I am new to Decatur and was hopeful about this shop because of all the positive revues about Ms. Vi and their work. Unfortunately, my experience has been anything but positive. It took a week to get my car back and communication was difficult. Ms. Vi told me 4 different times that she would call me right back but never followed through. I would have to call to get any information and most of the time Ms. Vi was out of the shop and rushing me off the phone. She also kept mixing up my car with another one that was the same make and model but a newer year. I had to correct her about which car each time we spoke. They finally diagnosed the issue as a wire that needed to be replaced. I had my car for one day when it quit running again. Ms. Vi said she would cover the tow back to the shop but went back on that promise because she said it wasnt the same issue as the first time I took it in. This time they replaced the starter (which they did not bother to check the first time they had my car.) I got me car.home and opened the back door and the engine cover is sitting in my back seat so I paid $400 dollars for an incomplete job. I have been without my car for almost two weeks because of the lack of communication and insufficient repairs. I highly do not recommend this place.Edited: to add that Ms. Vi said she will reimburse me $100 for the work that wasnt finished.

I found Decatur Auto Tech initially when my son needed to get repairs on his car. Ive been going ever since. Ive been fortunate to have to do major repairs with great pricing as well as honest perspectives. I appreciate the knowledge of Mrs. V and the proficiency of her team.

If you dont have a regular place, go here. They did a great job with my brakes with really nice customer service on top. My wife used them a couple of years ago and liked them, as well.

The kind brown woman who greets you takes her time with customers and does her best to give a full and patient explanation on the status of cars being serviced. I was only there for am oil change. I was in and out rather quickly. The waiting area was small and clean. I will return.

I have unfortunately had several wide-ranging issues with my car. I learned about Decatur Auto Tech through a friends recommendation. Unlike my experience with many unreliable and dishonest repair shops, Decatur Auto Tech is extremely well-priced, transparent and fair. If you work near a MARTA Station (I work in Midtown), Decatur Auto Techs location is very close to the Avondale Estates MARTA station, meaning you can drop your car off for the day and easily get to work. Decatur Auto Tech makes car repairs less stressful due to its proximity to MARTA, doesnt break the bank and is an honest and competent repair shop.

I do all of the repairs that I can, but when I need a shop, they MUST know what they are doing. Decatur Auto Tech saved me time and lots of money recently and showed me that they DO know what they are doing.I thought that my transmission was dead and needed to be replaced, but they found that my engine had a blown head. V and I discussed my options and I wisely choose to have both replaced.When V called with the quote, I did a happy dance in my living room.They did the work. Test drove the car and Im happy as ever too have my car back.So, be picky. Decatur Auto Tech is an amazing Auto Shop . Took my car to a mechanic and he couldn’t figure out the problem . Got my truck towed to Decatur tech they immediately figured out the problem and had my truck up and running . The shop even out of courtesy fixed my headlight I was trying to install previously . My car stopped working on my way to work. Vee told me to get it in and she could have it done that day. She was super kind and respectful and even drove me the two miles back to work. They got it done quickly, she explained clearly. She literally showed me the burst belt and explained what happened. If youre reading this, there is something wrong with your car, and Im sorry, but go here and it will suck a little less than it could.

I moved to Decatur a few years ago and was looking for a new mechanic to do repairs I cant otherwise complete myself. I have used Decatur Auto Tech 4 separate times for various repairs on my 06 Acura MDX. I have never been happier with the overall service, repairs, and price. All the times I got it serviced it was done in the same day and being a savvy car owner I have verified their prices were the most competitive by calling around to other certified repair shops. The CV Joint repair was almost a full 30% cheaper than the Goodyear place close to my home. I would recommend them to anyone who owns a Honda, Acura, Hyundai. Having a quality and honest mechanic is very important to me.Repairs- Electrical Short- Transmission/differential service- CV Joints replaced- Intake manifold Gasket replacement.

After a terrible experience with a different place, I asked for suggestions from friends. Decatur Auto Tech came HIGHLY recommended so I took my car in the next day. They kept in constant communication with me and took into account my budget, the time I could leave my car with them, and how long I planned on keeping the vehicle to determine the best way to approach my broken air conditioner. My AC works great, I didnt have to overspend, and they even had it done earlier than they had originally quoted. DEFINITELY go see these guys!!!

Let me start off by saying that I was a regular customer. Please make sure you understand what they are fixing on your car. Took my car there for one thing and she said she will call me before they did any work to discuss the problem. They never called me to tell me what was wrong!! Ms. Vi, said they just fixed it. Then they tried to charge me double!! Never again! Once I got my car they still never fixed the problem. Ms, Vi is all over the place, trying to do too much and misdiagnosing... They believe in quantity not quality!! And bad communication followup!

So basically my car A/C was blowing heat I didn’t know what was wrong and they were very friendly and explained everything to me and got it fixed they work very fast and professional and I highly recommend them to everyone I would come here over anyone for whatever problem I have

The mechanics are knowledgeable and Vee explains everything regarding the issue and works with you to get the job done and get you back on the road. I have attempted to take my car to other places but they can never seem to get the problem fixed or they do a rush job. Decent auto mechanic. We took our car here for several years while we were living in the area. For the most part they did a good job, but we had a break problem they just could not seem to fix. After multiple visits we took it to another shop that fixed the issue without any difficulty. Fine shop for oil changes and other small repairs, especially if you live nearby. For more complex issues, you may have to go somewhere else.

I highly recommend you to come by. I was referred by a friend that was very satisfied with their service. V has always tried to accommodate me within my budget.

They tell you whats wrong with your car and will not tell you what need to be fix when its not broken plus the little lady that takes in your car know all about cars which is awesome to me will add 5 more stars for that what all she knows but Google only give 5 so to me in all is 10 stars

I dont trust this place at all. When I brought in my car in for an oil change they called me making a lot of fuss about the terrible oil leak in the engine, how bad it was, how they were afraid to let me drive my car, it must be fixed! It was a slow leak (add a quart every 3 weeks), but I said yes. I shelled out 500$ I could not afford to have them do the work, and 24 hours later I had the same slow leak I had before. I was out of town by this time, so I had to call in to talk to them; they said to have the engine steam cleaned and have the leak traced. No mechanic would agree to research the job; they said you need to take this right back to them. I did, and once again they told me to clean the engine because they wouldnt be able to find the leak unless it was clean. I asked them why they didnt do it, and they said I could easily do it myself with my own garden hose. (yes, they advised me to douse my engine in water.) I just had a mechanic confirm that the oil is leaking from the very places they claimed to repair. I will never go back.

Beware of this place. They will diagnose your car problem, charge you for the repair. If the problem comes back a day or two later, they will say its another problem and charge you again to fix it. They do not and will not guarantee their work. The fast talking lady at the front office will rip you off with no shame.

A friend of mine told me about Decatur Auto Tech 12 years ago and Ive been coming every since. I feel can trust them to tell me whats wrong with my car and Im very pleased with there work.

My alternator went out 1.2.18 while driving. It was 15 degrees in Atlanta. I called a few shops and ended up saving $250 on an original car part with service, compared to a Triple AAA service shop and some others. Further, without asking or charging, they fixed my digital dashboard display light that was out and made sure I was good to go with an oil change. They have been my preferred shop for 12 years now. Please beware....of this women overall this is a descent place but the lies that this women tells are real I have been coming to this location for years jus to find out I have been getting my money stolen I took my car in for a fuse problem she did my fuse which she told me it was one price then called me with a higher price which was not the problem she then called me and said that I had a engine part that needed to be replaced but little did she know I took me car to a great guy at a local autozone who checked it and there were no other problems with my vehicle so I go to pick my car up and she is telling me that I need to get this part fixed and it was urgent I jus didn’t feel right about it so I took my car to another local shop that specializes in foreign cars which they tells me that my car is fine I had no other problems I was so shocked that she would tell me a lie on top of trying to charge me hundreds of dollars more I could not believe it I thought she was a friend but please guys double check before and after u take your cars here and if she tells you that you have more problems before you decide to pay her rent please have another shop look at your vehicle because I would have been out of hundreds of dollars and to find out that she does this my people please wake up she is not your friend and she prays on people. telling you that something else is wrong when all along your car never needed any work but she will charge you for nothing I couldn’t believe it I will never go here again and people please do not waste your time or money.

I normally do small repairs and maintenance myself, but my starter is located in a tight spot and would be a tough job without a lift. Took it to Decatur Auto Tech around 1:00 pm and filled out a short form with my contact info and what was wrong (Bad starter). They called me back in a half hour confirming the problem and I authorized them to replace it. They told me it would be ready at 5:00 pm, and even called to let me know when they finished up slightly early.I got a great price and good service. The woman who runs the front is no non-sense and quick to help.They seemed fairly busy at the time and I did not indicate the repair was urgent - they just seemed to be quite efficient.

The first time I took my car here for service was in 1999, so Ive been coming to Decatur Auto Tech for almost 20 years. My 4 children have grown up, and with 6 vehicles that need service one time or another, I know I can depend on Decatur Auto Tech to get my cars back on the road. Ive moved out to north Gwinnett County several years ago, but will still bring my cars here for service because they have very skilled, honest mechanics, and do an excellent job. I even had my car towed from Gainesville to be repaired here, even though there are hundreds of shops in and round Gainesville.

Ive been taking my cars to Decatur Auto Tech well over 10 years now. I personally dont allow any other mechanics to even breath on my cars. Ms. Vy has always been fair and friendly with me and my family. They dont fix what isnt broken and will even tell you when its time to replace a car when its clear youre just going to keep spending loads of money getting it fixed over and over. How many shops do that?? Ive watched in frustration many times as people Ive recommend to Decatur Auto Tech take their cars somewhere else and get the run around or wind up spend way more than they would have. Friendly, professional, fair prices, and your car wont be there for several days for minor repairs. What more can you ask for?? Vy and her husband are brilliant mechanics. Ive taken my car to them several times since moving intown. The first time, Vy did a test drive to hear a new noise I noticed. She ended up telling me that it wasnt something to worry about and sent me on my way - imagine a mechanic that would do such a thing. Later, when I had an accident, she actually got out in the driveway and gave me advice on connecting my Pull-A-Part door to the car - no charge. And just yesterday, when I got in over my head trying to fix an electrical issue, she stepped in and hooked me up with a great deal and the cars running like new. Vy and her crew will have my business for years to come - I highly recommend them. And I know others in Decatur who have also gone there for years. Hit her up!

Vai and her family of mechanics run a fair, honest, efficient, & trustworthy shop. My family of 7 drivers has been taking our cars to Vai since we moved to Decatur over 12 years ago. Now that I live in Downtown, I still travel the extra few miles to get my car repaired at Decatur Auto Tech, because there has never been a garage that I have trusted more.Vai & Co. arent salespersons, they are problem solvers. They never try to up-sell you on repairs/parts you dont really need, but that doesnt stop them from advising you of warranted concerns.
