they’ve missed. Didn’t care if I had to wait, I’m paying over $100 for half-axx work. Windows were smudged. I’ve been here before and didn’t have this problem, but I feel like they were rushing. They are expensive for the services to be sub par....I was excited to come here because of my past experience. Now I’m cleaning up the parts they DIDNT at home.

Not horrible like some of the reviews state, but not great either. Theyre still grime in my wheels, and a little bird poop on the paint, but the car looked pretty good from a distance. Customer service was fine, the owner was friendly. All this would give them three stars, however when searching for a car wash online I found them, clicked to their website they have listed, saw that it was $18 for a car wash on a standard size car, but when I went to pay they say those prices are 15 years old, and car washes start at minimum 25 dollars. It would have been a deal for 18, but at $25 I could have got a good car wash from a slightly nicer establishment

Way overpriced, especially for the quality received. Hand Wash doesnt mean done with care. My car was not dried well, resulting in spots on the hood. The tire shine didnt really shine and was not noticable. Would rather have an automated car wash for 40% less.

So I was charged 35 dollars for absolutely nothing!!!!!! Got my car cleaned yesterday when the sun went down so I didn’t notice how clean my interior or my tires were so when I got up this morning I realized my whole interior was not wiped down whatsoever only vacuumed and my tires weren’t touched at all ....... that was my first time there n it will definitely be my last

I took my nice new Lexus SUV for a hand wash and the worse experience ever yesterday evening. I never write a bad review but I don’t want anyone to have this happen. I was suspicious when it was done in about 5 minutes, I was devastated to see the same bugs in the front. When I asked the guy does this not come off he had a major attitude. As I was riding home I looked out the passenger window and glass was pure smudge, I stopped at the grocery store and when I walked out the back and entire lower perimeter of the car was untouched,. Disappointed that whoever was in charge did not even look at the car before I paid. Not the best looking facility yet hoped to receive great service. I now have to go somewhere else tomorrow to get it done properly. I went here many many years ago but different experience and apparently different management.

Fast and Great Service!!! I was able to come on my lunch break and my car was done within 40 minutes. Everything was done to perfection and for only 33 bucks. I have a back seat full of toddlers so you can imagine what my car looks like. It looked like brand new when I got it back. I will continue to go back in the future.

When I worked in the area I always intended to drop by but never did. They are very thorough cleaning your car in and outside for $40. They take their time. This is not a quick in and out visit. Expect to wait 30-45 minutes. They are not detailing your vehicle, but it will be cleaned pretty well. I am happy with the job for the price.

Great car wash, reasonably priced and they do a lot of extra services. The headlight restoration is probably the best I’ve ever seen. And it’s one of the last legit all hand wash car wash and detail spots around. Will definitely be coming back

I went to this shoddy establishment on Jan. 27,2018. At first I was apprehensive about spending 30 bucks on the car wash. But once I went inside I was impressed with the trinkets for sale. However, once my car was completed, i was totally disappointed. The inside of my car was not cleaned at all! The older man was a complete jerk, very rude and condescending. I WILL NEVER RETURN. Drove past a “big box” car wash on the way home to try this out. They say open to 6:00, I was turned away at 4:30. They should update their hours.

My car is squeaky clean, and they have a cute gift shop to sit in while you wait. Includes free WiFi and coffee. Great vibes. Definitely worth a visit!!!

It is a darn good service and the waiting area is decked out to get work done or relax while your car gets worked on. Friendly staff and owner. I use them whenever the wife wants the van cleaned.

This place up charged me because I had a little mud on the seat and other stuff on the windshield. They didnt even bother to clean all of that off. And when I drive off its not until I get home that I notice my master sword is missing so they either threw it away or took it. I am never going back

Please save yourself the time and headache of patronizing this car wash. They do not operate in excellence and their services are overpriced. The owner had a perfect opportunity to gain a customer by simply listening to my complaint but lost one instead due to his rude and dismissive attitude. Terrible experience. Lesson learned.

Very Unprofessional / Dirty CarThe owner was very disappointing as his attitude was low natured and lacking a spirit of excellence. The guy who cleaned the car LITERALLY put dirty water on it and never cleaned the outside windows, added tire polish, cleaned the rear view mirrors or housing, cleaned low or wiped down the inside of the car. NO clean car smell.I literally had to stand in the cold and point out all the visible dirt to bring attention to it. Did they clean it?? Nope. Then, the owner began to tell me In business, you will not always have good days...learn to accept that! Disgusting!All I wanted was a good car wash on a small car. $30.00 later, its still dirty. Please dont bother with them if you have any desire for DECENT customer service.

Very rude staff that do a poor job. At drop off pointed out several areas were sunscreen had dried on the bumper, wanted to be sure it was addressed. came back and the white marks were still there. when I pointed this out they claimed it would not come off, so I took a drying towel from one of the employees and was able to wipe it right off. There response was to laugh at the matter and try to charge me for another wash where they promised to remove it.

I have had my car washed here for more than 10 years. Today, when I arrived, I noticed that all the staff were new and unfamiliar. The young women signing me in seemed confused about everything. The bill was at least twice what I am used to paying. But when I got my car home, I had to redo most of the inside which had been missed by the technician. The service has clearly deteriorated under this new owner who is interested solely in making a profit. I will not return.

I visited California Gold hand car wash for the first time yesterday, August 28th 2015. I was immediately greeted and was asked which services I was interested in. I said I wanted Interior/Exterior wash / wipe-down and I was then up-sold on the leather seat conditioning and carpet mat shampoo. I met in the middle and said I would get my carpets shampooed for an extra 10 bucks but didnt need the leather seat conditioner. The up-selling was not pushy and I was fine with it. In fact, I really enjoyed my floor mat shampoo in the end, they look really clean.After I checked in, the owner greeted me and told me to take my time looking around inside. The waiting room is amazing. They were playing good jazz, and had a lot of different snacks, drinks, coffee, etc. There is also a store inside, and I ended up buying some great greeting cards, a bracelet, and wine holder/sealer. They also had some great hats for sale.I have a 2001 Mazda Miata that has been through quite a bit. The paint is in pretty good shape, and I have a ton of brake dust since I race the car quite often and have racing brakes. The wheels looked nearly black when I took it in. I was incredibly impressed with how the tires, wheels, body, and interior all came out! I felt that the service was perfect for a 25 dollar exterior/interior wash. The wheels really looked great.In the end, the owner encouraged me to come back for a wax and detail. I will absolutely be doing this based on my first experience. I think its great to go to a family owned car wash with friendly staff & good service. Thanks for a great experience.

They didnt clean the back part of my car because I had 4 small grocery bags. They could have very easily put them in the back seat to clean the entire car. Also the lady working as the cashier was rude and unprofessional. I wasted $35. I will NEVER Return.

I completely wasted money on a poorly done car wash. Overall, my car is still dirty with spotty done windows with lots of dirt along the body of the car, wheels, interior, and tires. I still need my car cleaned. I suggest you find another option to have your car washed.

I would have given it a better rating had I never gone to the AMC Webb Gin. The seats were just ok. The theater wasnt as clean as I expected.

The guy who greeted me was very nice, the lady behind the cash register was very nice ... ButThe guys working on my car were not nice.#1 my car doesnt look like it was detailed - the outside looks ok - the inside needs some work.#2 he looked at me and said, that was a lot of work man of course its a lot of work dude if you didnt want to be cleaning cars for a living, go to college or something, dont complain to me about getting paid to do your job!#3 I gave them a 20 dollar tip before they even started washing my car - so for me to tip almost 100% of what the detail costed, and for him to give me that kind of attitude was disrespectful, unappreciative, and just plain rude.I will never go back, and I will not recommend them to anyone.

Its hit or miss here. Sometimes Ive had awesome attention to detail and others Ive been disappointed but when I point out what I feel they missed they happily take care if it.

The assistant manager is very nice but the actual manager is not. If u have dog hair in your vehicle he will spray paint over it to cover up the dog fur color he treats customers like we dont know how clean our cars are suppose to cleaned and when you tell him about it he walks off and ignores you

RECEPTIONIST IS VERY RUDE....I got a car wash/wax for 80.00 and still had wax smears/minor white scratches on my black car. Didnt notice till saturday while the sun shined on my car,they are closed on sat so I couldnt take it back to them. I tipped the person who washed it, shouldnt have because he did a rushed job. He was done in 40min. They dont explain what the difference is between a 50.00 wax and a 150.00 wax,,which is the only one the receptionist claimed gets scratches out with a buffer. Bottom line they charge out the ass and dont do a good job. Took my car back on wed. The guy buffed the minor scratch,he said it came out,looked today, still there and now has a buffed circled mark only seen in direct sunlight. My brother whose a policeman and expert on car waxing will correct the problem but shouldnt have to. Waiste of time and money. I will NEVER return!!!

This place charges a lot more they charge $30 for inside wash and has additional amount $18 for only carpet vacuum its pretty sad if you cleaning it both in and out costs you $ 25 where as the owner is charging $48 only for inside job as per me I am upset and will never return where as they have a sign $18 for hand wash I dont mind paying $ 30 and $18 where I was over charged because $18 to my knowledge its way too expansive for 15 minutes cleaning

They are a bit pricey, but they do a pretty fabulous job. Way better than what you get at the automated places.
